  1. “We’ve partnered with mana whenua to ensure that Māori cultural values and perspectives are recognised and integrated into the project. This partnership will continue throughout the project’s development and delivery” says Mr Mutton.”

This is absolute bullshit to lower the speed limits on State Highway 10. Bugger me, I did not realise the Natives had “Cultural Values” in their Highway Planning, in pre European times, which now, after all this time, must be finely tuned.

Civil Servants are truly fucked in the head if they expect the public of this country to believe this absolute load of Tripe and Bollocks.

      • Lizzie, she is a damp, wet day here is the darkest King Country. Pothole Paradise, a place where no one from Whuck A Cartyre has ever ventured.

One good thing however, I am on the right side of the grass and looking forward to making some Jobsworth’s day miserable. That will be Tuesday’s mission.

Not true. The public has bought into this racist bullshit lock stock and barrel. Maybe 10 to 15% of New Zealanders see it for what it is, but the VAST majority either support it, or are too lazy to get off their arses and even raise a voice in opposition.

  4. A little boy got on the bus, sat next to a man reading a book, and noticed he had his collar on backwards .
The little boy asked why he wore his collar backwards .
    The man, who was a priest, said, ” I am a Father . .”
The little boy replied, “My Daddy doesn’t wear his collar like that.”
The priest looked up from his book and answered, “I am the Father of many .
The boy said, “My Dad has 4 boys, 4 girls and two grandchildren and he doesn’t wear his collar that way!”
The priest, getting impatient, said . “I am the Father of hundreds”, and went back to reading his book.
The little boy sat quietly thinking for a while, then leaned over and said, “Maybe you should wear a condom, and put your pants on backwards instead of your collar.”

    • COLFO spokesperson Hugh Devereux-Mack says the Government cannot spend hundreds of millions of dollars on an Authority and registry but dismiss its failures as inconsequential.

All that money, and they didn’t put in a simple back end so that email went out to each individual with no other recipients on the TO: or CC: line. And no-one in the organisation, its system planners, system designers, IT people or software people thought to mention it. If I was doing the system we could have done it for an extra $20k and taken the rest of the month off.

      Hundreds of millions?

They don’t just need resignations, they need an expert auditor in there uncover the fraud and embezzlement. Where did all the hundreds of millions go?

Every time I see, hear of, or inspect systems that are crap and/or charged for like a wounded bull, I always remember that line out of “Back to the Future”.

Marty: Doc, you don’t just walk into a store and buy plutonium! Did you rip that off?

Doc Brown: [waving arms] Of course! From a group of Libyan nationalists. They wanted me to build them a bomb, so I took their plutonium and in turn gave them a shoddy bomb casing full of used pinball machine parts!

They wanted me to build them a bomb secure data and email system, so I took their plutonium millions and in turn gave them a shoddy bomb casing cheap computers loaded with Office 365 full of used pinball machine parts! and a cheap freeware database with a fancy front end that two hours to build.

They are miles from anywhere, there’s no-one around, the rain is pouring down and the wind is howling. They huddle together on the beach, wet, cold, miserable and exhausted. Eventually Wolfgang gets up and says, “Sehr gut my friends, I shall for rocks and branches looking go and for us a shelter to construct.” Then Thierry stands and says, “Eh bien mes amis, I will search some fruits and some berries and maybe we can eat somesing.”
They both look down expectantly at Bob who leans back on his elbows and says, “You two can do what you like but I’m not working in these conditions.”

Oamaru Hospital’s emergency department closed its doors to patients for 15 hours due to a shortage of doctors.

In a statement, Waitaki Health restricted inpatient access from 5pm yesterday.

“Patients requiring an admission will be transferred to Dunedin Hospital during this time,” Waitaki Health said.

When Prime Minister Chris Hipkins was questioned about the ED closure this morning, he told Breakfast more doctors were needed.

“We also need to look at how we can take pressure off our emergency departments,” Hipkins said.

Anyone seeing green shoots in the latest housing figures has probably been smoking them

🔥The latest data from property website Realestate.co.nz suggests the housing market fell into a hole in July.
The total amount of stock available for sale on the website climbed to an eight year high for the time of year, even though new listings for the month slumped to a record low.
So it was probably no surprise that the average asking price also took a tumble.🔥

  10. Oxford University researchers have discovered the densest element yet known to science.
The new element, Governmentium (symbol=Gv), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312.
These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called pillocks.
Since Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert. However, it can be detected, because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact.
A tiny amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second, to take from 4 days to 4 years to complete.
Governmentium has a normal half-life of 3 to 6 years.
It does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganisation in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places.
In fact, Governmentium’s mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganisation will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes.
This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to believe that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration.
This hypothetical quantity is referred to as a critical morass.
When catalysed with money, Governmentium becomes Administratium (symbol=Ad), an element that radiates just as much energy as Governmentium, since it has half as many pillocks but twice as many morons.

I do not know how they measure it , in the same way I don’t know how they measure the number of listeners for RNZ. But does anyone know how many do listen to RNZ? My guess it would not be many more if they have larger number.
The Platform and RCR must be putting a big dent in the listener figures for quite a few radio stations.

After three hours of being trapped, emergency services arrived and a door was taken out of the cabin to allow a hoist to lift him out.

The insider told The Sun: “The passenger was mortified. It’s astonishing because the seats are the most spacious available.

  18. Released prisoner hits Rebel Sport three times, takes cars, burgles and splashes on stolen credit cards

A woman on a 7-month crime spree came face-to-face with a home owner’s daughter after jumping out the window to avoid being caught.

Still holding the stolen goods, she told the girl, “Sorry, it’s for me and my boyfriend” before running off down the street.

The incident was just one out of 25 that resulted in Roma Lady Te Aho being jailed for three years – a sentence she’s now successfully appealed.

Te Aho committed 25 offences during her crime spree – including shoplifting, burglary, using other people’s credit cards, stealing cars and hitting a Rebel Sport outlet three times.

    • No it’s a man’s fault:

“ The High Court judgment listed information about Te Aho’s background which had been taken into account in for sentencing her.

Justice Radich said Te Aho came from an unstable family background involving hardship and drug use, with an “emotionally abusive” gang member for a father.

“She self-reports having ‘lived poverty’ and needing to offend to survive,” Justice Radich said.

“Her mother left her father because of his drug use. Her father introduced Ms Te Aho to methamphetamine at around the age of 13,” he said

“Her most traumatic period was, she said, with her ex-partner, who was ‘patched with the Mongrel Mob, violent, unfaithful, an extreme manipulator and the most horrible, mentally abusive person you could ever meet’.

“She said that this emotional abuse would make her turn to drugs and offend.”

    • It’s bullshit.

The Nuremberg Code is not law in any country in the world. It was a fabricated law applied retrospectively to persecute and murder Germans. It has never been used since.

As soon as you hear someone mention it you know your dealing with a nut job.

      4

      8

      • You might be right from the point of view of the Code not being specifically mentioned in the law, but I think
Article 118b in the Swiss Constitution does cover the intent of the Nuremberg Code.

“Art. 118b80 Research on human beings
1 The Confederation shall legislate on research on human beings where this is required in order to protect their dignity and privacy. In doing so, it shall preserve the freedom to conduct research and shall take account of the importance of research to health and society.

2 The Confederation shall adhere to the following principles in relation to biological and medical research involving human beings:

        a.
It is a requirement for any research project that the participants or their legal representatives have given their informed consent. The law may provide for exceptions. A refusal is binding in every case.
        b.
The risks and stress for the participants must not be disproportionate to the benefits of the research project.
        c.
A research project involving persons lacking the capacity to consent may be conducted only if findings of equal value cannot be obtained from research involving persons who have the capacity to consent. If the research project is not expected to bring any immediate benefit to the persons lacking the capacity to consent, the risks and stress must be minimal.
        d.
An independent assessment of the research project must have determined that the safety of the participants is guaranteed. “

        • Yep it’s not the Nuremberg Code.

The Code has not been officially accepted as law by any nation or as official ethics guidelines by any association. In fact, the Code’s reference to Hippocratic duty to the individual patient and the need to provide information was not initially favored by the American Medical Association.[14] Katz observes that the Western world initially dismissed the Nuremberg Code as a “code for barbarians, but unnecessary (or superfluous) for ordinary physicians.”

    https://taxswitch.nz/

A land value tax at 0.75% of the value of urban residential land, paid annually.

Commercial, rural, conservation and Māori land would be excluded.
Superannuants could opt to defer payment until there is a change in ownership of the property.
The tax switch is estimated to raise approximately $7 billion p.a. – making our three-part plan fiscally neutral.
We recognise that a Land Value Tax is a big policy change for a culture and economy based on home ownership. But it’s the right thing to do. Our dysfunctional housing market is slowly separating our country into have & have not’s and holding back our economic potential. We owe it to the generations of Kiwis who come after us, to change it now.

    • She told the cops that she was jealous of the attention her husband lavished on the kids & felt alienated. She’s a nasty bit of work who deliberately took the lives of three little girls who depended on her.

But the trial has nothing to do with facts. At the end of the day there are eight women on the jury who will ignore reality & judge her actions on feelz.

  29. Election 2023: National leaves door open to China funding new New Zealand roads

    Consequences.
Joining China’s vast Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) was an “atrocious” decision, Italy’s defence minister has said, and the issue was how to leave it without damaging ties with Beijing.

  30. Can’t wait to watch Hipkins back himself out of this one.

“The average New Zealand household would only be $5.63 better off each week if GST was removed from fruit and vegetables while wealthier households would have much more to gain, a Herald analysis shows.

A tax expert says removing GST from fresh fruit and vegetables could only end up benefiting the highest-earning New Zealanders and corporate companies, rather than those that need it most.”

    • Inside of three months Foodstuffs & Woolworths will have hiked their markups on fresh fruit & veges to return prices to present levels anyway. It’s a volatile & seasonal market at any time so normal fluctuations will give them cover.

There was a time when markups were traditional eg 100% on fruit & veg. 25% on most grocery items, 50% on hardware etc. Nowadays with only two big players left in the market it’s a case of charge whatever the dozy housewives will pay while running side circuses on loyalty cards & paper bags vs plastic.

  31. “Cost sharing”. Taxpayer and ratepayers money being lined up for HB buyout.

Anger builds over Government’s secret offer to share cost of buying out cyclone-damaged Hawke’s Bay houses

“People are feeling gutted, people are feeling quite high levels of despair. People are giving up.” Credits: Newshub

Frustrations are spilling over in Hawke’s Bay as the Government’s offer to share the cost of buying out cyclone-damaged houses remains shrouded in secrecy.

Councils aren’t allowed to say what the offer is until it’s been unanimously agreed upon by all five of them.

    • I don’t know what is going on wg but there are many pissed off people.
I don’t trust the government and the involvement of Finlayson in negotiations is a real worry.
If they buy out properties I would say iwi are in the background hoping to grab good land from the crown.
It is interesting that it is often people who do not work their land that want out.
They don’t have the connection , the affinity with the land.
There is immense dissatisfaction with the land categorisation that has been used. Essentially it is based on height above sea level.
Personally I think it is the wrong approach.
Many issues and no rational attempt to analyse.

  32. A former head boy and promising rugby player has been sentenced to home detention for his role as a drug runner for the Comancheros.

Lemeki Namoa felt pressure to be the “golden boy” and fell into camaraderie with some gang members when his semi-professional rugby contract wasn’t renewed, the court heard.

  33. Two Guys in their Mid-Twenties, are sitting at a Bar having a Beer.
One of the guys says to his buddy, “Man, you really look tired.”
    His Buddy says,
“Dude, I’m exhausted. My Girlfriend wants Sex all the time, three, four, even six times a night, every night.
She wakes me up at all hours. I just don’t know what to do”..???
A fellow about 70, sitting a couple of stools down overheard the conversation.
He looked over at the two young Men and with the Wisdom of Years says…
“Marry Her. That’ll put a Stop to all that Nonsense”…! 😂

Jack got high and touched Jill’s thigh and said “I know you wanna.”

Jill said yes, took off her dress and they had some fun.

But silly Jill forgot her pills and now they have a son.
