(1) A good mates 24 year old son has a stroke 2 days after getting the snake bite,
(2) A good friend working in the mines in northern Queensland has heart problems / myocarditis 3 days after his snake bite jab and is airlifted to Brisbane hospital and nearly dies,
(3) my eldest son has a persistent cough for months after his 2nd clot shot which is only just starting to clear now,
(4) And now yesterday my eldest sons wifes uncle 44 years old is in North shore hospital with a heart attack after the Booster shot.

Friend of mine suffering with a horrible persistent cough and breathing difficulties since his clot shots. He’s been to A&E twice because of breathing difficulties and lots of thick green phlegm. Although I’m onside with that theory it’s worth noting that today’s new build has a projected economic life of 40 years. That’s from a registered master builder who did some alterations to our near new retirement home.
Cladding & plumbing were two issues I can recall him mentioning.

Now I have a few oldies around the 50 year mark. Need a refurb but the building is sound. Will last another 50 and none of them have been leaky, cold, uninhabitable and will withstand an earthquake or two as is proven in their 50 years.
Don’t expect any of that from the new ones, especially if 1. they have a concrete floor 2. If they have steel fromes that are already rusting throughand bend in an earthquake and buckle in a fire, 3. Have untreated fromes that will rot when wet. All houses get wet sometime in their lives.
Water pipes bust and that’s happening increasingly frequently.
Ask you local major carpet cleaners. they know.
Oh and my Grandma’s house was built way back a year ago, I mean 1910. still there and its atiny house by today’s standards among many Wellington’s old tiny houses. Had a biggish section so could be build back a bit. Still looks good.

Right on. That’s the major weakness in modern builds. The concrete is laid over the piping but where the starters emerge & go through the bottom plate is the problem. Too tight a clearance (aka poor workmanship) & the bottom plate acts like a guillotine. Happened to friends of ours & by the time the concrete was jackhammered out, the rot in the walls repaired, the walls reclad, vinyl replaced there wasn’t much change out of $40,000. Insurance paid less than half due to the age of the building & the fact that it was an existing fault.
Untreated wood is a disaster waiting for a place to happen but we can thank the know-nothing Greens for their help in creating that mess.
Another issue with concrete floors is building them way too low to the ground. Once landscaping is done the surrounding ground level is often higher that the floor. It also means light surface flooding washes through your house.
They do it to save costs and avoid a step. Insurers should triple the cost for those homes and banks should demand 60% deposit – for any home less than 300 mm above ground.
The building regs stipulate a minimum floor height of 150 mm min. to paved ground & 225 mm min. to unpaved ground but in some cases it’s definitely not enough. Still, nothing is allowed to come between a mad woman & her indoor/outdoor flow so these clearance tend to disappear after time.
That said the insurance companies are getting shitty about flood damage. The crap climate change mantra pops up but soon householders who bugger around with natural drainage will be left penniless in the event of flooding.
People are building bigger and bigger houses on smaller and smaller plots of land. They go for size over quality.
Many of them leak, even now. Due largely to poor design. People want pretentious wanker architecture to impress their fuckwit mates. Some of the design features I see are appallingly ugly and impractical.

No intentions of selling, zero intentions of buying a second property.

We’re also not tied to banks for finance and sitting on enough other assets and investments to fully pay off our mortage should SHTF.

It is my hope that we can get hundreds and preferably thousands to turn up outside the New Plymouth Police Station. And then thousands to turn up to arrest the Minister of Health Andrew James Little at his place of residence in Taranaki or at any other place that he may be located.

NZ has a low wage economy & relies too much on overseas labour wanting a paid working holiday to fill seasonal jobs. I’ve never driven a harvester & never intend to but it is skilled work. Similarly I drove for a rural cartage firm for 18 years, a job described as semi- skilled labour & paid accordingly.
It is beyond me how large firms operating trucks & machinery worth millions are quite happy to have a dutch auction when they’re hiring then bleat like mismothered lambs when the labour units extend their middle fingers rather than work long, irregular hours for shit wages.
Nassky headers (or “combine harvester” if youre a yank) are piss easy to drive/operate and the late model ones dial themselves in and full autosteer so the driver essentially is just a passanger that turns the machine at the end of the paddock.
Drove the fuckers for 3 years in WA, my boss was a miserable tight bastard and of the 47 new cr9060 headers imported that year ours was the only one without autosteer… he rekoned we would watch closer and not smash the front up on big rocks… bosses son stoved it in big time and i spent all winter rebuilding it!
Saggy, a bulk of the grain goes to moo cows, a bit to beer and piss all of the harvest is to flour. Think they even immport a chunk of milling wheat depending on seasons as in nz its a bit harder to finish the wheat to milling specs (hardness)
As for the guys spuds… thats shit work and they usually pay spud harvesters crap for what they have to endure. The pig farmers are all selling up soni suggest the guy give up on miq and buy a heap of hogs to dig and chomp tge spuds win win

Kiwifruit , apples, berry fruit and dozens of other industries including building have this same issue. Right now Kiwifruit are paying upwards of $30.00 an hour, so good people make a reasonable living.
But like Naaska I’ve wondered why a company pays so little for drivers when they are punching rigs worth a lot of money and often with high value loads. The answer, tguys just like driving trucks, listen to them when in a group. Its what they like to do.
Why has this happened. Misplaced incentives over the last 40 years, which is a reason we have so many Maori men in jail.
