  1. So after 35 years as an Official Language of this country, the millions upon millions spent each year, the combined Billions spent on this Language over the 35 years, probably the same percentage of people in this country speak Maori now as they did when it became an Official Language on the 1st August 1987.

I defy anyone to give me Official and proven figures showing otherwise.

What a huge waste of money for no progress whatsoever.

    • TAH, I may be wrong TAH but that crap normally signifies the approach of Maori language week and it’s a yearly occurrence since as long as I can remember. Ignore the B/S from these people it’s better for your blood pressure that way.

          • Te Reo is a ceremonial language. It has several functions. Its benefits pivot on whether the speaker self-identifies as Maori or is unable to (i.e. they are of Asian, European or other non-Polynesian stock).

            a) For people who can self-identify as Maori, speaking Te Reo brings benefits
            – It shows that they are staunch and committed
            – (To show even greater commitment, they need to gain an official Te Reo qualification.) The higher the qualification, the more mana, status, and virtue they have.
            – Te Reo ability can be augmented by a traditionally inspired (but not authorized) facial tattoo, to help the wearer reach a level of “über mana.”

            b) For people who can not self-identify as Maori
            – It shows obedience
            – It indicates a certain level of self-hatred
            – It can qualify them for government employment, funding, or promotion
            – In combination with an oversized bone or jade pendant, a high BMI, or colored or “ethnic” hairstyle, the ability to speak Te Reo can help alleviate their “self-perceived untermensch-ness.”

    • The ordinary maori plebe think they are winning as the only thing that seems be noticed is the land name changes, plus the recent push of gratis pidgeon maori to “maenglish.”

The deadliest part is the myth telling scientism, being justified as if it is all in the righting of colonization.

  2. I spent some time cleaning out a set of drawers in my business workshop yesterday and apart from finding 8 boxes of 10 x N11y champion spark plugs that may be useless in 2022 I also came across an original I pod ,you know one of the ridiculously tiny ones that came out I’m guessing 20 years ago??
I found the necessary adaptors to fit it to the “Kicker” stereo system in the workshop (also an antique) and unbelievably it fired up ,listening to one of the tracks these lyrics came up,
“Little school girl take me home with you, little school girl take me home with you, little school girl take me home with you, you can tell your mom and dad that I was once a school boy to” Van Morrison off the album ‘To long in exile’ ,FFS imagine coming up with those lyrics in 2022 and how the hell has Van not been hung drawn and quartered by the woke mob ??

    • I was thinking the same thing about Jimmy Osmond singing Long haired lover from Liverpool.
looked it up just now and the song was number one in 1972 and he was born in 1963.

      So he was 9.
      Lyrics
I’ll be your long haired lover from Liverpool,
And I’ll do anything you say.
I’ll be your clown or your puppet or your April Fool,
If you’ll be my sunshine daisy from L.A.
I’ll be your leprechaun and sit upon an old toad stool,
I’ll serenade you till I’m old and gray.
I’ll be your long haired lover from Liverpool,
You’ll be my sunshine daisy from L.A.
You’ll be my lovely daisy on the mountainside,
There are lots of other flowers, too.
But all the other flowers hung their heads and cried
Because the loveliest of all of them was you.
But you were evidently the exception to the rule,
I picked you quickly then I ran away.
‘Cause I was your long haired lover from Liverpool,
You were my sunshine daisy from L.A.
I’ll be your long haired lover from Liverpool,
And I’ll do anything you ask.
I’ll be your clown or your puppet or your April Fool,
Cut my hair, I’ll even wear a mask.
I’ll be your Valentine, and you’ll be mine, and things’ll be cool.
We’ll move along together every day.
I’ll be your long haired lover from Liverpool,
You’ll be my sunshine daisy from L.A.,
You’ll be my sunshine daisy from L.A.
I’ll be your long haired lover from Liverpool,
And I’ll do anything you ask.
I’ll be your clown or your puppet or your April Fool,
Cut my hair I’ll even wear a mask.
I’ll be your Valentine, and you’ll be mine, and things’ll be cool.

Easy, the woke mob are ok with sexual deviancy esp against younger segments of society.
About the only thing they would be outraged at would be the possibility of misgendering the schoolgirl

You would think that to come up with an inflation/ cost of living payment they wouldve looked at the drivers of inflation first to ensure their targetted response was the right one…

    • The single truth of the matter…

Inflation is one of the most important, yet least understood, issues of our day. Contrary to what we might be led to believe by the news media and some high economic advisors, inflation is not a rise in the general level of prices (often referred to as an increase in the cost of living). Inflation is simply an increase in the supply of money. This increase in the number of dollars in relation to the goods and services that are put up for sale causes people to bid up prices. Thus, a general rise in prices is the effect of inflation. More dollars is the underlying cause of the higher prices.

We first must recognize this cause-effect relationship before we can understand the problems and dangers of inflation. Likewise, once we understand this relationship, we can easily see through the fog created by statements like the following those made by our government, and echoed by the media, made by high-placed people in our nation, when the inflation (money expansion) has already taken place!…

      • The point that few get is that inflation is a deliberate Government policy!
They can help the poor with a few crumbs and get them to vote for the crumbs.
They reduce the middle to the poor so they will get their vote as well as they search for more crumbs.
The self appointed elite will live In luxury paid for by the rest.
        Government will choose the elite!
Why else would this Government still be spending like demented drunken mariners?

  4. Affordable housing agency Kāinga Ora bids up Ferncliffe Farms price on inflated valuations
    1 Aug, 2022 05:00 AM
State housing agency Kāinga Ora was only cosmetically restricted to market pricing in its surprisingly rich, winning bid of $70.4m for a rural Tauranga tract of land, Ferncliffe Farms, last year.

While the agency obtained two valuations for the property the details of each were likely to result in an artificially high price, government documents obtained under the OIA suggest.

Critics say the case illuminates how the Government is using taxpayer funds to bid up land prices, unnecessarily baking additional cost into the “affordable” homes it hopes to build.

A briefing to both Minister of Housing Megan Woods and Minister of Finance Grant Robertson warned that the first valuation ($68m) was based on an estimate of developable land that was more than 30 per cent greater than the area subsequently deemed usable.

  7. The Lone Ranger and Tonto were trailing some outlaws. After several days of following the trail it became evident that Tonto would need to use his indigenous skills learned over many years as an Indian. Tonto gets off his horse and puts his ear to the ground. A serious look comes over his face. He says, “Ugh, buffalo come.” The Lone Ranger is incredulous at Tonto’s skills. He shakes his head and asks, “How can you tell?” Tonto looks up and rubs his ear and says, “Ear sticky”.

  8. I’ve just heard M Laws reading out a text saying that all politicians should declare their connection to the WEF.

Laws then ridiculed the texter with the words “Who is the WEF? I’ve got no idea. Is this another mad conspiracy theory?”

So M Laws is an either outright liar or he is truly one of the most ignorant people in the country.

p.s. He has just arrogantly cut off an excellent well-spoken caller Justin who was patiently trying to explain the WEF to him. He’s an utter prick and a disgrace to the concept of an open free speech platform.

        • I think Simpleton1 hit it on the head above. Laws (and Plunket) are both ‘shock jocks’ who’s main talents are centred around arrogantly mouthing off at everything without offering anything in the way of policies or solutions (unlike Rodney Hide and Paul Brennan, for example).

They’re the kind of boring pricks who dominate every meeting and every conversation without listening to anybody else’s point of view.

          • I’ve just uninstalled The Platform app from my phone. Plunket is on too early for me and anyway he is a loud mouth raver and Laws is an arrogant arsehole. As for the others, I’ve only listened to her a couple of times and I’ve never heard anything of much value in that soppy woman after midday and I’m not interested in idiots shouting about sport.

Rodney and Paul were both really good, but they were only filling in and I’ve got more to do with my time than tune in hoping that one of them will be there. Life’s too short.

  9. Government knew $350 cost of living payment could be given to ineligible people
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2022/08/government-knew-350-cost-of-living-payment-could-be-given-to-ineligible-people.html

Ministers were told in May the cost of living payment could be given to ineligible individuals but went ahead with the policy anyway as they believed it was the most efficient way to support vulnerable New Zealanders affected by rising prices.

“This is another shambolic rollout from a Labour Government that repeatedly treats taxpayers’ money with disrespect,” said National’s finance spokesperson Nicola Willis.

ACT leader David Seymour said he has heard from individuals as far away as London who haven’t been in New Zealand for years who have been told they will get the money.

“The problem lies in the novelty of the scheme, it was rushed together at the last moment for all the wrong reasons,” he said.

“Because we’ve used our automated IRD system, it’s not always possible for us to decipher [someone is a resident in New Zealand]. This will not be the majority of New Zealanders,” she told RNZ.

“Both the Treasury and IRD warned Ministers not to go ahead saying it would be administratively complex. Despite the warnings, the Government pressed go regardless and Kiwis are now paying the price for that arrogance.”

Obsessive Greenies using the excess electricity demand fossil fuel to charge their Electric Cars is about as disingenuous as Vegans swanning around in clothes made from animals or insects, and wiping their backside with toilet paper – which uses animal products as a binder. • Make no mistake, electricity and electric cars are the future. But not in this land when Labour are scuttling and prohibiting the best renewal source of electricity – hydro. And when billions are being printed for nepotist and self gratifying spending sprees and cycle lanes and sweet FA on hydro infrastructure.

And before the woke left get all sanctimonious about developing nations using coal, they should keep in mind that over 80% of energy sources in the USA, Australia and many other countries come from fossil fuel. People still have to live and eat while they are developing better electrical power sources and systems.

The worlds increasing population is placing huge demands on energy requirements.
If DL had any credibility she would have publicly demonstrated real empathy and concern by having no children or having Clarke’s boys snipped after Neve. Instead she funds more losers to have children.

Furthermore, developing hydro (not pumped hydro), gets no air time at all.

The next time (or the first time) you see a UFO blatting along at sub light speeds and doing sharp right angle turns at said speeds, you can be assured of a number of things:

            [1] They are not running on diesel;
            [2] They are not running on bio-fuel;
            [3] They are not running on fission nuclear power;
            [4] They are not running on battery EV – it’s a long way between charging stations if you travel 100-1000 light years between stops;
[5] They know how to create artificial gravity fields.

The technology clearly exists, we just have not discovered it yet, or if it has been discovered, it has been buried by vested interests.

As it seems that the “Environmentalism is an Environmental Hazard” Daniel Greenfield

“Wait, these “green” wind turbines use oil???”

Then see the just how much oil and ongoing top-ups of oil to keep the wind mills spinning.
Now they talk of putting those wind mills out at sea, where one can not so easily notice the leakage and spillages of oil. ….hmmm, devious green bastards. … and really proving their blind techno-logical ignorance, while seeking controlling powers.

      Google translate got me through.

Little do they tell you of the dependency on fossil fuels, in Not only oil for lubrication but :—
Figure this dependency of the wind power on diesel that seems to be routine.

….Typically, this power is provided by small diesel generators; the London Array, the world’s largest offshore wind farm, had a diesel generator located on each of its 175 turbines. ….

That is for the ones out at sea,
In Texas actually Sweden was the work of spraying antifreeze (Pollutants) so that the ice would not build up on the blades, and causing major imbalances.
Or using “heating oil” to keep the blades a bit warmer.

      Daniel Greenfield :
Covers the “‘toilet-to-tap”‘ through the contaminants in solar panels, through the burying of the hazardous wind blades.

…. Environmentalism is an environmental hazard that threatens both the ecosystem and public health. From the solar panel lead in the groundwater to the wind turbine fiberglass in your lungs to the toilet water in your sink, there’s nothing ‘clean’ about the environmental agenda. ….

  14. Andrew Little has announced that in order to solve the nurse shortage crisis (he didn’t say crisis – just pulling your leg) they are going to promote nursing on Shortland Street.

    I. . . . shit. . . . you. . . . not.

    • Haven’t watched Shortland Street for at least 25 years but in the ads there is no-one on a gurney in the corridor, no-one 5 persons deep in a waiting room, and surgeries all seem to go ahead without delay.
Maybe it is something Andrew Little should aspire to achieving.

      • The last place you would want to advertise the health system is on Shortland Street.

If the UK government owned hotels, would you travel around the world to work in them based on adverts / content on Fawlty Towers?

Foreigners will watch Shortland Street, and go – I’m not flaming traveling half way around the world to work with people who are mental cases, unfaithful, shag one another, and bring all their problems to work.

A mate had multiple conversations with nurses in hospital last year, who directed him to watch “New Amsterdam”, which they had binge watched, stating that that was how the hospitals should be run. Where actually practicing medicine and saving lives was the top priority. Not working in a broken system where following daft policies and massaging management egos was first priority.

Nurses are leaving in droves. Just as Airline staff left British Airways in droves to go work at Virgin Air when it opened, for a lot less money, but without the abuse.

Things have to be really bad in hospitals when experienced nurses on good money go and get a cleaning job for less money and they classify their move as a step forward. A step forward it is, without the stress of knowing they are harming patients.

  15. I’d like to draw viewers attention to the caption under the video in this link in today’s NZH.
The caption reads “Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern will speak to the media during a visit to the Kapiti Coast today.”

But hang on, isn’t she in Samoa? How can this be? Didn’t they just crucify Luxon for a number of days for something similar?

    Some random article about Ardern.

    • Trudeau well understands the 17 SDG’s “Sustainable Development Goals ” and is implementing them!
      https://sdgs.un.org/goals
From those goals you can see that is what Ardern and her crew are bringing about to New Zealand.
      .
The agricultural aspect is well covered here and many points are made that show how the control is done by the UN-WEF-SDG’s
      .
… Among the specific targets outlined in Goal 12 are several directly linked to agricultural policies that undermine food production. These include “sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources.”
      .
Perhaps more importantly, the document demands “environmentally sound management of chemicals and all wastes throughout their life cycle, in accordance with agreed international frameworks.”
      .
As a result, people and especially farmers must “significantly reduce their release to air, water, and soil in order to minimize their adverse impacts on human health and the environment.”
      .
Other SDGs that are directly tied to what critics have called the “war on farmers” include Goal 14, which addresses “marine pollution of all kinds, in particular from land-based activities, including … nutrient pollution.” The U.N. regularly describes agriculture and food production as a threat to the ocean. ….
      .
…… “If people are starving, they are much easier to subjugate,” he said, adding that depopulation and control over humanity have been on the agenda of global elites for decades.
      .
The “war on farmers” also comes amid what critics have described as a government-backed “war on energy” that’s affecting agriculture and virtually every other sector.
      .
This includes limiting energy exploration, shutting down power plants, charging special fees and taxes, and other policies that have resulted in rapidly rising costs across the Western world, although not in places such as China. ….

      https://ussanews.com/2022/07/31/un-world-economic-forum-behind-global-war-on-farmers-2/
      .
Worth the read, as many are not getting this.
      .
One should by now figure that it is SDGoals that are “Ardently” supported & now rule through so many parts of the NZ Government, Departments, Local Government, Bureaucracy, Technocracy, Academia & Media, & deeply imbibed by many of the general electorate.

The Corporate elites, CEO, etc figure that the SDG’s will cover their backs in this “Crony Governmental Capitalism” and so work collectively & in partnership to achieve all those WEF goals. 🙁

All those SDG concepts need to be questioned.
Just how far does Luxon make of them in his “collective energy and effort”? as mentioned above.
      https://ysb.co.nz/have-your-say-1198/#comment-260217

Question Seymour, and his cohorts in ACT on how they support those SDG’s?

Same again for Matt King, and his DemocracyNZ.

Then we need to convince and win the voters over.

      • The long march through the institutions is nearing its goal. Over 50 years of subverting professions & institutions has ensured that any opposition to socialism & globalism is backfooted.

All done under the cover of greenness & equality.

  16. Jeeze, that’s a bit rich.

Australian beer tax hikes pints up to $15 each
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/lifestyle/2022/08/australian-beer-tax-hikes-pints-up-to-15-each.html

Australians may have to skip the after-work bevvies as the country faces a drastic beer tax hike, where one pint could cost pub-goers up to AU$15 (NZ$16.66).

The tax is set to increase by 4 percent, making it the largest jump in 30 years, 9 News Australia reports.

Boxes of beers at the supermarket will also put a dent in the wallet, with the tax hike set to increase the price of one box to AU$18.80 (NZ$20.88).

      • Used to be that governments raised the price of the workingman’s beer & smokes at their peril. Eg Nash & Nordmeyer’s Black Budget of 1958 where tax & excise increases cost Labour the 1960 election.

Now an increase has the wimps whining into their craft beer & going outside to vape then voting Labour because Robertson takes it up the arse & Jacinda is kind!

        We’re buggered.

          • You’re right WG…….that’s exactly what happened. Workingmen knocked off at 4.30 or 5pm & had a couple of jugs at the local watering hole. Even after 6 o’clock closing got the arse most were home for tea not much after 6pm.

Topics discussed around the leaner were fairly predictable. How useless the current All Blacks were, what horse was a dead cert to win (& afterwards why it didn’t) & how the current mob of politicians were fucking the country. Sorry but as I recall women seldom got a mention. 🙂

All gone. Shit, I’m getting old.

  17. Edith informed Rissole yesterday afternoon that in her expert opinion, the level of corruption in New Zealand is disgusting.

“Jaccy is a fucken cwook” were Edith’s slurred words (Bombay gin)

Edith should know about this sort of thing. Her body is a temple of pleasure.

But I don’t discuss this with Fanny because Fanny flies to her defence. You know what women are like – they stick together: “Edith was a just bit pissed…”, “What do you expect from such a bubbly personality like Edith…”, “Lots of people have threesomes”, “Edith is just very ‘arty’…” excuses, excuses etc.

    • Has it got a title?
      A name?
      Any quotable bits?
What is about, it’s length of time, when was it produced. first published?
Any names who may be in it?

I know Joe Rogan with Robert Malone talked about “mass formation” and there is a “Belgian psychology professor, Mattias Desmet, PhD, of the University of Ghent, who developed the theory will supply its “extensive” evidence base, including “seminal academic works,”

Then I might find where that vid is on another platform.

Like this one on GB news

      • Sorry S1 it is a 7.0min ticktok video with no title and yes it is Mattias Desmet in the video. It is great because it explains simply and clearly how people get “sucked in” and how it is all likely to end up up based on what has happened in the past.

        2 hours, 2 minutes : Jul 14, 2022 : Bret Weinstein (DarkHorse)

Bret Speaks with Mattias Desmet on the subject of mass formation, a topic Mattias has spent a great deal of time exploring and has written a recent book on (The Psychology of Totalitarianism), linked below. They tackle this process from their differing backgrounds of expertise and discuss what it suggests about our path into the future

There are time timestamps, sort of like chapters one can cut to where you may be more interested in.

        Thanks Ross12,
It seems that Mattias Desmet is on a campaign, and others may be pulling out excerpts to high light.
Any way good on Mattias, if we meet, the beers are on me for showing up peoples stupidity, and just what human manipulations can do for ruthless people to control.

Government douses its proposal to limit exotic forests
    Olivia Wannan10:20, Jul 29 2022

A Government proposal to limit permanent exotic forests has been left to rot, according to a letter from the Climate Change Minister.

Earlier this year, the Government proposed that exotic trees in permanent forests would not be eligible to earn and sell carbon units.

Rural communities are concerned about new pine blocks. The Climate Change Commission says mass exotic planting would slow pollution cuts and “put our economy at a competitive disadvantage”. But because planting pine could be hugely profitable, foresters and landowners – including Māori leaders – vehemently opposed the suggestion.

  20. Vacationing in Hawaii, two priests decide to wear casual clothes so they won’t be identified as clergy. They buy Hawaiian shirts and sandals, and soon hit the beach. They notice a gorgeous blonde in a tiny bikini. “Good afternoon, Fathers,” she says as she strolls by.
The men are stunned. How does she know they’re clergy? Later they buy even wilder attire: surfer shorts, tie-dyed T-shirts, and dark glasses. The next day, they return to the beach. The same fabulous blonde, now wearing a string bikini, passes by, nods politely at them, and says, “Good morning, Fathers.”
“Just a minute, young lady,” says one of the priests. “We are priests and proud of it, but how in the world did you know?”
“Don’t you recognize me? I’m Sister Kathryn from the convent.”
