China & Rare Earth Metals
China once played an insignificant role in the global rare earth elements industry. However, through the country’s recognition of the potential the industry has had, China has cornered the market in recent years.
China’s market domination is having significant implications for the United States and other countries, since much of the rare earth industry is key to enhancing military technologies and green markets.
This presentation will explain how China has used its strategic thought process to shape the rare earth elements industry and achieve a strategic advantage.
It will also discuss some of the implications of these steps.
This video was originally produced in 2013, but it is even more relevant now.
