You see Dr Wilkinson first wrote this bill for the neoliberal globalist goon bags the now disbanded business round table 25 years ago. Act has tried time and time again to get this crap bill through, after watering it down to remove the clause that would mean anyone could take the govt to court to challenge legislation (imagine the mess that would make) it finally got through with the coalition agreement.
This is a two step tango, first rush the bill through under urgency (hilarious as the bill is supposed to be all about enforcing “better law making processes” and criticises bills passed under urgency) the second stage will be to reinsert the court challenge aspect of the legislation – which would mean corporates – like big pharma or tech could basically use our parliament as a lump of play dough.
But – and even Dr Wilkinson admits this – this bill could easily be amended by the left and another principle added – and that principle of course would be “the treaty”.
Either way it’s crap and just move this bill on, it’s so esoteric and abstract and based on an interpretation of property rights written by philosopher John Stuart Mill in 1858, you know less than two decades after the Treaty was signed.
Which is why it was never articulated or explained properly by Seymour.
If Act really wanted to do something about free one they would seek to entrench the Bill of Rights that the govt loves to trample over whenever it pleases, instead of this claptrap globalist junk masquerading as something it’s not.
By the way it’s estimated to cost $60million a year to run the RSB department – as Laws says – it’s a panel of bureaucrats telling other bureaucrats what to do with a whole new department.
The other thing is – this whole department (it’s a ministry) any advice they give parliament can be totally IGNORED.
Watch this, the left will get a hold of it and turn it into the Waitangi tribunal mark 2… listen to Dr Wilkinson say “it’s all on the table anything can happen”

For example Green Cross Health which owns “The Doctors” franchise with no less than 63 medical centres in NZ. There are others.

The Prime Minister made the announcement in Silverstream in Wellington on Sunday morning, saying New Zealand’s KiwiSaver contributions were “much lower” than Australia.
