  1. Tova O’Brien squawks in Stuff this morning that National are a bunch of Tossers for not announcing new bribes for Voters at their Election Launch yesterday.

And just like like TV3, 6.00pm News last night, which was a straight out Jenna Lynch hit job with stilted speech to make her point, so is this Stuff article, a Tova O’Brien and Stuff hit job on National. I am no National or Nude Nut lover, but quite frankly O’Brien and Lynch are neither objective, thinkers or questioners, just straight Muckrakers.

If O’Brien or Lynch think that they know better how to run an Election Campaign Launch, then I would like to see a past example of their efforts in this field, otherwise they are not experts or have the credentials to claim it should have contained more Policy announcements or how in fact a Campaign Launch should be run. They do have the credentials to enquire, investigate and report but not pass personal opinion.

Au contraire In respect of your comment that ‘…They are not experts or have the credentials…’, they ARE ‘experts ‘cos they’re JOURNALISTS and consequently THE MOST IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN THE WO\RLD’, cos they INFLUENCE PUBLIC OPINION and TELL THE TRUTH (At least in their own minds). (Apologies for the caps BTW – merely for ’emphasis’).

On the basis of the above, they are ‘Experts on EVERYTHING and if they don’t know about something they will quite happily make it up ‘cos they’re IMPORTANT don’t cha know.

It has always been thus, and these two will continue to do as they do as long as chippy pays them.

    • K, you are right. Unfortunately I live in a world long gone and am too dumb, thick or backward to keep up with the current description or definition of what a Political Reporter is. I thought a Journalist was a Journalist, you know, someone who analyses a subject and reports on the findings, not an Opinion Piece writer.

If I wanted to read an opinion piece, I would have looked at the Australian Spectator, The New Yorker.

      • AH
Media scum have always lied like the scum they are .
This is not new. It is just now you have the chance to fact check, bounce around ideas like on here (not fruity blog, that is a dark hole) ; see podcasts and presentations other than the controlled crap.
Check out Sky news AU or GB news.

In the 1980s I personally knew of 3 stories in the Horrid.
Each of the three was massively misreported against the facts.
In the period 2001 to 2007 Das Herald took massive advertising dollars from the finance companies without ever doing any analysis – but all happy to report on the collapses when the money dried up.

MSM has always been a controlled outlet.
In NZ there was not even private sector radio allowed until the 1970s.
The current goo-mint media control is not an aberration or ‘shiny new thing’
There was not even a non-government teevee channel in ao tear zooland until 6 weeks before the 1990s started.
        Late in the piece .
And Fact :- the goo-mint funded channel tried hard using taxpayers money to send it into receivership- which it did after a mere six months.
teevee three has always been on the backfoot and has to comply to exist. It is a permanent loss-making fake news/propaganda and trash reality teevee outlet of zero merit.
The goo-mint channel teevee one brought teevee three into line quick smart in 1990.
See the Marcia Russell book for more detail.

I gave up on the goo-mint shit on teevee in 1972 when they were lying about the US War of Aggression in Vietnam .
In another act of US warfare and aggression – the 1990/91 war against Iraq it was so much harder to find facts on that. It was about 6 years later I found a book that explained it -the Shell Game .
Compare to now where we can access non-MSM material easily on the latest of many US acts of war aggression ….against Russia.

MSM is shit for facts. Today, one hundred years ago, two hundred years ago; 100 years into the future. They will still be pushing doom and gloom shite and attacking the base level food providers.
In the 1980s they told you eggs and cheese were bad as they were paid to do by the big US food manufacturers. You know , the ones that sold Mcegg burgers or whatever, quiches, cheese burgers, pizzas.

It was only 1990 I purchased a teevee and soon after got Sky. It was good and very cost effective then, back in the olden days.

The 1960s/70s had Vietnam propaganda to justify US invasion of Vietnam.
The 1940s war reporting was wall to wall propaganda.
Same 1914-1918. They would not even tell the truth about the killer Influenza, same as the convid scam.
        The 1930s depression.

So tell me Ancient Hooligan, when was this magical, mystical time that media filth ever told the truth ?

  4. The U.S. government and pharmaceutical companies are investing a substantial amount to develop new mRNA vaccines for infectious diseases and cancer, fueling a lucrative mRNA platform valued at $136.2 billion.

A newly established White House program announced on Aug. 23 that it is granting a total of $25 million over three years to Emory University, Yale School of Medicine, and the University of Georgia to develop personalized therapeutic vaccines against cancers and emerging infections, similar to how COVID-19 mRNA vaccines target SARS-CoV-2. They aim to use mRNA—an essential element in COVID-19 vaccines developed to prevent SARS-CoV-2 infections—to program a unique class of immune cells called dendritic cells to initiate a desired immunological response.

Pharmaceutical companies such as Moderna, BioNTech, and CureVac are conducting clinical trials using mRNA-based vaccines with advanced melanoma, ovarian, colorectal, and pancreatic cancers. The National Institutes of Health is partnering with BioNTech to develop a personalized vaccine for pancreatic cancers. In addition to COVID-19 and cancer, other mRNA-based vaccines in development target influenza, genital herpes, respiratory viruses, and shingles.

      • There is a lot of alternative viable cancer treatment in Mexico outside the controlled of the Big pharma contro$$ed CDC and FDA.
The US letter agencies are anti-good health. Fact check it !!
        You’ll see.

The USA has very, very poor health outcomes and spends more for less. About 20% of GDP on health (2015 figures) where over 40 million people cant access healthcare while NZ/AU/UK/France spend about 9.5% to 11.5 % of GDP on health for better overall outcomes.
Libya had free universal healthcare before the great Satan, USA destroyed it .

India is emerging in alternative to Big Pharma health.

          • A fundamental problem with India is they don’t adhere to the idea that a rising tide will lift all ships.

They actually have a low country average IQ – lack of protein contributes; long term poor health through regular dysentery and diarrhea; a diet when they get enough of it is a lead in to obesity, diabetes and heart condition.
But a normal distribution curve means that with one quarter the world population (1.3 Billion +) there has to be some capable ones. Much lower avg IQ that China.

Mostly very dishonest in business. Back to the ‘rising tide’ concept.
Its more recent openness to Russia should help and ameliorate some of the tension with China as BRICs becomes more viable.

They should work out the US will always shit on their partners- NATO, Germany, Japan, Ukraine as a battering ram, allies in 1980 to 1988 with Iraq as Iraq were beating Iran who deeply embarrassed the US warmongers in 1979/80 .

Modi seems to be on the right path but as you see ex-pats dont change much as their country changes; so I don’t hold out much joy for the ones already here in ao tear zooland.

  5. Are We Too Afraid of Germs? Immunologist Dr. Steven Templeton on Healthy Infections, the Appearance of Safety, and Shutdown Culture

“Up until early 2020, the idea that you would wear a cloth face covering to prevent giving someone else a respiratory infection or acquiring it yourself—there was no evidence to support that. But after things had been shut down for a while, there seemed to be a need to give the public something that they could believe was going to make them safer—convince them that maybe they could go out if they just wore something over their face. That was enough. That was the appearance of safety, giving them that control—the illusion of control.”
In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Steven Templeton, professor of immunology at Indiana University School of Medicine and the author of a new book, “Fear of a Microbial Planet: How a Germophobic Safety Culture Makes Us Less Safe.”
“It’s offering people this idea that they can completely eliminate risks—for their children, for themselves,” says Dr. Templeton.
Could our fear and excessive avoidance of germs and microbes actually be backfiring? And how will the rise of what Dr. Templeton calls a “safety culture” impact future generations?

  6. COVID Mask Wearers Could Be Exposed to Toxic Chemicals: Study
    FEATUREDCOVID News

Some have heralded masks as the gold standard of protective gear against COVID-19. However, they may be causing more problems than expected.

Results from a study published in the Journal of Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety in May have indicated that masks pose significant risks to wearers due to toxins emitted by the tight-fitting face coverings.

Researchers from South Korea measured the number and concentration of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted from several different masks, including cotton masks and KF94 masks—a popular type of disposable mask similar to the N95 mask.

Four types of VOCs were detected in KF94 masks at 22.9–147 times higher concentrations compared to other masks comprised of fabrics like cotton. The total number of VOC particles was 14 times that in cotton masks. In some KF94 masks, numbers reached a threshold high enough to pose a serious risk to human health.

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), VOCs are manmade chemicals that can evaporate at room temperature and are often “used and produced in the manufacture of paints, pharmaceuticals, and refrigerants.”

Inhaling them may cause the following:

“A quarter to half of Earth’s vegetated lands has shown significant greening over the last 35 years largely due to rising levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide, according to a new study published in the journal Nature Climate Change on April 25.
An international team of 32 authors from 24 institutions in eight countries led the effort, which involved using satellite data from NASA’s Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectrometer and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Advanced Very High Resolution
Radiometer instruments to help determine the leaf area index, or amount of leaf cover, over the planet’s vegetated regions. The greening represents an increase in leaves on plants and trees equivalent in area to two times the continental United States.
Green leaves use energy from sunlight through photosynthesis to chemically combine carbon dioxide drawn in from the air with water and nutrients tapped from the ground to produce sugars, which are the main source of food, fiber and fuel for life on Earth. Studies have shown that increased concentrations of carbon dioxide increase photosynthesis, spurring plant growth.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2023/09/rural-concerns-wairarapa-farmer-highlights-issues-facing-sector.html

A Wairarapa famer says the industry is “sick of being told what to do” by the Government and fears regulation may push some out of the industry.

The rural sector has been hit by extreme weather events in the past year, while wool, beef, lamb, and dairy prices have taken a hit too – but Williams said Government regulation is one issue that’s “wreaking havoc” on the industry.

“It’s compounding you know, there’s weather events all the time. It’s (regulation) really wreaking havoc on them, mentally, stressfully, financially.”

  15. Last week Pravda, occasionally referred to as the Wairarapa Times Age, threw tradition out of the window & published an article that gave weight to two sides of an argument. The topic was solar farms.

In the wake of the granting of consents for a few solar developments a group of Greytown residents has formed & is challenging a project on the outskirts of the town citing the “safety & environmental impact of solar intensification”. It’s worth noting that such generation has to be close to Transpower’s existing transmission lines unless developers are prepared to underwrite huge costs to run the electricity into the national grid.

While Greytown is awash with wealthy, nimby ex Wellingtonians who have a very watchful eye on their incredibly over-inflated property values they are not short of arguments worthy of debate. Included are:

    # Modern solar panels have heavy metals & rare earth materials in them which are toxic in solar blazes which are not uncommon in overseas solar farms.

    # Apart from toxic smoke the fires would have to be put out using special chemicals which if drained into the surrounding soil will effect the district’s aquifers used for agriculture & town drinking water.

    # There is concern over the noise pollution via humming from the inverters.

    # No-one has seen plans for getting rid of the panels at the end of their economic life. Presently they are considered to be unrecyclable.

    # Solar farms overseas are generally situated on barren desert land away from civilisation whereas in NZ we are hellbent on covering productive land with the garbage.

All points which readers may consider worth bringing up the next time some demented eco-warrior starts banging on about clean green renewable energy.

    • It’s true I am on their mailing list and received this email yesterday=

The Board voted to stand Ted Johnston down as Deputy Leader of New Conservative. Today he then stepped down as a Board Member and resigned his Party Membership.
The reason for Ted Johnston’s departure is as follows.
It is a natural dynamic of New Zealand’s electoral system that parties with a very small share of the vote (e.g. 0.1%) will seek to ally themselves with parties like ours, which are considerably bigger. That does not mean it makes good sense to do so.

At a Board Meeting in July, the Board ruled out going into a multiparty “umbrella” or other form of electoral alliance with Brian Tamaki, Sue Grey, and their parties. This decision was taken after due deliberation as being in the best interests of New Conservative, and after feedback from party members.
Ted Johnston was unable to accept this decision and has since then continued to advocate for an “umbrella” party and/or some form of electoral alliance, including with the above parties. As this is a fundamental policy disagreement with the Board, it is entirely appropriate for Ted Johnston to step down.
Meanwhile, the New Conservative election campaign is going very well. As well as garnering votes through the hard work of our campaign team and activists, we are scoring major policy successes. Both the National Party and New Zealand First have adopted elements of our flagship FamilyBuilder policy.
Radical transgender ideology has become a talking point with leading politicians and the media. With no doubt more of these things to follow.

    • 20 years is a bit long as CEO.
While you are not being innovative as a CEO of a council – collect the rubbish, kill the rabbits, maintain the parks and roads, don’t give money to robbers mates fisting festivals – surely someone should question whether a new person could bring in fresh perspective.

In addition he was supposed to finish about now -Sep or Oct 2023 – but his term was renewed for an extensive period just before the election – for no good and valid reason.
I was not like he would finish in January 2023 and leave a continuity issue.
Suspicion has to be caste in these circumstances.

  19. Point to ponder.

“The lesson the Germans should have learned from WW1 was that they didn’t have the resources to fight everyone at once, and yet they 20 years later they are fighting the British Empire, the USA and the USSR.”

    7

    0

    • My take is that the Germans had high hopes that the UK, not being prepared for war, wouldn’t get involved. After all Chamberlain said it was ‘peace for our time’ & signed the Munich Agreement in 1938. If Hitler hadn’t attacked USA shipping then they would have been quite happy to sell armaments to whoever wanted them.

But what in the humble opinion of this correspondent, absolutely fucked Germany was taking on Russia when they did. If instead they’d secured reliable oil supplies in the Middle East the outcome would have been vastly different.

      Mistakes heaped upon mistakes.

      9

      0

      • And many in Britain secretly admired the Nazis. Including some in the Royal Family. Hitler definitely did not want a war with Britain.

From a military strategy point of view, attacking Russia was suicide. It’s too vast for any conventional army to conquer. Just look at the debacle in Ukraine. Even if the Ukranians push the Russians back to the pre war borders, then what. No one has ever been past the Urals as far as I know, and there is a bit behind those mountains. Only other way is from the South. Unlikely or the North. Impossible. Russia is unconquerable. Period.

      • Nass. There’s also the fact that Napoleon Bonaparte, who was deemed the greatest war time strategist of his time, in 1812, marched his troops toward Moscow during severe winter conditions and lost 500,000 men.
Just over a hundred years later, Hitler tried the same thing with similar results.
“On Nov. 8, 1941, Nazi Minister of Propaganda Joseph Goebbels published an article in the magazine Reich that called for “heavy sacrifices” from the German people in the “hard war” ahead.”

If they were such great strategists they would have known this, so why sacrifice your army? Unless of course, that was the intention. All wars, are banker wars.

        • The purpose of Napoleon’s invasion of Russia was to halt trade between them & Britain. There had been treaties in place but the Tsar broke them when the trade embargo began to hurt Russia. It’s doubtful that Napoleon thought about the possibility of defeat so gungho had he become in the wake of his military successes up until that time.

Hitler’s invasion is harder to fathom but in a sense once the Fascists had taken over Germany war between them & socialist Russia was inevitable. They were totally ideologically opposed. Both wanted a stoush but equally they wanted time to prepare & signed treaties with each other to buy time.

In 1941 Hitler moved first. Had he waited until Britain was neutralised by treaty or invasion there’s a slight possibility that the outcome could have been different.

But as RoL noted above Russia is essentially impregnable at least in the sense of a conventional military invasion. It’s too big & if they can’t beat an invading army they can retreat until winter does the job for them.

    • Likely that laser type weapons exist in my view but zero proof that they were used in Hawaii or anywhere else.
I listened to Ed Dowd being interviewed by Paul Brennan last week. Ed lives on Maui and has connections all over the island.
His opinion was there is nothing that can’t be explained by the weather conditions and incompetent management of resources and responses. He told Paul that the moment he uncovers anything that indicates any kind of weapons being used he will speak up about it. I would say that Ed is a very rational and evidence driven individual.

      • ….incompetent management of resources …
        I would challenge that.
We have seen enough malicious action in the last 6 years to suggest not all the ‘fuck ups ‘in NZ are down to incompetence and many are malicious intent.

Started with J keys and , oh yeah, nothing will come of UNDRIP.
He is well woven into the globalist network.
        A proven liar like ardern.

I would suggest on 27 January this year; as part of the trend; Wayne Brown was under informed of the flood capacity .
If he was so bad and did not declare a SOEm until 9.30 why did NZTA pack up at 8.00pm when cars were bobbing about in water on their motorways?
The Christchurch shootings were a convenient excuse to steal firearms, an event that occured days after arch-criminal Podesta was in CHC itself; on the day a poolice exercise was occurring…..

You can’t put all the shit of the last six years in NZ down to incompetence.
The fact that so many lives were lost in Maui when things were supposed to be tuned up after Hurricane Katrina must lead to valid questions .
        Malice was involved.

        • The incompetence related to leaving dried out sugar cane residue as a fuel source,
leaving the electricity on during a major gale, blocking roads etc. He also stated that Maui has an arson problem and there is evidence of at least one fire being deliberately started.

  20. Act Party will reinstate gas exploration, while Winston Peters takes aim at “Māori elite”

The Act Party says it will reverse the ban on new oil and gas exploration if it is part of the next government. It will also strip away Te Mana o te Wai from resource consenting, which it said relies on “vague spiritual concepts”.

National has already said it will reverse the ban and Christopher Luxon’s potential coalition partner David Seymour said a high-skilled and high-waged economy depends on affordable and reliable energy.

“Act will cut the red tape that is strangling innovation, holding back reliability and driving up energy prices,” he said.

Part of that “red tape” is Te Mana o te Wai, according to the Act leader.

“Removing Te Mana o te Wai from resource consenting would simplify the process by stripping vague spiritual concepts such as mauri, or the “life-force” of water from consideration,” says Seymour.

“It adds complexity and costs to the consenting process. It has led to water users making large one-off and on-going payments for “cultural monitoring” services which do nothing for the environment but add decades of costs to power bills and disincentives international investors.”

    • Notional have put out a pledge card.

There is no mention of restoring gas exploration.
There is mention of Net Zero by 2050.
A completely retarded idea from a retard.

The pledge is heavy on non directed welfare-
      -Maintain Editors Winter wine payments
-Increase middle class welfare instead of boosting productividy.

Promise for a one off (overdue) adjustment to the tax thresholds but no tax cut – but pretending it is
      …lies lies lies

Indexing super annually- it is already indexed AFAIK

More high paying jobs- Johnny keys did that and promised to make NZ a south seas banking centre but all we got was Bottle O workers, and uber drivers.

      Hocus fkg pocus.
luxon is a feral fucker in bald bitch clothing.

        • To delve into right & wrong you need undoctored information & our “tyrannical masters” are determined to keep that from us. Truth has always been elusive but no other generations have faced government sponsored spin & disinformation such as we do.

We are amateurs in the info wars. Our slimy elected representatives are experts.

  21. Why did P&O cruise leave 50 passengers standing on the Auckland wharf?
The reckoned that you needed a visa was needed to visit Norfolk Island,
    But never told anyone!
How come any kiwi can rockup to anywhere on mainland Aussie, with out one?
    Sounds like someone is lying!

  22. New Zealand PM @chrishipkins says there was no compulsory vaccination and that people made their own choices.

So if an employer says “sleep with me or you’re fired” then that’s ok?
Because there was no compulsion? There was a choice?
How would that stand up in court?

    • “Coercion involves influencing someone’s decision-making process through threats, manipulation, or pressure, while force involves using physical strength or power to compel someone to act or behave in a certain way.”

Not the best explanation. What is the difference between “power” and “threats, manipulation, or pressure”?

  23. So sad.

Tributes have poured in after Stephanie Aston, the young woman who publicly stood up for herself after being told she was faking her symptoms by doctors, has died.
