was the reaper really starring or just staring?
old coots in the rest home were probably begging the reaper to come on in and end their miserable existence.
That’s a depressing start to the day.
Mum and dad both ended their days like that. It’s a hard row to hoe.
Enjoy life while you can and find a laugh wherever you go.
It’s our wedding anniversary today 💕
Happy WA WG ! 🎉
Thanks Sagz.
Hubby is still an ongoing project after 43 years.
God loves a trier, WG
Mrs Nasska, bless her heart, is still trying after 55 years. 🙂
55 years! Ya don’t even get that sentence for murder!
That’s as it should be.
Going to see my brother today, alzheimers so his area has a lot just sitting there. Went to a big one in Dunedin last year and walking past the single “hospital” rooms was fairly depressing. agree with you Hunty.
my sister in law…completely blank.
I’ve got one of those. She was “dropped” on her head at birth, or their mother was either “boozing or smoking”, and the poor thing never really recovered. ///
ooohhh Im telling “Mrs Ed.. Mrs Ed”…
Can happen when the mother stands for labour.
Always put a pillow on the floor/tub to catch the baby in case of butterfingers. Because it’s going to be a slippery little bugger!
Yep. My Dad spent his final years in one. I would rather top myself than spend one minute in any of them.
In Christchurch overnight, did a bit of a tour around a city I once lived in and knew well. Other than half the time not knowing what street I was in and of course not recognising hardly any of the old buildings I was actually quite impressed. I can see why the new and young would see it has quite the place to be. It is 30kph around lots of the inner streets, this was between 7.30 – 9.00 pm and people were everywhere wandering around. It gave an impression of safeness.
The biggest buzz was seeing the new stadium, I didn’t realize just how close to the city centre it is, it is going to be a dominate feature of everything that happens. The number of hotels, motels and inner city apartment type living was really noticeable.
I have seen reports the the Canterbury University is now considered the one to go to, I can see the future of Christchurch and Canterbury looking very, very bright and exciting.
“The biggest buzz was seeing the new stadium,”
In the centre of the city with no parking 30,000 mad sports people having to wait hours to get home 5km away. It will make Smart Stadium appear like it was built in the desert.
Meh..City of the Damned, ChCh. Bought my first house there in the 80s, just beside Lancaster Park—$42000.
My first one in 1971- Avonhead – either $12,500 or $13,500, cannot quite remember. Sold in 1980 for about $18,000 I think, 5 years later it sold for $54,000.
Nothing will change the dammed bit.
Yes but they are rebuilding the cathedral, when a phone box would do for 364 days of the year. Thank you Jim Anderton for donating your estate to the rebuild.
Won’t be ready for Bolgers send off then. Oh wrong god.
It’s 9AM. Shouldn’t you be at work?
No worries, been working.
got ya jaarmies off yet?
That’s going to get you told off
Have also travelled a few miles in the last few days and had a couple of pet hates in my face a few times.
Why for traffic lights controlled road works does it require someone in a yellow jacket to be about 50/100 metres past the lights. In the case of the two young girls on the works near Mossburn, one lying on the grass at one end and the other standing near the fence at the other, what was the point. Or the bloke standing by them at one end at Temuka yesterday waving his stupid robotic arm at everyone.
And of course the orange cones along the middle of the complete passing lane at Ealing and traffic at 50km, well over a kilometre with not one piece of machinery or worker in sight.
Typical 2025 traffic management. 4km of road cones and speed restrictions to do 10m of tar seal. The wait time at either end is proportional to the restricted space. 4km instead of 400m means that between turns the traffic banks up tens times the distance.
That Ealing one is just fecking horrible , do they still have both side roads blocked off as well.
Just the west yesterday
You have to wonder if the traffic management are taking the piss, at times!
Peace be with you.
If that’s all you have to moan about, then you are lucky.
Lots around with bigger problems than that.
Fuck off Viking – it’s my observations to a blog that people might find more of interest than endless F/B posting with no explanations as to why it could be interesting. At times you make euthanasia for old cunts a worthwhile proposition.
lol, wasnt that long ago our resident grouch was complaining about roadworks, cones and traffic management in his own locality.
he really is a ballbag, and i totally agree with a mandatory euthanasia 🙂
Its in the water you drink. No wonder Ngai Tahu want to get rid of you arseholes.
At times, you make euthanasia for old cunts a worthwhile proposition.
Be careful what you wish for. Your turn is right in front of you.
You are probably older than I am.
Oh dear, we are precious today.
Please join the queue at the rest home.
If you want spoon feeding, that’s the place.
I’ll put it down to the wind.
Animals get snotty on windy days. Ask SB.
The reason is that they can’t hear nor smell what’s going on, which imperils their safety.
These first-world problems eh?
Fuck you really are a cunt viking with your continual shit posts. Not one positive vibe emulating from you.
Really, you do have a problem, don’t you?
That’s going to get you told off
He speaks for himself, so we can see his attitude towards others.
A car and an electric bus had a prang in Auckland last night. A few people taken to hospital and it took all night to extinguish the burning bus. Fire investigators say the fire was caused by a hot exhaust coming into contact with dry grass and everyone should move along there’s nothing to see here.
I didn’t think EV’s had exhausts.
You are a dangerous, far right conspiracy theorist with sort of talk

Social credit point deduction coming up for youse !
In the strange & wonderous world of our girlchild MSM journalists all things are possible. Lewis Carol signposted the way.
Heard on the tranny about an hour ago, that Tamaki Drive remains closed both ways between Mechanics Bay and Ngapipi Rd because it’s an electric bus, and is unsafe. Well how many millions in lost productivity is that one electric bus costing this morning. What a virtue-signaling shit show.
“Heard on the tranny” Funny, I never thought you were one of those. Shows how easy it is to fool us and let us think you are an alpha male.
You got me, Ed. Now everybody knows. Bad day at the office.

A battery to power a bus must be fairly large.
What half a dozen times an electric car.
Just imagine the grass fires they could start!
T, Auckland Transport and the Police have now clarified the cause of this slight incident where minor burns were inflicted on passengers through no fault of the vehicle. Initially they thought is was a hot exhaust coming into contact with dry long grass as you correctly pointed out, but on closer investigation, the authorities realised this minor fire took place on Tamaki Drive and as such, it was very warm water caused by Global Warming from the Hauraki Gulf splashing up over the bund onto the affected vehicles and roadway.
As such AT after serious consultation with experts in the matter, will have to put up the cost of travel up to mitigate the recurrence of a similar event.
There is one dead.
possibly car driver.
No extra info .
but if it was a burning battery that killed someone
then no consequences !!!
BAU
Apparently the bus driver died.
He was on fire and no one had the means to put him out other than trying to smother it!
Yep, the bollocks has started. The Bus was owned by Kinetic/GoBus, whatever they like to call themselves on the day. The CEO this morning claimed the Bus battery was not involved, of course it wasn’t, if it was the Contract with AT would not look good now, would it. Excuse my cynicism.
Pity about the Kinetic Bus Driver who passed away, just doing his poorly paid job, no doubt a very good, decent person.
That’s twice in a row we’ve been blatantly lied to about EV’s. How can a bus burn all night but the battery is fine? Even Temu couldn’t fill a bus with enough plastic shit to keep it burning for that long. Something is horribly wrong with this whole picture.
The battery isn’t fine & I’ll take the word of a senior firefighter before that of a lying scum Council spokesperson.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ximCwNZPq7o
“It’s (the bus) in what we call thermal runaway which means that it’s basically the batteries have caught fire & it requires a lot of water to maintain their extinguishment”.
Anyone else fed up to the back teeth with being lied to by authorities pushing barrows?
Not to mention the 10 fire appliances trying to put it out. No doubt the road is going to require a bit of remedial work.
Who was carting the “grass” the car or a down and out on the bus?
If that was petrol or diesel it would have been out in a few tens of minutes with foam.
They probably need to investigate that hot exhaust fire again , there are only 2 way it could happen 1 is a boy racer car straight piped with sparks coming out which would be fecking near impossible while parking
2 a diesel ute doing an emissions exhaust burn while backing into the park
There was a picture in yesterday’s Horrid showing the burnt out cars with beautiful green grass in the background. As an aside, there is a block of land at the intersection of Port Marsden Highway and Marsden Point road about 2 or 3 acres where they stated doing earth works but gave up after covid. The whole block is overgrown with kaikuyu grass and gorse, a week or two ago they sprayed it with some really mean weed killer. Everything has died and turned brown. Can’t be long before the local trash throw some fire works in – it’ll be one hell of a fire and with a bit of luck and a reasonable south westerly it might even take out the super expensive Indian ( believe it or not ) gas station across the road.
morning.
I heard the boss was in the hospital the other day and was heard chatting with the nurse.
Looks like a breezy day down south ways.
Wind map is quite impressive.
Ideal weather for strikers to stand around on street corners, waving banners, spitting in loudspeakers! Saw somewhere that they were going to move their protest inside!
Pussies!!!
They are not committed to da cause, Bruvva.
“God”, or Mikey, or the ghost of whoever passed this year, is sending a message to the strikers.
If you go to “windy ” it just standard map for last month , remember met service cry wolf regularly. We getting norwest rain today which is sucking up some of the wind energy , but it has been blowing for 4 weeks now .

Howtis: Keep an eye on the bastard, he might get resurrected and that won’t do.
The funeral for former prime minister Jim Bolger will be held this Thursday on the Kāpiti Coast, with standard parliamentary proceedings expected to be delayed to allow MPs to attend.
Bolger, who was prime minister from 1990 to 1997, died last week after months of treatment for kidney failure, aged 90.
Speaking at Monday’s post-cabinet press conference, Prime Minister Christopher Luxon said Bolger’s funeral would be held at the Our Lady of Kāpiti Parish.
MPs from across the spectrum, Luxon included, are expected to attend.
“It’s what he wanted, at his local Catholic Church,” Luxon said.

Another late coroner report
for a 4 person death in a vehicle 29 July 2019
———-
A driver whose van crashed into a forestry truck has had his name cleared after police wrongly suggested he had consumed cannabis and was responsible for the accident that claimed four lives.
A Serious Crash Unit (SCU) report said Storm Lacy should have seen and avoided the truck and trailer unit he crashed into but didn’t because he had cannabis in his system.
————–
the cops were lying
no surprise
This makes a farce of the the Serious crash unit wankers closing the road for hours
so they can gather evidence
Nah, they fucked up, and lied
no surprise
The driver was sober and not a drug user.
this is what the cops do then never shift off their bullshit.
So the family of the 3 passenger may have though the driver was to blame
for 6 years
until his name was cleared
from an accident last decade

now the coroner has referred all four deaths back to WorkSafe for further investigation.

A long-awaited plan by the Albanese government to ‘protect Australians right to pay with cash’ is a sham according to consumer advocates who warn it could instead accelerate the country’s shift toward a cashless society.
The draft legislation, quietly released at 4pm last Friday, appears to require only large supermarkets and major petrol chains to accept cash, and even then only for purchases under $500.
Smaller businesses, government agencies, and most retailers would be completely exempt from the so-called ‘cash mandate’,
meaning they can continue refusing cash payments without penalty.

well looks like there wont be a shortage of firewood next winter!!!
also looks like many down here are going to reap the rewards of bowing to green ideology and replacing their fires with heat pumps and not having gas cooking 🙂 theres power lines down everywhere around here, id be very suprised if we get power restored tonight… or tommorow. aw well, looks like i best go wheel the geny out of the shed for the likely event of still no power tonight.
Got my genny wired into the switchboard and it’s battery on permanent trickle charger. Just need to hit the go button and throw the cutover switch from mains. Saves friggin round in the dark when you need it.
my father is a sparky and going to sort the same setup… for the last 7yrs. one of those jobs that gets forgotten about easily.
How will you charge your car SB ?
This is terrible
Write a ledder of complaint to

when the powers out like this i charge them with jerry cans of diesel and petrol
geny was flat fml, got the old girl going now so crisis averted i can charge my ph to access pornhub and also ysb to wind up an old grouch in tauranga 🙂
went and visited a mate on the way home from work, his kids are complete wrecks with no power so no gaming. its fucking hilarious, theyre absolutely lost and the wifi not going so no internet either. i rekon if it was just their house without they wouldve called oranga tamiriki for child abuse!
Haha the differences between us last of the non internet kids and modern playstation babysitter kids is fucking great. No internet for them and they think the world is ending, we just shrug and find other shit to do.
Decided to pull out my genny this morning, due to power cut, never used it since it was given to me and it was broken, go figure haha
our kids only really started tinkering on devices the past year or so (10 and 12yrs old).
the lil dude is currently building a bedroom fort and my daughter is playing cards with mrs sb. id say their school mates will be rocking back and forth in the fetal position tho, those lil fuckers are highly addicted to devices.
my workmate is distraught aswell, no power at the bottlestore for eftpos! stupid boy always carries cash for times like that.
Can only say one thing to that, good on ya.
Did you get discount for cash!
A wife buys her redneck husband a set of scales to help him with his new diet.
A week later, the redneck says, “Honey, these scales are great. Not only can I weigh myself, but now I know how much I’m pooping out because of this new diet I’m on.”
The wife says, “Wow, that’s great. I never thought about that. So you step on the scale before you go to the toilet and then step on the scale again when you’re done. And then the difference is the weight of your poop.”
The redneck says, “Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I guess I could do it that way.”
Ah, must be German
and work for NZ Initiative !
Bussy Doyle would be in his element. He’d qualify as a dietician! 🙂
bussy wouldnt bother with the scales tho, he would do well as a dubai porta potty!
“Ouch,” the nurse said, “That’s a nasty gash.”
“You’re telling me,” I agreed. “but to be fair it was better before she had the triplets.”
3 lil babies probs leave a lot better fun hole than 1 big 8pounder + baby.
im still very thankful my 2 kids came out the sunroof, mrs sb is still like new.
The ball & chain is a small, slight woman but there wasn’t too much drama with our daughters. Son although was an ounce short of 9lb & bloody near wrecked her.
Too much traction is overrated in any case! 🙂

A consortium behind a private bid to build the Onslow pumped hydro scheme became a registered company last Friday, with former Transpower chair Keith Turner, former Environment Minister David Parker, former Meridian renewable energy generation manager Ken Smales and senior environmental and commercial lawyer John Hardie as directors.
All shares are owned by Pumped Hydro Holdings, whose shareholders include the four directors of the consortium and a company owned by businessman and former merchant banker Rodger Finlay.
Finlay is the current acting chair of the Reserve Bank and a former chair of NZ Oil and Gas – now Echelon Resources. The remaining 2 per cent is held by Oscar Francis of Dunedin.
Hardie, Parker and Turner are all directors of the holding company.
Taxpayer funded no doubt.
Bend over everyone!
onslow is a fucking retarded idea, but if its done private without blowing billions of taxpayers money then go for it… but with the involvement of some of those names you just know a dumb fuck govt esp a woke luxon or labour lead one will hand them all the billions they need.
With that maggot Parker involved, it’s bound to be a sinkhole for tax dollars. The creep has promoted a wealth tax, along with his other treacheries.
Chris ‘Temu’ Hipkins announces a “NZ Future Fund” – a full twelve months after NZFirst announced our policy of establishing a “NZ Future Fund”.
After two whole years since the last election, and after Hipkins’ bonfire of policy the best he can come up with is a try-hard Temu mail-order rip-off of a policy that NZFirst announced details of last year.
He even has the temerity to name their cheap knock-off the same exact thing we did.
They say imitation is the most sincere form of flattery but this is just getting ridiculous.
When Hipkins was asked about NZFirst announcing this last year he said “I don’t know”. There’s clearly a lot he doesn’t know – including coming up with original policy.
What a joke.

Waimakariri River in high flood, residents urged to prepare for evacuation
Environment Canterbury said at 5.30pm on Thursday that the flow at the Gorge had exceeded 2400 cubic metres per second and was still increasing.
The river is currently contained within terraces from the Gorge to Highfield Road and controlled by stopbanks. There are two sets of stopbanks, the primary system is designed for flows up to 4500 cubic metres per second, and the secondary system for 6500 cubic metres per second.
Authorities have identified a vulnerability in the stopbank around Kairaki, which could pose a risk if flows exceed 2500 cubic metres per second.
Residents in the Kairaki and Pines Beach areas have been urged to begin preparing for possible evacuation. Those living on the secondary floodplain, including McLeans Island, Coutts Island, and Templars Island, are also being asked to prepare in case the situation worsens.
Environment Canterbury said it was continuing to monitor the situation closely.

Young muslims leaving Islam – Allah be praised!
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Dvzq1oztnM8:
Farm workers in Australia got a massive shock this week when they discovered a very unexpected intruder inside their grow operation: a **kangaroo that had broken in and helped himself to the crop**. By the time authorities arrived on the scene, the marsupial was stumbling, glassy-eyed, and clearly not his usual self, having spent hours on an impromptu feast before anyone realized what was happening.
Due to his obviously altered state, the kangaroo was safely detained and placed into custody for careful monitoring. Officials confirmed that this wasn’t a quick fix; the extremely high-spirited marsupial required nearly **four full days** to completely sober up and return to his normal self.
He then emigrated to Southland.
