  1. R M, The cartoonists have an absolute feast of material available with the empty sock Ardern and her cabal of queers and weirdos running the place..
Arderns features leave her wide open for lampooning more than any other politician since piggy muldoon.

      • I was at the Arataki Visitor Centre on top of the Waitakere Ranges yesterday. They have one of those giant picture frames that you can get your photo taken in. I watched in awe, as 4 young young men climbed into the frame, stood up in it, and had their picture taken. Wearing masks.

        • How many fit young men has the coronavirus killed?

Here’s the latest Japanese data from Toyo Keizai. Ref: https://toyokeizai.net/sp/visual/tko/covid19/en.html

Note the chart on the far right, third down titled “Tested Positive By Age” (as of 9 August).
Of a total of 2,382,978 positives among people in their 20s in Japan to date, only 49 have died (with the coronavirus) and we do not know their comorbidities, such as diabetes, cancer, heart disease, etc.

In a random sample of 2,000,000 youth in their 20s, I am sure that you would find more than 49 who had really poor health or were dying.
At any rate, 50 out of 2,000,000 is 0.0025% or 1 in 40,000.

  2. so the Govt. has decided that bus companies can be Nationalized.
The Councils can own the buses and pay drivers a lot more because apparently they can’t find enough drivers because of the supposed low pay.

    Well woop de do.
We all have problems finding staff no matter what we pay.

Rather than deregulating the bus business entirely which is what is needed they give the job to more arses on seats who can’t run the bloody services now. The BOP is a grand example of the inability of councils to even understand the purpose of having buses let alone running them for the customers benefit.

Transport Minister Michael Wood announces new rules let councils nationalise bus and ferry networks

Local councils will be allowed to take over and run public transport services themselves rather than contract them to private companies under new rules announced by the Government today.

Transport Minister Michael Wood said he hoped the change to a less corporate model would help councils address the current bus driver shortage, saying the emphasis on cost-cutting had driven down driver pay and led to an exodus of drivers.

That had exacerbated problems with bus service cancellations.

He hoped other spinoffs would be to increase ridership and get more people out of cars, a key part of New Zealand’s climate change strategy, which aims to reduce the amount of driving by a fifth by 2035.

    • Viking, I know I am stating “The Obvious” and should go into Mastermind on that specialty subject, but Michael Wood is a fucking idiot.

      The article you quote states:

“Transport Minister Michael Wood said he hoped the change to a less corporate model would help councils address the current bus driver shortage.”

So Wood is only hoping. This Government is running the country on “hope”. On fucking “hope”.

There is no evidence that this will work, has worked or will benefit the country and there is no evidence this type of policy has worked anywhere is the world.

It seems this Government is now working at break neck speed to ruin this country and thank the Lord (who may have helped Winston put these fools into power), that I don’t live in a District that has any public transport in any of it’s major towns.

Re: ‘…I don’t live in a District that has any public transport in any of it’s major towns’.

Aaaah, but THAT is a mere detail old chap, You will be COMPELLED to take yourself to the nearest town which DOES have such things and to make use of the government-offered facility OR ELSE!!!

        Distance or dis-inclination has absolutely NO place in this; The government is being generous and kind-enough to provide it for you, so you are to use it….;

Memories of Soviet Russia do come to mind.

        • Komata, having to go to another town to use public transport is OK by me.

It is near on 320 km round trip to the closest Town with any sort of public transport, from where I live. I will be able to use my Gas Guzzler with great comfort and pleasure. I will be able to help increase size of the hole in the Ozone Layer, enlarge the pot holes in the roads so Wakawhevertheycallthemselves have to repair them once bitumen is available and create absolute anxiety amongst the Chattering Classes for my actions.

Selfish I know, but as the Government who is so concerned with public transport will not have Kiwirail (which they own) stop at Taumarunui, Te Kuiti, Taihape or any other larger town to pick up passengers, then I will just have to enjoy my Gas Guzzler.

            • Same as the busses around Hamilton early morning when they should be busy taking people to work maybe one person on the bus??? So worthwhile of the council to provide these busses they are a wonder to behold///////

              9

              0

        • Ed, there has been a big battle by the community to get any Kiwirail train to stop in Taumarunui and Te Kuiti. Kiwirail says they can’t stop in either town for passengers, just impossible, but it OK for many of the Kiwirail trains to stop in Taumarunui so that the train driver can take a 10 minute dump or leak. But it is not OK pick up passengers.

The logic of a Government Department I guess.

    • Nationalise means central Government ownership, as far as I’m concerned.

But “Transport Minister Michael Wood said he hoped the change to a less corporate model would help councils..” is a joke as all he is doing is this ” Transport Minister Michael Wood said he hoped a bureaucratic model would help councils …”

  3. These small-time investors don’t just cause problems for Rogers, but for people like Ockham Residential co-founder Mark Todd, too.
“Baby boomers shouldn’t be using their wealth and dumping it into the property market, they should be investing in sharemarkets that create jobs,” he says.

Buying existing property just inflates the value, it doesn’t create any jobs. I’m a property developer, if you want to make money in property you should build new properties.

What a cunt. Can’t make his model work in the market place so runs off at the mouth and wants taxpayer subsidies while wanting others to gamble on the share market.

    What a piece of shit.

    https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/opinion-analysis/129564357/build-to-rent-changes-and-providing-an-alternative-to-overleveraged-boomer-landlords

“That’s been the bane of my life, those type of investors, and negative gearing, that drive up property prices when I’m trying to buy property to develop to build new housing.”

Todd supports Government moves to phase out many property investors’ ability to offset their interest costs against their rental income in their tax returns.

With any luck he will join a lot of other “developers” and ho broke.

Bob Jones has always said the developing properties was a recipe for disaster.

  4. SUSTAINABILITY STATEMENT FROM THE FJA PARTY

We at the FJA (Freedom & Justice for All) Party believe that sustainability is a major concern if we are to progress or indeed survive as a country and ultimately as a species. To achieve this sustainability we have identified an urgent need to disempower all ecofucks, wokesters, climate change devotees, RNA injection fanatics, neomarxists, transfreaks, mask nazis and anti-farming activists. This is a matter of extreme urgency and, if these people and their policies are not stopped before they can do any more damage, human civilisation will be ultimately become unsustainable.

However it does appear to me that you have used the Trademark symbol FJA that has been in constant use by myself and Lizrep for quite some time without reference and as such may cause confusion amongst the readers,
I would remind you that FJA stand unequivocally for Fuck Jacinda Ardern – no ifs, no buts and certainly not mine – clear, concise and no room for misrepresentation but the user is quite clearly shown that Ardern can go and get fucked, a position that a majority of New Zealanders now apper to agree with with.

I can’t believe that the Green Mayor , Hawkins , gets elected when he doesn’t believe in democracy.
He says “the interests of minorities will never be served by a popular vote”
Dunedin ratepayers must be super thick to support this guy who is standing for mayor again.

That they might be does not excuse the wall to wall coverage of this and no other mention of the Labour Party.

Kiwis, employers and experts alike are increasingly worried about the impact the ongoing brain drain is going to have as figures show more people are leaving the country than arriving.

Figures show monthly net migration has been in the negatives since March last year and it’s hitting businesses hard.

Statistics New Zealand data released on Thursday shows Aotearoa saw a net migration loss of 11,500 permanent and long-term residents in the year to June. The figures show the lowest net migration since the 1990s.

“Stats NZ numbers show the numbers of departures from New Zealand are closer to normal than arrivals into New Zealand, meaning that more people are leaving than are coming in.”

It comes after a loss of 10,700 people in the year to May and 8700 people in the 12 months to April.

Authorities in Norway have euthanised a walrus that had drawn crowds of spectators in the Oslo Fjord after concluding that it posed a risk to humans.
    https://www.1news.co.nz/2022/08/15/norway-puts-down-freya-the-walrus-that-drew-oslo-crowds/

The 600kg female walrus, known affectionately as Freya, became a popular attraction in Norway in recent weeks, despite warnings from officials that people should refrain from getting close and posing for pictures with the massive marine mammal. Freya liked to clamber on small boats, causing damage to them.

Norway’s Directorate of Fisheries said Freya was put down early Sunday (local time) “based on an overall assessment of the continued threat to human safety.”

“We have sympathies for the fact that the decision can cause a reaction from the public, but I am firm that this was the right call,” Bakke-Jensen said. “We have great regard for animal welfare, but human life and safety must take precedence.”

Anne Heche was taken off life support and donated a number of organs, but as she was under the influence of cocaine and fentenyl when she crashed the car, how useful would those organs be? Do they have to be ‘cleansed’ in some way before use or do the drugs not transfer?

  13. What a braindead moronic academic retard…
Bardsley said the Government should consider using earth instead of concrete to build the dam and suggested it could be made using hydrogen-powered trucks, to reduce carbon emissions during construction.

“An ugly concrete dam would be sad for our last major dam, on the way to the green transition,” he said.

“Hydrogen generation on site would be easy using Onslow water and there is a line of pylons over Onslow now,” he said.

    https://i.stuff.co.nz/business/129543702/lake-onslow-power-scheme-pioneer-criticises-idea-of-ugly-concrete-dam

So build a single use hydrogen plant at the top of a mountain range to reduce emissions with all components for the green hydrogen plant be built and transported using fossil fuels rendering the whole idea pointless.

    19

    0

    • …should consider using earth instead of concrete to build the dam.

The idiots already believe that paying a carbon tax to Al Gore and Co, will stop climate change that is not happening.

So maybe while they are constructing the dam out of earth, they could get a petition going to have on hand, so that that when the dam is about to burst, they can present the petition to the dam and make it stop bursting its banks.

I am not sure my rebellious Trophy Wife will be in that group much longer as no Poms, for which my is one, were asked if they would like a Pommy “Cultural Advisor” to be appointed. She is feeling somewhat alienated.

    • What can go wrong? when NZ sends more troops to Europe to train Ukrainians to kill Russians.
So this can easily be considered a Declaration of War on Russia.
Is this how Ardern negotiates, has the “conversation”? Just stand up and kill the others.

So it would seem it is all to help the Ukrainians to fight until the last Ukrainian as the Mexican President opines.
…. Mexico has voted to condemn the invasion, but refused to join in sanctions on Russia.

López Obrador said Monday that the allies’ policy was equivalent to saying “I’ll supply the weapons, and you supply the dead. It is immoral.”

“How easy it is to say, ’Here, I’ll send you this much money for weapons,” Lopez Obrador said. “Couldn’t the war in Ukraine have been avoided? Of course it could.” ….
      https://apnews.com/article/russia-ukraine-mexico-caribbean-nato-b9aaddc8e3da3ad2b2cc013a6e8ff4bb

So it would seem to go with out saying, that New Zealand is part of holding sanctions against Russia.

Could a pesky Russian submarine pull and disconnect the Cook Strait electric cable?

Now I see more plainly why the connections in Paula Penfold’s “Fire & Fury doco, of the Russians are ‘a hacking’, and ‘a sending mis-mal-dis-information’ to New Zealanders.. 🙂

Based on Ardern’s declarations I may have to believe it, // but I think, if & when Putin moves against NZ we will know it.

Brain abscess kills man amid ‘widespread failures’ by Whanganui DHB

The Whanganui District Health Board (WDHB) has been found in breach of the Code for Health and Disability Services Consumers’ Rights (the Code) over its failure to provide services with reasonable care and skill after a man with an ear infection later died from a brain abscess.
    https://www.1news.co.nz/2022/08/15/brain-abscess-kills-man-amid-widespread-failures-by-whanganui-dhb/

The patient, a Māori man in his 30s, presented the DHB five times over two months with a recurring infection of the middle ear (otitis media).

During the visits, clinicians did not undertake adequate investigations to understand the extent of the disease, and whether the man had developed complications from the otitis media.

“Given the number of staff involved across multiple presentations, I consider that WDHB must take responsibility at an organisational level for the widespread failure in its service.”

      • This is what he said without the screen shots of the texts

“In December last year I gave the following screenshots in print to the Chief of Staff of Prime Minister when I made complaints about then Chief Whip Kieran McAnulty and his bullying. These are some of the messages from MPs who were also being bullied. One of the MPs spent almost 3 hours in tears talking about how they were being treated. Others asked me how to fake a Covid test so they didn’t have to come to Parliament because of how much they were scared of being bullied.
I specifically flagged to the Chief of Staff in our meeting that there were many members of caucus in this situation and I was worried about their mental health as well as lack of any support or due process. This isn’t just any staff, this is the Chief of Staff of PMO. I specifically said that this needed to be investigated but nothing was done at all. Instead a few months later Kieran was promoted to a Minister of the Crown unfortunately sending a message to caucus members being bullied that their well-being and concerns didn’t matter.
On Friday Prime Minister specifically said that she has been aware of issues surrounding me for a long time which obviously would include these claims as well as printed evidence I provided. On Tuesday in a meeting while discussing about Sam Uffindell’s issues with National Party, she specifically mentioned that something similar wouldn’t happen in Labour because she was advised of everything that happened in Caucus as well as within the Party.
After 1.5 years of going through every manager, every office, knocking every door in Parliament I never got heard. Even after I wrote an op-Ed last week raising my concerns there was an attempt to deny that bullying existed or any serious allegations were made. In addition to that the party machinery has been trying to deflect the situation by trying to dig my past and make accusations about me. I could be a hardened criminal with 30 years of prison record or a murderer but that should not stop me from getting a fair independent hearing re my concerns.
I have been told since my op-Ed came out that I shouldn’t talk to the media and instead should raise things with the Whips or the Leader but that’s exactly what I have tried to do for last 1.5 years without being heard at all. And now I am being silenced again as such the bullying continues.
I have been driven to this point because even now the party and it’s leadership refuses to believe that there is a problem.
It’s a sad day for our democracy. “

Labour MPs are brushing off questions about Jacinda Ardern’s leadership as support for the party and the Prime Minister continues to drop.

Ardern’s Labour suffered another drop in the polls on Monday, while National remained ahead on 37 percent.

Labour’s vote was down two points to 33 percent and, while National had also fallen two points, it would be able to form a Government with fellow right-bloc party ACT (up four points to 11 pct).

Ardern’s preferred Prime Minister ranking also dropped to 30 percent, down three points.

National Party leader Christopher Luxon also declined. He was down three points to 22 percent.

ACT Party leader David Seymour climbed two points to 5 percent.

“We are obviously in a pretty tough time for a lot of New Zealanders in this winter where a lot have been sick, where we do have [the] cost of living issues for a lot of people, but I’m very optimistic that we’ve got a good programme, we’ve got unemployment very low, we’ve got strong investments in infrastructure, health and education.”

Māori Development Minister Willie Jackson said there were no questions about Ardern’s leadership.

“We’re not looking at the leader of the party at all,” he said. “We’ve got a great leader and I think we’re polling OK. I think we’re fine actually, at the moment.”

Asked if Labour was deflated by the poll results, Jackson said, “not at all” and it was the Opposition that “should be deflated”.

“They might’ve thought that they would have been about 10 or 15 percent ahead,” he said. “We’re 14-15 months out from an election – I’m very comfortable with where we’re at. I think we’re tracking well and [I’m] really proud of our leader.”

In an earlier poll by Curia for the Taxpayers’ Union in July, National sat at 37 percent – only slightly above Labour’s 34.7 percent. That poll was described as “broadly positive” for the left bloc, given the right would not be able to govern without the support of the Māori Party (3.7 pct).
