Time For you To Look At Bitcoin ETF’s
New ETFs set to launch on the NZX this month
The New Zealand Stock Exchange (NZX) has joined forces with BlackRock proposing to launch four new exchange traded funds (ETFs) this month through Smart (formerly Smartshares). Exchange traded funds are a way for investors to diversify their portfolio and, as we detail next, get exposure to different asset classes.
First up, an ETF tracking the S&P NZX/20 is likely to join Smart’s 40 other ETFs currently listed on the NZX. Smart S&P/NZX 20 ETF “NZT” will track 20 of the largest NZX-listed companies, an alternative to the NZX50 Index, which could suit investors with a variety of risk tolerances.
In partnership with BlackRock-owned iShares, three new ETFs are set to list this month. The Smart US Technology (NZD Hedged) ETF “UST” will invest in the iShares S&P 500 Information Technology Sector UCITS ETF, whose top three largest holdings are Apple (AAPL), Nvidia (NVDA), Microsoft (MSFT), among 70 equities across the US IT sector.
Eleven new bitcoin ETFs were approved by the SEC in January this year, one of which is the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT). The intent is that a new ETF on the NZX, Smart Bitcoin “BTC” will invest in IBIT, which has 100% exposure to bitcoin. This gives investors the option to invest in this asset class without the added complication of buying or storing bitcoin directly.
Gold is another asset class proposed to be offered as an ETF listing as Smart Gold ETF “GLD”. This will invest in the iShares Gold Trust (IAU), which seeks to reflect the broad performance of gold prices, giving investors exposure to physical gold and an opportunity for diversification among asset classes.
Smart Chief Executive Anna Scott says, “By partnering with iShares by BlackRock to offer these new ETFs, we can represent some of the most exciting markets and industries.” Smart is intending that the four new ETFs list on the NZX Main Board on 24 October, 2024.
save the hassle and skip a few steps, may aswell just send blackrock and their mates your money cuz theyre gunna end up with most of it anyways.
stupid question Ed, why buy an ETF of a crypto when really thats what crypto is anyways… you just use other non traditional exchanges to trade them.
dumb fuck crypto fanbois dont seem to realise the big boys arent doing it out of the goodness in their hearts, theyre doing it cuz they know theres millions of gullable muppets theyre gunna screw over and get rich off.
Dumb fuck fan bois who buy bitcoin now will outperform other forms of investment.
It is a good time to buy . Many don’t have the ability to set up with an exchange or set up a wallet.
Self custody is the best way .
I don’t think etf,s should have been allowed but they are here and money is pouring in to them.
Btw bitcoin will be about $100000 USD by the end of the year.
No WiseOwl,
IAASB is correct. The BitCoin price is manipulated by the global elite, who buy and sell huge quantities, aka pump and dump, shifting the price up an down. When the price drops the stupid punters take a hair cut, and when it rises the global elite, having purchased at a low, get ready to dump gain when the price reaches a high.
You have to ask yourself, how much crypto stock has to be dumped in the space of an hour, to cut the price by 40%? Who has trillions on hand to do that? You? The local corner dairy owner? How do 100 million people all decide to sell their stock within minutes of each other? They don’t. And even if they did, who was there waiting to buy the crypto? All it takes is a small handful of big shots to rig the game.
-We have financed the mRNA vaccine that has and is killing and maiming millions world wide, and lining our pockets as taxpayer funds get used by govt to purchase said mRNA vaccines, which along with the flu vaccines creates ill-health and a continual need for more vaccines and drugs. Ka-ching!
-We have control of all the social media platforms and so can modify and sensor the news so that fake news becomes real, and real news can be suppressed, And stupid people pay for the fake news! Ka-ching!
-Through our news outlets we shape what people think, shape who people think are going to win elections, so when we steal the election, the stupid people see nothing wrong. And when our puppets get into power, they siphon money into out accounts through back door projects and overpriced public works contracts, and of course our big Pharma scams. Ka-ching!
-We operate Climate Change scams that takes money off stupid people by convincing them their cows farting is killing the planet. Ka-ching!
-We start wars, This provides more cashflow as we sell the munitions and / or provide loans to provide munitions. Ka-ching!
-We start wars and fund revolutions, and have done for a long time. Especially in countries that have rich mineral and fossil fuel deposits, By lending and promising to help war ravaged countries, we get our hands on the minerals and fossil fuels. Ka-ching!
-We fund sex and drug operations and get heads of state, royals, and dignitaries in compromising situations on video / tape, and we use these as extortion and blackmail to get what we want. Ka-ching!
-But we have ethics. So we do not get behind or invest in the worthless crypto currencies, spinning the lie that they are the new future replacement currency, all the while manipulating the price by pump and dump, rinse and repeat, We refrain from getting people to invest in crypto, all the while trying to overload the power grids with subsidised EVs, and embargoes on new power generation, and phasing out of fossil fuels generation which aside from small countries like New Zealand, provide 85% of all power.
No siree, we are ethical, we draw the line at Ponzi schemes like crypto.
Another TUI billboard right there.
why rebuild your orchard then if you believe that?
sell up, take insurance money and throw it all into bitcoin… kick back and watch the millions in profits stack up/////
its just gambling at best, massive ponzi at worst.
yeah theres big money to be made for a lucky few but the majority will lose. notice how crypto fanbois only tell you about the good wins and never the massive loses much like any other gambler.
you do realise any money made via crypto and sharemarket is at the expense of others? for someone to win someone else has to equally lose.
If BlackRock are involved then someone is going to get a haircut & I confidently predict that it won’t be BlackRock.
It’s a bubble..you know..Tulip, South Sea.. GFC mortgages/housing.. etc etc.
First of all you have to get past first base and understand what Bitcoin is.
It is pure. Cannot be corrupted. Cannot be reproduced .Best store of value ever.
There will never be any more than 21 million.
Blockchain technology is the way of the future. It is being adopted and used in many areas already .
Unlike FIAT. Manipulate the masses by printing money and then move interest rates up and down to screw everybody.
It’s fiat that is the ponzi scheme
It is the young people that should be trying to understand bitcoin and investing now before it’s too late. In ten years time you will be better off than investing in anything else.
What is absolutely imperative for Bitcoin investors is that they have their sign on codes and passwords attached to their will lodged with their estate’s lawyer. When you die all those passwords and codes you have in your memory; they are all gone.
“First of all you have to get past first base and understand what Bitcoin is.”….. its a non tangible invisible digital creation backed by nothing but pure speculation that muppets are willing to spend large sums of money persuing their FOMO.
21 million of nothing is still nothing 🙂
And no-one knows who created it. They say Satoshi Nakamoto, but no-one knows who that is, but everyone trusts him. Just like the pied piper.
Satoshi Nakamoto is just a name, and could be a virtual entity, created by the elite. Satoshi Nakamoto who invented bitcoin, and his cronies supposedly own a big chunk of the bitcoins.
What if he was called John Smith, Jane Doe, Larry Fink, or Klaus Schwab, how would that affect bitcoin?
Satoshi Nakamoto is a well chosen name, as it is Japanese and supposedly has integrity based on the name.
A name is just a label, in this case for a person, an AI, or a group of people.
Satoshi Nakamoto is no more trustworthy or evil than any other name, unless you know who he/she/it/they are,
AND if you understood the source code, if you can get access to it, and understand it.
[1] It is riddled with bugs. In early 2009, the original release of Bitcoin v0. 1, consisting of 26,221 lines of code, was shared with a cryptography mailing list. Since then, Bitcoin Core’s codebase has expanded to over 750,000 lines.
If Bitcoin was perfect, and the principles ironed out, it should still be 26,221 lines of code. Since Bitcoin has increased in size by 30 times, what has been added?
[2] It is claimed Bitcoin is unhackable. Yet every day there news articles about Bitcoin hacking.
