China’s blackmail is an admission of guilt

SenatorTomCotton correctly accused China yesterday of malevolently unleashing COVID19 to inflict devastation worldwide.

China Warns Australia: Drop Corona virus Probe or Pay an Economic Price

That’s as good as a confession.

That’s an admission of guilt.

The Australian government’s call for China to explain its bungled handling of the deadly coronavirus pandemic could spark a boycott by Chinese consumers, who may no longer travel and study in Australia or buy major exports including beef and wine.

That was the stark warning delivered Monday by Ambassador Cheng Jingye via an interview published in the Australian Financial Review.

Has Cindy had the same warning from the Chinese?

Would we be told if she has?

  1. No we won’t have had the same warning because none of our politicians has uttered a squeak about China’s culpability in this virus pandemic. Our leading government politicians were virtually trained in China and both main parties have Chinese implants firmly embedded on them, so it’s highly unlikely that the CCP needs to be concerned about us. We’ve already been bought.

Looking at Australian media it’s obvious that many people over there are really pissed off at China (with good reason), while here in New Zealand it’s a completely different story. No reporting and no questions asked. Unlike Australia, we’re a good little tributary state.

    • Unless our politicians show a strong willingness to fight back, there are too many economic ties with China. Investments in China from western companies are to stay in China (you can’t take money back, only re-invest), great swaths of market (think NBA) where your products are sold are to be lost, etc. Universities get a lot of revenue from China and are not willing to piss them off (think Tiananmen Square and AU).
It’d be the end of the world? No, but most private companies will resist unless they see a strong resolution from above (think Trump).

  2. Our government’s acceptance of in the wholesale bullshit peddled by China & WHO made the Level 4 lockdown necessary. Witness the hundreds, if not thousands, of flights chockful of potentially diseased people landing at our airports.

“Have you got Covid-19? Have a pamphlet & self isolate if you like.” That was it!

  3. Remember CCP Ambassador Xi threatened us with repercussions in the early stages when returning students were stopped. That was not a friendly warning; it was a threat and should not be forgotten.

We need to reduce our ties to the CCP. We are small but do not have to accept threats. An open trading relationship is acceptable but wariness needs to be maintained and politicians must be wary of selling us out for baubles.

  4. A few other countries are seeing the hold that China is placing on them.

….. the closure of the Confucius classroom was the result of a gradual change in Sweden’s China policy.

Sweden is taking a much tougher view of China as a result of that process, Feingold told RFA. ……

….. Chinese Communist Party’s bid to limit academic freedom, far beyond China’s borders on the campuses of overseas universities. ……

When will NZ sort this problem out

And a lot more links if one wishes to search.
So what is wrong with being anti, Chinese Communist Party? as the apologists will all come out about “stigma” “rascism” “world-peace” “tolerance” etc…

But just look how the money insidiously flows to gain control over “free speech” and finances in the academia world.
Then there are Belt & Silk Road projects to also gain control over an economy.
Trade can also be used, by being so large, and buying at a loss, then breaking the system to gain control over an economy.

  5. Years ago, New Zealand should have concluded an agreement with the CCP that the CCP would reveal the annual income paid to each of its citizens if said citizens applied to purchase NZ real estate.
So, when Mr. Yang of Wuhan applies to buy a $2.5 million block of flats, the NZ government contacts the CCP registry and learns that Mr. Yang’s salary as a local manager was $16,000 per year. That would be enough to put up a red flag.

  6. Sorry Ed, miscounted the links. so can delete that post in moderation as I have repeated it into smaller comments. Thank you.

This problem of the CCP as a virus for control has been known about for a few years!
    No one should be surprised.

  7. Coronavirus: China promises not to punish New Zealand for joining Australia’s inquiry into COVID-19 origins – Winston Peters

“It is very hard to conceive, no matter what country it is, of there not being a desire from every country around the world – including the country of origin – for an investigation to find out how this happened.”

Peters says he’s worked with China for more than two decades, and he trusts what they’ve told him.

“I’m not worried about [potential ramifications] because China has promised me they don’t behave that way,” he continued.

  8. I’m surely not the only one that noticed Chinese people coming to NZ and wearing those ridiculous face masks long before this virus ever appeared. It’s almost like they were aware of something that was about to happen just that they didn’t know when…
