A True Party for the Environment?

I have always said we need a true Green Party that puts the environment first. The present greens are not that. They are just a motley bunch of tree huggers, social engineers, communist loving wankers and economic refugees.

The launch soon of the new party dedicated solely for the environment is just the thing to do what the present greens have never done.

Sustainable New Zealand looks like getting a rather large chunk of present green voters, who have been put off by the likes of Marama and Golly-G who haven’t got a green bone in their bodies.

Time to look at their policies and ask questions.

Would like to know whether Kennedy Graham and David Clendon, the two expelled former Green Party M.P.’s are involved. They had integrity.

WTF does fixing child poverty and offering more middle class welfare have to do with the environment?

I’d also like to know what this party’s stance on the use of genetically based pest eradication methods is.

It’s under Animal Welfare.

• We will fund scientific research into new predator species control methods, including gene editing technologies.

They don’t have a lot of policy detail yet.

• We will work to establish a bipartisan approach to dealing with Climate Change.
• We support the approach of the Zero Carbon bill. We will establish a Climate Change Commission and follow their advice to reduce global emissions, including putting a fair price on carbon.
• We will stop the use of coal.

The science is settled for them and it would seem man-made.

• We will work with farmers to make New Zealand the world-leader in sustainable farm management.

I thought we already were one of the top nations for sustainable, efficient farming. Unfortunately we don’t even show up on some reports. Guess we may be too small to count as a country for emissions and environmental impact?

• We will tax ‘bads’ like pollution, waste and over-consumption to take the pressure off ‘goods’ like income, savings and profits.

I hope buying luxuries won’t count as “over-consumption”. More control type policy?

Their last policies on Sustainable Communities and Child Poverty – it’s starting to head in the same direction as the Greens.

They won’t be able control themselves, they will be as socialist as the current lot.

Agree Pascal with your last bit ” it’s starting to head in the same direction as the Greens.”

I would like to know who the organisers. I would never support/donate or even make too many comments about their policies without knowing who the key people.

But it does indicate to me there are splits appearing in the Green Party.

Whilst I despise our current greens
For being too anti farming and anti business
And also for being extreme left wing communists.

This new party will need a lot of publicity to draw support from the current greens.

It also means that the right will be split across 5 parties
National
Act
New Conservative
New New Zealand
Sustainable Greens

I cant see any of the bottom 4 getting near 5%.
But I wish them luck

Is there really a party called “New New Zealand”? Did they not stop and look at that and go … uuuhhhm, maybe we need a thesaurus?

As I said earlier at Have Your Say it seems to me that they should link up with the New Conservative Party.
