Morning Troopers.
Well after being on hold with Air NZ for 3 hours 11 minutes last night, the voice told me my expected wait time was down to 10 mins. I thought I better go to the loo before I got tied up in the call, so took my phone with me in case they answered early. To make sure I didn’t inadvertently push any button, I closed the cover. Well I never – apparently that hangs up the call.
So I go up at 0200 this morning and tried again. Got told the wait time was still 3 hours. So I left the phone on, went back to bed, had a couple of hours sleep and was showered and at my desk when they answered.
It really is third world stuff.
‘Your call is important to us’……though not as important as paying the ceo mega bucks and skimping on the low paid who answer phones.
Specially when the call centre is in Mumbai?
Was it number 1’s or number 2’s.. 🤷♂️ what?

Heard on the radio that rural fuel distributor was limited at the ports, for their usual allocation.
Travelling to some other ports to pick up took so much more time, so deliveries are getting behind.
Interesting. The only time petrol was rationing in Godzone was during WW2 & they managed to string that out until mid 1950, FIVE years after VJ day. The 1979/80 carless days fuck up only reduced consumption by 3 to 4% depending on who is telling the story.
As I recall during that event petrol stations closed midday Saturday to Monday morning. If you were caught short in an emergency the police could authorise purchases so maybe the JPs are involved in something similar.
There were so many loopholes that carless days were a joke to all bar the dogooders & narks. If a household had two cars or access to a company vehicle they could have different off days. Heavy vehicles & any vehicle that was subject to a VA & a CoF was exempt. I could take a 32 ton truck & trailer home for lunch but the wife had to borrow her mother’s car to take the kids to a doctor’s appointment. Diesel was exempt as was CNG & LPG.
