  1. So last night NZ time, Russian President Putin made two announcements. The Ukraine breakaway republics and a couple of other regions will hold referendum on joining the Russian federation. Based on interviews of the locals by independent journalists reporting there, I am convinced they won’t need to commit Democrat style fraud to get a yes vote.
The other announcement is a partial mobilisation of reservists for action in Ukraine. He’s calling up 300,000 men to serve with a focus on those that have relevant skills for the special military operation. Ukraine is going to be fucked as a country after this. Already Hungary has been eyeing up a region where there is a significant Hungarian population that has been complaining of discrimination. An ex Romanian foreign minister was saying the other day that Ukraine should be giving back land to Poland, Hungary, Moldova and Romania. Calling Ukraine a country with artificial borders.
Going to get really hot in Eastern Europe.

Ardern hits out at Putin after meeting with Ukrainian PM. Video / NZ Herald

Reminds me of the old saying that”fools go where angels fear to tread.”

Ardern said New Zealand stood “firmly against the escalation of this invasion”.
She is mad in the head.
Send her to the front line.
Oh no she will be like all the Labour Cowards.
    Indepspensible back at home.

  3. Copied from ‘Swifty’ on Kiwiblg:

“This disparity, 40% of school leavers functionally illiterate or innumerate, the news this week that billions have gone into barn-like classrooms on no evidence and the ministry being unable to demonstrate whether it has improved educational outcomes – meanwhile the Education Ministry is costing us $500 million annually in salaries alone.

The effective state monopoly in education is a clear and open failure. It is failing NZ families, the very people who fund the whole rotten structure.

The fact that Labour smashed charter schools in their budding infancy tells us all we need to know – that competition cannot be tolerated and that the state monopoly is there to serve politicians, teachers and the education unions with educational outcomes, especially for the poor, brown and male students and their families way down the list.

Last time I looked we rated 35th out of 36 OECD countries for primary and secondary educational outcomes. In the early 70s we were first in the OECD.

Our politicians, union officials, academics and a ministry staff who have delivered these outcomes should be ashamed.

For New Zealanders who would care to look, this whole thing serves as a classic and real example of how governments and their vested interest cronies wreck everything over time – that eventually the interests of the incumbents take precedence over the people the set up was established to serve.

The whole thing is a disgrace.

    • Id love to see the stats comparing state vs public, its highly likely private schools are included and making the appalling stats appear better.
Public schools are probably 60-70% fail rate with numeracy and literacy.

Homeschool your kids unless you hate them and want them to become utter failures, its going to take a decade or so to show the true effects of what our destroyed woke education system has done to our kids.

    • “…40% of school leavers functionally illiterate or innumerate…”

I would like to know what percentage of those school leavers are:
      – from single-parent families on welfare
      – from households where there are no permanent books
      – from households where no one goes to a public library
      – from a culture that discourages scholarship
      – from a household that rarely prepares meals from scratch (i.e., typically uses packaged foods / takeaways)
      – from a household that buys Coca Cola by the case

      (Correlation is not causation.)

  4. Yes.
If National were to gain the treasury benches again one of the first tasks would be to swiftly dismantle the education system and rebuild without the union control and leftist administration.
But one of many key moves that will likely never occur .

Can you provide evidence of this; that it is in fact Nat policy’ and not just lux flakes et al ‘mouthing off’ with no actual, factual, ‘verifiable in writing’ basis to their words.

      Thanks.

David Seymour has hit out at Jacinda Ardern over this week’s Christchurch Call summit, saying she should be focusing on local problems.

Speaking to AM Early on Thursday, ACT leader Seymour said Ardern’s contribution to the UN General Assembly has been “negligible” and believes her time is better used elsewhere.

“You look at things like the Christchurch Call, you can just imagine a global tech giant who actually did get those videos on March 15 taken down as rapidly as humanly possible and along comes Jacinda Ardern with her Christchurch Call telling them how to suck eggs,” Seymour told host Bernadine Oliver-Kerby.

“I suspect they probably have a bit of a chuckle at her and really it’s truly pathetic that we have a Prime Minister who spends all this time ineffectually grandstanding while people are getting robbed at home, and her Government can’t even dish out support for businesses under that sort of pressure.

  6. A white man was walking along the beach when he tripped over, he reached out and realised he’d tripped over 2 lamps, he rubbed them and out popped 2 genies.
“Does this mean I get 6 wishes!?” He shouted,
“No, you get 3 wishes like everyone else” says the Genie.
He makes his 3 wishes and the genie tells him to head home and they’ve been granted. The man gets home and goes straight to his bedroom and sees the most beautiful woman on his bed and makes love to her for hours, he then goes into his backgarden and notices his garden filled with $50 notes, then he hears a knock at the door, he goes and answers it and there’s 2 figures wearing white hoods, they grab the man, tie a noose round his neck and hang him from the balcony till he dies, they take their hoods off and it’s the 2 genies, one genie turns to the other and says “I understand him wanting to have sex with the most beautiful woman in the world, and to have the most money in the world but why would he want to be hung like a black man?!”

  7. Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath.
This made him (this is so bad, it’s good)…..A super calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.

  8. The Epoch Times carries a story on Rory Nairn’s Pfizer caused death and gives details surrounding it that the NZ media decided that we didn’t need to know about…
“The pharmacist who vaccinated Nairn told the inquiry that he had not been warned of the risk of myocarditis from the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
The Ministry of Health said it had issued warnings that outlined the risk of myocarditis as a rare side effect of the vaccine.
But the manager of the pharmacy where Nairn got vaccinated criticised the ministry for putting myocarditis information in small bullet points.”

  10. Any truth in that Ardern is encouraging all out war against Russia?
What Hitler referred to as “ a small bankrupt island in the South Pacific “ has no business threatening anyone!
She is just stupid enough to lead , oops ,send our army or what’s left of it , after first giving a haka.
Hope she stays in New York!

Conflicts of interest at the heart of the Ardern government

    .
A family, king & all aristocrats, with a divine ‘mana’ of a “born to rule”.
    .
…. how those conflicts were managed and that is what the Public Service Commissioner will investigate in four of the Mahuta contracts –
being those with the Departments of Conservation, Environment, Housing and Maori Development.
    .
What the Commissioner will find is a wildly variable range of approaches with only one common factor – they all failed.
    .
The Commissioner will need to ascertain, as best he can, whether the current policies are fit-for-purpose and why there was such a poor record of compliance. ……

  12. Isn’t it convenient for ardern to be in New York, at the un at the most important time in the last ten years! ( or so she thinks. She gets a fat head just been there)
This Putin thing will be keeping her there at the centre of world domination for some time!
She will probably abdicate from her roll as New Zealand PM to take a favorable position!
This leave the effeminate Robertson to annointed in her place.
A position that he would never have got. Would he have the shortest term ever?

  13. FFS what in the hell is Mahoota up to.

If I was a suspicious person my thoughts would be she is walking on very thin ice. I do not believe that her partners ability to land the contracts are based on his business skills.

Most likely it’s the result of pillow talk and the good old insider trading.

Interesting that recently she has had a road to Damascus moment with her dumping tent like clothing and a golden shears hairstyle.

She still waddles like a pregnant duck.

    • It’s same with clarkE getting plumb tv fishing shows and housemoving show!
They were just plum contracts handed to him because he was the pm’s partner and the media were trying to curry favor!

      • What happened to the expert House Mover, Fishboy’s, House Moving programme. I was lead to believe by the Governments organ, TVNZ that it was supposed to be a monumental hit show, one that every New Zealander would be riveted to their TV for and one, where endless repeats would be played, commencing immediately the initial run had finished and then syndicated worldwide to huge acclaim?

It seems to have promptly disappeared.

Zero-emission seaglider set to transform travel in NZ completes maiden voyage

A prototype of the zero-emission “seaglider” touted as having the potential to transform travel around New Zealand has completed its first maiden flight.

Part plane, part ferry and part hydrofoil, the fully electric seagliders travel at high speed just above the water’s surface.

Ocean Flyer, a business founded by former banker and Air Napier owner Shah Aslam and former New Zealand Air Force chief John Hamilton, signed a $700 milion deal in April to bring 25 seagliders to New Zealand.

  16. Looking at the big picture of excess deaths in the UK (1990 to 2020 data only).

True: Excess deaths showed a tremendous increase between 2019 and 2020.
True: Excess deaths in 2020 were lower than they were for any year from 2008 back to 1990.

It’s like the excess death rate was unusually low in the years 2011 to 2019.

      • There’s never much in the way of passing bays for downhill traffic & a 60 metre rig needs quite a bit of room to pull over & tuck themselves in.

I reckon the Toll driver who smoked up his tyres to avoid the dickhead will need a change of underwear.

        0

        • Agreed but I still say that there are things people can do, like pulling over. especially if they are driving slowly and frustrating other drivers.

We have the same thing going to Kawhia. Not necessarily traffic volumes.

          • Most truckies are pretty good & the majority of transport companies view road courtesy as a public relations goal. (or rather bad press resulting from complaints by pissed off car drivers worries them).

But by far the worst drivers to be stuck behind are the 50% of old buggers, such as ourselves, who totally ignore their rear view mirrors & mad mothers too busy yelling at their ill brought up brats to give a fuck for other road users.

            9

      • These things will continue until we fix the roads. The roads were never designed ot accommodate 60 foot 55 tonners ( and nor are the bridges), and the Kaimai has had this problem forever as does the Pyes Pa to Rotorua road and the Tauranga to katikati rd..
Once again fix the bloody road.
Sure he is an idiot and I see he was driving a courtesy car.
He probably changed his undies but you have to hand it to him for his quick thinking in go to the right and not causing a big accident which it would have been if he taken any other action.
        Still an idiot.

  18. I realise that linking to this quote is preaching to the choir on YSB but I’ve never seen the argument better or more succinctly put:

……”They want everyone reliant on a Universal Basic Income at the behest of the globalist government.

With rising energy prices and food prices about to jump to exorbitant levels what better time to bring in the UBI “free lunch” except there is no such thing as a “free lunch.”

So how would this work in reality. For the last 2 years we have seen vaccines and vaccine passports being used in order to gain access to pubs, restaurants etc. The exact same could be used for UBI.

If you don’t take your vaccine and booster then your UBI could be withheld. Your UBI will tie into your Digital ID which in turn will be connected to your social credit score. Your social credit score allows you to participate in society.

Your civil liberties and rights will be tied into your social credit score. If you criticise the government, you won’t receive your UBI which will be in the form of a digital currency. Your bank account could be shut down by the press of a button.

This probably all sounds very far-fetched but you don’t have to look far to see that the closing down of bank accounts and people being arrested has already happened when truckers protested in Canada.”……..

Don’t look at Canada, just check-out China, where it’s already in place and has been operating for about two years.

With Xi having implemented it already, he is now an ‘expert’ and given dl’s slavish adherence to his policies, for little old NZ, it’s a matter of ‘when’ rather than ‘if’.

If the covid experience is a guideline, then the majority of Kiwi’s will accept it all without a murmur and luxflakes and see-less will enthusiastically ‘co-operate ‘For the good of the antions’ (And, no doubt, their individual bank accounts).

    • Another point today, in opening an account to a business, they wanted me to sign up.
The real annoyance is that they want my driver licence number.
      Now is that really necessary?????
Are they really able to check my Drivers licence number.
I have given them all my other addresses, phone numbers, and even another work place incidentally.

It is a business where they are the only business that can repair certain machinery.
Really annoys me to having to comply in that way to what seems to be a “Necessary Evil”
