  1. While Countdown and Foodstuffs are demanding action and data from Farmers, who is checking up on these Arrogant Bastards, Countdown and New World and demanding the same from them?

And why are they wishing to be the “conscience” of the Nation? The only reason can be greed, control and more voracious greed.

“Countdown head of sustainability, Catherine Langabeer, said as part of its wider sustainability plan Countdown committed to reduce supplier emissions by 90% by 2030.

Supplier made up 98% of Countdown and Woolworths New Zealand’s carbon footprint in the 2022 financial year, Langabeer said.”

If these rapacious hypocritical arseholes Countdown and Foodstuffs are so concerned about their “Carbon Footprint” why do they just not stop selling food altogether and put their money into something which will ease their Corporate Conscience and leave Farmers alone to do what they do best. One does wonder however, if they are going to wield their big stick on Farmers in this country, are they going to do the same for manufacturers and farmers in say the EU and Poland where they import products like Cream Cheese from and happily sell it at huge inflated costs here. I bet they are not.

    • Unreal, bet they dont force all transportation of food to be via ev, why not go the full hog and screen customers for their carbon footprint?
After all its not the producer that causes the emissions its the demand of their customers.
Best they ditch all plastic wrap in store too, hemp/jute uniforms, solar powered stores and best not allow payment using dreaded plastic cards and god forbid a customer pay via a smartphone that has an enormous carbon footprint and produced by slave labour….
They should just give up now and gift the stores to the environmental guardians of aotearoa//

Kea still wonders why food is so fucking expensive here, “iTs JuSt ExCuSeS”….

Fuck the cunts, just stop supplying. Plenty of unwoke butchers, green grocers and milk suppliers around with the added bonus of them usually being far cheaper then the supermarket.

    • Don’t be fooled: Expert advice on tackling greenwashing
      Sarah Heeringa07:56, Jul 17 2023

Earth smart. Natural. Green. Nontoxic. Planet-friendly.

If a company or its products make claims that sound good, but are essentially vague or meaningless, then let the warning bells ring. It could be greenwashing.

We have power as consumers to choose products from companies that are trying not to pollute or add to the world’s carbon emissions. When companies make bogus or over-rated claims it can thwart our good intentions.

      It pays to be suspicious.

A recent Consumer investigation found New Zealand to be awash with misleading green claims. Oh Yeas.

    • Well here is the opportunity for the farmers to throw the new science data on methane emmisions out into the open. Luxon and co. will not do it but the farmers can throw it at the the supermarkets and say they are down to that level now and if they are so worried they should look in the mirror like SB suggests.
I learnt something yesterday talking to a farmer — I had mistakenly thought all the winter grazing regs, limitations on ploughing land above a certain slope etc. was just for the south of the South Island but it actually applies every where.

Heavier than the equivalent ICE vehicle.

add in greater weight again from the guilt of knowing your fat bastard batteries come from child slave labour; yet you still bought the thing AND took the $8000 cross subsidy from decent vehicle owners!!

Fat Bastard vehicles– Still not paying for the roads you wreck, either.

    • And EVs higher weight creates more road wear and what is the weight capacity of multi level parking buildings floors and are they sufficient when full of EV weighing a quarter to half a ton more than the ICE vehicles the buildings were designed for. When road user charges are applied to EVs they should reflect the extra road damage and some – say 150% of a light truck. Labour should love this being the uber high tax party.

Maori seem to be out of control at the moment. Poor woman her ankle will never be the way it was before this debacle. Slap on the wrist by a wet bus ticket again from the woke judges? I am pretty confident after a report on their lives by the probation officer that is what it will be. It seems be careful out there as you never know who is out to get ya is not enough now its be careful in your own homes as you never know who is out to get ya as well.

I think we are in for a rough ride for maybe 20+ years with this lot, liarbor and national/act. Then there will be an uprising and people will not stand for it any longer. This will give time for the woke to change their tunes and realise life in the once many years ago free New Zealand is not what it used to be, and they want it back. Pāmu closes road access to conservation park because of ‘dangerous and disrespectful behaviour’
    Rachael Kelly12:35, Jul 12 2023

Pāmu has closed access through its land to a conservation park because of repeated dangerous and disrespectful behaviour by members of the public.

The state-owned enterprise, formerly known as Landcorp, owns Eyre Creek Station near Athol in northern Southland.

It has closed access to the Eyre Mountains via the station indefinitely, from July 5.

The valley, near Athol, is popular with anglers, trampers, four-wheel drivers and horse trekkers and is about an hour from Queenstown and Invercargill.

    • Viking, you are assuming that ‘dangerous and disrespectful behaviour’ actually happened. Has there been any evidence of this ‘dangerous and disrespectful behaviour’ produced by Pamu. Have there been any Court cases culminating in convictions.

Nah! Didn’t think so, I suspect there are other matters at play here and guess Ngai Tahi will take over this land as they can manage it better than your Government representatives. Well, so Pamu, DOC and Ngai Tahu will claim.

Would happily let buddies up there but joe public had to bow to his demands and come bearing suitable gifts, probs also dosent help that track is a ute killer and the station always gets harrassed to tow out drowned vehicles.
The pigs will now breed good and start fucking the place, next years sob story will be about the mass destruction of farmland done by pests.

Stupid boy hates fake cnuts, couple of mates have instagram wives that portray beauty and everything perfect etc… its all a front theyre miserable, broke and ugly narcisists, one looks like an 11/10 on all her online pics (ex stripper too) but real life shes a 4/10 at best and wouldnt even get a second glance in public. Filters/photoshop etc have alot to answer for, destroying many chicks self confidence and body image.

“I know what you mean,” the second mother interjected. “I was cleaning my son’s room when I found empty beer cans. I never knew he was drinking.”

‘Ukraine represents the entire system of NZers’ values’ says Hipkins — oh yeah?

    Waikanae watchers
    Jul 14

Those who read yesterday’s RNZ article (a broadcaster whose boss is another cheerleader for Biden and his warmongering), will have seen this sentence:
“We’re absolutely behind you,” Hipkins assured Zelensky. “We see [Russia’s invasion] … as an attack on the entire system of values and rules that New Zealanders firmly support.”
New Zealand has so far contributed more than $80 million in “diplomatic, military and humanitarian assistance”, said Hipkins, as well as support for Ukraine’s legal case against Russia, sanctions targeting more than 1500 Russian and Belarusian individuals and entities, as well as “restrictive trade measures”.
Hipkins should speak for himself. What did Hipkins have to say about Dubya’s “unprovoked and illegal” invasion of Iraq back in 2003 or was he a supporter of that instead? For hypocritcal Hipkins and his government it’s a case of “it’s all right when we do it, but not when they do it.”
Breaking promises, censoring, muzzling and shutting down opposition, autocracy, disinformation, subterfuge, tryanny, thuggery and persecution (including torturing and killing) by neo-Nazis of those who don’t conform to dictates of the regime are all certainly values of both the Hipkins and Zelensky governments as we’ve witnessed. We can’t yet add to that corruption, big time theft, money laundering, drug dealing and black market arms dealing because we don’t have the evidence that the Hipkins government engages in those standard activities of their counterpart politicians in Kiev and Washington DC.
The above are not the values of most New Zealanders. All three governments deserve only contempt.

But the residents of the East Coast DON”T actually matter; they are mere ‘people’ (And probably Nat voters anyway), are totally ‘dispensable’ and easily forgettable; it’s the WORLD stage which is important and any socialist worthy other ideology just HAS to be seen by his peers (And Klaus) or they will be deemed irrelevant.

Contrary to all their anti -establishment rhetoric, the lefts actually LOVE accolades and will go to great lengths to receive the applause they believe they deserve as of right…

    • Through my business, I got to know the Ukraine very well, having been there every 6 weeks for 12 years during the late 1980’s through the 1990’s and having loaded 48 million tons of Potash during that time, from Ukrainian ports like Kherson, Ilyichevsk and Mariupol, I can honestly say the Ukrainians are a very poor quality, violent (from my close observations) East Slavic people.

If Hipkins wants to stand by them, he can, I don’t and I don’t want him to include me in his fascination with them, or spend my hard earnt money by way of Taxes, on them. Personally, I would not piss on a Ukrainian if he was on fire, such is my low opinion of them.

There is also the small detail as to the condition of said lands when they are returned to their supposedly original owners!!

As the lands were all in a wild state before they were taken by the then (‘Colonial’) government, it is, of course, only reasonable that they should be returned to said owners in something closely-approximating that state, so on that basis, expect the ‘White’ owners of such lands to pull down everything they and their forebears had created prior to the much-vaunted return, – and that there will be an almighty squawk from the new ‘carers’ of the returned properties when they don’t get all the infrastructure that was on the land before it was returned, to be followed by an immediate demand for Government compensation due to the unfair actions by the now-former land owners.

Altruism is not a uniquely-European construct, and consequences come in a variety of forms…

      • The marginal utility of guns and blankets to people who previously had sharpened sticks; with flax as the only answer to 2 of the 3 factors of food, shelter, clothing was very high.

To flog off some land they had likely not been in charge of for more than 60 years at best, for the high marginal utility of blankets and guns is often misunderstood.
It was fair value exchange in context.

It is not like maori had GBP money to buy with; greenstone would not have been understood as a ‘currency’ and only available to some tribes; so land they could lose next month in a fight (with sharp sticks) was of low value. Flog it off to get some actual useful stuff.

Some tribes had land confiscated in the 1860s as they continued old utu , but with more deadly horses (travel further) and guns years after their ‘leaders’ had signed up to a treaty.
        Not cool.

People making judgement (I’m ‘being kind’ here ) in the 2020s or even 1970s that blankets you can buy from the Farmers TC, or guns from the local Guns n Ammo just was not a thing in 1820.
Most softcocks are too stupid to understand this.

It is the same LOGIC as
-Men can get preggers and chest feed

      – women get paid the same for the same role (it is the law) but don’t FEEL like they do, so they feel like they get paid less, therefore it is a fact they are paid less, coz feelz

-wiminz tennis players (hideously inconsistent) get same pay as men for less work (first to win 2 sets, vs. Men , first to win 3 sets) but that is fair.

Now, if the FIFA gals made some sandwiches for the spectators……..

      • What is often missed in women led discussions about pay in female sport is the rock bottom appeal it has to the general public because it is that appeal that puts bums on seats which attracts sponsors & advertisers.

Not to put too fine a point about it, women’s sport is boring because it’s slow. Women’s cricket is so slow & boring that it defies description. Likewise for rugby, doubly so for soccer because it’s boring regardless of who plays it. People have been known to pray for death rather than endure the spectacle of women’s golf. Did I mention that women’s sport is boring? And slow.

    • Sooty, no. If you are referring to the Greens Policy to take land off current owners and give it to Maori, having listened to Marama Davidson, she is just displayed that this Greens Policy, is very poorly thought out and that she is just plain, THICK.

If this become Policy under a Labour / Greens coalition (which it could because Labour will not dismiss it as they need the Greens as a Coalition Party), I look forward to any Maori landowner wishing to sell their land being squeezed and selling at a lowball price which similarly the Greens will want Colonialists to accept. Further, I look forward to the Maori seller seeing their land be purchased and then given to a Tribe, not of the sellers IWI. Should be fun.

  17. Car repossessions are going through the roof in the USA. We will follow. This is just like the 2008 GFC when the entire world economy was destroyed by lending (printing) too much money to buy houses. We never recovered from 2008 and all that has happened is countries have carried on printing money. The low interest rates resulted in another orgy of money printing for houses, with the fake rich lending on vehicles, hence the repos.

Just have a think about it – the entire global economy destroyed along with billions of peoples lives – just to prop up the debt based housing ponzi. Anyone defending this needs to be purged from society using the most inhumane means imaginable. They represent the lowest expression of humanity and need to be exterminated promptly.

Let people make up their own minds and not be guided by media sensationalism over every poll result, the parties would also have to campaign under more genuine circumstances and not just be a windsock and blow whichever way the polls say they should.

All i see with the way theyre reported/framed is just more manipulation. They can do anything they want to voters really, panic voters, encourage voting for a safer party eg 5+%, lull into false sense of security, make them feel hopeless/not vote etc.

    • Only millenials are influenced by polls. It is because you are the first generation to think getting likes on social media is the most important thing in the world. The rest of us experienced reality and just thought it was a bit of fun. But you need to “fit in”.

You are deeply worried about what everyone else thinks, which goes some way to explaining your hysteria about house prices falling.

      • Im not the one envious and worried hysterically posting 100x per week about housing stuff.

Youre very wrong about only millenials being influenced, just look how easily influenced everyone was through covid. It happened and happened very easily.
Anyone at all can be influenced, the influencer just needs to find common ground/cause and they can play someone like a fiddle.

Most millenials and zoomers also probably dont give a fuck about polls either, theyll just vote for whoever has the most free stuff or benefits them the most. Middle age and boomer folk esp gullable women will be the main target of media manipulation.

        • No one is envious of you dickhead least of all me. Your ego is hilariously inflated.

You are a gutless coward who sits there writing shit about trivia but has a bitch fit if I share facts on the biggest social and economic problem we face.

          1

          2

          • Didnt say envious of me, i dont give a fuck about youor your dramas.
Just pointing out your overall envy and insecurities when it comes to housing… your obsession screams desperation and jealousy of anyone that has a house.

Just shows how blind you are if you think the housing market is the biggest social and economic problem we face… what a retard.

            • How do you figure I am envious for caring about the state of the country?

There is nothing obsessive about my comments. Unlike you meat puppets droning on and on about details.

You really need to stop being a shit person and embrace reality as you have big trouble coming.

    • What worries me about polling in the period before the election are those people who treat a polling booth as a TAB.
I have heard numerous people say they picked the winner.
They don’t know what they are voting for. They just want to pick the winning party and candidate.
      So, they follow the polls.
Dumb! Yes it is dumb, but the scary part is there is a huge number of dumb bastards.

  19. Nelson is one of the most expensive areas for housing in NZ, especially if you take into account incomes.

House prices have dropped over 17% in 12 months and are still falling

A sleazy spruiker told you to buy dear reader, even as they liquidated their Nelson property and ran off to rent in South East Asia. I think the only thing we need to ask ourselves is should his lying tongue be cut from his filthy mouth before he is gibbeted and hung at the city gates.

  20. With the greens new racist policy how fo they “buy land back at market rates” when there will be no competitive market due to first right of refusal?
Market rates is what it sells for on open market so highest bidder, unless greens plan is done via auction then its nothing more then taxpayer funded blackmailing of the vendor.

  21. India ties up with UAE to settle trade in rupees

India has signed an agreement with the United Arab Emirates that will allow it to settle trade in rupees instead of dollars, boosting India’s efforts to cut transaction costs by eliminating dollar conversions.

During a visit by India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the UAE on Saturday, the two countries also agreed to set up a real-time payment link to facilitate easier cross-border money transfers.

    • “DNZ, freedoms nz and ONE are each on 1%”

Theyre likely only 0.7 or 0.8 and been rounded up like last time.
Even if ⅓ of the refuse/dont know voted for dnz theyre still unlikely to get in and miss out by a whisker.
The dnz crew have also gone extremely quiet on matt king winning northland.

The blue rinse thing is well gone although we unfortunately have imported a lot and a lot of red faced labour supporters as well.

  23. A study from March of this year revealed that significant quantities of PFAS are found in virtually every brand of toilet paper on the market. The average American will use 26kg of toilet paper a year. 19+ billion lb of toilet paper are flushed down American toilets each year.

Recycled paper will often get a double dose (i.e. once when the paper was first made, then again when it’s recycled).
The PFAS most present in toilet paper and sewage was 6:2 diPAP, which has been linked to impaired testicular function in men
