  1. When president Zelenskys ally Kozytsky the governor of the Lviv region says ” some of the western countries have double standards and are cowards” is he speaking of our 2 faced POS of a PM who is refusing point blank to send any deadly military weapons to Ukraine??
She won’t send equipment to a Country fighting for it’s future but will gladly give away her own Country to a small group of noisy whining troughers without a second of thought for the other 4 1/2 million residents of NZ, the traitorous treasonous C- -T that she is.

    • Cindy should send ukraine all our left over pfizer jabs so theyre well protected from death or hospitalization.

Seriously tho it is pretty messed up she condemns the takeover of a country once held by mother russia yet shes totally complicit in doing the exact same here with the bros taking back their old land of aotearoa just without the tanks and guns.
Cindy and nania are also upset china are wanting to setup closer to nz/aus in the solomons yet theyre totally fine with nato and the usa doing same to russia.

I see china is now accusing aussie the the AUKUS deal is likened to nato trying to setup next to russia, china claiming its a threat to them… watch this space i rekon that will be their ammo to setting up on the solomons or somewhere else nearby.

“And the threats were real,” wife Karen Chard, who also served in the RNZAF, said.”
Oh those terrible anti-vaccine and anti-mandate protesters, saw it on the news, so pleased Jacinda didn’t talk to them, Trevor gave them a good washing though, they would need it. Just wish they would put on the news all the faeces on the lawns that they wrecked and the pitchforks they were all carrying – funny, near saw any of that.

      • Every discussion I’ve seen among “those protestors” there has been unanimous agreement that the time and place rule applies to Anzac Day. I don’t know where wife Karen Chard get her information but I suspect she’s cutting off her nose (and everyone else’s) to spite her face.
Now Anzac Day has been cancelled in New Plymouth, we’ll never know if protestors were planning to attend but wife Karen Chard can be proud she had the power to stop everyone in their tracks, and Graham gets to go home norbs absentium.

  5. Mainstream media calling bullshit bold, effective and risky.

It was an attention-grabbing assertion that made headlines around the world: U.S. officials said they had indications suggesting Russia might be preparing to use chemical agents in Ukraine.

It’s one of a string of examples of the Biden administration’s breaking with recent precedent by deploying declassified intelligence as part of an information war against Russia. The administration has done so even when the intelligence wasn’t rock solid, officials said, to keep Russian President Vladimir Putin off balance.

  6. (contd.) As Agnes’ heart stopped her conscious being followed a brilliant light, she followed it down a tunnel, it became an escalator and at the top of the escalator she found the famed pearly gates to Heaven. To the side of the gates was a hole, she glanced down the hole and saw that it was a chute down to Hell, she could see an enormous room with a banqueting table loaded with lobster, steak, caviar, vintage wines, fruit, Cognac, and other such fine fayre. An orchestra played and the room was filled with the sound of carousing from the happy adulterers, tyrants, murderers, rapists, homosexuals, paedophiles and Kiwiblog Mods.

The pearly gates swung open St Peter welcomed her into Heaven, before long she was with God and Jesus but puzzled that Heaven seemed empty. After a while Jesus said to her “Agnes, I’m going to make luncheon sausage sandwiches, is that OK with you?”

Agnes replied “Lord I am puzzled, I saw Hell and the Godless people live in great luxury, I have led a good life I suppose that I had hoped Heaven would be better than Hell?”

Jesus sighed and replied “I know but it’s just not worth the effort of cooking for the 4 of us!”

  7. From the Herald
“Police data obtained by the National Party shows that, in Auckland City for example, 49 new officers have joined the force since 2017 compared to 107 new gang recruits. In Waikato, the difference was stark: 95 new police officers since 2017 compared to 259 new gang members. The same goes for Wellington: 62 new officers since 2017 in contrast to 430 gang member recruits.”

Of these “new gang recruits,” what percentage would self-identify as Maori? If the answer matches the proportion found in the general population of young males of recruiting age (let’s say ages 10-23) that will be one thing; however, if 60% or a higher percentage of new gang recruits self-identify as Maori when out of the entire NZ population of male youth aged 10-23 the percentage who self-identify as Maori is 20%, then we have a significant racial bias.

When asked by AM co-host Ryan Bridge whether he accepted any responsibility for any of the costs imposed on businesses that could lead to inflation, Parker said no.

“We accept responsibility as a Government to help people through this but no we haven’t caused these price increases.”

      • Labour seem to be having some kind of arrogance competition. It’s like they just say what ever they like and don’t care how false or misleading it might be. Inflation was clearly caused by pouring money into the economy, squandering billions on pet projects with no accountability and and keeping interest rates too low. Even an idiot like Parker can work that out. I suppose when you have the media in your pocket and know you won’t be asked any hard questions it becomes an easy thing to do. The only problem is sooner or later people are going to work out the emperor has no clothes. Poto Williams is a prime example of this. Once the cards start falling it will be very hard to stop, particularly with the caliber of the M.P’s they surround themselves with. Little, Wood, Woods, Poto, Jackson, Davis, Robertson, Verall, Clark, etc. FJA.

  11. The claim by Putin that his invasion was one of the denazification of Ukraine is clearly bogus. For example Russia.s past appeal and support for the Wests far right and neo Nazi fringe groups is legion with a common hatred of LGBT and gay rights , anti immigration and refugees , Anti Islam etc , etc . A conference to that end was held in St Petersburg 2015 the International Russian Conservative Forum .

The spirit and resolutions from this conference is ongoing with Putin and the Kremlin translating this support with athe horrors visited upon Ukraine Citizens . The latest to be uncovered is Berestyanka 25ks from Bucha

Modern slavery: Government wants to require organisations to address worker exploitation
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2022/04/modern-slavery-government-wants-to-require-organisations-to-address-worker-exploitation.html

The Government wants to require organisations to ensure there are no signs of modern slavery in their supply chains and to take action if any evidence of worker exploitation is found.

Described by Workplace Relations and Safety Minister Michael Wood as “transformative work”, the proposals come after years of advocacy by human rights groups who say New Zealand has been “lagging behind the rest of the world” in combating exploitative practices.

They’d also have to “undertake due diligence to prevent, mitigate and remedy modern slavery and worker exploitation by New Zealand entities where they are the parent or holding company or have significant contractual control”.

  17. NEW ZEALAND’S GOLD RESERVES (IF ANY)

This is perhaps an odd question, but as MOST countries in the world (Even some of the poorest in Africa) have at least some Gold Reserves (Invariably held at either the Bank of England or in Fort Knox), does New Zealand (At one time gold producer of considerable size), actually have ANY gold reserves, and, if so, what is the quantity that is held and where?

    Thanks.

    10

    0

    • And just ‘where’ would NZ hold those “gold reserves” and who and how much would they pay for holding them?

I think not in gold, but in foreign exchange, but what quiet slippage has occurred, particularly over the last 5 years?

Would that be like the oil reserves held in Britain & Spain?

…. Energy Minister Megan Woods separately announced the Government had agreed to release about 184,000 barrels of crude oil reserves held in Spain and about 299,000 barrels of diesel reserves held in the UK. ….
      https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/128308632/nz-may-sanction-more-russian-banks-luxury-goods-export-ban-also-possible

What was the old story “Where ****** goes, New Zealand goes”.
That will tell who our Master is, and will kiwis put up with the “pain”?

    • Komata, some years ago, in another life I was the President of a Western BOP Rotary Club and got the Chief Geologist from Oceania Gold, an Australian Company who owns the Martha Mine in Waihi along to speak.

He advised that the Martha Mine at Waihi was, (if I remember correctly) the 8th largest Gold and Silver producing mine in the world.

But what got my attention was his comment that New Zealand had far more mineral wealth in the ground per square kilometre than anything comparable in Australia. He also stated that New Zealand would never benefit from it as the Greens here will do anything to prevent it’s extraction. A pity, he said, as the benefit to this country would be immense.

The Gold & Silver refined from Matha went then to Australia. As to the country’s Gold Reserves, after this Government has finished it will be in the ounces, not Tonnes as it should be.

      13

      • TAH@1526

I agree completely with the assessment you heard and (Also from another life; the details don’t matter) am very familiar with the industry.

The comment about the greens is an accurate one, and in that regard it is useful to be aware that the greens attitude could most politely be described as being one of total self-interest, and has absolutely NOTHING to do with what is underground, but everything to do with the very profitable production of Coromandel Gold (No, not the mineral). It has been that way for decades, largely as a result of the arrival (in the mid 1960’s) of various American fugitives / draft dodgers from the Vietnam war with their predeliction for grass, and it is THAT which prompts the ‘anti-mining’ protests, and then only because the mining operations get in the way of the cash crop.

FWIW: There is definitely more gold and silver underground on the Coromandel than was ever taken out, BUT, the cost of extraction is the key, since (For example), if gold is worth $100 an ounce (It isn’t; it’s far higher) and it’s going to cost $300 to extract and process it, then it simply isn’t worth the effort. The greens only serve to ADD to the cost, as their petty self-serving sabotage of machinery and illegal invasions of legally-granted leases slows things down and also requires the implementation of security in various forms; all requiring expenditure of funds that could be far better used for exploration nd extraction.

As a result the area stagnates and declines and only the gweens get the profit, while all the while bleatin about how concerned they are about protecting ‘The Environment’ (But only for THEIR economic gain).

It’s a crazy situation and unless things change and the all the weeds wither and die, it is unlikely that anything will ever change. The ‘Counter culture’ is now too well-ingrained, and those who rail against the ‘filthy capitalist west’ are in fact doing very nicely thank you and have absolutely NO problem with being exactly the self-same ‘filthy capitalists’ they so piously-decry.

The contradiction and irony of such actions is, of course, not realised.

        Thank you.

    • Govt would need to be solvent to purchase gold. With Robbo running up huge debts and wasting our generational capital on virtue signalling projects that have and are failing, no chance. Many private companies are debt laden zombies living on cheap re-financing. That option just ended. Gold reserves are too easily pissed away by panicking politicians, as their currencies run. NZ has one of the worst exposures as we have much foreign debt, but few wealth generating hard assets on the books – coal, oil, minerals, industrial exports. Tourism is fickle. China owns many offshore assets throughout the pacific. What does NZ own? Gold reserves would only come from a position of financial strength. NZ hanging on by it’s fingernails. Delete the choking regulations, and NZ would boom. It has a culture of self sufficiency.

    1. Shut down the economy and destroy tens of thousands of businesses so there’s no wealth creation.

    2. Massively increase debt levels to artificially inflate house prices directly against the market forces described at 1. above. By printing free money.

    3. Tell everyone they are rich because of house price inflation.

    4. Now you’ve got them over a barrel, whack up interest rates.

  21. FYI.
On April 9, 1966 – The Vatican canceled the Index of Forbidden Books, which had existed for more than four centuries. The persecution of authors and their works began, presumably, with the birth of writing. With the development of printing and the growth of literacy, this process became more and more widespread. The Church was not a pioneer in this area, but gave the process a systematic approach, banning and destroying objectionable theological, scientific and literary works.

As Emile Zola wrote, “There are almost no books on which the Church would not vomit its thunders.

EV owners warned to ‘plan ahead’ of using Transmission Gully
Electric vehicle owners are being warned to top up if heading over Transmission Gully, because the steep road will drain their batteries faster than the old coastal route.

Laura drove her Nissan Leaf from Waikanae to Wellington earlier this week and said because of the gradient of the road as well as the wind buffeting the vehicle used more power than when she drove the old route around the coast.

“When I drive to Wellington I get there with more than 60 per cent battery at the end, but [over Transmission Gully] I arrived to Wellington with 52-53 [per cent], which is quite a big difference.”

Laura said she previously did the round trip to work and back on a single charge, but she would not risk that now.
