They are running this as a distraction to the main game in town – running breathless for the self-anointed locals at TOW hearings. They will be spat out and discarded when the anointed ones have no further use for them. If you want to see the anointed ones obfuscating the process just drop in here and watch them in action: Garry Judd KC Evidence: Treaty Principles Bill

There’d never been a State of Israel until 1948 either. Therefore, if the argument is “there’s never been a State of Palestine in the past, so the Palestinians can’t claim one now” then exactly the same argument applies to Israel.

It doesn’t matter if there was a “state” there or not: the Arabs has still lived there continuously, and as a majority, for centuries, even if Jews lived there as a small minority as well.

It says “Kingdom of Israel” doesn’t it?

Moreover, there used to be a thing called the Holy Roman Empire, for instance – just because the Holy Roman Empire used to exist (and for a long time), does that mean the would-be Holy Roman Empire should now be able to invoke a “right” to exist, regardless of what the people living in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and parts of France and Italy think? I wouldn’t have thought so.

The Jews carved a nation from an area they traditionally inhabited.

Muslims have carved nations out of areas they never previously inhabited. And are still doing so.
