Gun Sales Surge After Mass Shootings

n the wake of the shootings in Dayton and El Paso, and ahead of potential gun control legislation being enacted by President Trump, firearms sales have surged, as Americans look to protect themselves.

The Washington Examiner reports that gun shops are seeing an uptick in business, particularly from first time buyers.

“While we have seen a measured rise in sale of certain tactical rifles and accessories this week, most customers are looking for concealed carry handguns,” said Justin Anderson, Marketing Director of Hyatt Guns in Charlotte, N.C.

“Just this week we have fielded hundreds of calls from people that have never purchased a gun before. Our concealed carry training classes are filling up quickly.” Anderson added.

“People are realizing that even a trip to Walmart isn’t safe these days and they want to be able to protect themselves.”

“Remember that nothing stops a lunatic bent on carnage better than a law abiding citizen with a gun. I continue to urge people to get a gun, get trained with that gun, and carry, always,” he added.

FBI Figures show another jump in purchases and background checks, with the National Instant Criminal Background Check System showing that 2019 is likely to be the second biggest year since 2016, when sales soared in anticipation of Hillary Clinton winning the election.

Here in New Zealand our useless government is assisting gun owners replace their old guns with new ones. Buying their old guns was meant to make us safe. How dumb is that?

  1. This is true.

First you have the religious and state running around telling us killing someone is evil but then ‘declaring war’ on someone you have no beef with and making it compulsory for you to go and shoot at people you have absolutely no antipathy towards let alone murderous hate.

Now. if someone torments you and after years of abuse you terminate their breathing you will likely be tried by the State, punished, and incarcerated or even put to death.
I’m actually OK morally if you terminate someone who willingly and and continuously creates massive grief in your life.
Not everyone will agree but that is my take. There are over 7 billion people on the planet and some broken ones among that number. A few less won’t make any difference.

If I went to a backpackers today in NZ and killed 20 Germans there would be hell to pay.
But if I killed 20 Germans in 1943 I would get a medal or two.

So, it is not religion or morality that determines ‘thou shalt not kill’.
It s the state that sanctions or otherwise.
It is not a higher power in the sky .
It is the government who tells you when it is OK to kill other people.

I am very anti war. I see no reason to celebrate or commemorate.
War is a statement of failure- or success by evil manipulators.

The event called World War One – which it was not really – started out as basically a power squabble in Europe as local power bases were fading as the 20th Century developed; people were more mobile with car and trains; healthcare and education was improving and becoming more accessible; unions actually improved the worker’s lot; and individuals were questioning the previous centuries of oppression and serfdom.

Britain should never have got involved in Europe in 1914, 1939, or 1972 (EEC).
Young men were taken from their homes by compulsion (conscription) to go and fight another man’s squabble in a far off land – from the perspective of NZ, AU, Canada, India, USA et al.

They were told to shoot – by their Government – people wearing a different coloured clothing (uniform).
Now that person probably had more in common with you than not, yet you were told to kill them because….??
They were not a tormentor or persecutor of you or your life. As a person they were no threat to your home or wellbeing. But your Government said they were and created a massive misinformation campaign to tell you this repeatedly and squeal on your neighbour if they questioned it.
    Talk about manufacturing hate.

The ‘enemy combatant’ , like yourself, probably wanted a good job, wife, decent car, house and home, a cold beer, good music and so on.
But the Government say you must kill them if you can, for the next couple of years at least, and then ..well, stop.
Kill 20 Germans in 1943 and get a medal.
Kill any Germans in 2019- during a time they are not the ‘official Govt Enemy’ – and the Govt will punish you.
Ergo, it is ‘The Government’ not god or any other power that grants the franchise to kill.

    This is the absurdity.
We pick off the retail killers – one on one or one to a few but the wholesale slaughter (war) is celebrated by people who are fooled into thinking they involve some greater good.
    It is great brainwashing.
    It works, sadly.

    • That’s a thought-provoking post. But you fail to adequately deal with the right to defend yourself. Although I am military trained, I am deep down antiwar, except in self defence. Thus, if some bunch arrived here with the intent of destroying me and my family, I would quite happily shoot to defend. Now obviously this was not the case of the UK in WW2, BUT, they had said they would help others if they were attacked. And although I have no beef with the average German soldier, The Nazi regime was evil, and had to be over thrown. When one reads the stories of men involved in war, very few liked killing, and many were tormented for years afterwards because of what they had done. Very few of us commenting on this blog have actually experienced war, however, my father lived through WW2 and from his stories, war is hell – for everyone.

  2. Yup. The only reason for a government to disarm the people is not to make the people safer, but the government safer. Ardern knows where she is steering NZ and what our country would do when she fully abolishes democracy. That is why she is taking guns away. Next year and after next election watch as more and more classes are added without needing a vote.

Oh and, fuck you National for empowering the communist scum and particularly Judith Collins for selling out to Ardern and her insanity.
