      • Did Maori come from Rarotonga for people who come from there, they are Rorotongans, not Maori?

Here Mr Crumb, is a question for you.

Did Maori as a Race exist before they came to this country a mere 700 years ago?

And if Maori existed as a Race before they came to this country, where are the remnants of them now, or are they just a bunch of disaffected Pacific Islanders, as they were disaffected to leave the Pacific Islands to come here and they still seem disaffected?

          • My maori mate gets right into this stuff, he rekons maori came from all over the place in different waves and thats why they were always scrapping.
Rekons 3 main waves, the earth ppl (moriori, they were peaceful) the stone people (waitaha, they discovered the greenstone etc and also peaceful) then the last massive wave of the maori you mostly see remnants of today, they were the scrapping bastards hell bent on killing and eating everyone else.

He could talk for days on all thing maori, hes not one of those greedy activist types and he has lots to say that he cant say around some family or his tribe mates. He even acknowledges maori werent first here and thats just a lie and best of all he says fuck the treaty we’re all just kiwis, gets pissy too at the trashing of te reo and maori culture by forcing it on everyone too.

        • Mrs Euro and I are holidaying in Tahiti at the moment and last week we visited the Museum of Tahiti and the Islands. It’s a really professionally done museum and it outlines how the Polynesians migrated south from Hawaii and first settled in what is now French Polynesia, using huge ocean going catamaran canoes with sails and sometimes a deck house spanning the two hulls.

From Tahiti, they explored east to Rapanui (Easter Island) and even to South America, and west to Rarotonga, to New Caledonia and perhaps even further.

The last place the Polynesians settled, several hundred years after arriving in the South Pacific, was New Zealand. Although it wasn’t stated as such in the museum, this was probably because New Zealand is well outside the tropical band that formed their ‘comfort zone’. The North Island is like a fridge compared to Tahiti!

The main things that have struck me about the Polynesians is the (obvious) similarity in language with the Maoris; Te, Vaka, Fare, Fenua, Tiki etc – but also the striking difference in personality and social culture between the Maoris and their northern cousins. The Tahitian people are so friendly and open. Their greeting is literally a huge smile and their laughter is magnetic. Their music is melodic and uplifting and they have colourful shapes and vibrancy in their art.

Contrast this with the Maoris’ aggressive battle-challenge ‘greeting’, their grunting lack of any musical expression, their monochrome narrow art and the all pervading violence of their culture.

In my view, it’s no wonder the ordinary Maoris took so readily to European culture; it freed them from tribal slavery and offered them the opportunity to make something of their lives as well as contributing to a civilised society. Well, that was a shortlived dream wasn’t it? Within ten years our whole country will have been taken over by the violent, ignorant, grunting culture that failed its people so tragically for hundreds of years in the Shaky Isles.

But the biggest tragedy is that ordinary New Zealanders are participating so enthusiastically in the destruction of our country. This is something which I simply cannot understand. What drives a country to literally commit suicide like this?

          • I’ve noticed the same contrast in my travels around the Pacific Islands. The Maoris are a cheerless, carping, greedy lot compared to their island cousins. It’s just one of the reasons I’ve come to dislike Maori culture so much.

            9

            0

            • I didn’t dislike the Maoris until they started telling me I’m an evil racist coloniser who has destroyed their beautiful idyllic ‘culture’. At that point I started to look carefully at the facts and the deeper I looked the more I started to get pissed off with the lies and the bullshit. This has got to fucking STOP, or the former New Zealand will be sliding into a race war before we know what has hit us.

              • I grew up in Northland in the 70s and 80s. There were Maoris everywhere, and they did Maori stuff, and there were honkies everywhere and we did honky stuff. There was plenty of mixing and everybody got along. There were a few hori words in our schoolyard slang, and everybody enjoyed a hangi at the boat club, or a hori singalong down at the pub.

Something has really changed for the worse since then, and I think everybody here knows when, where, and how it all started.

        • TAH,

If you go looking you will find the Rarotongan website that they say (‘Maori’) have been coming to NZ since 500AD. A fact that is borne out in all the early books based on Maori oral history, which have all have digitised.

Maori history talked of the various prior inhabitants, the Moriori, the survivors of who fled from mainland NZ to the Chathams to avoid either being sunday roast or put on the block, the Waitaha, the Rarotongans, Easter Islanders, the pygmies, Chinese, Celts, Peruvians…

  1. In the 3 short years between 2021 and 2024 this Government has given, or will give, $120 Million to the Solomon Islands, but it is not enough for these Beijing hugging dodgy bastards.

Many, many New Zealanders have already given the ultimate donation and sacrifice (their lives) to the Solomon Islands during WW2 and yet I have not heard the ungrateful and greedy Soloman Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare acknowledge that donation, he now wants more. It all seems one way with these Pricks.

Maybe next time this God Botherer Sogavare and close adherent to the Seventh Day Adventist Church has to put up with riots on Malaita Island or in Honiara, the Australian and NZ Governments will happily tell him he to Sod Off, send him the phone number of Beijing’s Police Force and they can deal with their new found friends problems.

    • Part of that article states ‘But he insisted his country would need all the help it could get to deliver on its main priority for this year which is to deliver the Pacific Games in Honiara in November.’
So he is relying on donations so he can host a sporting event… nothing like prioritising your budget!
Sounds similar to NZ where we take out loans to then donate money to other countries.

    • Traditionally- lets go with some tradition here – NZ has supported and engaged with the polynesian people.
Australia has dealt with the melanesian people and has focus north like Indonesia.
That worked for a long time.
Fiji is crossover with NZ and AU having engagement plus Fiji is the one sizeable place in the local Pacific.

Can we just get back to that ?

It is not like the yanks have any interest in the Pacific; except for war bases to fight their continuous wars . Leave them American Samoa, Guam, and Hawaii where they invaded in 1893. No Treaty there chaps.

Oh, and Tell the fecking maori how lucky they are.
Break out the Fred Dagg song.
While the war mongering yanks were slaughtering native americans in their own homes by the thousand, the Maori male had ‘the vote’, right to legislation, and protection under the crown.
Voting rights more than half a century before ‘merican woman.

  2. Our hospital system is in third or fourth world status, our education system and crime is in third or fourth world status, as New Zealanders we have managed to surpass third world status these days. I have no idea where this will end, but it won’t be good for us, the money given to other countries is so shocking to me, we should be looking after NZ situations ourselves. With all the money given to other countries and Maori we could fix the health situation, but education, and crime I don’t think with todays thinking of the parliamentarians and people who are liarborites, green party, national and act and maori party I have no idea if it will ever come right. We seem to be done for.

What’s needed is an uplift for everyone.

Over 30 Norwegian billionaires and multimillionaires fled Norway in 2022, says a survey by the Norwegian newspaper. This was higher than the total number of extremely wealthy people who had departed the nation in the previous 13 years, it added.
Due to the increase in the wealth tax in November, even more extremely wealthy people are anticipated to depart this year, costing the government tens of millions in lost tax revenue.

  6. Gambling and the desire to win money instead of working for it has long held an attraction for millions of people.

Do ordinary people even sit down and think about how their lives would change if they suddenly came into a lot of money?

    – If you have an addiction, a major win will be the end of you.
    – Would you want other people to know about your win?
    – Can you trust your spouse and family to keep a secret?
    – How will your friends and extended family (especially whanau) treat you once they know of your win?
    – How many years do you expect your wealth to last?

I really don’t think people consider these things.

Your thoughts? Have you even known someone who won a lot of money? Was the outcome good for them?

  8. God was missing for six days. Eventually, Michael, the archangel found him… resting on the seventh day.
He inquired, “Where have you been?”
God smiled deeply and proudly pointed downwards through the clouds, “Look, Michael. Look what I’ve made.”
Archangel Michael looked puzzled, and said, “What is it?”
“It’s a planet,” replied God, “and I’ve put life on it.. I’m going to call it Earth and it’s going to be a place to test Balance.”
“Balance?” Inquired Michael, “I’m still confused.”
God explained, pointing to different parts of the earth. “For example, northern Europe will be a place of great opportunity and wealth, while southern Europe is going to be poor. Over here I’ve placed a continent of white people, and over there is a continent of black people. Balance in all things.”
God continued pointing to different countries “This one will be extremely hot, while this one will be very cold and covered in ice.”
The Archangel, impressed by God’s work, then pointed to a land area and said, “What’s that one?”
“That’s Washington State, one of the most glorious places on earth. There are beautiful mountains, rivers and streams, lakes, forests, hills, and plains. The people from Washington State are going to be handsome, modest, intelligent, and humorous, and they are going to travel the world. They will be extremely sociable, hardworking, high achieving, carriers of peace and producers of software.”
Michael gasped in wonder and admiration, but then asked, “But what about balance, God? You said there would be balance.”
God smiled, “There’s another Washington .. Wait till you see the idiots I put there”.

Here is the offending (!!) advert…. (Does not show but is What is a Woman promoted by Family First)

But the NZ Herald did everything they could to block and delay the advertisement, and then at the very last minute, Stuff (Dom Post and Christchurch Press) and the Otago Daily Times pulled the advertisements after approving them.

We believe that this was as a result of communications between the publications up to the CEO level. It should concern all of us that newspaper editors are now banding together to censor advertisements that they disagree with. Where does this place their coverage of the political debate leading up to the General Election? What else are they censoring?

And the fact that they are working together is disturbing. Has the government funding of these media outlets spelt the end of independent civil discourse on controversial social issues? It appears so.

    https://www.1news.co.nz/2023/07/19/new-ram-raid-offence-to-hold-10-year-maximum-sentence-hipkins/
The Government will create a new ram-raiding criminal offence with a maximum 10-year jail term, the PM has announced, as he continues an anti-crime policy blitz.

Another change announced today will also enable 12 and 13 year olds who have committed ram-raids to be charged in Youth Court.

Hipkins said the Government was keen to deal with “repeat child offenders” whilst previously announced interventions are “working for most kids”.

“But I’ve reached the conclusion that these interventions on their own are not enough to break the cycle of offending for a small, hard-core cohort of young offenders, and that stronger deterrence and consequences are required,” he said.

    • Nope won’t work. Most of them are Māori and will not be sent down that path.

The way to fix this is to restore families. We can start with housing. You can’t exclude people from society and expect them to have community values.

More law is not what’s needed.

      7

      1

      • Kea have you ever seen the destruction some of these families bring to rental houses? It is unbelievable there are no community values at all and the disruption to neighbourhoods is so upsetting to the neighbours. Most are too frightened to leave their homes for fear of what they will return to. The lawlessness is incredible the drug deals going on, the holes bashed in the walls, all furniture left outside along with disgusting bags of refuse including filthy excrement. These people are so repellant that not one would want to rent a home to them. It is no wonder they can only rent from very lax landlords. They pretty much get what they deserve, sorry but it is very true. And I have no idea what the answer is to the problem.

He said that most who turn up to his meetings are there because they have read the little booklet they are spreading around, so he is asking for volunteers to put the booklet in letterboxes. You can go onto their website and register you interest in helping out.
This is where they are using tech. well to record where distribution has and has not been made.

I asked him his view on the various party’s stance on the issue ( that bit of his presentation was cut out at our meeting due to time constraints). We all know Labour’s position but he says National is the one at the back of the pack in the race. He thinks ACT have some very good thinking but do not go far enough. He said he thinks National will take a big hit at the election and ACT may get over 20%.. He clearly has no time for National on the issue.

  18. “A person has died after being hit by a truck on Auckland’s Southern Motorway in the early hours of Wednesday. Police said the crash hapopened at 3:35am, just south of the Alfriston Rd overbridge. The pedestrian has died at the scene,” a police spokesperson said.”

I didn’t know it was legal to be a pedestrian on a motorway. Why do these kinds of accidents tend to happen in South Auckland?

Drugs? Breakdown? Suicide? Fleeing from the scene of something?

    • In New Zealand these figures & data do not come up for further discussion

      July 18, 2023
….. Forget all the high-sounding moral coercion, fear mongering, obscure scientific jargon and PR hype designed to manipulate us.
      It’s dangerous.
Instead, record vax status on death certificates and compare the death rate of the unvaccinated to the vaccinated.
Governments and medical authorities have done the opposite. They have failed to publish this data.
Now why would they do that? By hiding information, are they protecting democracy or undermining it?
Are they using or misusing science? Are they serving the public or deceiving them? …..

      https://hatchardreport.com/unreliable-narrators-strike-again-rnz-on-the-attack/

Posted before but slides in well here.

July 15, 2023 … On May 12, 2023, we took a snapshot of New Zealand excess deaths from the Human Mortality Database (on the left hand side).
Today we took a snapshot of the same data which miraculously has been altered to the extent that it is almost unrecognisable. ….

  19. Labour is using smoke and mirrors by promising to raise the penalties for ram raids. It is extremely rare maximum penalties are applied.

For example, the maximum penalty for dealing meth is life. Same as murder. Look how well that’s working and how often the maximum is applied.

I’m ok with a tougher approach but it’s not nearly enough by itself. Ardern divided the country and told the ram raiders society is unfair and they are victims. Because of their skin colour.

  20. Have any of you noticed how much material is being shared around the major news websites? RNZ, NewstalkZB, Stuff and Newshub all seem to post each other’s articles. And that’s the stuff that isn’t just cribbed from offshore sources. I’m picking this is because their actual resources are all being pared away as they go down the legacy media gurgler.

Can’t happen soon enough. Little Toxic Tova might be getting yet another redundancy notice in the near future.

  21. Bread and circuses.

Football World Cup: FIFA president Gianni Infantino’s plea to Kiwi sports fans to buy tickets

“We hope this will be the most-attended women’s sports event. It’s already reaching record figures.”

The Football Ferns winning games would be one surefire antidote for NZ malaise, although they are in a difficult pool, with former champions Norway, the Philippines and Switzerland.

The NZ women have had a lacklustre build-up to the World Cup, with just one win in nine warm-up matches this year.

They’ll raise the curtain on the competition with Thursday’s clash against Norway at Eden Park, which they’ll enter as firm underdogs.

  22. Special.

A teacher who stole nearly $20,000 by sending fake invoices to customers has escaped conviction and been allowed to keep her teaching licence.

According to a recently published decision by the NZ Teachers Disciplinary Tribunal, Taemanuolo Faae-Semeatu – also known as Aiono Manu Fa’aea– issued fake invoices as part of a long-running scheme to pocket payments which would otherwise have gone to her employer.

  23. Special K does a superb job here. He manages to rattle off some really long answers, and even works in “Wicked Wings” from KFC on two occasions. The fact that none of his answers really had anything to do with any of the questions, or that they were completely unintelligible didn’t even make him skip a beat. He has certainly earned his position of #2 in the Labour Party.
I especially liked the way he squeezed in “if you’ll excuse the pun” – I’ve only ever heard that used before when there was a pun.

  24. FFS Chippy is approaching peak panic and peak clown world at the same time ” Hipkins promises 10 year sentences for ram raiders” if anyone believes that they’ll believe that Helen Clarke said ” I saw a real cock back on the 60s and I liked it” 🤣🤣

  25. Hahahahahahaha!

I just heard Sue Bradford, who is pissed off at Chippie for ruling out a wealth tax, say that this country continues to lurch further and further to the right, no matter which area of policy you look at.

Now, I have to say that I have some grudging respect for Sue Bradford, but clearly she’s off somewhere far, far to the left of Chairman Mao.

    • Sue Bradford would thrash Mao Zedong nightly for not being communist enough, if she could !!

That is one hateful, nasty bitch.
And Susie was not anarchist and nihilist enough to be chickie co-leader of the Greens.
They went for Material Turei, the bene fraudster, instead.

I recall seeing Christine Rankin talking circa 2010 about Bradford .
Bradford pushed through the ‘no smacking kids’ thingy.
Rankin was able to talk to Bradford’s sheer approach to violence when Rankin and staff were locked in the Social Welfare office in 1999 with Bradford and crazies outside throwing trashcans at the windows and trying to smash their way in.

      Bradford. A life poorly lived.

  26. Kate Hawkesby had piece on Breaking Views titled “I reckon Chris Luxon is a good operator hehind the scenes”. In other words he is a good manager.
One of the comments said , but this time we need a good leader, someone who is out front doing the good work. I agree with the sentiment of the comment but it got me thinking of who was the last leader we had who would fit the bill to achieve what is necessary for NZ now.
Key\English were quite a good combo but they did not make radical positive changes. I think the only politician we have in the last 50 years that meets the criteria was Roger Douglas (and he was not PM), whether you agree with what he did or not.
Unfortunately I do not see anyone in Parliament ready to meet the challenge.
The common thing with Douglas and Key was they acted in combo —Key with English and Douglas with Lange. So is that the “secret” –you need a strong combination and not just a good strong leader.
    I am not sure.

  28. Theyre actually quite tasty and a very under rated under utilliised food source but the nazis are trying to disuade people from sourcing cheap food and instead prop up supermarket profits…

Rabbit and hare are also superb eating, my daughter cooked up a rabbit dish a couple of weeks ago and you couldve sworn it was just chicken. We had smoked rabbit the next day aswell and it too was beautiful eating.

    • countdown can do that when they account for all the imported garbage.
Next they will be running mincing adverts for the perverts and others.
Just do their job as grocers, get rid of the useless PR overheads and bring down the price of what they sell.

But they won’t because they know most of their shoppers and staff bozo’s.
I won’t bore you with the discussion tonight about paper bags, net bags etc locally. Honestly some of these people are thick. It’s all it can be. Just plain fucking brainless. One even told me, claiming that she worked a checkout, that the checkout ladies always sanitize the scales after each customer. Really, I asked whether she thought that all her customers were so stupid as to believe that. Morons I tell ya bloody morons.

      And they let them vote.

      • Vikey dont forget the 400mil rebrand back to woolies… thatll keep prices down and slash emissions//

We stopped going to countdown through covid craziness, they were the biggest covid nazis in gore even with mask exemptions etc their door goons made life hell and then they were queer about cash at checkout time. Wifey left a massive trolley full at the checkout and told them to shove it up their arse and hasnt been back, new world had no questions asked if you didnt wear a mask and werent fussed if you paid cash or card.
