And a good morning to you all my fellow YSB-ers

Our fellow member Colinxy has written a most-excellent article over at No Minister.

Titled ‘The Myth of the Maori Elite – Rebutted’ it is, IMHO, well worth a read.

The link is below:

Thanks!

Dr Harpreet Singh is proving a goldmine in illustrating Leftist academic stupidity in NZ. I am writing a fourth one on him — where he tries to blame the Musket Wars on whites (or rather whitey is complicit and should take the majority blame).

I hope to have it out this week — he’s taken to promoting his article on it this week on FB, so I’d to get mine out soon.

Colin is a thinker and his opinion is well written. Dr Singh on the other hand is a Fool.

His claim is there is no Maori Elite. Really? I will give Dr Singh another name. Tukuroirangi Morgan. If Morgan does not claim to be of and acts like one of the Maori Elite, then I am not a New Zealander.

Thanks, I do try. Singh only came onto my radar because my Leftists acquaintances kept pushing his crap on social media, as though he was some type of guru.

Prior to No Minister, I’d use the unfollow feature if they got too political/stupid, but these days, I use their posts as material for rebuttals.

On Dr. Harpreet Singh, I figure that it was during the time when India was aligned with the Soviet Union, that communism aspect infiltrated into, particularly the universities of India.

There is too much of this ‘thinking’ that is coming out in the diaspora from India, settling into NZ’s institutions & media.

I must have missed that comment, sorry.

It’s basically flows from Plato’s Forms. The imaginary Forms realm is real, and reality is imaginary. This is a major thought process behind Hegel’s dialectic and therefore Marx’s dialectic.

So, the imaginary is real, biology (reality) is fake. Or to put it in Marxian language. Imaginary sex is true consciousness, the true understanding, the liberation. Biology is false consciousness, the demiurge’s prison.

When you have true consciousness, you can free yourself from the shackles of the demiurge. Note: in this case substitute true consciousness for queer consciousness. Marx, himself, called his transcendent communism (true consciousness), “class consciousness.” (And Marx uses the term false consciousness, too).

Just in case no one read my article on the demiurge, you can think of the demiurge as the Christian devil. It’s wrong, but it might serve as an analogy.

The demiurge, under Gnosticism, is the false god (YHWH, Yahweh, Jehovah, Allah, etc.). The god of the old testament. The one that imprisoned mankind. To the trannies, god has imprisoned them in the wrong body (born in the wrong body).

Marxism is a gnostic religion…

Colin, I have a problem with people like Dr Singh. As I race towards my 80’s and still working full time with Special Needs Children, I am in the top end Tax Bracket and through this excessive Tax i pay, through my Taxes I have to pay to have Dr Singh employed in a non productive way to spout his politically biased garbage.

If Dr Singh did not rely on my excessive Tax payments to support himself, then I may not hold the same dislike towards these sort of Bludgers who spout disinformation, but then again, I may be wrong in my opinion of myself as I don’t think I will be in a position to find out.

Morning Troopers.

Today I present you with “Maori Leave”. And it is a thing. And it is racist. So far Karen Chhour has declined to front Duncan Garner on this. I have a lot of respect for Karen, so I hope she’s just taking time to get her ducks in a row.

It’s fucking disgusting, and this government was supposed to be doing something about racist seperatism.

From Matua Kahurangi:

“A clause quietly embedded in a collective agreement at Oranga Tamariki should alarm anyone who still believes the public service is meant to operate on neutral ground.

Revealed this week by Duncan Garner, the provision grants Maori staff discretionary paid cultural leave that is self-defined, open-ended, and explicitly protected from managerial scrutiny. Attendance at land court hearings, iwi or hapu meetings, cultural performances such as Te Matatini, and other obligations determined by the individual qualify. The list is deliberately non-exhaustive.

The crucial detail is simple. The entitlement applies to Maori staff only.

Non-Maori employees with community, religious, family, or cultural commitments must use annual leave, leave without pay, or whatever goodwill a manager is prepared to offer. One group receives an automatic, protected benefit. Everyone else manages as they always have.

“That distinction matters. This is not flexible workplace policy applied evenly. It is a race-based entitlement written into a taxpayer-funded agency responsible for the care of vulnerable children.

The clause goes further than granting leave. It removes oversight. Managers are instructed not to define or limit what constitutes a cultural obligation. Decisions are to defer to lived experience. Declining leave is implicitly framed as breaching Treaty values. “Discretionary” exists in name only.

This structure creates pressure, not trust. It turns ordinary management decisions into moral tests and makes questioning the policy professionally dangerous. A current Oranga Tamariki staff member felt unable to raise concerns internally for fear it could cost promotions, opportunities, or their future in the organisation. That fear alone should have stopped this policy in its tracks.

Workplaces already accommodate competing obligations every day. Church leaders, volunteer responders, migrant families supporting overseas funerals, religious minorities observing non-public holidays, parents dealing with childcare emergencies. None of this is new. The difference has always been that these responsibilities were managed under the same leave framework for everyone.

This policy breaks that principle. It elevates one identity above all others inside the same organisation.

Supporters will call this equity. It is not. Equity does not mean granting permanent advantages based on ancestry while others absorb the cost. That is hierarchy, not fairness.

The setting makes the decision worse. Oranga Tamariki is not an academic institution or a cultural organisation. It is a frontline government agency funded by all New Zealanders. When it signals internally that some staff are more deserving of paid time off than others, resentment is inevitable. Silence follows. Good people keep their heads down. Institutional trust erodes further.

This did not happen by accident. The clause was negotiated, approved, and defended using language designed to shut down challenge. Someone at Oranga Tamariki signed off on it. Someone in government knew, or should have known.

The Minister’s initial reluctance to front on the issue raises further questions. Governments that campaign against race-based entitlements do not get to look away when one appears inside an agency they oversee. Responsibility does not stop at the edge of union negotiations.

Invoking the Treaty to justify this arrangement stretches its meaning beyond recognition. The Treaty does not require race-exclusive employment benefits. It does not mandate preferential treatment within the public service. Using it this way turns a foundational document into a shield against accountability.

When staff feel compelled to become whistleblowers simply to ask whether a policy is fair, something fundamental has broken. The outrage here is not about culture. It is about a state agency abandoning equal treatment and daring its own employees to object.

If the public service cannot apply the same rules to everyone inside its own walls, it has no credibility left to lecture the rest of the country about fairness.”

Seems to be all a part of Luxon’s National Party for CoGovernance.
Winston Peters NZFirst, and the legislation he was going to remove, another non event, & this enacted while his party is in Cabinet.

Sort of understandable Karen Chour wants a moment, a day or so to consider things before reacting to this news.
This should be an opportunity for ACT to set up real blinder on what is going on in government departments.

The Waitangi Treaty Commission fixed the issue of the “Maori Day Off”.
Now it can expand under Toitū Te Tiriti to all government departments, then regional & local governments, to phase into Corporate then Companies.
Truly National Party CoGovernance.

Will Tamatha Paul resign before the next general election or prefer to be booted out as the lowest polling candidate?
How embarrassing that her past catches up on you tube even, it’s hard to make good out of that shit stream, when 70 million litres a day are floating out to sea.
She could always go for a swim there to prove it’s safe!
Is this the first time a pollie has been so well caught out in public with all the media caught whistling Dixie and looking everywhere but where it counted!

Tamatha Paul, like Genter, failed to read the writing on the wall. Last year National shitcanned Three Waters legislation passed by Labour which was to remove responsibility for water, sewage, & stormwater from local councils & turn them over to central government.

Paul was only one of many councillors relishing the thought of being freed from the mundane tasks like fixing up fifty years neglect of Wellington’s sewage system. The dysfunctional South Wairarapa District Council joined Wellington Water which was to be the precursor to government funded infrastructure. They’re now knee deep in the shit literally & figuratively.

Paul & Genter are now cornered rats but Wellingtonians will continue to support them as they are far left of centre & sanity. The question is, will National finally get the idea through their thick heads that they’ll never wring another vote out of Wellington & leave them to sort out the mess they created with their votes.

Ross12
Reply to  nasska

You are correct nasska. Paul will probably get voted back in unless Labour put up a strong candidate against her and I think they will. Similarly with Genter.
The WCC elections late last year proved my point — rates in Wellington are going through the roof, lots of people are pissed off with cycle ways, small business is failing all over town BUT a similar leftwing biased Council was reelected ( some different faces but the balance of the Council is the same)
The reason Little was “appointed” as mayor, I think, was that it was the first step for Labour to regain the two electoral seats gained by the Greens in the last election.
Wellington is a much more woke, far left city than it was 5-10 years ago.

Interesting email from Peter Williams / Tax Payers Union about provisions buried deep in the revised RMA legislation which gives the Environment Minister the right to impose taxes on water (and other things) without going through Parliament. Sorry I can’t link the email and it isn’t on their site (yet?)
Fed Farmers have written asking for the relevant bits to be removed but no answer yet.

Part of it

” I’ve had some long chats with the Feds, Jordan, and the Taxpayers’ Union team in Wellington. They spent the summer immersing themselves in the 900-odd pages of proposed legislation.
While the Cabinet decisions on the replacement to the RMA (for example, wanting to get back to a property rights-based regime) were good, the consensus is that much of the content within the Bills reflect what the officials want rather than what the Ministers instructed (and have been saying publicly).
That’s why this email probably comes as a surprise. The draft laws just don’t match what Ministers, and the media, have been saying. “

what the officials want rather than what the Ministers instructed

Just as many of the officials, techno-bureaucrats continue to totally ignore their governmental ministers and still continue full on, with the likes of the He Puapua Report, and anything else they can slide through, like in the Environment, Educational aspects, etc..

No one in the current tri-coalition really cut the public service numbers, as after all it was supposed to quietly gear up into active CoGovernance, to be fully aligned with the rampant “Toitū Te Tiriti; is tupuna inspired, tiriti led, mana motuhake driven and mokopuna focused.
Our intent is to demonstrate the beginning of a unified Aotearoa response to the Government’s assault on tangata whenua and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.”
https://toitutetiriti.co.nz/#:~

To be ruled by Insurrection, Rebellion, Treason, then merged into the total control compliancy of ‘CoGovernance’?

MONDAY MORNING QUARTERBACKS
The Government has instituted an inquiry into the RBNZ’s pandemic response, to be released before the election (and become a stick they can beat the Labour Party with). They have appointed monetary policy experts Athanasios Orphanides and David Archer to conduct it. Dr Orphanides is a former governor of the Central Bank of Cyprus and member of the Governing Council of the European Central Bank, and a professor of the Practice of Global Economics and Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. David Archer is a former Reserve Bank assistant governor and former head of the Central Banking Studies Unit at the Bank for International Settlements, which he left in 2022.

(See Transparency International’s report above. If this was a genuine review, they would have called it when National/Act/NZFirst took office in 2023. Waiting to weaponise it as an election issue smells like pure theater.)

As follow -on from Ed’s post about the actions of the NZ Nursing Council (NZNC) in respect of Kath Simpson, I have posted below an opinion by one Grant Robertson (Not, as far as I can determine, the Labour MP), which might, because it gives ‘background and context’ to the the NZNC’s current actions and intentions, be of interest.

Make of it as you will.

THE ANATOMY OF A HIJACK:

A Manifesto Against the Tribal Enclosure of New Zealand Nursing
New Zealand’s nursing profession is being dragged, kicking and screaming, into a state-mandated hallucination. The Nursing Council’s 2026 Draft Code of Conduct isn’t a safety document; it’s a theological shakedown. It is an attempt to lobotomize the secular, scientific mind and replace it with a 19th-century tribal blueprint that has no business in a modern hospital.
Thanks to the intervention of Todd Stephenson and the ACT Party, the lid has been lifted on this rot. Nurses have been calling out for a lifeline, terrified that their careers will be sacrificed on the altar of “cultural alignment.” It’s time to stop being polite. It’s time to stop being “vague.” It’s time to speak the truth until it hurts.
I. The Treaty is Not a Stethoscope
Let’s be brutally honest: The Treaty of Waitangi is a 180-year-old contractual relic. It is not a medical textbook. It cannot heal a wound, it cannot stop a hemorrhage, and it cannot diagnose a disease. To force nurses to “enact” Treaty principles in a clinical setting is a metaphysical heist.
The political class has taken a piece of parchment and turned it into a golden calf. They expect you to bow. They expect you to treat patients based on their family tree rather than their clinical urgency. This is Apartheid with a “Bicultural” Paint Job. If you are prioritizing one human being over another because of a “partnership” ideology, you aren’t a nurse—you’re a political operative.
II. The Fetish of Compelled Ritual
The hospital should be a temple of Reason, not a cathedral of Ritual. The Council wants to bake “spirituality” into your license.
● The Karakia: It’s a prayer. Stop calling it a “poem.”
● The Hongi: It’s an intimate physical exchange.
● The Pōwhiri: It’s an initiation.
Forcing a secular, atheist, or differently-believing nurse to participate in these rituals is a physical and spiritual trespass. It is a kinky power trip for bureaucrats to watch highly-trained professionals forced to perform a ritual they don’t believe in just to keep their license. If your “spirituality” requires me to share your breath against my will, it’s not “culture”—it’s assault. The Bill of Rights says we have the right not to believe. We are reclaiming that right today.
III. Linguistic Handcuffs: The Farce of Forced Māori
We must address the Forced Bilingualism currently infecting the sector. In a country where 99.999% of the population communicates in English, the Council is mandating the use of Māori terms in professional settings as a loyalty test.
● Language Enforcement: You are now expected to colonize your own tongue with state-sanctioned jargon.
● The Neutrality Trap: If you choose to speak clear, secular English and object to these terms, you aren’t seen as “neutral”—you are framed as hostile or “culturally unsafe.” This is Compelled Speech. To monitor a nurse’s vocabulary for “correctness” is a Soviet-style tactic. A hospital requires precision, not a political performance in a language the vast majority of patients and staff don’t even use for clinical life-saving.
IV. The Speech Police and the Death of Dissent
Principle 4.2 of this draft code is a Gag Order. By banning “offensive” or “ill-informed” speech, the Council is setting a trap for anyone who dares to point out that the emperor has no clothes.
If you think the Treaty is a load of crap, or if you find Māori spirituality irrelevant to pharmacology, the Council wants to fire you. They want to police your Facebook likes and your BBQ conversations. They want to turn your colleagues into informants. This is a Stasi-style surveillance of the soul. We refuse to be bullied into silence. If the truth is “offensive” to the Treaty-obsessed ego, let it be offended. Puncture the ego; save the profession.
V. To the Activists: We are Home.
The standard response to anyone standing up for One Law for All is the predictable, mid-wit slur: “Racist.” “Colonizer.” “Go back to where you came from.”
Listen closely: We are not guests in this country. We were born here. Our ancestors built the hospitals you are currently trying to deconstruct. We are not “partners” in an eternal racial standoff; we are sovereign individuals. We belong to one species—Homo sapiens—and we deserve one law. To the activists who think they can tribalize our healthcare: Stay the f*** away from our clinics. Your “mumbo-jumbo” has no place where lives are on the line.
VI. The Demand for a Clean Blade
We don’t want a “conversation.” We want a Legislative Cleanse:
1. Strip the Code: Remove every mention of the Treaty, “equity,” and spirituality.
2. Clinical Primacy: A nurse is judged by the scalpel and the syringe, not by their ability to recite state-sanctioned poetry.
3. The Secular Shield: No nurse shall ever be compelled to rub noses, pray, or speak a language they do not wish to use.
4. End the Racial Tiers: One law, one people, one standard of care.
The Nursing Council can either be a regulator of science or a cult of the tribe. It cannot be both. We stand with the nurses who are tired of the nonsense. We stand with Todd Stephenson for having the guts to call it out. The air in our hospitals is thick with the perfume of fear—it’s time to open the windows and let the cold light of Reason back in.
Stand up straight. Speak the truth. Reclaim your nation.

I left working for education (govt dept) in 1991. The Maori staff assertion and TOW promotion was starting back then.
