I thought Charlie Kirk was great in that he was a real debater, never lost his cool when engaging with rather uneducated “lefties” “tranies” and other “anti” dickheads. It is apparent that he had reached into the consciousness of a huge number of of people and awakened a Christianity belief in many as well.
For all that it is obvious that there are many who did not accept what he had “preached” and in fact celebrated the fact that he has been killed. This had led to a large number throughout the USA who have gone public with their anti Kirk sentiments and thoughts. Many have been now suspended and fired from various positions they have held.
And of course we have now had a New Zealand back tracker who had fired off his true thoughts. Leads me to the thought that it probably wouldn’t matter what was said or published by any New Zealander, any immediate dismissal would be met by a employment dispute and would probably result in a substantial payout to the fired person. What a sad protected conformist little Country we have become.

If you use your free speech to communicate something I find offensive I am free to decide whether or not I wish to continue any relationship with you. If I was your employer I am free to decide whether or not to continue your employment, especially if I think you may negatively impact on my business.
One of the main advantages of free speech is that it is possible to identify those with potentially dangerous viewpoints.
The difficulty for you as an employer is that you have a contract that decides to what extent your speech affects the company and your employment.
I suggest that you would have to demonstrate that it has had a detrimental effect.
It’s interesting as sometimes, indeed often, negative publicity actually helps the business.
