    • Thought of a better one than my first, “do I have to do question time on a Thursday again?”
      I don’t do Thursdays Jacinda.
All is well in the world, Jacinda has now been in power 650 days.
In that time, she has morphed into the kind darling of the world.
Whilst back at the day to day job, it appears Jacinda doesn’t really like fronting Parliament for question time.
I thought it important the PM fronts the parliament to answer questions?
How far back do we have to go to find a Thursday where she fronted question time.
From what I can find in Parliamentary records.
She has managed to drag herself into the chamber on two occasions, yes just two occasions.
First was Thursday 16 November, the first sitting of this term of Parliament.
The second appearance, just 17 months ago on 1 March 2018.
      The most open accountable government?
Great work if you can get it
Has had to front 25 question times so far this year.
Great work if you can get.
Maybe it is in the Winston agreement, has to be some reaso

  2. This abortion issue will hurt Labour and the Greens. I hope National supports this going to a binding referendum. This will cause more agro between Little and Peters.

        • What; like Winston promised on live tv that they would support the Kiwisaver for Foster Kids bill amendment only for NZ Last to vote against it en masse? a gaggle of the thick and bewildered lead by a charlatan. And yet they somehow make Ardern mob look competent.

          • Yes that is the scary bit isn’t it? We are being led by incompetent self serving charlatans. God how I hate this COL.
Just as an aside. My heat pump 13 years old has given up the ghost. They don’t make the parts any more??? Instead of worrying about all the plastic bags what about all the appliances that only last 10 or up to 15 years if you are very lucky being sent to land fill aye? No word of that. Oops have I given them something else to go on about? I just think it’s so hypocritical for them to ban plastic bags, when huge appliances are sent to land fill daily around the country. Yet something else for them to go ob about???

    • Sorry to disappoint you Chuck ( I actually agree with you) but this is what is Amy Adams view

“Adams told RNZ that “if we learned anything from Brexit, it’s that referenda can be very bad ways to make complex, complicated decisions”.

As I said on KB –what an elitist snob she is, if this is what she thinks. Thank goodness she is leaving Parliament.
Apparently Adams has been lobbying “on behalf” of Little so the bill gets through without NZF’s support.

      0

      0

      • Ross, with those comments Adam’s level of understanding is dubious and could be paralleled alongside some other female politicians. Thank God she is no longer National’s Finance Spokesperson. Her Brexit comment shows she knows very little about the UK and their relationship with the EU.

  3. Talking of which.
    The colossus arises once more.

Deputy Prime Minister and Leader of the New Zealand First political party, Winston Peters agrees that State Highway 2 north from Bethlehem to Katikati is a traffic danger.

The question was: ‘When can the residents of the Western Bay expect to see a commitment to fund and commence the Katikati bypass?’

“I have seen that is now a matter of absolute urgency since the last election,” says Winston.

“After the election it’s the biggest crisis point of development requiring work.

“But I happen to agree with you that it does require that because of the traffic danger and the need to get that towards Katikati as fast as we possibly can, and we will do our best to find that money.

“That is a project that looks like it needs to be funded, just in the way and the same way we funded here,” says Winston.

“We are going to make as many representations as we can because we think it meets the safety requirements as well.

“One can’t stand here and make promises because it has to be decision in the end by the Minister of Transport and the Minister of Finance but we will make as strong representations as we possibly can.”

    https://www.sunlive.co.nz/news/217360-winston-peters-agrees-sh2-is-traffic-danger.html

    Last night in Tauranga.
Now the funding he refers to of course is toll funding. We already have 2 toll roads and are the only town in the country where we have to pay to go into town and pay when we leave.

Expect to see this road underway before the election as it is Simon’s place although not his electorate.

    0

    0

    • Was not the original Harbour bridge from Tauranga to the Mount set up locally and funded by tolls because central Govt would not fund it?

The regular road development stopped soon into the 1975 National Govt election and lasted 30 years. That was for financial reasons. Now it is for ideological cuckoo clocks.

It is like these scientists overlook basic rational thinking as to how to provide sufficient substitutes for the energy, protein, vitamins and minerals required. There is not enough arable land for everyone to eat tofu or fish in the ocean. Woke stupidity!

  4. Do you ever look back at previous comments and wonder where all the anger came from ? i looked at my comment linking the beast of Blenheim to the Labour party again & thought i would never have dreamed of doing that to any political party ever in the past, even the Green Taliban wouldnt have raised my hackles that much, maybe it’s the continual bombardment of lies & obfuscation that has me and many others so wound up that all decency & decorum have gone out the window, maybe i could tone it down a bit but watching our freedoms being eroded by a bunch of socialist scum just refires that anger anew every day, it would be interesting to know if others feel they have become a different less kind commentator since this mob gained power or is it all just partisan politics where we just hate them for being lefties regardless, rant over TGIF one & all

    • It’s interesting GM. I have wondered the same thing. It’s not like I have any great love of National but the rank hypocrisy and outright lies from the holier than thou left just shows their true colours are only ever just below the surface. And it’s knowing what those true colours are that prompts such deserved opprobrium.

It would be a good start for the cops to stop playing the traditional Maori folk song ‘Dance to My Ten Guitars’ and move the lawless off the former wheat fields.
Of course the shaky, breaky, nervy, bobby idiot Ardern threw the spanner in those works.
There was even 40 free houses for local tribal Maori.

    • JAG is a lying dangerous hypocritical, ideologue who should not be anywhere near the levers of power. She is not fit to be in government.

In her capacity as Minister of Womin, she has made sexist and racist remarks about pakeha males; she made all sorts of comments about Russell McCeagh last year, but has said nothing about accusations emanating from the Beehive

As Assoc. Minister of Health she issued dietary advice to hospital dietitians last week that was dangerous and injurious to sick people recovering in hospital

As Assoc. Minister of Transport she has talked with forked tongues about road safety and pushed the Vision Zero programme while being responsible for stopping motorway programmes on SH1 (Northland) and SH2 (BOP) and for opposing road side drug testing (when road deaths by drugged drivers is one of the major causes of road deaths). Memos have shown her opposition has been because it is contrary to Green Party policy on drugs. Then there is her blackmail of Twitford and WCC over what Wellington’s transport programme will be.

She is dangerous, she puts ideology before good governance. She should be sacked and not be allowed to be anywhere near government.

  7. Lessons in how to dance on a pin has and split hairs 1.

The JAG letter. The CoL are doing everything to distract and obfuscate.
    1. Mallard allowing a parliamentary paid for programme (The House on RNZ National) to debate what is a ministerial communication and what is not.
    2. Chippie in the House using a bad example of him communicating with Tracey Martin about an education matter.
    3. Clouding matters by the saying they are representing matters as MPs or as ministers they are wanting “free and frank discussions” between ministers.

In the JAG letter case, none of which holds water.

    Because:
    1. She was not communicating to Twitford as an MP or as a Green Transport spokesperson
    2. This was a matter of what will or will not be government support for a programme in Wellington.
    3. Chippie’s anecdote is B/S because he is the Minister and Martin is the Assoc. MMinister of Education. They have privileged knowledge, they can’t have a Labour to NZF policy discussion on education.

The BS is that the killer will be treated as a victim and it will be colonisation and all the other pathetic excuses for losers as promoted by the Parliamentary Maori Caucus – themselves the biggest handbrake on our country moving forward to a level it should attain.

The child possibly had Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.
        This is hinted at.
So the other twin could be facing a retrograde future.

All this poverdy and homelessness but the birth giver (not a mother) smokes and was able to consume 18 cans of sugared alcohol at say $2 per can so $36.

Because she is traumatized by colonisation we white supremacists are oppressors.
I think Judge Raoul Neave should be put in charge of this and he can award her a dozen cans of bourbon and cola every day for the next 18 years!

  9. Received the latest email from Act:

    Dear

This past week, we’ve seen another serious threat to freedom of expression. The Chinese Government has made multiple attempts to shut down debate it doesn’t like in our universities.

After days of pressure from ACT, Jacinda Ardern and Winston Peters finally spoke up for free speech and New Zealand’s interests.

ACT has led the charge in defending your right to freedom of expression. Can we count on you to support our efforts?

In the coming weeks, I’ll be travelling around the country to talk to New Zealanders about how we can stop continued attempts to undermine our most fundamental freedom.

    Freedom to Speak Tour dates

    Howick – 10 August
University of Auckland – 19 August
Massey University, Manawatū – 16 September
    Palmerston North – 16 September
    Victoria University – 18 September.

Whangarei, Auckland, Hamilton, Waikato University, Canterbury University, Otago University and Invercargill dates will be announced very shortly.

Like my Facebook page to be the first to find out.

    Yours sincerely

    • You say that, and today we get on RNZ (Morning Report), muslims are feeling marginalized again in NZ. There were calls for hate speech against muslims to be made illegal etc. They even interviewed Dame Susan Devoid.

      Let’s get things straight:
      1 NZ is a secular country with freedom to follow your chosen religion;
      2. Islam is a region, not an ethnicity;
      3. You choose to follow Islam, you are not born it, anymore than I was not born a Christian, I just choose to follow that faith;
      4. If we can have hate speech against a specific religious faith, then there must be provision for hate speech against all religious Faith’s. Else the law is biased and contrary to the notion that we are all equal before the law.

      0

      0

      • Well said Hull, item 4 will be the only reason they haven’t tried that on yet they only want hate laws for the special brown people of all hues to use against anyone they disagree with which will primarily be only us colonial usurpers

        0

        0

      • Islam is a region, not an ethnicity;
Um not altogether. Islam is a political system that embraces religion as its reason for being. Being Muslim means belonging to a political movement which has the goal of ruling the world and treating everyone that is not a Muslim as an infidel. They are considered to be expandable. Chop their heads off.

      • So your kids school isn’t big on bullying policy?
I think we all know how your kids would fare if you spoke out.

  12. And there you have it folks the mad queen really does believe her own media what a self absorbed egomaniacal joke she truly is
    https://thebfd.co.nz/2019/08/transcript-ardern-distances-herself-from-the-steaming-stuff-that-has-hit-the-fan-part-1-of-3/
“I’m going to be pretty careful answering that question, Mike because this is um… ah… enquiry and work is still underway and it is um… a party matter, but if you ah… want numbers on those who come and go from the Labour Party ah… that’s not a number I can give you at present. I can tell you that our numbers are healthy and probably grow by the day with every interview I do…”

    • Internal party matter, my left testicle it is. Accusations of assault and rape are police matters, end of story. I don’t care whether they are Labour, Nationzl or Act, political parties are not above the law!

The bint is a lying individual beneath contempt!

      • And why is it not an employment matter? The safety and welfare of staff is a recognised employment matter. I’m guessing as the accused apparently worked in the PM’s office the Party don’t want Cindy being too close the matter so have taken the lead. I wonder if the complainants will find an employment lawyer and challenge this ruling by the Labour Party?

    • Oh goodness she really believes this? I think she does. Time someone told her the truth don’t you think? She is a fish and chip wrapper from Morrinsville with no skills what so ever, she cannot even speak without all the umps and ahhh That is just so egotistical. I hate the col.

  13. Just bought a semi automatic …..butter knife .
I’ll probably have to register it, and get a licence, and notify Noddy so he can check that my cutlery draw has all the safety mechanisms in place.
Stand back, or the butter gets it.

  14. I was browsing the leftie infiltrated Wikedpedia site to ascertain our countries political origins.

Our premier, Sir Julius Vogel wrote a book, Anno Domini 2000, or, Woman’s Destiny, published in 1889. It anticipated a utopian world where women held many positions of authority.

I fast forwarded to 2007, for purely nostalgic reasons, using the new alternative to wiki and was happy to find a factual account of what was dominating the news 12 years ago.

  15. Conservative know-alls will be pushing to spin this. In the ten years since the New Zealand Law Commission reviewed the alcohol laws:

……”alcohol has contributed to 700,000 physical and sexual assaults, up to 30,000 children born with alcohol-related brain damage and more than $70 billion of social costs.”……

    https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12257240

And the wankers worry about marijuana users seeking to make their drug of choice legal. Fact…..few get assaulted or raped by dopers……frankly, after a joint it seems too much of an effort.

But let’s hear it for the mantra of those who know best; Alcohol good……Marijuana bad.

    • And some of us just enjoy the odd drink nasska. Like most things those who use to excess ruin it for the rest of us.

    • “Fact…..few get assaulted or raped by dopers……”

That’s bullcrap Nasska and you know it.
For example- The Mongrel Mob smoke pot all day every day….Nice peaceful types aren’t they?

      0

      0

      • The Mongrel Mob will only be smoking pot to let themselves down gently from their drug of choice…..meth.

Meth & alcohol are the precursors to 90% plus of serious violence, 50% + of road deaths & plenty of other assorted misery. Yet a pack of half baked religious conservatives who have spent the last twenty years watching Reefer Madness on loop have deluded themselves that marijuana is the problem.

They open their mouths & let the Nor-wester blow their tongues around while observing life through the bottom of a gin bottle!

        0

        0

    • …..”more needs to be done to prevent pregnant and breast feeding women from drinking to excess”……

But what? There’s no shortage of public campaigns & the advice is hammered hard by all those involved in pre /post natal services.

Only Kea’s advice, which might be considered a tad drastic in these enlightened times, or locking them up are left for options.

      And meth is worse……far worse.

    • I call bullshit on that blood alcohol level being caused by breast milk, even if the birthed was a soak.
I call bullshit on the suggestion this was caused by poverty or inadequate housing.
And I’m seriously pissed off when some feral murders their own child by negligence and self-celtredness and we all get told to become absolutely teetotal when breastfeeding – like we all need lessons in responsible parenting.
Do the anti Oranga Tamariki protestors outside Parliament have anything to say about two more Taonga killed or damaged by Maori families? How many is that since the protests started?

      • One of the biggest problems is that the message can’t be targetted……that would be considered racist.

    • Might be best to just bring in a Caliphate to NZ.
So if there are any sexual assaults, at least the babes won’t be alcohol-damaged.

  16. Re the cocaine find on the beach
I saw an Al Jazeera doco last month that said that as cocaine was so cheap in SA and dear in Aussie and NZ the drug lords were sending it over in small fishing boats and yachts and making huge profits.
They also told these people that if they saw any navy or similar boats coming, to chuck it overboard.
They had done the maths and worked it out that they could easily loose a few shipments.

  17. I stand by my prediction that she’ll be gone before the year is out.
The empty headed media will be forced to expose her incompetence.
They will suffer too. Nowhere to hide. “Wack a mole”
    Question is:
    Who would be her successor?
Who has the cahonies to step up?
    Is $500k enough?

    0

    0

    • Grant Robertson & Andrew Little will step up. Fortunately both have zilch public appeal & their suet pudding personalities would drop Labour back down to the low 20s .

Cindy is their only hope & they’ll hold her together with string, feed her valium & operate her as a sock puppet until the end of next year.

      0

      • Winston will step up as interim PM until the election. First Maori PM. It’s what he has always wanted.

        0

        0

        • …..”It’s what he has always wanted.”……

If he’d shut his trap & stuck with National he would have been PM & years ago too. He was Muldoon’s anointed successor.

          0

          0

          • It’s not in Winston’s nature. All that bullsh*t under pressure is hard to contain. He’s thinks he is much cleverer than the rest of us.

Whether they like it or not, they know their careers are pinned to Ardern’s fortunes.

    Scenario:
    Snap election called.
    Five parties eligible.
    Pick someone.
Remember though, analysts are touting a recession economy.

What about a Bridges/Hipkins tag team and Bennett/Faafoi as deputies.
As many have said, Labour lite.
Make the change you want through compromise.

  20. I imagine the theme tune/song would be Simon and Garfunkels, “Bridge over troubled waters.”
A symbol of reconciliation, harmony, community and a return to a sense of belonging.
Our kids would bare witness to something pretty powerful and dare I say it, profound.
    Pie in the Sky? Maybe.
