One house direct percentage of the vote and a second house by electorate votes only. They should be offset years for elections too. Yesterday, my Parole Officer and I had to go to Wanganui for lunch and went there via SH4 (Taumarunui- Raetihi-Wanganui) and we decided to come home from Wanganui through Jerusalem and Pipiriki and on through to Raetihi along the Wanganui River Road. This road is long, sealed but narrow. Plenty of wild deer and other feral livestock on the roadside.
If you have not travelled this road, I can highly recommend it as one of the truly great drives in the North Island, it is well worth it.
TAH. I can remember doing part of that road when I was a kid. Unsealed in those days and even though I was car sick as a dog I can recall the great scenery. Thanks for letting us know it is sealed now, will put it on the to do list.

I went to offer my support to the TFRC vigil outside Mt Eden prison today and I initially thought I’d offer to get them takeaway coffees or something; thinking maybe there would be a few people under a gazebo.
When I got there I found several gazebos (about 6 ot 7 big ones) with lots of supporters under smaller ones too and it lifted my heart to see them and chat. And they didn’t need my coffee… THEY made ME a coffee and they even offered me some lunch 😀!
