Only the most lunatic of lunatics would deny that the climate changes, it’s always changed, there hasn’t been a single moment in the history of the planet when the climate hasn’t been subjected to variations. That is the tiny little grain of truth that Stuff and all the rest of ‘bought and paid for’ liars are hiding behind.
The huge list of Ardenesque untruths that hides behind that tiny little grain of truth is the problem:
– that mankind plays anything more than a margin of error part in the eons long climate change
– worse, that the scarcest compound in the photosynthesis cycle (ie the foundational basis of life on Earth – which is so scarce that it can only be measured in parts per million) is responsible for climate change
– that the waxing and waning of the Sun (the source of all heat in our solar system) has nothing to do with Earth’s climactic variations (even though the ice core record proves it cycles perfectly in parallel with temperatures on Earth)
– that there is 97% consensus on the insane Co2 theory (there isn’t, it’s all based on an Australian blogger making shit up)
– that there is warming (there hasn’t been any now for a long time and we’re entering a mini ice-age that will be in full force by 2050)
– that even though the inventor of the hockey stick is shown time and time again to be a big fat data tamperer (losing a major court case last month because he didn’t dare release his data to real statistical experts because he knew it would be proved fraudulent)

I agree happy, I went looking for material to do a hit job on Mau for not speaking out – and bugger me if I couldn’t find any proof that she’d been ducking the issue, I guess the MSM weren’t giving it headline positioning as it didn’t fit the narrative, but she’s been chipping away.
She has been holding back on the issue a bit though, trying to conflate “Jacinda lied like an Alabama hooker” into “all of NZ is full of toxic males trying to cover up sexual assault”.
In the end though, the whole #MeToo thing for Mau was about trying to breathe life into her ‘well passed its use by date’ career, so in the end she clearly decided to put self-interest ahead of left wing tribalism in the interests of trying to eke a few more shekels out of the MSM dung heap. This research has been around for a long time, but for some bizarre reason (I wonder why) it seems not to have been covered much in NZ (funny that).
The research seems to suggest that parts of the Amazon were colonised by people from Australia or PNG up to 130,000 years ago! The interesting bit is that the genetic signal is ONLY in South America and NOT in North America! Meaning that these ancient Pacific people did not go through the Bearing Strait land bridge and they can only have gotten to South America across the Pacific Ocean. 130,000 years ago!!!
Which is pretty frigging earth-shattering given that it was previously thought that North and South America were only colonised only about 13,000 years ago. It’s even more inconvenient for Māori though.
The whole grievance industry is based on Māori being in NZ first having arrived roughly 800 years ago. But if these original Pacific peoples could’ve made it all the way across the Pacific to South America 130,000 years ago – it seems implausible in the extreme that these magnificent ocean travelling people wouldn’t have run across little old NZ on their way to South America!
Which makes it utterly insane that the basis for a whole grievance industry is based on being the second to last settlers in NZ with these earlier first Pacific people having beaten the Māori to NZ by around 129,200 years or so.

Agree Kea. I spent time in Borneo ( the Malaysian side) a couple of years ago. There are quite a few ethnic groups and the older males from a couple of those groups would fit in well ( appearance wise) with a group of Maori guys. The females not so much.

You will not know to close to the election. If ACT is polling at 0.5% then they will not likely bring in another MP. However, if they are polling anything above 1% your vote could make a difference.

Much as I would like to see Labour/Greens go, I don’t see National as a significant improvement over them. They won’t roll all of this COL back, they’ll keep a lot of it.

Harder to do than it sounds Kea. Market gardeners could plough their crops back in but pastoral farmers are mostly caught up in supply contracts. Instance in my case where I made most of my profit from buying in lambs (organised in advance) & raising them to an agreed weight. (under contract).
Try withholding the stock & you’d either have your arse sued off or you’d never get another supply contract this side of Armageddon. My sympathies lie with my ex fellow cockies but I fear that any boycott will be short lived.
