    • It has certainly stirred us up! Eighty five comments on the article yesterday. The last thing I did last night was send a complaint to Trademe about that disgusting Donald Trump key ring that Melahi alerted us to. Their double standards are reprehensible but, of course, only what we have come to expect from leftist infiltrated filth. Well I’m having none of it. Trademe is dead to me now.

      • I’d like to tell TM what I think of them.
But I don’t mind being banned from buying on there as I can buy elsewhere.
But I do rely on being able to sell on there.
        So how can I complain?
(PS it is very hard to find big corporates email addresses, they don’t want you to contact them!)

  1. I’m telling you- We live in North Korea comrades!
I’ve experienced it! I have personal knowledge of a scandal involving this Government and was warned to keep my mouth shut….(Nothing new- Was extensively discussed over on Kiwiblog)
I discussed with a contact in Media- He also knew of this scandal but said “Mate that’s more than my job’s worth” and “None of us will touch that story”

    • Totally obvious for anyone keeping an eye on this useless government. Sexual deviant at Labour youth camp with court case still to be held, lawnmowers and association with Hell’s Angel drug lord, etc, etc, etc. There must be a bloody large hole to hide all ‘bodies’ they have hidden out of sight of the voting public.

I was just using it of an example of how corrupt this mob are…They will silence the Media and any Public Servants if they have damaging information!

  2. The media that went with Cindy Bin Lying are not doing their jobs.
She told So Mo that she wanted the 150 fakeuges that he has stashed on an island somewhere, that she still wanted them. But he said “piss off hairy legs”. Covered by the SMH, so the lickspitlle nz media are shit!
I am picking that aust do not want them in the back door, after coming here!

  3. I watched a programme last night about female comedians in New Zealand. I personally find NZ comedy second rate. I don’t find it funny. What was funny was the serious introspection these woman had about their near non existent careers.

I have to admit growing up with adult American standup comedy, so I have a bias. I personally think you can’t capture the real sharp edge of the world without unfiltered profanity and unPC observations. So it’s no surprise the documentary related that previous topics used in comedy routines were now no-go topics. That is to be expected in our ‘right speak..right think’ society.

That brings me to an interesting part of the documentary – a comedy skit where a group of Polynesian girls faced off with a group of Asian girls in a ‘dance off,’ where each group threw racial stereotypes at each other. One comedian who participated in the skit related most on social media enjoyed it, even related to it. The only people offended were white middle class NZ. Liberal white middle class to be more precise would be my guess. These people live in their own cosy little bubbles, yet by some arcane social transmutation believe they have walked in others shoes. These are the same people who inhabit government, bureaucracy and the media. Not good.

  4. here’s a copy of an email I sent to Ardern yesterday
As you know I belive in complaning and emailing and writign letters.
Over the years I am convinced that if people get enough of them it will affect them

    Dear Ms Ardern

While you were in Australia, I was trying to drink some of my favourite coke from a can with a soppy paper straw.

From now onwards everyimte I a m forced to use a paper straw I will think think of you and your draconian actions

As well as falling business confidence.

    Yours sincerely

        • So we know when Labour/Greens declare a ‘Climate Emergency’ we are going to have to pay for it.
Higher taxes and likely costs whacked on to Air Travel and Petrol etc…(That’s if Jacinda doesn’t just make a ‘Captain’s Call’ and ban Air Travel for plebs)
Will it affect the next Election? Will that be ‘put on hold’ while we deal with the Climate ‘Emergency’??
I think Ardern would take any opportunity she could to declare herself ‘Dear Leader for Life’!

    • Yes but one person was flown to Auckland, so that does not sound good for them. And one of other still serious.
It will be interspersing to know what the contractor says, had he finished the job? or was he coming back? Was it an appliance or was it in the pipes?

      0

      0

    • The contractor contacted the police. He has engaged a lawyer. Obviously, considering the 5 people injured and the magnitude of the explosion and surrounding damage that is a good idea to protect himself even if his work was not at fault.

Gas inspectors are honing in on the cause. They believe the seat of the explosion was the kitchen.

      0

        • Probably built up in the ceiling cavity waiting for an ignition source and if they had been having problems the odd gas smell might not have triggered any warnings pure conjecture on my part of course

          0

          0

          • Apparently reticulated gas in Christchurch is an LPG/propane mix which is heavier than air. Under normal building regulations existing up until 1977 the ceiling cavity would have been vented via the eaves & the gas would have escaped outside.

Then the insulation nazis took over & the requirements were that insulated cavities should be enclosed with no ventilation though I understand that the rules have recently changed again to permit venting.

The severely injured occupants will no doubt be reassured that they sacrificed their house & health for energy efficiency.

            0

            0

          • I once knocked the gas ring on my stove and it was going without ignition. The gas STINKS, and not something you could ignore. Even if the owners had smelt gas in the past I doubt not one of the five adults wouldn’t have questioned how much gas buildup was in the house. It’s all a bit odd.

            0

            0

            • Not if the leak was into an enclosed airtight ceiling cavity. The gas would build up & as it’s heavier than air would attempt to flow downwards. When sparkies run the electricity cables they normally drill 16 to 18mm holes in plates, studs & dwangs making an ideal conduit for a heavy gas.

Once the gas was in the walls all it would take would be a minute spark from someone plugging in a toaster or for that matter using any flush mounted electrical switch & it’s all over.

I admit that it’s only speculation but it makes sense. Where else in a house could gas in sufficient quantity to dismantle half a subdivision build up?

  5. Peter Williams on Magic Radio has just now read out an email about the MAGA hats being banned from TM. He wants further information. He thinks TM are out of line if the story is true and said a bit of political satire with Trump style hats with “MAGA Make Ardern Go Away” is a bit of fun and should not be banned. I’ve emailed the MAGA hat seller in case he is not on YSB this morning as is too busy sending out MAGA hats!

I actually doubt that that Trump is bothered, and if anything, it would be fun if he did get involved. 😉 as that means this has gone global to Ardern’s horror.

    • Plunkett was brilliant. Some of the best radio I’ve heard ever. The issue went off.

It looks like Plunkett has caught TradeMe in a huge lie. They told the sellers it was for copyright breach and they told Plunkett that it was fine to sell the hats, it was just that the sellers had breached some “other” terms and conditions and that they couldn’t discuss this because of “privacy”.

Plunkett pointed out that both the sellers were registered gun owners and given that we’ve had the NZ Stasi Police visiting gun owners and abusing them about their social media thought crimes – he quite reasonable opined that TradeMe have been contacted by someone like the cops to breach the sellers’ privacy in some way. The spectre of the Police gun owner/social media wrongthink watch list raises it’s head again.

I’m guessing that Paddy Gower will find this all a bit challenging and would rather continue with his Reds under the Beds white supremacist shilling for Labour – rather than investigate something that looks very suspiciously like fascism.

In the US we had a sitting President using intelligence agencies to spy and frame a political opponent, is Ardern doing the same? I won’t be holding my breath waiting for Commissioner Bush to issue a statement denying there is any investigation into Make Ardern Go Away hats.

      MAGA

One final thing – this is a perfect test for whether we have independent media in NZ or just a bunch of Labour party propaganda outlets. This is clearly a major issue now.

If the MSM cover it, all good.
If the news black out on the MAGA hat continues, we’re living in a virtual dictatorship.

      • Very good report DP.
I know I raised the copy right issue, just above, but I doubt very much that it was applied for here in NZ.
Trade me has not raised any earlier in their contact with the seller.
Then why also have trade me banned “it is ok to be white”

On Tuesday Trade Me’s head of Trust and Safety George Hiotakis confirmed the T-shirt had been removed from the site last Thursday after various complaints, reports Stuff, and he explained that initially the slogan didn’t “cross the line”.

        https://au.lifestyle.yahoo.com/its-okay-to-be-white-t-shirts-pulled-from-sales-site-074216039.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAACmwb-8HEHlKqNFsd9lGLV-5UZMldJmgUlmp3Tlna5TE_SZHfo7SbEl0Z0bek34yrvu4AUDsknfag8qGNbxM9Ju3SoL-8JYsqX5XhsmHqPPd1OCzvS0ua1jjB2RkZvZVFpoqkK9HW64vOW-7g5w5OeJy5iqivLb1jbJfL6oTtQfA
Mob rule, or rather agitated minority rule.

That is why using “free speech” will be called a “communicable disease” and will have to be treated under “emergency public health issues”.

Will be fun if Trump becomes aware of this, and does a few tweets. 🙂

      • Just had this response to my complaint from Trade Me:

        Shara (Trade Me)

        Jul 22, 17:43 NZST

These hats are fine to be sold onsite – they do not breach our terms and conditions. The listing was removed for a separate reason. We hope this clears things up.

If there’s anything else I can give you a hand with, just reply to this email or you can give us a call on 0900 872 33 (calls cost $1.99 per minute).

        Best wishes & take care,

        Shara | Team Leader

        https://www.trademe.co.nz/

        To which I have responded:

        Hi Shara,

Thanks for your speedy response but no, it doesn’t clear anything up. What was the “separate reason” and please don’t give me any “privacy” issues BS. This is now a matter of legitimate public interest and has even been reported in the UK. I understand that Sean Plunkett is interested in the story for his radio programme too.

        Cheers,

      • The formula how to rule the majority by the minority, in measuring offense.
        Offensive items and memorabilia

Trade Me does not support any hateful or intolerant ideologies.

We recognise the importance of remembering the past. We are aware that some groups may be distressed at offensive goods being in the marketplace and that others may use them for modern hate.

Legitimate collectors of these items may still trade such goods on Trade Me, subject to the restrictions outlined below.

Subject to the permitted categories listed in this section, you cannot list items that, either in themselves or by description, promote or glorify racial, sexual, religious or other intolerance, hatred or violence, or that promote organisations with such views.

        In particular, this includes:

        Confederate flags

You may not list items that feature the Confederate flag as a focal point. This excludes film and literature.

        Golliwogs and Dinah/Jolly money boxes

You may not list items that utilise the black face caricature. This excludes film and literature.

        Nazi and Nazi-related items

        Permitted:

Stamps, letters, and envelopes displaying Nazi postmarks.
Currency issued by the Nazi German government, including military scripts.
Nazi-issued documents (including passports, travel papers).
WWII military model kits that have Nazi symbols.
Historical and religious items that bear a swastika if they are made before 1933 and are not related to Nazism.
German military items not related to the Nazi Party or the Schutzstaffel (SS) or Waffen SS.
Propaganda from Allied parties that contain reference to Nazism or Nazi symbology.
Books which are reproductions of original publications by Nazi personalities, or which contain information about the Nazi party, or the holocaust, may be listed where they contain information that informs the reader of its historical context e.g. Mein Kampf, academic text books.
        Not permitted:

Historical Nazi-related items, including reproductions such as: Uniforms, uniform components, weapons, medals (not including sports medals), or other items that bear Nazi symbols, whether visible or covered.
Historical Holocaust-related items, including reproductions such as:
Uniforms and personal belongings of concentration camp prisoners
Jewish identification (including armbands, Star of David)
Listings in which images are edited or cropped to try and hide Nazi symbols.
Items that originally had Nazi symbols that have been removed.Items that were owned by Nazi leaders or identities such as:
        Joseph Goebbels
        Hermann Goering
        Rudolf Hess
        Reinhard Heydrich
        Heinrich Himmler
        Adolf Hitler
        Adolf Eichmann
Any item made after 1933 that bears a swastika (e.g., jewelry, clothing, rugs, fabrics, posters), unless expressly permitted in the section above. We appreciate that the swastika symbol is used in religions, including Hinduism and Buddhism. However, we have decided to not allow any non-historic items bearing a swastika as they may be used in support of modern hate groups.
Any other media identified as Nazi propaganda or that otherwise promotes hatred or racial supremacy including historic and current items.
Reproductions of racially or ethically questionable historical items

We allow the sale of items with historical significance in the following contexts:

Items of historical significance which are original in nature. Reproductions of these items are not permitted.
Images of items that contain offensive terms may be listed if it is part of the actual name of the item, but the term cannot be in the title or description of the listing.
Reprints of works of literature or art which are of historical significance.
Art and media listings and products (such as books and music) where the offensive word or phrase is part of the title of the work.
The examples provided above are not intended to be a prescriptive list. Given the wide variety of items relating to these categories, Trade Me reserves the right to remove any listing at its sole discretion. Trade Me will listen to all points of view when making these decisions.

  6. There’s not much that the wankers who get themselves elected to Wairarapa Local Councils get right but they score full marks on unisex toilets. The idea is that each stainless steel cubicle has a shitter, a basin & a lockable door. You enter, close the door, do your business, open the door & depart.

There were the predictable howls of protest, no doubt from the Godaddled, but the reincarnation of the likes of Carterton into a local version of Sodom or Gomorrah has been late materialising. To date there have been few verifiable incidents of six people piling into a toilet together& rumours of an itinerant Muslim having a sexual emergency with his pet goat in cubicle 5 were grossly exaggerated.

But the mileage of those of you who live in cities may vary! 🙂

        • We know that universal registration neither prevents or solves crimes with firearms and is hugely costly (Canada wasted $2 billion before abandoning their futile Bill C 68 in 2012), there is ample evidence from overseas and indeed our own country, we abandoned registration in the late eighties because the register was riddled with errors and served no useful purpose.

But why do the police not maintain a register of stolen firearms, you know, the ones most likely to be used in crimes? Such a register would be relatively small, easy to maintain and would have some tangible benefits such as reuniting owners with their stolen property if police recover guns in the course of other investigations.

          • A good point and worth a try.
            However;
Gun serial numbers are easily ground off, particularly by thieves.

Quite possibly legal fire arms licence holders may already, whether wittingly or unwittingly possess guns where the licence no. is ground off.

Sadly I see even more laws, costs, penalties, threats, Gun Wof’s etc.. coming in to try and get the system to work.

They’re definitely motivated in getting rid of firearms from the formerly law abiding. The police seem to be very fond of the idea of implementing a police state. Power is going to their heads.

    • From our local Rural Police Newsletter received today:

Three unlawful hunters were seen on the property
concerned. One has appeared in court so far and
was fined $3,500. A second man is going through
the court process now. We are still working on
identifying the third person. We will let you know if
      there is any update.
Of the two men we have identified so far, neither has a
firearms licence and they were seen with firearms. One
of the upsetting aspects of this unlawful hunting
investigation was that a deer was left with a severely
injured leg after it had been shot and left suffering. The
landowner had to put the animal down the next day.

Now Jacinda can you tell me how the new laws you announced this afternoon are going to affect this sort of thing? As you can imagine I am on tenter hooks awaiting your reply.

Anyway, where was I before I started drooling? TV. Background. There’s a new show called:

    “My Maori Midwife”

Why? And when will we see: “My Pakeha Midwife”, “My Chinese Midwife”, “My Philippine Midwife” and all assorted other racially segregated forms of midwifery?

Or how about we just do a show called “My Midwife” and leave it at that. Not that I’m keen to see it, but you know, one nation for all and that as Don Brash says so eloquently.

The doctor told him that he couldn’t allow him a triple dose.

    “Why not?” asked the patient.

“Because it’s not safe” replied the doctor.

“But I need it really bad”.

“Well, why do you need it so badly?” asked the doctor.

“My girlfriend is coming into town on Friday, my ex-wife will be here on Saturday & my wife is coming home on Sunday. Can’t you see? I’ve got to have a triple dose!?”

The doctor finally relented saying “All right, I’ll give it to you, but you have to come in on Monday morning so that I can check you to see if there are any side effects”.

On Monday afternoon the man dragged himself into the doctor’s office….. his right arm in a sling.

The doctor asked, “Good God! What happened to you?”

    “No one showed up”.

    Friend —

Co-governance fails at Auckland mountain authority

Dysfunctional co-governance arrangements at Auckland’s ancestor mountain authority show a practical failure of biculturalism.

Co-governance arrangements were embedded in many of the 40 or so treaty settlements that Chris Finlayson completed as Treaty Negotiations Minister in the National/Maori Party Government.

One such arrangement is the Tupuna Maunga Authority that was set up in 2014 to co-govern Auckland’s 14 volcanic cones after the Nga Mana Whenua o Tamaki Makaurau Collective Redress Deed passed into law.

Neighbours have witnessed a somewhat odd saga unfold with the authority installing steel barriers to keep cars out, removing cows, ripping out water troughs, painting over memorial plaques on seating, and felling exotic trees.

Locals were abused at a meeting of the authority in May when they presented a 4000-signature petition to ask the authority to restore the cross/star on Mount Roskill. At that meeting a woman and her young son asked for the felling of heritage trees on Mangere mountain to cease.

Both requests were rejected at the meeting and Maungakiekie-Tamaki Ward councillor Josephine Bartley told the woman who asked for the felling of heritage trees to cease that her views were disgusting.

The meeting was told that the authority was not there to consider the views of the broader community but was there to act in the interests of the “maunga” and Maori.

This apparent rush to decolonise looks like a culture war in which one side of this bicultural group is trying to erase the characteristics of the other side.

This strange group, Tupuna Maunga Authority, which would translate as “ancestor mountain authority”, seems to be operating beyond any authority that could have reasonably been expected and without any controls or accountability.

More reasons to sign our Cook ship petition
Activist Sina Brown Davis and the self-proclaimed “non-plastic Maori” Tina Ngata, in their futile bid to stop the visit of the Cook ship replica in October, are pushing a dodgy version of part of one side of the New Zealand story.

They don’t say anything about the murders and massacres of explorers, settlers and colonists during these turbulent times. It is this risk of misinformation and creation of resentment as a result that makes it so important that our true history is respected.

We need your support to protect the heritage of our nation.

In the past week we collected more than 2100 signatures but we need more so please sign our counter petition to welcome the Endeavour replica to New Zealand by going to http://chng.it/jKMjXXMwGd.

How did Treaty become part of trade talks?
The Treaty of Waitangi has become a “bottom line” in talks about a free trade deal with the United States, along with Pharmac and “our right to regulate”, according to Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern in the New Zealand Herald today. How on earth is the Treaty of Waitangi relevant to a trade deal with the US? Have we all gone nuts? See PM spells out bottom lines for US deal. NZ Herald, July 22, 2019.

That is they in these circumstances would not be a fit and proper person to have a gun licence. That comes close on losing a drivers licence too, as they can be seen as not a fit and proper person. These things are arbitrated through a Court system and so are recognized measures.

      Then it becomes blurred.

Gun licences are only granted if the applicant passes a ‘fit and proper person’ test. New Under the proposed changes, Police could take action if a gun owner encourages or promotes violence, hate or extremism, or shows signs of serious mental ill health or attempts suicide, under the proposed legislation.

So who defines and draws the line, on what is “encourages or promotes”.How is that defined?

“Violence” definition, is that a threat, actual physical, or just being there, being insensitive? Somebody feeling threatened or “triggered”.

“hate or extremism” again who defines and calls it.
Insensitive, offensive or is it just somebody feeling offended. What if it is the truth that some one does not like?
How much will that cost? to go against some tribunal ruling?

“serious mental health or attempts suicide” is more easily defined, as supposedly it is Doctors and Courts involved in making the decision.
So far we trust the government’s mental institutions are not a form of gulag.

    • Jacinda Ardern; do you really want to be the Prime Minister that brings state monitoring of its citizens in?

Of course you do, you’re a fucking Communist.

But how have the rest of New Zealand gone from a country that has privacy at it’s heart, to supporting surveillance of the population?
