Liarbour/Hipkins. The Flip Flop Party.

Given that they’re the tax, borrow and spend Party, they’re not really flip-flopping. The difference is that this time, Hipkins the Post-Marxist, thinks he can get away with it.

Chris Hipkins: Wearing Fabian Cloak, Wielding Marxist Hammer – No Minister

Either that or:

Hipkins does not actually want for Labour to win in 2026.
Reasons:

(1) He feigned anger that the CGT had been leaked and would fire anyone that leaked it. I call horse shit on that.

(2) WEF have probably told him to back off, as Luxon is totally in their control.

Note: I am not a fan of Luxon.

Do you have any proof that Luxon is a WEF stooge? He attended the WEF in 2024. But that could be excused for just meeting other world leaders for trade purposes.

This is unlike Ardern who was a prominent speaker in favour of the WEF and she was a graduate of the Klaus Schwab leadership program.

Milei also spoke at the WEF, though he was quite condemning of it. I mention this that just because someone attends Davos, does not mean they’re a puppet of Schwab.

Like pretty much all National Prime Ministers before him, he’s weak on rolling back anything Labour implements. That doesn’t mean he has advanced the Technocratic Marxist (WEF) agenda.

I have looked for evidence that he pushes any form of Marxism. The best you can probably say about him in that regard is he’s a Quisling.

That means he has no backbone. I’m not going to defend Luxon…but I have looked for overt Marxist attitudes from him and come up empty.

As someone else said, if Labour brought in Communism, National would promise to run it better.

Luxon is pro mRNA vax, and all vaccines – he wants vaccination rates as high as 95%. Seymour is pro vaccine as well.

wiki on McAnulty

McAnulty was born in Eketāhuna in 1985, and was adopted by Marie (née Monaghan) and Mike McAnulty.[2][3][4][5]

Their families have lived in the Wairarapa area for more than 170 years, with his great grandmother’s great grandfather, Henry Burling, arriving as an early settler in what is now the town of Featherston.[6]

The McAnulty family is a historically “staunch” family of Labour Party supporters, although his mother’s family included some National Party supporters.[2][7]

Ted McAnulty, Kieran’s great-grandfather, (“the only Labour-voting cockie in Eketāhuna”[8]) was the campaign manager for a Labour candidate running against Prime Minister Keith Holyoake in the Pahiatua electorate, at that time a safe National seat.
[geez Wayne, at least here is some credibility in his adopted family, especially if they re in the farming sector ]

McAnulty was raised Catholic.[9] [Gawd, another one in parliament wanting to tell others what to do and say ..and pay ]
He attended St Mary’s School in Carterton, St Patrick’s School in Masterton, and Chanel College, where he was head boy in 2002.[10][11]

He went on to the University of Otago where he completed a Bachelor of Arts, Postgraduate Diploma in Arts and Master of Arts in politics.[12] His 2011 master’s thesis was titled “The role of political positioning in party performance in the 2008 New Zealand General Election.”

My analysis on McAnulty is that he is a Fabian Socialist: Kieran McAnulty: Post-Election Socialist, Fabian in Practice? – No Minister

At least for now. Perhaps like Hipkins, he’ll flip from being Fabian to (post) Marxist.

Fact remains that he was one of the best electorate MPs the Wairarapa has been ‘blessed’ with in recent years.

He was head & shoulders above plonkers such as Alastair Scott (2014-2020) & John Hayes(2005-2014). In fact we’d have to go back to Wyatt Creech or Ben Couch to find his equal.

Why should they, if the present leader won’t! If it’s good enough for him to sit there earning the big bucks and doing nothing, why not them too?
Sorry to all the bright and beautiful people just itching to get their hands on power in the next election, It ain’t going to happen and probably not the election after that. This lot will have to be dragged kicking and screaming out of the trough and just imagine the serial leaking then!

Notice how often this happens.

“The tax department is chasing nearly $2 million after the liquidation of three companies behind “under-performing” restaurants, all directed by a Christchurch hospitality figure.
Jimmys Smoke House Ltd, Sake Brothers Ltd, and Sushi & Zenbu Ltd were placed into voluntary liquidation on October 21. All are directed by Jung Sub Kim.” Press 31.10.25

How come the Owners/Directors are allowed to run up such large amount of unpaid tax bills – and no doubt lots of unpaid creditors – before it falls down on itself. Next minute the same people will have walked away and started the cycle again somewhere else. There should be a earlier intervention once trigger points are reached, like unpaid tax bill after 2 months – something is seriously wrong even at that stage.

Hooker Phil has zoomed in on awful problem that Jacinda’s empathetic attitude created.
The Tax Man was instructed to NOT be too tough on slow payers.
My accountant mate told his clients that they must pay their PAYE and GST or the consequences would be dreadful. They didn’t. Nothing happened and my mate’s clients told him he was talking rubbish when he mentioned dreadful consequences.
Well, that stupid situation carried on for several years. Then things changed in 2023 and the Tax Man started doing his job. But things had got out of hand and that is why we are now seeing the downstream consequences of delayed collection processes.

Labour’s CGT is a tax on inflation.

Brilliant!
The government can have its cake and eat it.
It can borrow to cover deficit spending, then reap its tax on capital gains (as real assets inflate in nominal value in response to the inflation brought on by state policy).

Where is the incentive to trim government spending and live within its means?

In the end you will own nothing and be happy.

cant just blame liebour in the uni-party world.

notional has steadfastly refused to index the tax brackets
and therefore revenue gain from fiscal drag; aka bracket creep.

had many opportunities to do so including the big changes in Oct 2010
(reduced income tax after Klarkenfuhrer/cullen increase; and raised GST )

had the big Tax investigation led by PWC
did very little as a result.

in early 2017 cynically said they would reduce tax on ! April 2018 IF we voted them back in.
either they did it or they did not .
They Did NOT
This was all part of their announcement shit, one year in advance
..of doing nothing

Had lunch today with a group of fellas from around town, regular thing. One was my accountant way back late 80’s and early 90s. We were discussing how tough it was in those times. and this is reminiscent of those times. Businesses closed, people left for Australia and unemployment was through the roof. In the BOP, it got to 11%
happen again when slippery keys arrived in the top slot, and again this time when this lot managed to scrape in. The first effort was driven by mouth and trousers, Richardson and this lot by her disciple.
In our discussions, I reminded the group that the Nats are born to rule and that It’s a Catholic mafia with a large contingent of Maori. That Potaka is being lined up to be PM.

One said,” Well, we had to get rid of that last lot”. Perhaps, but look what you got instead. More crappy governance.

At the Tai Ping supermarket in Mt. Wellington there is a “Wall of Shame” by the entrance that shows photographs of shoplifters.
The overwhelming majority of the subjects have a high melanin skin pigmentation.

If this were the UK, I am sure the police would have forced the supermarket to remove the photographs under the “Hate Crimes” laws.

Since hate is a human emotion, the removal of hate would make us less than human. Is this what the State wants?

At https://newsroom.co.nz/2025/10/31/the-un-is-at-its-weakest-and-nz-needs-it-more-than-ever/ some woke hack argues for the retention of the UN. Lucy Cassels is an honorary fellow at the Helen Clark Foundation. Her natural habitat is the sheltered workshop of Melbourne University where reality seldom intrudes on socialist fantasies & her opinion could normally be safely ignored.

Her advice is predictably worthless except that she makes a valid point about the UN.

#. The “UN remains the pre-eminent global meeting house to discuss global challenges, and to find a way through them.”

#. The “UN system is now being let down by rules, systems and procedures which can appear to reflect – at worst – an antiquated, non-inclusive and outdated way of managing world affairs. It has become expensive and inefficient in places, and its wider agencies are struggling with budgetary and internal reforms.”

What is needed is a return to basics. For instance one of the founding principles is “The Organization is based on the principle of the sovereign equality of all its Members.”

IOW it’s not an instrument for World Government. Nor was it it intended to promote indigenous rights or force vaccines upon us. Let it get back to what it was meant to do & support will follow.

Hobson’s choice are spoiled for targets as today’s email attests. Readers may recall a recent whinge from some overseas based Maori that since NZ citizenship by descent is limited to one generation their children would be disconnected from their whakapapa.

The Waitangi Tribunal has recommended that legislation be passed to:

  • Create a “tikanga pathway” to citizenship, allowing iwi and hapū to assess whakapapa to determine eligibility;
  • Extend citizenship by descent only for Māori; and
  • Insert a clause requiring the Act to “give effect to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.

The Oxford dictionary defines apartheid as “a policy or system of segregation or discrimination on grounds of race.”

The proposal doesn’t really gel with Governor Hobson’s “He iwi tahi tatou – We are one people” does it?

The wife got a terrible headache and told her husband to go to the Halloween party alone. He, being a devoted husband, protested, but she argued and said she was going to take some aspirin and go to bed and there was no need for his good time to be spoiled by not going. So he took his costume and away he went.

The wife, after sleeping soundly for about an hour, woke without pain and as it was still early decided go to the party. As her husband didn’t know what her costume was, she thought she would have some fun by watching him to see how he acted when she was not with him.

So she joined the party and soon spotted her husband in his costume, cavorting around on the dance floor, dancing with every nice “chick” he could and copping a little feel here and a little kiss there. His wife went up to him and being a rather seductive babe herself, he left his new partner high and dry and devoted his time to her. She let him go as far as he wished, naturally, since he was her husband. After more drinks he finally whispered a little proposition in her ear and she agreed, so off they went to one of the cars and had passionate intercourse in the back seat.

Just before unmasking at midnight she slipped away, went home, put the costume away and got into bed, wondering what kind of explanation he would make up for his outrageous behaviour. She was sitting up reading when he came in, so she asked what kind of time he had.

“Oh, the same old thing. You know I never have a good time when you’re not there.”

Then she asked, “Did you dance much?”

He replied, “I’ll tell you, I never even danced one dance. When I got there, I met Pete, Bill Brown and some other guys, so we went into the spare room and played poker all evening.”

“You must have looked really silly wearing that costume playing poker all night!” she said with unashamed sarcasm.

To which the husband replied, “Actually, I gave my costume to your Dad. Apparently he had the time of his life.”

Re-elected Auckland mayor Wayne Brown has used his inauguration speech to send a pointed message to the Government in Wellington, warning that Auckland deserves more respect and control over its own affairs.

Speaking to newly sworn-in councillors and supporters on Friday night at Auckland Town Hall, Brown said his 180,000-vote victory – “four and a half full stadiums at Eden Park” – was a clear mandate to “finish the job” of fixing the city and to push harder for Auckland’s interests.

“It’s a general election year next year,” he said. “The Government would do well to understand the importance of Auckland.”

In a characteristically blunt address, Brown said his message extended beyond Auckland to “the people in Howick South, commonly known as Wellington”.

“We are a third of New Zealand,” Brown said. “Given the size and scope of Auckland, they should be returning more our way. This is an opportunity for the Government to start treating us as such, as a major party, with the respect it is due.”

He argued that central government still failed to treat Auckland as the country’s economic engine.
Well no. it has lots of pen oushes but produces bugger all.

Not everyone is enamoured with the Mad Queen. Stuff has run an article quoting a “scathing opinion piece titled ‘We still can’t get rid of Jacinda Ardern’ published by leading UK news outlet The Telegraph”. For instance:

#. “While Ardern’s candidacy is still a rumour, the more you think about her right-on, undemocratic and unpopular political legacy, the more she seems like a shoo-in,”

#. “She described Ardern as a “woke authoritarian” and as an “elite people’s princess……..”

To paraphrase Shakespeare ‘Will no one rid us of this meddlesome pain in the arse?’
