    • And then what?

Chris [insert surname] is in charge.
All the socialism, WFF, WEF rulez, low productividy, climate horseshit will remain.

If it is chrome dome chris then the misguided altruism will accelerate using our taxpayers money.
Just as notional skite about settling way more te tiriti deals than liebour -using taxpayers’ money- they will accelerate socialism with more WFF, no focus on productividy.

      1990s notional killed productivity with passing RMA, allowing leaky homes and other moves;
johnny keys lot 2008 to 2016/7 crippled auckland where one third of the population live,
then dumped hundreds of thousands of uber drivers, liquor store workers, students, gas station attendants into the city and pretended that was productividy

The only area bedder will be lorna order.
I doubt notional will ever again be a party for farmers.
there will be no tax cuits -cant afford it with the debt mountain of the last 3.5 years -and a mere one off tax bracket adjustment.
The 39% envy INC tax will remain as will the 39% Trusts tax.
Plus fiddly new taxes as possible, only possible, band aids on a big wound.

There will be more alignment with globalist shit just as the last j keys mob aligned NZ with UNDRIP and paris accord.
WEF, Bilderberg, WHO ,CDC and the like will rule these shores while the chrome dome bays to his god and acts on orders.

It won’t be Hobsons Pledge, it will be Hobsons choice.on 14 Oct.
And the Teal trifecta of chrome dome, nicky Willy and get-boosted jaw-boning bishop will be like no other notional pardy you would recognise.
Their decline began with socialist bolger.

Best wishes with your dreams and aspirations.
      Be Kind.

  1. Good morning all you freedom lovers, I am offended by all the people being offended. They are looking for something they can moan about. It is a never ending moan fest at the moment. They should have better things to do. I am sure if bombs were raining down on us they would get over their offence and have something more to worry about. .
Have a good day out there people and be careful you never know…….Something else to be offended over the crime??? Oh and I took a look at the moon last night????? Different from other nights when the moon was shining??? nope, its all a make believe bullshit of scientists who need something to go on about and get some money.

    • Morning Lizzie.
Getting people to come to work 5 days a week is a constant battle. the reason is that wages now provide a very comfortable living for most desire what the press tell you, especially where there is more than one income in a house.
Average wage is now $60k+ so if you have a couple of those in a house or more then that house is very well off even with the o called high rents.
We the taxpayer pay for so much now that these people are addicted to hand outs on top of their already good incomes.
The truth is that few save much and while I don’ personally like super scheme for their down steam effects on commerce and values the Aussies now take 15% of their wages for super. So they have to save to beat their super fund who over value every company and property cause they (the suoper funds), have to spend the money on something.

More and more I see young people with no idea of what they want to do, (fodder for universities, mostly with disaterous long-term borrowing), and fewer and fewer have goals in life.
Kids go to school all enthusiastic at 5 and most come out the other end beaten up.

In other words life has become too easy for many.
Its not until reality bites and they decide they need to get married need a house and have kids to support that they begin to wake up.
They are inspired by travel and drinking and cars and not by getting their life organized, not by think children at the age they should but of when I can be bothered and then the taxpayer funds all their IVF. That should be stopped and they should be told if you want that pay for it.

Thats just one example of girls being told that can do anything but its a crock of shit for many.

Still I have a lot of young ones aroundme and I try keep them grounded.

      • “when the young are to be silent before their elders; how they are to show respect to them by standing and making them sit; what honour is due to parents; what garments or shoes are to be worn; the mode of dressing the hair; deportment and manners in general.

And though only the best of them will be appointed by their predecessors, still they will be unworthy to hold their fathers’ places, and when they come into power as guardians, they will soon be found to fall in taking care of us, the Muses, first by under-valuing music; which neglect will soon extend to gymnastic; and hence the young men of your State will be less cultivated.”

      • ….Kids go to school all enthusiastic at 5 and most come out the other end beaten up. …

Use to be the a maori or a white bully at school, that beat you up, but in experiencing that, one way or another one learnt some very essential life lessons, in your own time.

The teachers now enhance the bullying practices & enforce their own forms in maori culture, art, as colonialism, biased unconscious racism-anti-cultures, with privilege guilt.

Then burn into them every day the dangers when the sun shines, & the ever dangerous splatter of rain that could launch Noah’s ark, with rising sea levels.

The health gauntlet, of pandemics, & the perfect vaxxes, where whispers abound of the damage that may have been done. Should you believe more in one or the other ???

The university lecturers, professors who have the ability to belittle & downgrade if you do not comply, or press you to be in the same mold, in the belief, as you can see that reward of a good salary, with all the perks, bonus’s etc..

With such a good income, why save, why make yourself go short on the good things in life, in the here in now.
The philosophies & understanding has been turned on its head, with “You Go Girl” & you to can at least in part, or for real, become a real man, or is it a real woman, for real // //

      • It is the Maslow’s hierarchy of needs.

The lower levels require great effort to overcome.
The top echelons are more ethereal and therefore harder to define.
Especially if you have not struggled through the lower ranks.

Goal setting is more difficult if you have not already worked hard and achieved some goals.
Skool now is too soft. No homework; didnt attend- no problem; no exams as it makes you feelz bad; vomit inducing indoctrination with fake history, social studies, and race baiting from ‘teachers’ .
It is a subset of current society- pretending to ‘ be kind’ while creating division and conflict plus disorientation.
This has been the cultural marxism that permeated the western world in last 30 to 40 years.

There are a lot more ‘dog catchers’ around to hook you in like finance companies; causes like BLM, and universities offering junk wallpaper.
Support networks have been reduced and replaced with social media controlled by globalists. Joining groups like chess club, tennis club, footy club, used to take effort.
Now you can subscribe to a group or thread and enter without commitment.
Life has less investment and less tangible rewards

    • A childhood friend of mine dropped dead three days ago from a sudden and very unexpected seizure. 52 years old, 3 kiddies 13 and under (he was a late starter), apparently in fit fighting health, gloriously happy, everything to live for. A massive shock to say the least. It puts a lot of things in perspective, and I say fuck all these grifters and moaners who seem intent on being miserable, blaming everybody else for their fucked up lives. I’d cheerfully trade any number of the bastards for my buddy right now.

        • Thanks Lizzie, I appreciate the kind words. It finally hit me yesterday after a couple of days of shock and trying to process it all. I suddenly had a quiet little breakdown and had leave work and go home.

Before anybody asks, he wasn’t vaxxed. He was very resolute about that, and a braver man than me. We’re all still waiting for the autopsy results, but the indications are an undiagnosed tumour.

Fifty years a friend, Lizzy, that doesn’t come along every day.

      • Sudden deaths are often harder to work through. When someone is slowly aging and slipping away, one starts to mentally prepare for it. My dad fell and broke his neck. Here today, gone tomorrow. Over three years ago, and it still aches.

  2. One day a country pastor decided to close the church on a Sunday to go hunting. He puts a sign on the front door saying “gone hunting. See you next Sunday” he goes to the forest and gets nothing. Just as he’s about to leave he sees a big grizzly bear. He says “Lord help me get this bear” he shoots and misses ticking the bear off and causing it to o chase the pastor. Finally out of breath the pastor yells “Lord I’m sorry for skipping Church make this bear a Christian.” The bear stops gets on it’s knees and says “Dear Lord thank you for this meal I’m about to eat

  4. New Western Bay of Plenty police Retail Crime Unit arrests dozens of prolific thieves

A new specialist police squad is targeting the worst retail thieves – and has prosecuted more than 50 in three weeks.

The Retail Crime Unit is zeroing in on the most prolific retail crime offenders in the Western Bay of Plenty. It has already laid more than 400 charges and resulted in offenders going to prison.

Some offenders were stealing goods to supply the black market.

The full-time team, comprising a sergeant and five constables, is the first of its kind in the Western Bay and was put together after more than 5000 offences were reported to police last year.
    https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/new-western-bay-of-plenty-police-retail-crime-unit-arrests-dozens-of-prolific-thieves/D6VRUDXASFHHRL2BRHRRQXDTLQ/

Merritt said the unit had charged 53 people aged over 18 and filed a total of 423 charges. Most offenders were locals.

He said of the 423 charges, one offender accounted for 41 dishonesty offences.

Those arrested had been charged with theft offences at retail outlets including shops, supermarkets, large pharmacies, service stations and chain clothing stores.

YUeah, at last. The big issue is what the courts do.ain’t it.

  5. Christchurch continues with its sexual behavoir.
Christchurch Kāinga Ora resident had sex in full view of high school students, neighbour decries ‘hideous’ behaviour

A Kāinga Ora resident has been accused of “depraved” and “hideous” behaviour after he had sex in his backyard, in full view of a group of high schoolers next door.

The incident is the latest in a series of the man’s alleged anti-social behaviour at the Christchurch property.

Kāinga Ora’s regional director for Canterbury, Liz Krasue, said they were aware of a situation “in the private, fenced backyard of one our … properties … observed by a group of teenagers … next door”.

  7. Another one of the simps “ rape victims “

A coroner’s finding, made public on Friday, reveals the sales and marketing professional – remembered as a “dancing queen” and “the life of the party” – accidentally overdosed on alcohol, MDMA (also known as ecstasy), cocaine and a synthetic cathinone that mimics the effects of MDMA, known as 3-Methylmethcathinone.

  8. From the RCR team

” London-Based Blogger Cranmer Outed as Philip Crump, Ex-Lawyer

Pseudonymous blogger Thomas Cranmer has been revealed as former lawyer Philip Crump.

Through his blog, Crump, who is based in London, challenges the New Zealand government on policy issues and most recently revealed that the Government had paid media outlets for a series of climate stories and interviews. Now that they’ve doxxed him, what else can they do? ”

This is interesting. This guy comes out with some really revealing information but how does he get the info based in London? Someone has to be helping him by “leaking” the detail.
More to come on this I think or perhaps preferably no more and he continues on his great work.

  9. They keep rubbing our faces in it.

Politicians are likely to get a significant pay rise after the election.

What they are paid has been frozen for the past six years. But a revision of their pay is required, by law, to begin within three months of the “return of the writ” – that’s the confirmation of the outcome of the election.

The last day for the return of the writ is November 7.

Politicians are currently paid the same as they were in July, 2017.

The prime minister gets $471,049 a year, the deputy prime minister $334,734, ministers within cabinet $296,007 and ministers outside cabinet $249,839.

He was jumped by six members of a family ( non gang related) and near beaten to death. He lost an eye. If that can happen to a mobster, you bet it can happen to you. • I did not down tick, as MH is so good in not continuing his old habit of Party voting National

However what is the point of 2 ticks ? ?

Though the odds are low, I have an electorate “Choice” for a new Minister of Police, that will wind up the Judiciary system.
Justice will be swift, like removing a pinky digit at the first joint, just for starters.
Note that is before the police even put the handcuffs on the offender.
That activates the police to be more timely in their arrival.

To vote for that Champion of Instant Justice, will raise some fears in Luxon & Seymour, to get things sorted, or else their “pinky” should also go into a meat grinder.

              • As you should note, I am very ok that you have finally shifted to ACT.
I could not ask for more.

The 2nd tick will be finally weighed up as the pen descends on the to the ballot paper in the voting booth.

I have voted ACT since last Century.

The only exception was the vote in 2017 for Bill English, Tony Ryall & Steven Joyce so as to add to the weighting against Winston Peters.
For all the figuring of that, It did not work, as we saw the coalitional nightmare that ended up in that continuing dreaded freefall.

National has long since moved on.
It was one of the reasons considering DNZ, but the weighting has fallen away.

Whether there will be any further changes?
Avi Yemini with his T shirt, “Kia ora, North Korea” becoming supported by Brian Tamaki’s “Freedom Party”.

Julian Batchelor’s “Stop Co Governance” Big City meet ups in Christchurch, Wellington, Auckland.

The Maori Fresh Water systems are now in place, will they totally oppose & rescind?

Then there is 3-5-10 Waters system.

How far will ACT go with Farm Fresh Water Plans in play NOW?

How far will ACT go with Net Carbon, & now the Farm Emission Plans that is in track NOW?

How far will ACT go with SNA Significant Natural Areas. The ACT party did nothing when it was in coalition!

Now the SASM Significant Areas & Sites for Maori?
Will it be another fat nothing?

Will they be dead against all these things & do what ever takes? or have they got a compromise level.?

So you can see, there are some points, where ACT has jelly knees.
So it is all spiel, but can they carry the weight?

T’s not over over until the fat lady sings, so more will be seen & heard this September & October. for the final weigh up.
I figure the fat lady will amply blow the candle out.
But will she shatter the crystal glass?

Just state the policies, & I will figure whether there is any credibility in what is claimed.
Based on my experience & knowledge.

Just as others can finally see who not to vote for like the 3 above, & more on YSB.
Not so thrilled when I hear of others voting NZFirst, but then many other proven points can be bought to bear about Winston Peters. 🙂

Maybe I am looking for too much, or being too pragmatic.
Still I battle on, and am very pleased that a number of friends, family, & neighbours are very aware of who Not to vote for!

Will that glass ceiling be truly shattered when the Fat Lady sings?
Or just that little crystal glass?

  14. Higher Taxes Approved:

    https://www.1news.co.nz/2023/09/01/waka-kotahi-fee-changes-confirmed-what-does-it-mean-for-you/
Waka Kotahi NZTA is set to introduce a number of price changes to its services from October 1.

It’s part of an effort to help plug a $100 million shortfall, and the Government’s approval of the plan was announced today.

    Changes to rego fees
If you renew your car’s registration online before October 1, you’ll pay an administration fee of $4.10.

If you renew it online after October 1, the administration fee will be $8.66.

The administration fee for renewals through agents or by mail will also increase.

By mail, it’ll rise from $2.99 to $14.17; by agent, it’ll rise from $7.20 to $11.99; and by industry agent, it’ll rise from $2.79 to $7.95.

    Changes to licence fees
Fees for re-sitting driver’s licence tests are to be scrapped.

Fees for those sitting their learner licence will rise slightly from the current price of $93.90 to $96.10, while those aiming for a restricted licence will have to pay $167.50, an increase of just over $30 from $134.80.

    • WG, try doing that percentage increase if you were a private business and not one with exclusive rights like NZTA.

If this Government had not given so much money to Maori, like they have where I live, to take 3 years to build a new Marae in the middle of absolutely nowhere and paint every Marae in the locality, all on your dime, then Whuckacartyre would not need to bleed the rest of us as would be amply funded by Government.

And if Whuckacartyre had not wasted so much money on unimportant projects then they would have lived within her budget.

Just another reason to send Labour to the dustbin of life on 14th October.

    https://www.1news.co.nz/2023/09/01/man-with-osteoarthritis-in-every-joint-forced-to-leave-rest-home/
Residents of a Hawke’s Bay rest home are struggling to find new homes as the facility plans to cut 22 hospital care beds due to staffing challenges.

It comes as the Aged Care Association paints a dire picture of provider closures despite 13,000 more beds needed by 2030.

“Unless the Government starts to address the chronic underfunding so that we can hire the nurses and build the beds, unfortunately for New Zealanders, this is going to get a lot worse,” interim Aged Care Association chief executive Katherine Rich said.

In the last week, two more Waikato providers have advised the association of plans to close.

The 89-year-old was shocked when he was told he had to move out in three weeks.

“Makes you want to cry to be honest… A kick in the teeth.”

His son Greg Sorensen described the situation as “totally heartless” and “beyond belief”.

BREAKING! NEW Lockdowns and Mask Mandates, Coup in Gabon, Ukraine Soldiers Speak Out | Redacted

The groundwork is being laid for Lockdowns 2.0 and a renewed push for vaccine mandates and mask mandates. If we shine enough light on it we can hopefully we can keep it from happening. We be too late though as many schools are already rolling out mask mandates forcing kids to wear masks during class.

The push for returning mask mandate is not from the CDC or WHO, it’s coming from the White House, local democrat bodies, msm, etc for control of the coming election campaign.

  20. A man who was to stand trial in the High Court for murder is on the run after cutting off his electronic monitoring bracelet.

Hendrix Kahia was due to appear in the High Court at Rotorua on Monday, August 21 to stand trial for the murder of Wiremu Birch at Taupō on October 11, 2013.

However, more than three weeks before his trial, he cut off his bracelet from his bail address in Rotorua and has not been seen since.

  21. I don’t know why people are shocked.

A controversial housing development at Wellington’s Shelly Bay will no longer go ahead and the land there has been sold to famous filmmaker Sir Peter Jackson and his wife Dame Fran Walsh.

The shock announcement was made in a joint statement from the parties involved this afternoon.

The land was previously occupied for 525 days by Mau Whenua – a faction of Taranaki Whānui who disagreed with the sale of the land.

    • BN, actually the only people who were shocked was those at the NZ Herald, no one else was, at this point. They were shocked because Jacko and Fran did not approach the Herald to ask if it was OK with the Cub Reporters at the Herald, if Jacko and his Missus could buy this bit of dirt.

The IWI will also be shocked on Monday lunchtime when they realise that the Government forgot to purchase it and gift it to them.

        • Greenie mayor Tory Whanau will be a huge fan of Peter Jackson, director of Lord of the Rings. Hobbits are perfect for research for how the world should be living in the Green’s utopia: Little underground houses, no roads, no shoes or razors and a local boozer for a knees up. 🙂

        • BN, seems Foster, who Jacko bankrolled ain’t all that happy with his benefactor. Just goes to show, in this case, you can bite the hand that feeds you

As too Pisshead Tory, she seems from what I heard on the old steam radio a minute ago, is very dark on Jacko and Frans idea as she wanted low grade housing with scum inhabitants on the waterfront, which this pork chop is now not going to see.

  22. The Devils playground.

The National Party’s foreign buyers policy, which would allow overseas buyers to purchase property worth over $2 million dollars provided they pay a 15% tax, has caught the eyes of billionaires across the world.

Caleb Paterson of real estate agency Paterson Luxury, says news of the policy reached buyers in offshore markets almost immediately, triggering a surge in calls to the firm.

“There has been pent-up demand from our international clients who have been unable to access New Zealand property for the past six years, and they are highly motivated to seize this potential opportunity.”

It’s worth gold for the Right. But it once again bears witness to the fact NZ is about to REALLY splinter along racial lines.

The fourth accused, Anton Rite, was found by Justice Timothy Brewer today to have played a lesser role, dismissing submissions by his co-accused, Mihingarangi Tynneal Rameka, Daniel Payne, 35, Neha Wiremu Grey, 40, that he was the one who killed Sao Yean during the early hours of March 13, 2020.

    • To be fair the greens calculator thing rekons theyre gunna give me more money then the nats.

I wouldnt take any of this shit seriously anyways, nats are more then likely to get in then claim the countries finances are in worse shape then expected and delay or cancel their big flagship election bribe.

If i were to bet i would say that by the end of nats 1st term theyll be taxing us more and giving us far less then promised, and more then likely raise retirement age aswell.

      • To be fair, a great savings & benefits for you. 🙂
No fossil fuels, no petrol, no diesel, no gas, no coal, you greenie 🙂

Yes I would not be surprized at increased taxes either, & means testing, etc.
No such thing as a “free lunch” to be tossed into the compost, and even a nominal payment, should make some people realize that it is a cost, to make them decide, if it is of value to them.

Everybody loves to blame Ruth Richardson, and dammed if I know why she claimed the meme of “mother of all budgets” and others then used that also as the “Ruthanesia”.

The cupboard was proven to bare then.
Then the point was the morning after the election win, PM Jim Bolger was rang & told the BNZ was as good as bankrupt.

1989:— Deteriorating asset quality and increasing provisions resulted in a loss of $634 million for Bank of New Zealand.
This required a Government rescue package via cash issue

1990:— A second rescue package is announced by the newly appointed National Government due to problems with the Australian Loans book.
In a complex deal both the Government and Fay, Richwhite & Company provide the $720 million cash for the bailout.

        https://www.bnzheritage.co.nz/timeline

Hard-arse Ruth Richardson in balancing the budget, nullified Bolger’s promises & became an auterity budget.
However Ruth also pushed and achieved the “prefu” a statement of government accounts, assets & liabilities, before every election.

We are aware that many other government departments, or more like SOE’s & quango’s etc. have been loaded with debt to hide it from the normal government budget.
But this should fully come to light in the “prefu”, from the official government books, or Not.
Whether Grant Robertson covers & slides this around, & importantly what remains hidden until it comes to light after the election.

With this Labour government having committed government to certain expenditure over a number of years ahead, will prove to be very interesting as in many ways it can not just be stopped.
The academia & media will sweep onto full attack, by omission, covering, & blaming everything in a Ruthanesia fashion.

For fuck sake, who believes the cunt, after he said this in October 2021, then others support Winston saying he was not in power then,
Fuck power will run a muck when he gets it.
How was he welcomed in the walk through the Wellington Protest.? Such short memories, and glib sweet talking as per usual.

If that sweet talking opportunist can do this, to gain over 5% & sit his arse in Parliament to decide who should govern & pull hand brakes on like a ram-raider kid in New Zealand, then we will be fucked.

Probably legit, after all its winston fucking peters we’re talking about. He also claims hepuapua was hidden from him but wasnt their proof putting him in the room when it was commissioned? Think there were other personal ties to its authors from memory, i may be wrong but pretty sure last year there was a bit of stuff dragged to light on the issue.

Winston is a windsock and will go any direction political winds take him esp if he can smell votes and a headline.

    • I had heard other people mentioning jab for parole & benefit & by WP & this helps verify those screen shot tweets.
So just not Matt King, as the paper uses other sources too.

Some online critics – including his political rival, DemocracyNZ leader Matt King – have highlighted Peters’ numerous comments supporting vaccination.

“All the international evidence and best practice supports the pro-vaccine case,” one post on Peters’ personal Facebook page said in November 2021.

The country had been let down by the slow vaccine roll-out and “a minority who refuse to get vaccinated”, said another.
      Low Māori vaccination rates were a “threat to the whole population”; “we must get fully vaccinated ASAP”;
      “vaccinate to the max”.

One post even advocated a controversial policy to require beneficiaries and prisoners to be vaccinated before receiving social support. “No jab means no dole and no parole,” it said

So one can see that Winston Peters is just as jabbed as Matt King.
But I do not think that Matt pushed it upon others.

Up to you Iaasb to figure who is the most slippery, bearing in mind the Choices Winston Peters laid out in October when out of power & not in coalition with Ardern..

Now particularly on how he will handle other issues like Fresh Water Farm Plans, SGA’s Farm Emission Plans.
I am too long in the tooth having heard WP when he first entered Parliament, sounded very good, thought he would have been the next Prime Minister back in the 1990′ but he kicked over the traces, and has continued to do so, always for some principle, like as you see in that newspaper article itself, it was not me who did that writing…. … yeah right ….

The real issue is that politics is so frustrating, & here in NZ there is very little Choice.
In a sense I support DNZ, and my local electorate candidate who takes no prisonners in regarding a pinky finger. To try & effect policies.
I have been following a bit on ones in GroundSwell

      • I first met the drunken dwarf at a national Party conference in Rotorua in the early 1980’s. He was a pompous arse then, so nothing has changed. I was there presenting a brochure I had designed for the up coming election. It was accepted so it must have been a good one.

  28. So the guy who is charged with the murder of the Christchurch realestate agent is a Chinese National who arrived in March with $600,000 looking to buy a house.
Overseas buyers are not allowed to buy houses of course.

Newshub can reveal the two Christchurch brothers convicted of almost 70 sex crime and drugging charges don’t hold New Zealand passports and could be deported back to Australia when released from prison.

Danny and Roberto Jaz were sentenced to long prison sentences last week. Victims spoken to by Newshub are thrilled the pair may never walk free here again.

  31. Bruce Cotterill: My pride in New Zealand is turning to embarrassment

This week, two events in particular stopped me in my tracks and forced me to question my pride in my country.

First, I was sent an article that had appeared online. The headline alone stopped me. I sent a note to an economist I know. “Can this be true?” “Yes,” came the reply.

Gee, I thought. I know we’re not going very well at the moment, but are we really that bad?

The second incident occurred on the campaign trail. For some reason known only to itself, the Government decided to make government spending a headline. Almost gleefully, it announced that, in responding to the cost-of-living crisis, its new economic policies would include a $4 billion cut to government spending over the next four years.

Four billion dollars in savings. That sounds like a lot – and it is. But it’s not. One of the problems with politicians is that they throw out numbers. But a number on its own says nothing. To be useful, a number must be comparable with another number.

Four billion in planned savings! Both the PM and the finance minister championed the announcement as something special. In doing so, they are either being deliberately misleading or they don’t understand what they’re talking about.

The problem with the $4b announcement is the lack of relativity. So at the risk of boring you for a few paragraphs, allow me to put some context into those $4b savings.

When the Labour-led Government took over the Treasury benches in 2017, total Crown expenditure was $99b a year. Over the previous five years – 2012 to 2017 – that number had grown from $92b. So the total growth in government spending immediately before their arrival was $7b, or 7.6 per cent, over that five years, about 1.5 per cent a year.

    https://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/bruce-cotterill-my-pride-in-new-zealand-is-turning-to-embarrassment/LWAOEHFFLZEQZOOREUMM4JZRKM/
And then this week came that article I mentioned earlier. It says the latest International Monetary Fund data projects the NZ economy to have the second-lowest GDP growth in the world in 2024, placing us in 159th place out of 160 countries, alongside Italy. Fortunately, we were beaten into last place by Equatorial Guinea.

Just consider that. That means our GDP outlook for 2024 is worse than almost every basket-case economy, every war-torn country, every collapsing state, except for one. Worse than Zimbabwe, Greece or Venezuela.

My pride is quickly turning to embarrassment. Because I feel we should be doing something about it and people like me should be helping. But at the same time, we are powerless to do so, as long as those in the Beehive continue to fail to understand the problem.
