https://www.stuff.co.nz/world-news/360960513/german-men-must-ask-army-permission-leave-country

like the last couple of times theyve started taking steps to build a war footing im sure its nothing to worry about///// if their leader starts sprouting a terrible moustache or doing funny salutes maybe, just maybe, israel and netenyahu will be stopped 🙂 …. theyll have to wait for trump to be gone tho otherwise his jew masters will jerk the strings for usa to attack the germans.

For the 40 year olds is following the Ukrainian stretch.
Are they not going to press into service the many social welfare “welcome refugees” ?

• New law requires German men aged 17 to 45 to get Bundeswehr permission before traveling abroad over three months.• Aims to increase Bundeswehr personnel from 184,000 to up to 270,000 by 2035 through mandatory conscription tests.• Implementation details are unclear, causing uncertainty among affected individuals.• Peace marches and school strikes have been organized in response, focusing on militarization and calls for peace.https://deutschlandinenglish.com/p/germany-s-new-military-draft-rule-requires-men-to-get-permission-before-long-term-travel-abroad

Peace marches & school strikers need to change their “Welcome Refugee” banners to “Welcome Russians” 😁

Is it a consequence of sending German long rang missiles to the Ukraine & onward to hit in Russia?

Some figure that is the assembly of the kits in the Ukraine, with much of German identity scrubbed, erazed.
https://kyivindependent.com/germany-pledges-to-provide-ukraine-with-long-range-weapons/

Then the touted concept of “No Borders” and the EU as the Schengen Area of countries for free undocumented travel.
So how far away is another version of controlled travel, a la Covid legistation left in place, only needing a few tweaks by “order in council” to bring it back into force.
Then to manage the trannies, non-binary etc.. to escape that control.

You missed the bit about why they dropped the levels – marketing/money.

‘The new guidelines are based on results of a large, federally funded study called SPRINT, backed by pharmaceutical giants & stockholders…which found a 25% ‘relative risk’ reduction in cardiovascular events using a lower blood pressure target.

25% reduction was the ‘relative risk reduction’ not the ‘absolute risk reduction.’ Relative risk reduction is useless & misleading, whereas absolute risk reduction is the actual percent helped by an intervention.

The absolute reduction in cardiovascular events was only 2% – SPRINT also used an especially high-risk population, so patients with low or average risk for cardiovascular events had 0% benefit or absolute reduction.’

Yes. Amazingly lucky that neither Iran, its proxies nor its sympathisers have considered the inconvenience that would befall the West should in close or be blocked in someway. Say like 23 to 29 March 2021 by the Ever Given, a container ship that had run aground in the canal.

The HiJinks, the bidding, to get a fuel tanker to the UK.
How the UK has debased itself.

Jet fuel: How one ship tells the whole story
https://youtu.be/zUH1yNb3UFM
14 mins 09 secs : Apr 3, 2026 : Sky News : Ed Conway

The UK jet fuel production is significantly down and therefore much more fuel needs to be imported.

Sky’s economics and data editor Ed Conway looks at how the Iran war has hurled the world into a race for energy.

For Tarquin;— Ed is obviously not a sailor, but never mind as the ship eventually actually docks in the UK.

Taking note of other countries fuel reserves in various ways,

Although he does not cover the reason for the refineries closing, plus not mentioned another refinery in North Lincolnshire has also recently closed.
The MSM silence about the consequences of the Climate Change agenda; about the resultant legislation of Net Zero Carbon, that also was aligned with further Parliamentary legislation of NO Combustion Engines, etc…

Never mind, lets do the real green energy deal;– dry the ‘bull-shit’ patties, then you too can keep warm & then can cook like an Indian or Paki..

Japan is the country famed for implementing “Just in time” manufacturing yet they hold so much fuel “just in case”.

NZ needs to wake up and take resilience and energy self sufficiency seriously.
& shut down spieling spewing of the ex Helen Clark’s 2001 declaration that the country lived in an “incredibly benign strategic environment” in pushing her WEF-UN globalist agendas.

It seems that something is being done though whether it will influence the outcome of the shortages of diesel occasioned by the Iran war is moot.

#. “The government will put more than $20 million towards additional diesel storage capacity at Marsden Point.”

#. “The arrangement – funded through the Regional Infrastructure Fund – will support 90 million litres of storage at the import and storage terminal by recommissioning storage tanks that have been unused since the closure of the refinery in 2022.”

In the short term I guess it’s quicker to recommission the redundant Marsden tanks than build new. The other consideration is where would the new tanks be sited? Northland is about the only seismically stable part of NZ to build a tank farm on. Then there’s the problem of finding a harbour that can accommodate super tankers.

You’d need the wisdom of Solomon to sort it out & all we have are a shed load of self serving political plonkers.

Viking
Reply to  nasska

Some of the ex-Marsden tanks are located in the Mount. Bought by Gull and moved by barge.
Eastborne has tanks. New Plymouth probably has empty tanks these days; Nelson has a tank. and probably others. Not the sort of thing you throw away in the scrap.

In general, we don’t get super tankers anyway, as we only get small container ships. Which is why /whngarei should be expanded to be available for them. something I pointed out at the beginning of last year. We are still vacillating over that.

America is back in the oil business and is about to supply Australia with diesel and perhaps NZ if we behave ourselves.
The Americans have just bought a big house and garden in Auckland for their Ambassador.
Been negotiating that deal for several years.
WGTN is stuffed.

“Eastborne has tanks.”

Seaview is a reclaimed swamp. The land the tanks sit on was uplifted by the 1855 Wairarapa earthquake which is undeniable proof that it is a disaster waiting to happen in a serious seismic event.

“New Plymouth probably has empty tanks these days”.

True. I read something about it recently but I can’t recall where. Probably the best alternative site but port facilities are limited.

“Not the sort of thing you throw away in the scrap.”

Crap. Channel Infrastructure threw away an entire functioning refinery!

Viking
Reply to  nasska

You’re telling me about the land I grew up on. What a joke.
And if there were another earthquake, as there will be, the land will be uplifted again. One only has to look at Pencarrow to see, and you can follow that right around to Lake Ferry. and further.
The valley floor itself was uplifted, and that’s what made the valley habitable, as before that it really was a swamp. Even the locals didn’t live there except at the river mouth. The Waiwhetu Stream was navigable right up to Naenae, where your favourite convent was built for the Nuns.

But of course, you probably didn’t think that when they built the tanks there, they didn’t figure that out.

Don’t know, but one would think that better people than you have already turned their minds to that issue. The bigger issue would be the depth of water where the wharf sits at Pt. Howard, as that will rise as well along with the motorway from the valley to Wellington and all that area in Wellington that was raised by the 1856 earthquake. That includes a lot of the downtown, the wharf area and right out to the Basin Reserve, then around the point to Miraimar and where the airport sits. All of that was underwater before 1856.
The beach at Petone will be way further out, and the Hutt River and the big tank at the top, which is Wellington’s water supply, will undergo a transformation.
The Hutt won’t need their new stop bank as the valley floor will rise and the land is squeezed up like last time against the western hills, which are the fault line all the way to Wellington. And that’s what made parking the ferries at Nauranga so stupid and costly.

Somewhere in my pic collection, I have a photo of a drawing of that foreshore before the earthquake. It clearly shows that there was no foreshore other than rock falls from the cliffs above.

People never learn from history.
That’s one good reason why I don’t live there.

Human relationships are dynamic & history sees them lurching from excess to excess, spending little time in neutral territory. Few such relationships are more volatile than those between men & women & it is these that Christine Grace Smith addresses in her You Tube channel https://www.youtube.com/@christinegracesmith She takes a conservative view of the roles of the sexes & is scathing of the objectives of the latter waves of feminism.

One of her better offerings makes for compelling viewing, its theme being a critique of a season of the TV series ‘Survivors’ where groups of 14 men & 14 women are transported to separate islands, equipped with basic tools & left to survive for six weeks.

Fifty minutes of watching https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3i-hFKGexM is time well spent. The fact that this commentator has fallen madly, deeply in love with Christine has little to do with the recommendation. 🙂

Whose experience counts more, that is sanctified by the One True Ideology as they seek your subjugation; & anything else is dismissed as anecdotal.
A cobbled basis that is used to confirm the likes of Climate Change.

We need to learn the tactics that Left Socialists use that always slyly indoctrinates & makes it difficult to expose, until one can figure & recognize the actual tactic & the way the left ‘think’.

“Lived Experience,” Explained
https://youtu.be/e2DxUYNm4u0
23 mins : Oct 7, 2022 : New Discourses : James Lindsay

We’ve all heard it and done everything we can to avoid rolling our eyes now. “It’s my lived experience!” as though that’s evidence or, actually, even better than evidence.
“Lived experience” is a particular result of Leftist dialectical thought, however, that allows them to convince people that whatever they say is right and whatever anyone else says is dumb or bad.
It is, in fact, the dialectical synthesis of evidence and the Leftist phenomenological interpretation of the circumstances in which that evidence presents.
It’s even better than evidence, then, because while evidence is objective, “lived experience” is both objective and subjective at the same time, with the subjectivity coming from a place of higher consciousness.

It very noticable how the New Zealand journalists seem to have to interview some one, that says they have never experienced this flood, rain, wind, etc.. in their ‘whatever’ time, to make it seem very authorative.
That then backs up what all the schools teach, on whatever.

I see where you’re coming from but a “lived experience” is still a step up from the psycho babble so loved by by the Left.

The Achilles heel of lived experiences is the short time frame they’re experienced in which reduces them to little more than personal observations.

The Redbaiter@ The NZ PM’s wife Amanda Luxon appeared on the Dom Harvey podcast a few days ago. In a belated attempt to shore up her husbands fast falling popularity.Ms Luxon IMHO comes across as strangely disconnected from reality with perceptions on the media that seem almost prehistoric. She says her husband is (among other things) “authentic integral & super bright” and claims the media are not showing this real Christopher Luxon to the public. However such criticisms seem out of kilter with the PM’s views. He has often praised the media and bestows gifts upon them at any opportunity.Mrs Luxon also says there are some things that shouldn’t be politicised. Like climate change (which is undeniably real) and the arts. Really???The whole podcast is almost 2 hours long and sometimes there’s just too much information. Like the fact that when they were dating they used their fingers to draw plans for their future on the steamed up windows of their car.Its a spirited defence from Ms Luxon but I don’t think its going to help much.

While Blues rugby player George Moala has reignited the debate over whether sports stars in New Zealand are above the law, legal experts maintain there are “no special rules” for celebrities in court.
Moala, 24, was on Wednesday granted a discharge without conviction after he was found guilty of assault with intent to injure during a boozy late-night brawl, an offence punishable by up to three years’ imprisonment.
Judge Rob Ronayne found the impact of a conviction on Moala and the possibility he could lose his career outweighed the severity of the crime, and ordered him to pay $2500 to the victim.
