    • Yeah, NZ’s got LOTS of gas. You know, that clean-burning stuff, unlike the millions of tonnes of filthy coal we’re importing each year. Trouble is, Cindy is forcing us to pollute more heavily by banning us from access to those gas reserves.

      • Saggy ,only incompetent fuckwits could come up with this,,
” let’s stop all gas and coal exploration and wind back on using our own gas and coal ,then we’ll import filthy coal by the 100s of thousands of tons annually to fix our energy supply problems, oh and by the way let’s close down our ability to process our own Petroleum products in Marsden point”
The closing of Marsden point I believe will end up being the most financially damaging and crippling of all Arderns fuckwit ideas.

  1. Morning Troopers,

The Lie Minister has been caught out saying that she’s been absolutely clear, and her position hasn’t changed on wealth tax, despite the fact she has two contradicting positions. Must be hard to remember all the porkies, as the stories you spin become increasingly tangled.

Jacinda Ardern tried to clear up wealth tax rule-out, but ended up muddying the waters

  3. Good morning one and all, another day in o’shitsville, in what used to be the land of the free and happy. I actually would be happy to see each and everyone of the MPs relieved of their high paying salaries and bonus positions, but I fear in these times either dear leader or nude nut will get in again and we will not see or know any difference, or maybe nude nut will think about the tax increases for the one and only time there will be a difference in the regime change. When will the people wake up to this? I don’t think they will, I feel very despondent this morning after reading of Matt King and others getting a banning order. I guess I have had a lot of years feeling proud to be a Kiwi. Sadly not any more. All I can say is stay strong Matt King, you have my vote anyone else is a pathetic woke piece of S..T

  5. ANZ, New Zealand’s biggest home lender, is increasing the interest rate it uses to test whether borrowers will be able to continue making loan repayments if interest rates rise significantly.

ANZ is increasing what it calls its Servicing Sensitivity Rate to 7.15% from 6.7%.
“We now apply 7.15% as our Servicing Sensitivity Rate when assessing affordability, to take into account that interest rates can move over the term of a loan,” an ANZ spokeswoman told interest.co.nz.

      • ROl
It is more than just the interest rate figure and I’m sure you know it. The prices people are paying for houses have risen a hell of a lot more than salaries/wages over that period and so with higher mortgages the squeeze will come on long before rates get to what they were 25 years ago.
For example a young couple along the road paid $750K for their house a couple of years ago. If, and I’m only guessing, they had a $100-$150k deposit at the time (which would have required some serious saving on their part, considering their age ) then they have a $600-$650 k mortgage. A few percent increase in the rates puts a major dent in any disposable income, if they have any. From what I hear their situation would not be unusual.

        • Yep and it is rates and insurance added to bank interest rates, petrol, food etc etc on and on it goes. These are the items we have no control over. It’s bloody tough owning a home to live in no matter what age the owner is. I feel for everyone apart from the liarbour voters however most of them do not realise or make excuses for her that this is life under communistic rule. First you vote in liarbour, cause she is??????? I really don’t know attractive??? better than what we had??? I have no knowledge of liarbour voters minds. Actually I am really fucked if I know how their minds work. Then before you know it, well,,,,, after the Tarrant incident then the covid incident which she dragged on for over two years, then before they knew it, there she is a full blown communist treating us like we do not matter at all to her. https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/travel/2022/05/covid-19-us-tells-americans-to-reconsider-travel-to-new-zealand.html

The United States has upgraded its travel advice for New Zealand, telling Americans to “reconsider travel” here.

The specific advisory on the US State Department website said: “Reconsider travel to New Zealand due to COVID-19-related restrictions. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has determined New Zealand has a high level of COVID-19. There are restrictions in place affecting US citizen entry into New Zealand.”

ACT leader David Seymour clashed with Green MP Chlöe Swarbrick during a tense interview about wealth tax on Tuesday.

It comes after Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern was forced to clarify her stance on a wealth tax on Monday. Speaking with AM on Monday morning, Ardern wouldn’t rule out a wealth tax despite previously promising not to introduce one.

But Swarbrick said a wealth tax was the solution and would eradicate poverty while only affecting the top six percent of Kiwis.

Barfoot & Thompson’s median price down by $99,000 from its December peak

Barfoot & Thompson sold just 615 residential properties in April, down from 1107 in April last year. That’s a fall of 44%.
It was the lowest number of properties the agency has sold in the month of April since 2008, apart from April 2020 when New Zealand was in a Covid-19 lockdown.

Conversely, the agency’s stock levels are rising.

The Prime Minister won’t say if it’s appropriate for a former National MP to be trespassed from Parliament’s grounds, while Christopher Luxon expects other high-profile protest attendees to be treated the same way.

“Those are issues fundamentally for the Speaker and the trespass laws that are sitting in this place around Parliament,” Luxon replied. “My question is, as long as he is treating everyone equally, that is a challenge you’ve got to ask him.”

“I am sure [the Speaker] will apply equality and fairness to everybody,” Luxon replied when asked if he was saying he would also like to see Winston Peters trespassed. Peters, the former deputy Prime Minister, toured the protest site one day in February.

  15. More on the Piopio farm house invasion, where the aggravated burglar’s finger was hacked off.

…. admitted breaking into Burr snr’s house a third time, including a week earlier, taking the keys and wallet from the pocket of Burr’s pants, which were hung over a chair in the dining room.

In questioning him about the latest burglary, Morgan said the boy had accompanied his girlfriend down the hallway to Burr’s bedroom; each armed with a wine bottle and he with a knife and torch.

    “Yep,” he replied.

“Then you woke him up by saying ‘give me your f*****g keys or I will kill you?” Morgan asked.

“Yeah, that’s what I said,” the teen replied.

He also admitted having been driven down from Auckland that night, drinking Cody’s bourbon and smoking marijuana during the three-hour journey, before a brief stop in Te Kuiti, then heading to Burr snr’s house to again steal his car.

The teen said it was his girlfriend who hit Burr first as he lay in bed, then he did.

“Yep, he was lying down on the bed and then I smacked him.”

When asked why he also had a broom, the teen replied, “for a weapon”.

“So you had got together two wine bottles, a knife and a broom to deal with Mr Burr,” Morgan asked.

    “Yep,” he replied.

A scuffle then erupted that lasted several minutes which only ended once Burr snr said he had given up and that the teen could take his keys, which he told him were back in the kitchen.

Burr snr told him to go look for them again in the kitchen. The teen ruffled around, swearing and threatening to kill him while armed with his weapons.

The girlfriend also ended up in the kitchen when he saw Burr snr, standing just in his undies, armed with a shotgun pointed at them.

The first 111 call Burr snr first made was also played to the jury.

“Don’t move or I will shoot you bastards,” he says at the pair as he talks to the operator.

Shaun Burr then arrived, and the teen admitted in questioning with Morgan, that he tried to get up but then was punched to the ground by Burr jnr.

He was then asked repeatedly to put both his hands out in front of him – as he was laying on his left hand holding a knife.

When questioned why he held the knife under his body, the teen replied, “to stab them”.

“And when you were going to get to your feet were you going to stab them,” Morgan asked him?

    “Yep.”

It was then Burr snr said that if he didn’t put his left hand out, that he could cut off his finger.

The teen said he refused so Burr jnr started cutting his finger before getting a piece of wood and banging it down on the butter knife.

“But you didn’t feel it,” Morgan asked?

    “Nah,” he said.

Asked what he was going to do to the Burrs if his friends arrived to help him, the teen said, “f*** them up”.

Piopio Constable Tony Schrafft then arrived and took photos of the teen’ lying on the ground.

He was asked by Schrafft if he was okay and replied, “yeah”.

“And then you went on to say that you were going to f****** kill them,” Morgan put to him.
    “Yep,” the teen replied.

He continues to give evidence and will soon be cross-examined by Burr jnr’s counsel Simon Lance.

The trial is set down for a week and is being overseen by Justice Grant Powell.

  21. So the bitch is sliding out from under?

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has asked Speaker Trevor Mallard to speak to other parties about the decision to trespass former deputy prime minister Winston Peters from Parliament.

Peters blamed Mallard for the move.

On Monday night, Mallard said the decisions about trespass were being made by Parliamentary security, not him.
But Ardern said the decision “ultimately” rested with Mallard and she has asked him to call together the Parliamentary Services Commission, so all parties could discuss the decision.

“Ultimately, this does sit with the Speaker, but I think it is useful for parties to be able to hear him out about how he came to the decision and to make a joint-decision as much as they’re able to about whether or not MPs should ultimately be treated differently than everyone else.”

He had a long article in the local rag last week saying what a great idea it was to get rid of our water system which has run well since Adam was a cowboy, but there again, our current Mayor thinks the local IWI are absolutely wonderful and deserve everything that can be given to them.

The Mayor however has not consulted with the local Ratepayers of this community and infact had the Council spend a fortune with Simpson Grierson to come up with an opinion that it was not necessary for Council to discuss this 3 Waters proposal with local ratepayers.

When Maahoota was asked if she had consulted with anyone before appointing Wall to the newly created position she airily replied, “oh look it would be unusual to consult”.

The arrogance of these people is astounding.

In an unprovoked and random attack, Lambert viciously stabbed four people multiple times in the Cumberland Street store almost a year ago on May 10, 2021.

Judge Eaton said Lambert’s attack “shocked the nation” and it was “miraculous” that no one was killed. The judge set a minimum term of 6.5 years in jail before Lambert will be eligible for parole.

MPs meet to discuss trespass policy after Winston Peters banned from Parliament for two years

    Trevor Mallard
    @SpeakerTrevor
The Parliamentary Service Commission met today to consider the narrow question of whether former MPs should be exempted from the general policy that resulted in trespass orders being issued to those identified as trespassing during recent protests at parliament.

Mallard earlier insisted trespass decisions were made by Parliamentary security, not him. But his boss said otherwise.

“Ultimately, this is a decision for the Speaker,” Ardern said.
