  1. My body my choice, then you bastards have stopped me aborting my child when I want/change my mind. Bye the way you unvaccinated are just the scum of the earth, and we will tell you so at every opportunity, The dear leader said words to that effect the other day in relation to the judges opinion. But, but, ……….but she wanted and still wants people to have the jab. Not your body then???????? Oh and interesting that it will be only women who suffer, die and worse if there is worse??????? Not a pregnant man in sight of these commenters. It’s all such a crazy fucked up world we are living in. Even Catholic Joe and Nancy are for the abortion right up to last minute, and perhaps just after, how well did that go down with your church Joe????? FFFFFJA

    • Reading cindys comment angers me greatly, i would support abortion if cindys parents were still eligible to get one even tho its 40 odd years too late.

Isnt it bizzare that my body my choice only applies to screaming lefties.
My body my choice is ok for deliberate murder with a 0% survival rate.

“Something else to bear in mind, and that is the lesson that Trump taught but which so few Republicans seem able to internalize (although DeSantis seems to get it). That lesson is, Don’t be apologetic about your principles—showcase them, put them front and center, because most people retain normal instincts and conservative principles are nothing if not normal. That’s what Trump did and that’s how Trump won—he reached out to normal people who wanted to live normal lives. And that’s exactly what the Dems are trying to deny Americans. It’s also the approach that explains why Trump remains a major force in US politics.”

Roe v Wade is an issue for the American people who have a different set of constitutional arrangements than us. NZ’s abortion laws were voted on and ultimately settled in the last parliament. These laws will not be relitigated or revisited under a future National government.

      • Its always been that more people are attacked by knives in NZ then with guns.
Why do the police wear vests?
Well because so many of the patients are carrying knives and were using them.
A friend (since departed ), used to be the local PD warden. When he started there were few worries about those that he was in charge of. Never gave much cause for concern but over about 10 years it all changed and the PD people had to go through all that. Retired when he considered it too dangerous to be worth his time anymore.

  2. For more than three decades, the Swiss Institute for Management and Development (IMD) has compiled annual rankings of competitiveness for 63 of the world’s most important countries. It makes for sobering reading for New Zealanders.

Back in 2017, New Zealand ranked #16 – ahead of Australia at #21.

Five years on, New Zealand has fallen to #31, while Australia is now ranked #19.

A closer look reveals the factors behind New Zealand’s plummeting ranking.

Over the past few years, we have plunged in economic performance, falling from 22nd to 47th place. Government efficiency has also deteriorated markedly from 7th to 17th place.

That’s not a record for this government to feel proud of. And it gets worse.

Altogether, the IMD’s ranking comprises 25 subcategories. In eight of them, New Zealand finds itself in the bottom half of all countries. And these are the categories that really matter: domestic economy, international trade and investment, inflation, productivity and efficiency, attitudes and values, and technological infrastructure.

The IMD noted New Zealand going in the wrong direction on subsidies, inflation, tourism, brain drain, public finances, skilled labour, competent senior managers, and central bank policy.
These are not just signs of a small downturn. These are signs of a former rockstar in a policy-induced coma.

Takeaways are bad says Nanny Helen, through her two Poodles from Stuff, but nowhere do they say anything about self discipline and the intake of fast food or getting off your lard arse and cooking and eating heathy food as an option. No, lets just get rid of fast food outlets, that will solve the “obesity crisis”.

The sooner Helen Clark shuffles of to Watney Sibuns, or some place like that, who can organise a very cold deep place in the ground for for a long stay, the better for this country.

As far as I can remember they stopped doing it a while ago because of reduced engine life, maybe they are doing it again although with the efficiency of a modern turbocharged single rail diesel it’s hard to figure why .

Just asking if he could actually write the whole letter in Maori and if they could then translate it into English if they needed to? Or are they 100% fluent and don’t need to….. On the other hand did they not understand Maori? Interesting isn’t it that the minister of woke didn’t write the whole thing in the language they are trying to force us to learn.

  5. The other day on here I described an encounter with a dumpy, spiky-haired mask Nazi. Some encouraged me to burn the face nappy and proudly parade my naked chin. Well, last night my daughter and I went to see the new Elvis movie. I waltzed right through the mall, past the food court, up the escalator to the cinema, and into the movie without a mask, and nobody said a word. I had been prepared to don one if the usher insisted (after all I didn’t want to ruin my daughter’s much anticipated evening out with her Dad by arguing with idiots in public). But nothing. I wasn’t the only one, either, and I didn’t see a single soul in the packed cinema keep theirs on once they were settled in their seat.

Covid-19: Retail group calls for in-store mask mandate to go

A retail lobby group says masks should no longer be mandatory in stores, but a health expert says New Zealand needs to toughen up on the policy or Kiwis risk getting sicker.

      • People eventually wake up, that it has nothing to do with health, it is about fear and compliance.
What actually ends up happening as it is in New Zealand, the people decide enough is enough. I just did a month driving Victoria to Brisbane then flying Townsville, Cairns, and back to Danjikistan.
Of the four airports where masks were still compulsory when I travelled, the compliance was terrible, and the the worst non compliant by far was Tullamarine.
Masks have been dropped in most airports as the CEO of Canberra Airport demanded the science behind catering staff wearing a mask at the airport and not in the city outlets. The government gave no such proof, they just dropped the mask mandate.
Public Transport adherence was just a joke.
Funniest was an old woman in Cairns I asked why she had a mask on, she said you never know when there is a Victorian, on the bus.
I laughed and said, maybe they should have a big red dot on there foreheads.
I asked a young Aboriginal girl in Townsville while waiting for the skinny dog to Cairns if I had to wear a mask. She blew me away, she said just got out of jail this morning, I don’t know.
On the coach back to the farm, 6 had masks, 6 didn’t and the driver didn’t.
I asked him why, he said I am driving a 50 seater coach and they make me dizzy.
I commended him for looking after my safety.

  7. COVID-19 Vaccination Reactivates Highly Contagious Virus: Studies
Reports of people being diagnosed with shingles on the rise
    By Meiling Lee
    June 22, 2022 Updated: June 24, 2022
Doctors and scientists are seeing an increase in the reactivation of the chickenpox virus, known as varicella-zoster virus (VZV), following the COVID-19 injections.

The chickenpox virus is one of the eight herpes viruses known to infect humans. After a person contracts and recovers from chickenpox, the virus never leaves the body but lies dormant in the nervous system for life.

Shingles is listed as one of the 1,291 adverse events of special interest in Pfizer’s safety document (pdf) released by the FDA in March 2022.

Adverse events of special interest (AESI) are side effects—that can be severe or not but can lead to a serious medical condition—that health care practitioners should look out for following vaccination, according to Dr. Jesse Santiano, an emergency room physician and internist.

“The medical conditions in the list does not mean that the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine causes all of those,” Santiano said on May 11. “That’s because we don’t have enough data to make that conclusion, at least not yet.”

    • Thanks Viking

This past year or so, I have been surprised at the number of people I know who got shingles.
I know I am getting older, and so are many of my friends & acquaintances but still a reasonable number younger than me, where shingles does not usually occur.

Some had not been vaxxed up to that shingle affliction.
To bring on shingles is supposed a lower immunity, and I also wonder about the vaxxed shedding, just enough to trigger shingles.
The other part is that shingles vaccine has become another New Zealand campaign.

I am annoyed now when I now see that my Doctor was wrong! when he told me that it the vaxxes I had were dead vaxx, and he is wrong!

…a weakened form of the varicella-zoster virus, …
      https://www.immune.org.nz/vaccines/available-vaccines/zostavax

Though I think my side effects were more due to also having the flue injection, which many do not know has for older class group, had a recent additive in the adjuvant ‘Squalene’ ( synthesized from plants as MF59) that hypes the immune system to work for the flue vaxx when injected. though the language used infers it was first approved & used from 1997, but I have figured that is just a devious mismatch of info.
      https://www.influenza.org.nz/clinical-info/safety-influenza-vaccines

Another deception in the above link saying that squalene comes from shark livers.
It is based on what the shark’s liver produces but note Squalane and the bait & switch concepts.

There are some Medicos who think that the flu jab ain’t too good and actually if you take good quality supplements. (not the phizer owned ones and yes they are on the shelf at your local supermarket), then you can boost your immune system. Never had an issue before I decided to get a jab as I was going to hospital for a specialist heart operation. Wish I never had the two jabs in the time before and the year after. It was the second one that set in place the reaction. ( sound familiar, two jabs)? Thats why it get all the oldies They get a jab every year and sooner or later it affects them.

  9. Tech billionaire Elon Musk revealed that he believes certain unions are primary drivers of the Democratic Party’s and Biden administration’s policies.

“The general public is not aware of the degree to which unions control the Democratic Party. One does not need to speculate on this point,” Musk said in an interview published over the weekend.

Two of Musk’s businesses, Tesla and SpaceX, are not unionized, which Musk says is because of the “negative employment” in Silicon Valley. He says that Tesla workers typically often have numerous job offers.

“Last year, Biden held an EV summit where Tesla was explicitly not allowed to come, but [United Auto Workers] was. So, Tesla has made two-thirds of all the electric vehicles in the United States,” said Musk, who is estimated to be worth more than $250 billion.

United Auto Workers (UAW), with more than 390,000 active members, is one of the largest unions in the United States and has long been a major player in Democratic Party politics since its inception nearly 100 years ago.

“So, deliberately excluding us from an EV summit at the White House—but including UAW—tells you everything you need to know,” Musk said in the interview. “They have so much power over the White House that they can exclude Tesla from an EV summit—insane.”

  10. 97.8 Percent of Mass Shootings Are Linked to This
BY Joseph Mercola TIMEJune 16, 2022 PRINT

While many have bought into the simplistic idea that availability of firearms is the cause of mass shootings, a number of experts have pointed out a more uncomfortable truth, which is that mass shootings are far more likely the result of how we’ve been mistreating mental illness, depression and behavioral problems

    https://www.theepochtimes.com/97-8-of-mass-shootings-are-linked-to-this_4537542.html?utm_source=top5noe&utm_campaign=breaking-2022-06-25-one&utm_medium=email&est=7i2HpvPv3entzgsSpFG%2FCwAa%2BWV3xXSWeelvEIYHNeKJ4Ne93FpYqwrjsyLwdvI%3D

The Elephant in the Room: Antidepressants

Thoughts, emotions and a variety of environmental factors play into the manifestation of violence, but mental illness by itself cannot account for the massive rise in mass murder — unless you include antidepressants in the equation. Yet even when mental health does enter the mass shooter discussion, the issue of antidepressants, specifically, is rarely mentioned.

Depression per se rarely results in violence. Only after antidepressants became commonplace did mass shootings really take off, and many mass shooters have been shown to be on antidepressants

  11. 250,000 Year Old Insect Challenges Evolutionary Theory
    By Lily Kelly
    June 24, 2022 Updated: June 24, 2022
    biggersmaller Print

Researchers from the University of Melbourne have discovered that current understandings of evolution may not be correct after a study on an ancient Australian grasshopper species revealed new insights into the animal kingdom.

The researchers found that W. virgo, which employs parthenogenetic reproduction—a form of reproduction by females of a species that can develop eggs into embryos without fertilisation— was just as successful as its sexually reproducing relatives.

Lead author of the research paper, Prof. Michael Kearney said in a Melbourne university news release that the study’s findings are important because they challenge the current understanding of evolutionary theory. Evolutionary theory, as it is today, suggests that sexual reproduction has advantages over parthenogenesis.

  12. Former President Donald Trump on June 24 praised the Supreme Court after a majority of justices overturned Roe v. Wade while asserting the decision was only made possible because of his presidency.

“Today’s decision, which is the biggest WIN for LIFE in a generation, along with other decisions that have been announced recently, were only made possible because I delivered everything as promised, including nominating and getting three highly respected and strong Constitutionalists confirmed to the United States Supreme Court,” Trump said in a statement.

Trump, a Republican, was referring to how three of the six justices who ruled in favor of the state of Mississippi against Jackson Women’s Health Organization, an abortion clinic, were appointed by him.

Those justices—Brett Kavanaugh, Neil Gorsuch, and Amy Coney Barrett—joined with Justices Clarence Thomas, a George H.W. Bush appointee; John Roberts, a George W. Bush appointee; and Samuel Alito, a George W. Bush appointee to form the majority.

Just about finished reading a book about this area, the Greek Isles and the setting up of another unit called the Free British.
It was formed on the pretext that the enemy of both Britan and Germany was Russia and the communists.
It was formed to recruit British POW’s and was to be used to influence the brits. It was a disaster.

What gets me is that Russia kept to itself forever until it got attacked. By the French, the Germans and the Brits. The nazi’s were and remain the drivers of all the wars up there.
The Nazi’s were and are Catholic.

“Many of the challenges they’re dealing with, and every police officer will tell you this— many of the challenges that they’re dealing with are going to require a whole-of-Government response, because they’re dealing with the effects of a whole lot of other pressure that exists within the community.”

“So if we think about, you know— I’ve got one of the country’s biggest prisons in my electorate, and if you go and talk to the prisoners, which I have done over my time as a Member of Parliament, you’ll often find people who were victims before they were offenders. So, you know, the cycle of offending can be a long time in the making.”

    • Powerful. Luxon is as mad as the that.
He doesn’t need their particular votes as he will go to the list next election or he will be guaranteed a place by virtue of thelist and the party vote.
They may get to rule but the next election will see them and Labour gone.
There’ can be no doubt that there is a backlash against both.
ACT have shown that but unfortunately for them Seymour rolled over.

Shame one of them didn’t call them and the CEO’s cowards for rolling over to the bitch.
I am still wondering what she did to get them to roll over.

  20. 🚨🚨🚨🚨 A significant gap is opening up in the residential property market, which could foreshadow a major property slump.
It’s the gap between the number of properties listed for sale each month and the number that are selling.
Generally the smaller the gap the hotter the market, while a larger gap means the market is slower.
At the moment the gap is getting bigger and it’s opening up surprisingly quickly, suggesting a major shift in the market is underway.
The graph below tracks the gap’s progress over the last 14 years.🚨🚨🚨🚨

People who want to sell are joining the market. Landlords that can longer deduct their interest costs and have just had their first meeting with their accountant will panic and do that.

Former Covid-19 Minister Chris Hipkins reveals biggest regret – keeping Auckland in lockdown

Former Covid-19 Minister Chris Hipkins says if the Government could redo the Covid-19 response, he would have scaled back the Auckland Delta lockdowns more quickly in the last three months of 2021.

Asked what he would do differently on TVNZ’s Q+A this morning, Hipkins said that at the time decisions were made, they could only be made on the information that was at hand.

However, he pointed to the Auckland lockdowns as something he would have done differently with the benefit of hindsight.

While in China , a man is very sexually promiscuous and does not use a condom all the time he is there.
A week after arriving back home in Sydney, he wakes one morning to find his penis covered with
    bright green and purple spots.
Horrified, he immediately goes to see a doctor. The doctor, never having seen anything like this before,
orders some tests and tells the man to return in two days for the results.
The man returns a couple of days later and the doctor says, “I’ve got bad news for you, you’ve contracted
Mongolian VD. It’s very rare and almost unheard of here, we know very little about it.”
The man looks a little perplexed and says, “Well, give me a shot or something and fix me up, Doc.”
The doctor answers, “I’m sorry, there’s no known cure. We’re going to have to amputate your penis”
The man screams in horror, “Absolutely not! I want a second opinion!!!”
The doctor replies, “Well, it’s your choice. Go ahead, if you want, but surgery is your only option.”
The next day, the man seeks out a Chinese doctor, figuring that he’ll know more about the disease.
The Chinese doctor examines his penis and proclaims, “Ah, yes, Mongolian VD. Vewy ware disease.”
The guy says to the doctor, “Yeah, yeah, I already know that but what can we do?
My doctor wants to cut off my penis!”
The Chinese doctor shakes his head and laughs. “Stupid Australian docttah, always want opawate.
Make more money dat way. No need amputate!”
“Oh, thank God!” the man exclaims.
“Yes,”says the Chinese doctor, “Wait two week. Fawl off by itself.

    • Some of us already knew that. And they have increased their margins on fixed term loans. Go back aways and that margin used to be 1.5 % its is currently 2.5% + and no doubt they are rampoing it up little by little.

All thanks to the former ASB guru and CEO of the commonwealth Bank of Australia.
When he went to Aussie he deliberately upped their margins and justifies it by say that he was there to make a profit. ( Ralph Norris if you can’t remember his name).
And they have huge profits that no other country has achieved.
The sooner the share market tanlks world wide the better. Thatand lower the the oil prices and the world will be awash with money.

New Zealand Winegrowers figures show 414,549 tonnes of grapes were harvested in Marlborough this year, a 54% rise from 2021. It is one of the largest in the region’s history.

Across New Zealand there were 532,000 tonnes of grapes harvested during the 2022 vintage, up 44% on last year’s crop.

    • A big part of the dairy payout is due to our dollar tanking so thats not exactly good, even fonterra stated that as part of the reason behind the high payout.

Then theres the rest of the equation, the other record highs… ya know the likes of fuels, consumables, raw material etc.

An early 2000s a midpoint of say 4.10 payout, diesel was under 50c, petrol 80c, could build a new cowshed for under 100k, underpass 20k, staff wages 15-25k each per year.
Id wager that the early 2000s dairy cocky had a far more spare cash/ higher percentage of profit then todays farmer.
When i was still dairying we were around 4.40 cost of production on farm but if you added in the lease costs for runnoff it went to 5.80. There were farms around the area with big barns that needed a $7 payout just to break even, that was 2018 id hate to know what it is now, fuel wages fert compliance and supplement is all sky high i wouldnt even be suprised if farms have gone tits up in recievership even tho its record payout.

    https://www.1news.co.nz/2022/06/26/dhbs-gone-by-end-of-week-what-it-means-for-you/

On Friday, July 1, two brand new entities will be at the helm of our health system. The days of the country’s 20 district health boards will be over.

Reforms costing half a billion dollars will see the DHBs replaced by Health NZ and the Māori Health Authority. The new entities will be based in Wellington.

“We do want to improve access for everybody, but let’s be mindful that some groups don’t have the same playing field right now.”

With this in mind, the reforms are looking to get off to a challenging start.

It will be business as usual for patients – though we can expect some political fanfare to usher in the biggest health reforms in two decades.

  33. Is it up to the taxpayer to pay for private corporations employment adverts?

Government spent almost $100k advertising jobs for private companies despite backlog of beneficiaries on books
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2022/06/government-spent-almost-100k-advertising-jobs-for-private-companies-despite-backlog-of-beneficiaries-on-books.html

Earlier this year the New Zealand Kiwifruit Growers organisation put the call out for workers, trying to sweeten up to Kiwis.

Their advert was run on the Ministry of Social Development’s (MSD’s) Facebook page. Taxpayers forked out for it along with several other private-sector job ads. The aim was to make sure essential supply chain businesses had workers during our peak Omicron outbreak.

In total MSD’s spent $93,000 on the ads. ACT wants to know why it didn’t turn to the more than 100,000 work-ready beneficiaries on its Work and Income books.

“It’s MSD’s job to find jobs for people that are on welfare. Everybody else is not MSD’s problem,” said Chhour.
