  1. Why do idiots that support the Labour Party and that is supported by the Labour Party, wish to become Politicians.

Look at the fool, Efeso Collins who wants to be Mayor of Auckland.

He says this. “In one of his first key campaign speeches, the Manukau councillor said more police on the beat, better resources to support young people and getting local businesses to the table will make communities safer.”

What does “getting local businesses to the table” mean? Or is this just glib meaningless and empty words.

He also wants to get more Police on the beat. It is not his job as Mayor to get Police “On the beat”. It is his job to pressure Central Government Politicians and the Minister of Police in particular, to get more resources allocated to get more Police “On the Beat” as he, as Mayor, has no power and should have no budget in this field. More empty words and hollow promises.

Collins also said this “He also wants to sharpen up the Council’s spending on employment programmes to help young people from school to education to jobs and “into lives of importance”.

Is that the job of, a Council or is it the job of Central Government? In my opinion it is not the job of a local Council to be involving themselves in Employment issues or prospects. That is the role of Central Government to create the best employment environment.

Collins has been an Auckland City Councilor for six years and in that time Auckland has slipped further into the Shithole that it now is. Why would he as Mayor see Auckland improving as it definitely hasn’t under the watch he has been involved in.

Further, I note from the article, not one word mentioned about the excrement that continually flows from the Auckland Sewer System into Auckland Harbour and what he would do as Mayor, to improve that disgrace, a disgrace as a current Auckland City Councilor, he has been part of for years.

Collins, another piss weak man who sounds like he is auditioning for a role as a Central Government Politician, not a man who has the City for which he wants to be Mayor of, at heart.

  2. Must have got out of bed on the wrong side this morning.

Cost of imported petrol according to MBIE for the week ended 10th June.

“Importers paid $1.63 per litre for 91, and $1.66 for 95, in the week to June 10.”

And yet according to Gaspy in Auckland at BP Mangere you will pay $3.32 litre and often around $3.28 litre in other places for 91 Octane.

Two questions. If there is only a difference of 3 cents in the importation costs between 91 and 95 Octane, why is there a difference of around $0.30 litre at the pump? Is this not price gouging by Oil companies & petrol retailers or is there excessive tax on this type of fuel?

Second, why the difference of $1.71 per litre of 91 Octane between the importation and retail price. Well over 100 per cent markup.

Between the Government and the Oil Companies, they are just bending the public over. And I thought the most transparent Government this country had, held an enquiry into fuel prices and why thy were so high.

Obviously with no outcome, Labour did not want to expose themselves as being party to robbing New Zealanders blind,

      • SB, why would MBIE be quoting in USD, although international trade in this commodity is in that currency.

Every figure quoted seems to be quoted in NZD as no figures show anything other than NZ Dollars including taxes, pump prices, importation costs etc.

The lot seems to me to be an absolute rort on the consumer of this country.

When I was in the Republic of Ireland many moons ago they used to come around the pubs asking that we give to the cause… of course everyone did. • The duck is been let out of school at half term,
because he has become too much of a distraction and a rallying piont for the protestors!
His replacement looks to be piss weak and will not be able to protect cindy!
So what is cindys options, turn up to work everyday and get beaten around the ears for it, or she could go visit some more kindys, but there can’t be any she has not visited yet and besides, them nasty protesters will be there and alot have only one entrance and she doesn’t want to be photographed jumping the fence!
Which leaves only one option, go on holiday, sorry, jollies to exotic overseas places to wine and dine, sup lattas and scoff smashed arvo on toast!
Then she will get married to the humble fisherman from Gisbourne in the largest wedding ever seen in NZ, with media idiots falling over them selves to be seen. At the same time I bet the poolice force will turn out a bigger force than the protest at parliament to enforce seperation from the public!
Then shortly after a honeymoon on the company jet, she will abdicate and leave our shores for ever the pitchforks and burning torches await her return!

The incident happened at ‘The Happy Puku’ last week, with CCTV footage showing the man spray painting the banner – owned by Te Tuinga Whānau Support Services Trust.

On the banner, which originally read “one love, three shots – boost it, bro” – the man has allegedly crossed out “one love” and written “no clot”. A skull was also drawn.

She’ll Always Be Cindy To Me (A Love Song for Jacinda Ardern)
    https://rumble.com/v18vpvj-shell-always-be-cindy-to-me-a-love-song-for-jacinda-ardern.html
    3 mins 40 secs : une 18, 2022

Tune of Billy Joel’s She’s Always a Woman, to me
    Lyrics;—-
She’ll Always Be Cindy To Me:
    .
She’s like tits on a bull, but the left idolise her,
Our team of five million? She sold it to Pfizer
    It’s not chauvinism, or misogyny,
She can declare her pronouns but she’ll always be Cindy to me.

    .
She can pretend to care, she can furrow her brow,
She can fix housing markets, just don’t ask her how,
And she prints lots of money, like it grows on a tree,
Blame it on someone else now that petrol’s at $3.33.
    .
Oh…. She takes care of your health. Socialism by Stealth,
    It’s a vast over reach

Oh… and she’s painfully woke, and she can’t take a joke,

She just calls it hate speech.
    .
She’s vain to a fault, she’s flaky and fickle
She’s building back better with hammer and sickle,
She’s Lenin in leggings, she’s a trotting Trotsky,

We’re the next Venezuela, and she’ll always be Cindy to me.
    .
    Hmmmmm…..
    .
Oh…. She takes care of herself, Redistributes your wealth,
Waves her hands like a mime.

Oh… has her snout in the trough, before galloping off,

She’s just biding her time.
    .
She tells you be kind when she’s really quite cruel,
If somebody sneezes she’ll shut down your school,
But she will be evicted in 2-23,
But she’ll get a job by just calling Klaus Schwab

And she’ll always be Cindy to me.
    .

Hmmmmmm….. Hmmmm…..

Sing this in the back of the bus, or train. 🙂

  6. I asked the wife when did she first become aware of Matariki. She said, “just recently”.

Her father, a fluent speaker of te reo, raised on an East Coast marae, educated at Te Aute College – a school steeped in Maori culture and tradition, had an extensive collection of books on Maori history etc, who gave evidence at Waitangi Tribunal hearings on historical matters and yet had never breathed a word to her about Matariki.

Her mother with a smidgin of non Maori blood grew up in a small Maori community outside of Gisborne and worked in kohanga reo before her retirement. Her distinguished brother was used as a Crown expert witness to give evidence in Court on tikanga- Maori protocol and traditional custom, and she too never once mentioned Matariki to her daughter.

You don’t need to be too bright to work out why the wife’s parents hid this great traditional Matariki celebration from her.

These things don’t happen in isolation. Think of this Kwanzaa festivity that the hapless non-African American vice president of the USA claimed she used to celebrate as a child, or the Juneteenth holiday. This Matariki BS has the UN’s fingerprints all over it.

  10. Mike Hunty, I think wrote this letter 🙂
Very concerned how the leaves turn into the Magic Money Tree, MMT of the Modern Monetary Theory MMT
    .
….deep concern at the increasingly political role that the Reserve Bank governor is performing and the risk this presents to the credibility, professionalism and independence of the Reserve Bank. …
    .
……. its entire focus is on matters Maori, including a potted (and far from accurate) history of the colonial development of New Zealand and its impact on Maori.
It places heavy emphasis on Maori culture and language, and the supposed righting of wrongs of the past.
In this speech, Orr continues his favourite theme of portraying the Reserve Bank as the Tane Mahuta of the financial landscape. This metaphor has received more public focus from Orr …

  11. I see lots of comments and opinions being expressed, that Jacinda Ardern will not see out her full term as PM and will shoot through to the UN, possibly later this year.

Why people claim this as I see no evidence that she will and to do what exactly, at the UN?

Nor do I see any evidence that she has any qualifications for taking up any job at the UN. There is to my knowledge, no Fish & Chip Shop at the UN and she has absolutely no skills, experience or qualifications beyond that, which is apparent from the way she poorly runs this country.

She in fact is so poorly qualified for anything, at 41 years old, she still lives with her mother and father.

Most people have left their parents shelter and protection in their late teens, early 20’s but not Cindy.

So no, can’t see her getting a job anywhere outside the one she currently has.

    • Right from when she was elected it has been stated that she would be gone by Christmas, mainly at that stage due to having a breakdown as it was “reliably” reported that she had suffered from this in the past. (W.Oil in particular). It has then morphed into a job at the U.N. and yes she certainly has no proper credentials for that other than being a left wing fuckwit.
I have been to the U.N. and did not see a fish & chip shop, nor any in New York, so I agree I do not think she would fit the bill there .
I cannot stand the bitch BUT I will not bother saying that she will not be around next election as she will not let go the glory of power without a fight.

        • Sooty, just so happens I have a Maori Granddaughter who is playing in an under 18 Maori Rugby competition in Rotorua this weekend. We are going over to watch. Starts Friday, Matariki Day. Our Granddaughter is coming up from Wellington with her team, same place as the complaining Alice resides in and I note they are not complaining about how offensive their cometition is that it is being played on one of the most sacred days in the Maori Calendar, nor are the Maori organisers in Rotorua.

          Strange that.

          13

          0

    • So, let me get this straight. Before the horis invented this Matariki bullshit years ago, the day in question was simply a day like any other. Possibly even a good day to play rugby, if you’re into that sort of thing. But now even a public holiday isn’t enough to make the grasping bastards happy. They want the world to stop for them as well. You’re not allowed to do anything on Matariki day, unless some hori bum says it’s OK. Actually, it’s worse than that! Unless some fat white woke lesbian says it’s OK, on behalf of the horis.

Well fuck them all. I think I might just go to work that day. Shove that up your culturally sensitive blerta.

      11

      0

      • Thing is Leo, Hori will not be taking a day off. Most of them seem to be on a benefit and have every day off so it will be just Deja Vu, this week just another 7 day holiday, therefore Matariki won’t be anything special.

As if the Ministry for the Environment and Youth Suicide weren’t enough, Ormsby, via his company Ka Awatea now facilitates hui for Kainga Ora, for a cool $78,000 fee.

Once again, the optics of this are appalling. A senior Cabinet Minister’s partner has received significant funding from a government agency to provide certain services. What is so special about Ka Awatea’s method of facilitating hui that set it apart from the competiton? Or was there no competition?

One perceived conflict of interest is bad enough. Two is really bad, but three? It’s high time these issues were referred for an independent inquiry as to their probity.”

  16. Do you guys here listen to The Platform? I find Michael Laws almost addictive. Today he concentrated on the He Puapua report and the inexorable process by which New Zealand is becoming an apartheid state. Not only was he informative and at the same time entertaining, but the callers all had a lot to offer. His interview with Prof James Allan was disturbing but pure gold and I hope it’s available later on The Platform website.

New Zealand is in trouble. Yes that’s true on many fronts – but almost any problem is fixable in the future EXCEPT race relations and separatism. Race relations is not one of those things like roading etc that can be fixed later. Race problems last for generations to come.

If you haven’t already got the Platform app I’d encourage everybody to download it and hear what unbiased and unfettered debate is capable of.

          • “2001 on-field indecent assaults
During a 2001 game with the North Queensland Cowboys, Hopoate inserted fingers in three players’ backsides and anuses. The first incident occurred during the seventh minute of play. The matter was referred to the rugby league judiciary on 28 March. Hopoate was suspended for 12 weeks for what one commissioner described as “disgusting, violent, offensive behaviour”.[9]

Hopoate claimed, in front of the panel of judges, that he was just trying to give all three players a wedgie with his fingers, denying he had done anything wrong and that he was “a great believer in what happens on the field should stay there”.[10] The three victims in the case, Cowboys players Glenn Morrison, Peter Jones and Paul Bowman all disagreed with Hopoate’s reasoning. According to Jones, “It wasn’t a wedgie. That’s when your pants are pulled up your arse. I think I know the difference between a wedgie and someone sticking their finger up my bum”, while Bowman said he was “disgusted” and “couldn’t believe it”. Hopoate was found guilty of ‘unsportsmanlike interference”

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2022/06/grant-robertson-quizzed-on-recession-concerns-as-consumer-confidence-nose-dives.html
The Finance Minister says forecasts he’s receiving don’t currently show a recession is on the cards, but he acknowledges that predictions are being updated regularly.

“That is still not the forecasts we are receiving,” Grant Robertson said on Tuesday morning. “Obviously, internationally there is concern about recessions in different countries. But the consensus forecast remain that is not the case. Those forecasts get updated regularly now.”

“Grant Robertson remains in denial and keeps blaming international factors. The truth is New Zealand is performing worse than many countries.

“In the past year we have dropped eleven places in the IMD Global Competitiveness survey. We have now fallen behind Australia, with the report writers highlighting ‘short-term policy thinking’ as part of our problem.

“Labour urgently needs to deliver a plan to address the cost of living crisis and to grow the economy. Until they do, Kiwis will keep going backwards.”

  22. Oh dear, it sank after they went broke. //

Hong Kong’s iconic Jumbo Floating Restaurant has capsized and sunk in the South China Sea less than a week after it was towed away from the city, its parent company said overnight.
    https://www.1news.co.nz/2022/06/21/hong-kongs-famous-floating-restaurant-sinks-at-sea/

“As the water depth at the scene is over 1000 metres, (it makes it) extremely difficult to carry out salvage works,” it said in a statement.

The Jumbo Floating Restaurant, almost 80 metres in length, had been a landmark in Hong Kong for over four decades, serving Cantonese cuisine to over three million guests including the Queen and Tom Cruise.

It closed in 2020 due to the pandemic and laid off all its staff. Aberdeen Restaurant Enterprises said the restaurant became a financial burden to its shareholders, with millions of Hong Kong dollars spent on its inspection and maintenance even though it was not in operation.

  23. It was predictable. In the wake of last weekend’s Picton/Blenheim SH1 deaths where a van ploughed into a refrigerated truck the woke wankstains at Stuff are calling for a ban on trucks. No mention is made of mental defectives who try to drive overladen & unsafe people movers the length of NZ & back in 72 hours.

Instead in the spirit of all good communists everywhere the screech is for bulk transport by sea or rail or anything but what suits NZ’s spread out centres which is road transport.

To continue their insult to our intelligence they ignore the reason NZ no longer has a coastal shipping service & trains are barely tolerated. That is unions, the power they wielded & their capability used in times not long ago to hold the country to ransom through strike action.

    • Apart from being a target for a van on the wrong side of the road what contribution was the truck to the cause of the accident?

We would save more lives banning all private passenger vehicles and only allow trucks on the road… yeah nah lets not give them any ideas

    • [1] Driving non-stop on the graveyard shift. The human body is loyal to it’s ingrained Circadian rhythms. Unless you are prepared for driving when you should be sleeping, you have to prepare, take regular breaks, share the driving, and be on high alert. Especially if you have the heater cranked up.

They probably opted to drive all night in an all-out race to meet the Ferry.

[2] A Van, with 9 people adds anything up to 800-1000kg, which makes it unstable on the open road, and a relative high centre of gravity, making it less stable, especially if going all out to meet the ferry.

[3] A Van with the roof stacked high with luggage (from the photos) like it’s an Indian Railway Carriage, which gives it an additionally high centre of gravity. Easy to drift.

[4] Driving on the wrong side of the road. What else can you say.

The article focuses on accidents with heavy vehicles, but not who caused the accident.
Trucks, per se, are no more likely to cause an accident than a Morris Minor, it is the driver, not the car, that is the cause. It is just that you come off second best if you hit a truck or get hit by a truck.

According to the following NZ statistics, Factors contributing to crashes that resulted in deaths in New Zealand (2015):

      Lost Control: 33.7%
      Too Fast for Conditions: 32%
      Alcohol or Drugs: 30.2%
      Failed to Keep Left: 22.3%
      Inattention of attention diverted: 15.1%
      Driver asleep: 14.8%

      https://figure.nz/chart/WKssPR8hbahvO8Cx-uRVBYHXQjMLE18H4

People cause accidents, not trucks, or types of vehicles. The focus should be on driver education, not the type of vehicle they drive.

    • It looks to me like Mrs Winston Raymond Jan Peters-Trotman of Herne Bay, may have a few questions to answer. What and why was she being so involved in demanding how the Party President perform his role and what the Presidents relationship with Board and Leader look like. She, having lived with and having a relationship with the Party Leader is nothing short of a conflict of interest, so what was her legal role within NZ First and it’s Board to demand anything?

Of course I may be wrong in my assumption.

The Scampi Inquiry is interesting and reveals the true Winston. I know that Simunovich Fisheries was trying to build up a catch history for scampi for when it became a quoted species.. They were packing cartons of scampi around their orange roughy catch and calling the whole catch scampi, knowing that any MAF inspection wouldn’t detect their ruse. This was being done at sea and before being landed and then onward shipped to Simunovich business interests in Eastern Europe.

Winston was tipped off as to what was going on and was going to blow the lid off the corruption. Suddenly as the link reveals, Winston went all quiet, jumped sides and Talleys. Vela, Simunovich appear to become NZ First donors,… Winston becomes a frequenter of Simunovich’s Kermadec Restaurant.

Not that I have a lot of time for Ross Meurant, I wouldn’t like to cross him. Its going to be an fascinating trial to watch.

  24. And while matters to do do with more interference in the name of the Great God of Absolute Safety are to the fore a local transport expert has fired a shot at the nannies in the NZTA waka.

Via the local Wairarapa Times/Age he’s informed us that the proposed & soon to be rubber stamped local speed limits over the 29.4 Km of SH2 between Waingawa (on the southern boundary of Masterton) & Featherston will include:

    1) Nineteen changes of speed zones. The speeds will vary from 40 kmh, 50 kmh, 60 kmh, 70 kmh & 80 kmh 19 times!

    2) Within this distance there will be 21 raised pedestrian crossings.

    3) Passing lanes will be abolished.

It’s total overkill by regulation. The safety freaks are completely out of control.

  25. How hard can it be to roll out flu shots to hospital staff?
Maybe a table set up in the canteen with vax and needles so staff can roll up a sleeve before they buy their bread roll for lunch and sit down to eat it? Maybe a trolley at the exit door at shift changeover to catch staff on their way in for shift or out at home time?
If DHBs have trouble jabbing a captive audience, they’re pretty stuffed so far as getting the community covered with flu shots. Most are only at 50%, Nelson DHB at 35%. Why?
FFS it’s the shortest day and we haven’t rolled out flu shots that should have been started in February so we had maximum immunity leading into winter. Now we have hospitals over-run with patients and wrestling with staff sick leave as well.
Is no one at MoH and it’s various money-wasting subsidiaries remotely competent?
Why do we pay the Bloomfield wanker north of half a mil a year for crap like this?
He should be paying us rent for allowing him to sit at a desk.

I have no doubts that if american troops or missiles get 1mm inside russian borders then we will see nuclear weapons be deployed

Personally id love to see china sanction america and other nato members if they keep deliberatly provoking putin, would also be a great time for them to have a crack at taiwan if american military is distracted in ukraine.

  28. Building and Construction Minister Megan Woods says one of the main goals of the taskforce will be to investigate whether there needs to be changes to regulations that govern the use of plasterboard products.

“While GIB is well known, it is not the only plasterboard available,” Woods said.

“The Building Code allows for the use of any product which meets performance specifications.

The taskforce will also explore potential new distribution models for the product, provide advice on the appropriate response to consenting and act as a forum for related supply chain concerns.

The members of the taskforce will be:

Rick Herd, Chief Executive of construction company Naylor Love.
Dave Kelly, Chief Executive of Registered Master Builders Association of NZ.
Shane Brealey, Managing Director of residential property developer Simplicity Living.
Stephen Tindall, chair of The Tindall Foundation.
A representative of Local Government NZ.
Tex Edwards, founder of telco 2degrees.

well that’s unbakanced view. All participants are biased.
Next the warehouse will have Chinese plaster board made with rice grounds. FFS

    • If Fletchers played with a straight bat I’d have some sympathy for them but they don’t. For instance:

……”Fletcher Building has trade marked four colours of plasterboard in New Zealand with another colour pending, meaning it has the exclusive rights to make and sell the product blue, mauve, pink and green”……

      https://www.rnz.co.nz/national/programmes/morningreport/audio/2018845905/five-alternative-plasterboards-to-gib-mbie

Elephant Plasterboard (NZ) Limited has been trying to compete for thirty years with a product sourced from Thailand. They have a less than 5% market penetration, not because they have an inferior product but because Fletchers have played dirty to retain their monopoly.

Now Fletchers can’t supply & probably won’t be able to meet demand for at least another six months. I hope that they get fucked & hung out to dry.

      • Plenty of compamies trademark theoir colours. E,g,yellow pages and its smart business if you are a major.
Plenty of companies from round the world attempt and do stop Kiwi companies from name copying.
        Elephant haven’t tried hard enough.
Nothing wrong with the product but given the leaky homes crap why shouldn’t they and anyone else have to get Branz approval? Not that I think Branz are that clever.

Their new plant is massive. Been keeping an occasional watch on its build. with Maresk starting coastal frieghting they will be sending it in container loads to the South Island and other ports from here.
Then they can bowl the olf plants and build more houses on them Land worth more than the new plant. Especially in Auckland.
        Good business.

        • Viking…
Have tried to search whether colours can be trademarked…couldn’t find anything specific to NZ but appears to vary around the world. From what I can gather, colours by themselves aren’t protected by copyright rather a business may have the exclusive right to use a particular colour on specific products or services in the course of trade.
That would seem to make sense as a car manufacturer could hardly trademark red or blue vehicles to prevent a competing manufacturer from making the same coloured ones. Using the car example, it does make you wonder why Fletchers have one over the Elephant manufacturers.

          • I’m picking it’s the specifications writen by the Architect and excepted and signed of by council! It means that you can’t alter anything.
If the Architect only spected gib board, you could substitute any gib board!

            4

            0

          • The colour thing was just an example of how Fletchers do everything within their power to thwart any opposition which by me is fine in a competitive market. Yet what we have is a company who can’t supply a product because either a) they are trying to make sure that houses are not completed, b) they’re using their position to set prices OR c) they’re total fuckwits who are unable to read future demand.

On top of this they bribe or coerce architects & designers to specify “gibboard” which is a trade name though generally considered in NZ to be a generic term for plasterboard or drywall. Then buildings will not be signed off as compliant if “gibboard” is substituted with another plasterboard. Then they heavy the fuckwits in BRANZ to impose bullshit standards to protect the use of their product.

So not content with throttling the completion of needed houses they are determined to kneecap their opposition. The time to do that is when things are flowing smoothly…….not when your incompetency & greed has created a chokepoint.

  31. A multimillion-dollar “blue water” shipping route linking New Plymouth to Nelson is set to revolutionise freight transport between the North and South islands next year – over a decade after the idea was first floated.

The drive-on, drive-off truck service is set to take vehicles off the road, save 2000 tons of carbon emissions a year, and free up drivers in an industry facing massive labour shortages.

NZX-listed transport and logistics group Move Logistics accelerated its plan for the link after agreeing a $10 million co-investment with Waka Kotahi.

Move executive director Chris Dunphy said the service will be an industry first for coastal shipping in New Zealand.
