European Vassal States May Find The Real Cost Of Stealing From Russia
We have been following European and U.S. efforts to steal $300 billion in lawfully purchased U.S. Treasury securities from Russia. The U.S. has encouraged this theft, but the Europeans have taken the lead in actually doing it because the securities are on deposit at Euroclear, which is a major EU custodian and clearinghouse based in Belgium. The Europeans have mostly tied themselves into knots with the legalities surrounding this illegal theft. So far, the assets have not actually been converted, but Europe is getting closer to doing so. At this point, most of the original Treasury securities that Russia purchased with dollars it earned from oil and natural gas exports have matured. What Europe is after is not just the remaining Treasury securities but the huge pile of cash (plus interest) from the matured securities. Freezing the assets is not unusual. The U.S. does it all the time. In principle, the U.S. could freeze the proceeds of the securities and wait until the war in Ukraine is over. At that point, some arrangements resulting in the release of the cash would be worked out. That’s not what the U.S. and Europe want in this case. They want to steal the cash, not just freeze it.
Most lawyers consulted on this say stealing the cash would be illegal. Instead, Europe has worked out a crazy deal where Europe would make a loan to Ukraine, the loan would be secured by Russian reparations for starting the war, and the reparations would be paid from the frozen assets. In effect, Russia would be paying for Ukraine to fight Russia. This idea is ridiculous for several reasons. Russia will win the war, which means Russia will not be paying any reparations to anyone. In fact, Russia will probably collect reparations from Ukraine to reimburse its own war costs. This means the loan will go into default (since there are no reparations) and Europe would theoretically use the stolen Russian assets to cover the default. This outcome does not solve the legal problems; it just puts them off for another day. In reality, Russia has probably written off the assets in its financial planning. If it gets them in the end, that’s great. But Russia is not counting on that outcome.
The ultimate irony is that the plan itself has reduced confidence in U.S. Treasury assets and is part of the reason why central banks are buying gold and why the price of gold is going up. Even more ironic is the fact that Russia has made over $150 billion in mark-to-market profits on its gold reserves as a result of the stupidity of the U.S.-European plan to steal the Treasury notes. With continued stupidity by the West, Russia will have made back all of the lost assets through its profits in gold.
We all know that putin is one cunning criminal who plays the long game , short term thinking lefty politicians will be left scratching their heads when their countries are broke and the cunning ruskies still have cash.
Putin is not the criminal here.
If the Europeans don’t recognise the world is no longer unipolar their economic winter is going to be long and harsh.
Stealing Russian assets will effectively halt (or worse, reverse) any foreign investment in Europe at a time when that is all that will save them.
agree, besides some of the new right politicians in Europe, Putin is the only sensible one around.
In Europe it seems that governments are also figuring how to place further banking contraints, controls on their citizens.
Being ok with Banks telling their citizens to close their Bank accounts.
Placing constraints on their citizen’s accessing their money in bank accounts.
All the while looking at ways of not only constraining cash, & trying to place limits on it.
Going to CBDC Central Bank Digital Currency so the banks can track every bit of one’s income, & in particular of expenditure.
So just like “free speech” it can be considered, weighed up that one has done “too much thinking”.
So there will be some sort of balance, whether carbon, or too much wealth, whatever, the first priority is that the state actually owns your money, owns your life.
It is just the nefarious ways it takes to own all of you, step by step, just like jab by jab.
First they tried on it on Katie Hipkins, Tommy Robinson, Nigel Farage, etc.
In Canada on many of the “Trucker Convoy” leaders & supporters.
Second or is it Third now, to take the Russian money, to use it by the EU State’s decrees, is just another symptom, symbolic of how they see their own citizens.
.
Only the state giveth, so it is the state can taketh whatever & whenever..
All goes back to the Zionists and the Rothschilds. One and the same.
Soon the hottest currency on the planet will be a Russian passport.
Some pretty hot-looking ladies there too.
