Still dark here but the wind has finally stopped blowing. Drove through west Auckland on Saturday, the amount of infill housing going on is truly amazing and utterly horrible. Along Te Atatu road about every tenth house on a quarter acre section has been replaced with about ten two storied rabbit hutches built right out to the foot path. I thought the whole idea of living in the suburbs was you had a nice house and section. Why would anyone want to live in these dumps? There is tons of spare land all over Auckland, they don’t need to do this to people. The world is becoming a strange place.

They are trying to make Auckland look like a grown up city .It amuses me that Auckland developers are making modern terraced housing but if you go to places like Melbourne the old housing may retain its terraced look from the street but i most cases they have become McMansions out the back.

A dedicated Level 2 circuit for EV charging has a load of 2.5kW to 19.2kW (depending on stage of charging) but typically draws 6.6kW.
2 x 6.6kW = 13.2kW out of a 15kW max load. Two EVs & cheese on toast is getting well into fuse blowing territory.
So a normal load then for an average house then, and a light load for several house on the same pole.
You forgot the underfloor heating or heatpumps (a heatpump pulls as much as a water heater), kettle, electric blankets, bedroom heater, lights, computers. What about the wife’s iRon, hair dryer, bathroom heater, downstairs bar? What about the oven? Cooking soup and warming garlic bread in the oven pulls a few kw.

A couple points on this —it seems to be old report because they refer to it being “considered by the Morrison Government”.
Also this sort of “checking” occurs in Aussie in other areas. I had to go to a lawyer over there a couple of years ago. Just to get in the door for the initial meeting I had to fill out a form giving multiple forms of identification, each having different levels of points, with total needed being 100.

The safety nazis created a lot of that problem themselves. After a bad crash involving traffic heading north on SH2 piling into a slow moving truck turning right out of Norman Ave (formerly the main entrance to the Waingawa works the Carterton DC closed the intersection forcing all traffic to use the Norfolk Rd intersection then follow the line south to Norman Ave.
This meant that all truck movements to Mainfreight or Kiwi Lumber involved a 90° turn right off Waingawa Rd to cross the railway line instead of approaching the rail at right angles.
It’s not a good situation for the driver. He can only see the rail line north through his R/H mirror which is angled to the rear of his rig, not the line. It’s a hopeless angle to get a clear line of sight.
This is what I believe caused the accident referred to in the report.
It looks like stock markets and currencies are returning to their levels of six months ago. There has been a lot of froth in the markets lately.

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. once retrieved a bear that was killed by a motorist and left it in New York’s Central Park with a bicycle on top, sparking a mystery that consumed the city a decade ago.
In the video, Kennedy recounts the story to actress Roseanne Barr. He says he was heading to a falconry excursion with friends when a woman driving ahead of him hit and killed the young bear with her vehicle. He says he put it in his own vehicle, intending to skin it and eat the meat, but the day got away from him.
Eventually, he says, he was in Manhattan and needed to get the bear carcass out of his vehicle. His friends, fuelled by alcohol, concocted the Central Park plan as a prank, he said, adding he was not drunk himself.
At the time, bicycle accidents were getting significant media attention, so Kennedy and his friends thought it would be funny to make it look like the bear was hit by a bicycle.
