Did a little part unplanned trip yesterday to get a little closer to the snow covered hills/mountains yesterday. Was amazed at the numbers of people travelling south (to Christchurch?) through the middle South Island route – Fairlie and Tekapo were absolutely totally crowded. Hadn’t realised how much snow had fallen, everything quite covered and a hoar frost covered everything over a 50-80 km area.
In the end carried on and did the round- Omarama, Kurow 350km trip, easier to travel against the traffic flow. 3 vehicles seen crashed and left on the side down a bank.
Great day, lovely and sunny but there was quite a low fog from Twizel for awhile.
Would presume a lot of people had taken advantage of a 3 day weekend.
But But its beautiful, didn’t ya know.
Well, maybe it is, but it’s been a while since many have ever seen that, and those who did will know how dangerous it is to go there.
Still, it’s probably all the Auckland yuppies who have moved there based on their latest Queenstown experience.
Wait till the desert road gets that way. At least they shut the road.
Morning all, I’m rapidly turning into Postman Pat. The number of entitled cretins wobbling down state highways around here is getting ridiculous. Why do they always think everyone should give way to them and why do they all look so bloody pious?
So it’s all Russia’s fault that the piece of shit warmongering arsewipe Graham died.
According to
Sir William added on X: “Not to be a conspiracy theorist, but Lindsey Graham was the leading driver of the devastating sanctions bill against Russia. Yesterday, he announced that President Trump agreed to it.
“He had just returned from Ukraine, where it’s not unknown for Russian agents to operate. Russians are experts at the administration of poisons that look like heart attacks.”
Meaghan Mobbs, the daughter of Gen Keith Kellogg, Trump’s former special envoy for Ukraine, pointed to possible Russian involvement.
She said that, while Graham’s death could be natural, it was reasonable to ask further questions “given the current geopolitical context and the adversaries he aggressively confronted”.
Mobbs added: “Destabilisation through ambiguity is where Russia thrives. The absence of answers creates precisely the uncertainty, suspicion, and division Moscow has spent years learning to exploit.”
No evidence of foul play has been publicly disclosed.
The foreign policy hawk’s travels around the world made him a familiar face to dozens of world leaders.
Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister, said Graham had understood that the security of Israel and the US were inseparable.
“Israel has lost one of its greatest friends. America has lost a great patriot. I have lost a beloved friend,” Netanyahu said.
Graham was a staunch, long-time interventionist who pushed for direct confrontation with Iran. He was a strong supporter of regime change and the US and Israeli military operations.
On July 6, Graham had shared images from Tehran of people holding placards with a red target on his head. The words read: “Sooner of later your heads will roll.”
Making light of the threat, Graham wrote: “At least they used a good photo of me.”
A fitting epitaph for the nasty prick.
After the announcement of his death, an Iranian state TV news anchor rejoiced, calling the senator a “celebrator of Iran’s destruction, protecting the child-killing Zionist regime”, in reference to Israel.
He added: “Lindsey Graham has finally gone to hell.”
Nice pics of the North Carolina fairy touring a drone factory in Kiev. Coincidentally same drone factory was levelled by one of Ivan’s bombs.
Tell you something for nothing: Could have been Russia, or might have forgotten the safe word with mistress lash in Kiev, or may have mis underestimated the potency of Zelensky’s snow – but there is no way Miss Lindsey the warmongering Zionist died at home in the US of A.
Could have, but no, they are blaming the Russians.
The world’s a better place without him.
Graham told some of the armed force at the Capital riots afetrwards that they had given them guns and they should have shot all the protesters in the head.
Part of the trip I mentioned started and finished in the Waimate District, then through the southern tips of the Timaru District Council, onto McKenzie District Fairlie, Tekapo, Twizel then into the northern fringe of the Waitaki District Omarama and Kurow.
I did 350 km, Waitaki goes down to Palmerston and Wanaka, Timaru District goes north to the Rangitata River.
This is possibly going to be one of the new LOCAL Government Districts – how could anyone possibly call this local. I was part of the 1989 amalgamations, 3 councils became one where I was, but you could still travel from Hanmer Springs to Amberley or Amberley to Cheviot in under an hour. It is 315 km from the Rangitata to Cromwell – 4 hours.
Hardly local anymore.
HP, John Chapman has a very good opinion today on this subject and the effects on rural communities on his Facebook page. John is a Ruapehu District Councilor from Raetihi and has some interesting opinions on the subject of these Amalgamations. Have a look they may be of interest to you.
under the new setup does each old district get their rates ringfenced for that area or is this just a ploy to screw the small communities big time?
i understand it can go the other way too with infrastructure upgrades but id bet my left nut the debt for that will be ringfenced and a targeted rate on those who use it.
There was no ring fencing in 1989, that I am aware of. I doubt that it would be.

Authoritarian governments across the West want to shut down internet access to “unapproved speech” by shadow banning independent operators on all your favourite social media sites. China does this with their censorship management with the Great Fire Wall keeping the CCP as the ‘only single source of truth’. YT is fighting back, organising those operators with independent voices.
Last night I posted these recent horrific Chinese disasters and the suppression of the devastation by the CCP’s “Great Firewall” not allowing any coverage of their fatal botch ups due to the lack of any safety or respect for life. Do our increasingly authoritarian leaders understand where they are taking us?!
China has suffered several disasters this past week with no warning. From 38mins watch the Liulan Dam collapse in China flooding a large valley, killing thousands downstream (officially 39 died). There is a spectacular vehicle explosion a little before and report of China’s increasing temp rise due to their massive industrialisation, toxic environment and removal of trees creating a heat sink.
Sidney Katherine Powell VINDICATED on all accounts by the Texas Fifth Court of Appeals.
After three fucking years of litigation, in a 24-page ruling, the Texas Fifth Court of Appeals ruled that the Texas Bar miserably failed to prove Sidney Powell acted with “dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation” in the four lawsuits she filed against the overthrow of the United States government on Nov 3, 2020.
The court highlighted serious deficiencies in the Bar’s filings—even catching the Bar lying.
A: “By its own admission, the Bar misidentified or failed to include multiple exhibits it claims to have relied on in its Second Amended Response.”
B: “The deficiencies go far beyond mislabeling exhibits.”
C: “The Bar not only failed to cite to or argue about any additional documents—the documents are not mentioned at all.”
D: “The court found that the Bar’s response contained numerous defects, including exhibits that did not match the documents described in its filing.
E: “The court concluded that, without competent summary judgment evidence, the Bar failed to meet its burden of proving the disciplinary violations.”
F: “You have to be a damn fool, and abjectly stupid not to see what happened here,” the opinion added.
In other words, for the first time in the history of the Republic, attorneys have been arrested, indicted, prosecuted, persecuted and disbarred—including Rudy Giuliani and, most recently, John Eastman—for simply defending their client, a candidate for the presidency of the United States, no less. Why? So that Democrat operatives could claim that the overthrow of the United States government on November 3, 2020 was —the “most secure election in history”. That’s why!
Every single justice of the California Supreme Court ought to be impeached, prosecuted, and disbarred for fraud and conspiracy.
Sidney Katherine Powell was an Assistant United States Attorney in three judicial districts under nine United States Attorneys from both political parties. She represented the United States in 350 criminal appeals, and represented private parties in another 150, all resulting in more than 180 published decisions. She was the youngest Assistant U.S. Attorney when she began practicing. She is an elected member of the American Law Institute, and the past president of the Bar Association for the Fifth Federal Circuit and the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers.
Exposing corruption in one of the most powerful and corrupt law enforcement agencies on the planet—the U.S. Department of Justice—Licensed to Lie is a book she prayed she would never have to write.
Licensed to Lie: Exposing Corruption in the Department of Justice is the true story of the strong-arm, illegal, and unethical tactics used by headline-grabbing federal prostitutes in their pursuit of power. Its scope reaches from the U.S. Department of Justice to the U.S. Senate, the FBI, and the White House.
This true story is a scathing attack on corrupt federal prostitutes, the judges who turned a blind eye to these injustices, and one of the most notorious criminals to ever occupy the White House, Barack Obama, who promoted them to powerful political positions.

McLaughlin said a large number of registered construction and building firms were liquidated in 2024 and 2025, though there had been an improvement in credit arrears over the first half of 2026, which suggests those still in business were beginning to better manage their debt.
Still, there were 551 fewer building and construction companies in business at the end of 2025. About half of them were involved in the construction of flats and other types of multi-family dwellings.
Shit! That’s a tough one Boss. I’ve listed them below as readers might want to pick a favourite. Swarbrick & Paul should be paying even money though a lazy 50 on Menendez March could be worthwhile.

Seymour has done his fair share of Indian bum licking, but he really burnt off votes by having his Mumbai Mafisaso MPs – candidates to go to police to raid Tamaki’s house and take his guns.
Seymour’s hyperbolic praise of Modi is pathetic flattery that ignores Modi’s well-documented anti-democratic record of institutional capture, media harassment (jailing journalists) opposition suppression (raiding and imprisoning oppositon leaders until they agree with him) discriminatory reforms and democratic backsliding which contrasts sharply with Churchill’s defense of parliamentary process
Indian Khalistan prostestors were in Auckland chanting “death to Modi” .. i’m pretty sure if Brian and his crew had said that outside the stadium he’d be arrested. Welcome to a two tiered society, and in time becoming a multi tiered socialist society – which is exactly what India is.

RBNZ Assistant Governor Karen Silk says there’s still ‘some pretty good’ monetary stimulus supporting NZ’s economy, election not ‘the thing that’s front of mind’ when making OCR decisions
While people may think the Reserve Bank (RBNZ) is becoming more restrictive with monetary stimulus, Assistant Governor Karen Silk says it’s still accommodative at the levels the central bank is talking about.
“There’s still some pretty good monetary stimulus still sitting there, supporting the economy,” Silk told Interest.co.nz on Monday.
“You can have a position where inflation starts to come down and that spare capacity starts to get utilised at the same time, and [there’s] a convergence of the two, and that’s what you start to try and direct it towards.”
Silk’s comments come after the RBNZ’s six-member Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) raised the Official Cash Rate (OCR) to 2.50% from 2.25% last week. When it came to its decision to hike, the RBNZ noted that although oil prices have fallen, the effects of the oil shock would linger for some time.
“With inflation still above target and economic activity expected to strengthen, some further reduction in monetary stimulus is likely to be required to return inflation to the 2% target midpoint,” the RBNZ said.

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) died suddenly on Saturday night at age 71, his office said, prompting tributes from President Donald Trump and lawmakers from both parties who recalled his record as a foreign policy hawk and deep friendships he forged during his three decades in Congress.
In a statement, Graham’s office said preliminary findings from the DC medical examiner’s office found that Graham suffered from an aortic dissection, in which a tear occurs in the inner layer of the main artery. This was caused by arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease, the statement said. These tears usually occur when there is high blood pressure.
A death certificate remains pending until all toxicological and microscopic tests are finalised, according to Graham’s office. “At that point the death certificate will be updated to reflect the cause of death and appropriately classify the manner of death,” the statement said.
A US senator has called on someone in Russian President Vladimir Putin’s inner circle to assassinate him.
Lindsey Graham said the only way Russia’s invasion of Ukraine ends is “for somebody in Russia to take this guy out”.
In a statement on Twitter, the outspoken Republican asks if the Russian president has a “Brutus” who can take out Mr Putin and end the war.
His comments have outraged the Russian ambassador to the US.
Mr Graham, who represents South Carolina, tweeted: “You would be doing your country – and the world – a great service.
“Is there a Brutus in Russia? Is there a more successful Colonel Stauffenberg in the Russian military?”
Brutus was a Roman politician who assassinated Julius Caesar, while German army Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg is best-known for trying to kill Adolf Hitler in 1944.
Anatoly Antonov, Russia’s ambassador to the US, described his statement as “unacceptable and outrageous”.
He said the degree of “Russophobia and hatred in the US towards Russia was off the charts.
“It’s unbelievable that a country’s senator preaching his moral values as a ‘guiding star’ to all mankind could afford a call on terrorism as a way to achieve Washington’s goals on the international arena.”
US President Joe Biden has condemned the Russian invasion and imposed sanctions on politicians, including Mr Putin himself. He says the US will defend Nato countries but has ruled out sending troops to Ukraine.
And on Friday, White House press secretary Jen Psaki insisted Mr Graham’s stance was “not the position of the United States government and certainly not a statement you would hear come from the mouth of anybody working in this administration”.
Senator Graham’s comments also riled Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
“Of course, these days not everyone is managing to preserve a sober mind, I would even say a sound mind,” he said, calling for national unity from Russians.
A Kiwi icon – the world begins to react to Sam Neill’s deathKiwi actor Sir Sam Neill has died, aged 78.
His family announced his death on Monday, in a statement which said he died in hospital in Sydney, Australia, where he was with friends and family.
“Sam was surrounded by family and passed with the dignity that has characterised his whole life.
“The loss was sudden and unexpected but blessed by the fact that Sam remained cancer free,” the statement said.

Act is anotber pig slop party, and its further decline is inevitable.
