Between 2017 and 2023 and under Labour/Greens/NZF coalition inflation was between 22% to 24.5% overall, driven heavily by a post-pandemic spike in living costs. The Health system under Labour in that time was an absolute shambles.
The Education system under Hipkins and his Mother was disaster.
Ardern and Labour promised to build 100,000 homes and ended up building fuck all.
Issues like Ihumatao was an absolute disaster, a huge cost to the Country, poorly handled by Ardern and is still an unresolved disaster.
People were separated from their loved ones by Decree, could not attend their loved ones funerals, were lied about and had their personal details exposed by Labour and Hipkins.
Hipkins, Ardern, Verrall and Bloomfield were never held to account for their COVID actions and they refused to attend Royal Commissions of Inquiry.
This is Labour that people think or Ipsos claims are so absolutely wonderful.

Morning all. The meeting I went to last night organised by MPI and held at the Marsden Yacht and Boat club to discuss handing control of Bream Bay and the Whangarei Harbour to the Patuharakeke Hapu was a complete circus. The venue I’m told is licensed for 80 people about 250 turned up. I was out on the deck which like the inside was jam packed and there were heaps more people on the lawn. Nobody outside could hear. A lady from MPI came out and told us they didn’t expect this number to turn up. There was much laughter and jeering and she retreated inside. She came out again a few minutes later and told us they would do a one hour presentation inside and then come out and repeat it to us. Things really picked up from there, one bloke demanded the right to ask questions because he’d payed tax forever, a bloke from the fishing club who is very onto it told them they had to cancel and re schedule the meeting because being a public meeting they could not exclude anyone. It’s also worth noting item 2 on their agenda was health and safety which they were not complying to. Some fat bloke from Patuharakeke then got involved and only made things worse. There was more arguing and after another 20 minutes or so we left. I put the blame for this fiasco squarely at the feet of MPI for vastly underestimating the amount of feeling from the local community. There were people from all walks of life there and people I know from the Bay of Islands to Warkworth. If nothing else we’ve proven our community is ready to stand up and fight. I will be sending an email to MPI this morning saying what I think of them.

The US 30-year bond is now about 5.2% (the highest since around the turn of the century). Borrowing is gargantuan and interest rates are rising. The economic event horizon is looming.
In the meantime, I look after my health and enjoy retirement as best I can.

Unsurprisingly, the demand is so high that they’re scrambling to expand production lines, because what they offer is what farmers actually want. It’s also the kind of tractor that was standard on North American farms in 1970 or so.
Once again, somebody pushed the rewind button on progress, and the people most directly affected by it couldn’t be happier.
It is surprizing how many of the fancy computerized hour metres dash boards have been replaced, something to watch out for if buying privately as they only record the hours the new dashboard was put in.

Though I do not buy lottery tickets, like on the refurbished hot 1970’s cars, I more than understand the reason why people buy a ticket.
Sometimes just simple upgrades on the carburettor, exhaust systems, would not only extract more power, but also much better fuel economy.
The only thing I would miss is the air conditioner.
Even then to have a direct vent to the outside that gives far better air flow than through the fan system.

not really any such thing as a dash board anymore, maybe on low spec dairy/shep farmer tractors. shits changed, everythings just screens n shit, the odd side pillar readout and warning lights.
the top and bottom screen fully run everything in this thing, cunt of an idea if ya ask me esp when it comes to having to manually over ride shit.
theres about 8 different screens to scroll through on the bottom one and 7 on the top.
only analog thing on this machine is an air and hydraulic pressure gauge, everything else is digital.
the seeding tractor has 5 screens but 1 of those is just cameras.

I know one eventually figures it, but it seems mind boggling, and really a good operator is his own sensor when he gains the knowledge with experience that becomes wisdom.

Heaters on a tractor, luxury. Our MF 135 was a good sturdy beast. I remember having to drop the carryall tray, to try slowing it on a slide down a steep hill up Pukerimu Road, past the eight mile. All I could do was steer it in a straight line. Broke through a fence and ended up in a drain.
I guess as well as your brakes, and the carrytray being down, & the fenceposts plus those wires acting as a trip wire, at least it kept your speed before the drain to become an undamaged survivor that now had another job to do..
And no real damage to the tractor, 😀

Recalling the days of the benefits of an outside independent venting system that blows on the face if I recall some Holdens did and Mark 1 Cortina.

Perhaps one of the differences is that goverments have steadily bought in increasing restrictions & demand with in their regulartory laws for cars.

A tractor cab with a full modern cab is ok with no heating,
As after all no cold wind, or rain.
So does not need a heater.
But it gets all of that back when the sun shines.
The total glass-house effect.
Unless one can take off the doors, which these days is not really that easy.
Also to leave a door open risks a very expensive breakage.
And often as not, not doing enough speed for the windows to be effective.
Total waste of a perfectly serviceable pair of jockey juniors!
The worst part was I had to go back up the hill and pick up all the staples that were scattered all over the hill.
John Deere screwed the pooch with their systems that locked out repairs by independent mechanics. The whole exercise was driven by Moline bean counters who don’t live on the same planet as those they want to sell machinery to.
Their product was probably no worse than most of that pushed by their competitors. No farmer however, who has heard of anyone prevented from utilising a one off weather window to harvest their crop because of a failed sensor that needs JD technical blessings before the machine will restart is going to rake the risk on the product.
A pox on John Deere & their business model.
The feds have won a victory in usa. They have got millions in compensation for farmers plus the right to fix their own gear.
Yes but it was a limited victory. $99 million reimbursement to JD buyers who could prove financial losses & the same access rights to JD software as the dealers have for 10 years. The farmers’ own organisation sold them down the river & it was only intervention at state governance level in five states that saved the day. JD weren’t going down without a hell of a fight.
Whether JD assumes its rightful place as a scrap iron dealer will depend on the attitudes of very conservative farmers to the Klaas & Agco* (Massey Fergusson) products marketed by the opposition.
*Both of these marques are riddled with sensors & software. The essential difference is that they never went down the road of denying owners & independents the right to repair their machinery.
