Dear Self-checkout Operators

Dear Woolworths, Countdown, and all other stores that have self-checkout.
You are heading towards almost exclusively self-checkout now.
The lady checking receipts at the exit was stopping
everyone.
I didn’t choose to participate in that nonsense, I had already
🛒 filled my cart
🛒 emptied my cart
🛒 scanned the items
🛒refilled my cart
and so I just skipped the exit line and left.
I heard her saying “umm – Excuse me ” as I kept walking and raised the receipt above my head, leaving the store.
You can either trust me to do self-checkout, or you can put your cashiers back in place like it used to be.
I’m not interested in proving that I did your job for you.
• If you want me to be a cashier with no training then that’s vour problem not mine.
• Keep employing young people and give them job opportunities.
YOU DON’T PAY ME TO SCAN MY OWN SHOPPING.
YOU DON’T GIVE ME STAFF DISCOUNT FOR WORKING FOR YOU.
Signed ….All of us
These are jobs that are needed to have for young and old

  1. Absolutely, You’re standing there doing their fricking job for no payment, all the while under the untrusting gaze of some Karen who probably didn’t get past her2nd year in high school ( It’s always a woman ) and for some reason feeling you are being judged as being guilty of possibly shoplifting.
At the same time the owners of the supermarket are cutting back the number of checkout lanes so you either wait in line or move to the digital version, it’s made even more obvious what the arseholes have in mind by the number of items you can take through the digital checkouts slowly being lifted ( You’re being trained so the owners can raise their already outrageous profits by sacking checkout staff ), In our local P&S it’s recently gone from 12 items to 25, get used to it folks ,one of the WEF WHO NWO subconscious messages sent to us by the plandemic was to get the sheeple ready for long orderly profit boosting ques in the future IMHO.

  2. Bunnings is another firm that seems to be doing away with the checkout operators then you have to wait while the lady at the door goes through your items like a bloody shoplifter FFS. I hate this stage of life. No wonder there are so many in the dole office as there aren’t many jobs about they are capable of. Mitre 10 seem to have lots of staff around to help you with anything you need. Bunnings seem to have very little of staff to help you with anything at all. Unless they are sitting out the back on their so called breaks.

  3. Lizziep I Agree about the stage of life thing, many of the people on YSB have seen the best of NZ when they had bugger all and are now witnessing the Worst of NZ when we supposedly have every bloody thing we are told we need yet are living in a declining standard of life.,.YIKES.
And you know it’s real when younger people feel the same way. ,no wonder 10s of thousands are bolting for the door you can’t blame them.

  4. Big corporate have an insidious community crushing ideal. This is why they leapt onto the ice witches no plastic bags decree – cost.

Go small. Dodge any store with self checkout. Bring back tariffs to protect little kiwi manufacturers. Build small business local entrepreneurs by exclusively using them.

I still praise covid for this. It gave me a lead on which shops to avoid. The big covid tyranny companies gave me a black list of shops to avoid for eternity.

Private companies are best. Those without grey boards of directors, enslaved by debt, subservient to ESG and WOKE capital.

  5. About 6 months ago in another town, I wanted to be quick, in just grabbing a couple of things, but the hassle is that some of those self check machines do not accept cash.!
What I found out was that by far the majority of those machines are card only in that shop.
In all that only a couple of those machines would accept cash,

The only good thing is that now my usual super market has taken down the last of its Perspex sheeting on the checkout aisles.

Come on you cash only customers 😉 Wave those $20’s $50’s around 🙂
Use it before we lose it.

    • “Lost the will to live”
as it would have to processed under the “Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009” updated April 2023. 🙂

Plus not only the corporates & direct government departments, but also those subcontractor names, but they can use the Government regulations to say you are falling out of government compliance which may need further investigation.
