  1. CLOWNWORLD, After dozens of arms deals with Ukraine from every Western country on the planet adding up to around 150 to 200 billion dollars those same people want China to stop the hermit kingdom of North Korea doing an arms deal with Russia that would be terrible for the outcome of their proxy war with Putin.
As usual the Western media are jumping the gun as to the real reason Kim has visited Putin but they never let the truth ruin a good story ,if we’d listened to them regarding this war Putin would’ve already been dead and buried and Biden / Zelensky and their fellow travelers would be enjoying an autumn holiday in Red Square…
Love your 2nd meme ED,my Mrs reckons men get to around that age and go through a similar change in life as what’s referred as “the terrible 2s” in children, 😆 🤣

      • Viking ,I actually had a lie in this morning till 3.45 , my days are always good Viking except when a person who doesn’t know me from a bar of soap presumes to tell me how I should comment on my favourite blog and even more bizarrely tells me that “Google is my friend”and should be trusted, that despite them posting many times on YSB about the blatant censorship that all of those big tech platforms carried out over the last decade on many serious subjects ,remember Viking Google don’t produce the news they just gather it together and decide what their biggest donors want released to the mostly stupid sheeple of the planet ,they aren’t yours or my friend Vikey ,you have a good day to 😎 😎

        • Excuse me for living.
Like i didn’t know all that.
Not at anytime have i ever said google. Fb or many others including the news delivers of many kinds are accurate nor to be trusted.
However they do disseminate lots of information as news services have since the printing press was invented before the Crimean war.
Its over to the indivdual to filter what they want to read.
Google especially is abook full of knowledge about many things. again you have to filter wat you beleive.
Many people find it very helpful ( not shilling for google but that’s what it does,)
e.g.I have just been to Hamiton and had to go places there. I had no idea where to go but Google Maps talles me every turn.
Whats not to ;ike about that? aAnd I can tell I have tried to fool it around my town and it is spot on every time.
Just one tiny application that’s useful.

Sad you had to attack me again this morning.

          1

          1

          • Oh no viking I haven’t attacked you at all, please point out where in that comment I “attacked” you , FFS everything I commented was factual, you did criticise my form of commenting on YSB and insisted i was a low IQ old guy because I didn’t continually copy and paste crap that most informed people are already aware of.
You did say that Google is our friend and by inferring that must be trustworthy or do you have friends that are not to be trusted?
Google maps isn’t a source of news its an app to get you from A to B or look at for geographical information, seriously if my comments make you “sad” don’t fricking read them, I’m not trying to be nasty Vikey just pointing out the facts as I see them , I may very well be wrong?.

  2. Both Memes today are great. NEVER get an electric car, If they run out of power I cannot bring you electricity to fix the problem, but I sure can bring you a can of petrol to get you going again. And there is the governments power right there. And it serves the bastards that buy an electric vehicle right.
The second one is so right only 50? Some of them are as woke as hell so don’t have the fury that we older people have. And as an aside we know shit so can argue till the cows come home.
Have a great day out there people, and be careful………..regardless of what they say the government is out to get ya.

  3. I am sure the Ukrainians will understand fully without any explanation, the “Maori Worldview” in the donation of these St John’s Ambulances.

The “Maori Worldview is determined as: “a holistic worldview that focuses on interconnections and is grounded in tikanga customary values and lore and mātauranga knowledge”. Aaahhh, of course, how unique!

If like me, being the family disappointment and one who is totally ignorant and confused about most matters of life, then you may also see, as I tend too, much Bullshit in this whole exercise.

  4. TAH,The Ukraine people should be warned about the dangers involved in Native names from Gayotearoa, the next thing will be Willie Jackson and Nanaia Mahuta jetting into their country (after the bullets stop flying of course) and setting up a Waitangi Tribunal because history shows that Ukraine once belonged to Maori and should be returned along with all the treasures in that country to the rightful owners , afterall that’s exactly what is happening right here right now in our place NZ.

  6. Wonderful news! The Greens are down 2% in the polls! That means my job is safe, it’s hard being co – leader of a party where losing makes you popular and winning gets you rolled. I used to wonder about that then I looked around at our M.Ps and realised black is white and the clocks are striking 13. You have to ask what kind of nutters actually vote for us.

    13

    0

    • Between 1 in 10 and 1 in 8
      they are all around us.

If you took the vote away from women the greens would disappear.
there is no need for them in the 2020s
The policies are taken up by mainstream soft-cocks now – like teal luxon
Hence ‘Green in name only’ are occupied by anarchists and wreckers .

  7. Party Vote

National 39% (+2% from last poll in August 2023)
    Labour 28% (-1%)
    ACT 10% (-3%)
    Greens 10% (-2%)
    Maori Party 2.6% (nc)
    NZ First 5.0% (+1.3%)
    Freedoms NZ 0.5% (-0.2%)
    TOP 1.4% (+0.8%)
    New Conservatives 0.8% (+0.5%)
    DemocracyNZ 0.3% (+0.3%)

    Preferred PM

    Chris Hipkins 23% (+2%)
    Christopher Luxon 23% (+3%)
    David Seymour 5% (-1%)
    Chloe Swarbrick 1% (-1%)
    winston peters 4% (+1%)
    Jacinda Ardern 1% (-1%)
    Nicola Willis 1% (-1%)

    I note:
Democracy NZ is at least showing
Ardern is still there but not Key
Winston has not been given caps
The unacceptance of Luxon is holding back National.
ACT are losing ground – is that Seymour?

  8. Walking the streets delivering pamphlets gives one time to contemplate “why is Democracy NZ not making any ground.”
A list of some of the Parties that are around now are in no particular order –
    Freedoms NZ Umbrella Party,
    Outdoors & Freedom,
    Rock the Vote,
    Vision NZ,
    Yes Aotearoa
    Leighton Baker Party
    Democratic Alliance Umbrella Party
    Democracy NZ
    NewZeal (previously ONE Party)
    NZ Loyal
    New Conservatives
Protect and Prosper (not yet registered)
    NZ First
    New Nation Party

Doesn’t exactly stand out does it?

havent heard of a few of those parties but the ones i have all have something in common…. egos and mostly bonkers in their own minced way although i guess thats a requirement to become political scum

      • The other thing is common they would all be regarded as to the right of the Labour left spectrum. Need more Parties on the left to soak up the dissatisfied Labour voter who will not go right rather than just transferring to the Greens – or like you to the Maoris.

    • Consider that DNZ get no funding from Govt. No big commercial or business donors and don’twant it, (donald trump anyone?)
The other [arties in parliament have open cheque books obn your dime to roam around on your airpoibts andyour cars etc and have bug donors from either the Union, the business or from unknown sources.
DNZ has none of that advantage. they al;so do not get a lot of Free air time on telly etc like tha protagonists that creates news and therefore eyeballs as that is what pays their wages.
      Tough ask.
they would welcome any private donations that you care enough to make.

  10. Dame Susan Devoy says only death will heal the racism of some members on this blog.😒🤔😃

    Quote:

“Whatever I say is not going to change their point of view, the only thing that is going to change is that eventually they will pass away, and let’s hope the next generation haven’t inherited those beliefs that they have.”

However, like all liberals when talking of race, they also are blind to their own shortcomings:

    Quote:

”The 59-year-old ( Devoy) recalled an incident in which she was accused of “abolishing” Christmas after working with Belong Aotearoa, then known as the Auckland Regional Migrants Society, a service set up to support refugees and new arrivals settling into New Zealand.

A Christmas lunch was being held for the collective, however most of the migrants weren’t Christian and didn’t feel a connection with the holiday, so a more inclusive seasonal message replaced “Merry Christmas”.

Dame Susan will never know how offensive that is to many NZers. Of course Muslims would understand. They would NEVER change for Christians. They would say : ”are you fucken mad?”. Why, yes, we in the West are mad. We sell our culture down the drain to appease others.

    • “Whatever I say is not going to change their point of view, the only thing that is going to change is that eventually they will pass away, and let’s hope the next generation haven’t inherited those beliefs that they have.”

Points of view are not always inherited; they are often formed through experiences in the real world.
If a Chinese or Indian child is bullied by larger and more aggressive students of a certain ethnicity, they will form their own opinions of that ethnicity, which will manifest themselves in a generation later when that now successful Indian or Chinese businessman recalls their childhood experiences when considering which applications to hire.

      You reap what you sew.

Devoy is naive. People are not programmable machines.

      • ”Points of view are not always inherited; they are often formed through experiences in the real world.”

Correct. Using your bully example. If we took one ethnicity out of the equation, schools in NZ would not have a bully problem.

      • Perhaps if the definition of racism was changed back to what it originally meant it would solve the problem.

Life isn’t fair or what ever, get over it and move on FFS. I do not own rental housing, have never been on the dole, and always worked to support myself to have what I have got. I am sick to death of the whining of the young, they need to get over themselves I bet she has an apple phone which will be newer than mine and possibly Netflix etc.

Pressure on public service agencies to reduce spending has led the Ministry of Disabled People to cancel an $88,000 two-day staff hui, but it’s yet to recoup all the money.

Last week, 177 staff from across the country were scheduled to attend a two-day hui, which chief executive Paula Tesoriero told Newshub was going to be the first opportunity for most to meet and workshop face-to-face.

The estimated cost of the event was about $88,000, which included the cost of accessible venue hire, travel, accommodation, meals, sign language interpreters and other accessibility requirements.

  14. When they used to question bullshit.
    Sep 2007
Why do weather records only begin in 1914?

But if records go back less than 100 years, can we really set much store by so-called freak events such as the floods this summer? The fact that we do irritates Philip Eden, a weather historian. “Saying it is ‘unprecedented’ allows the people who look after our infrastructure a ready-made excuse for not being able to deal with [extreme weather]. It is not unprecedented.”

Eden uses records going back to 1727 and says there have been 15 summers wetter than this one. “The 16th wettest summer on record doesn’t make such a good headline, does it?”

So 1914 become convenient for lies.

NZ warmest day in Feb 1973 is now more than 50 years ago and never come within a degree of that since.
the only western country to have a highest temp in the last 50 years is England and a couple of Euro countries and we can’t trust anything from them anymore. lies lies lies.

the first couple of decades of the 20th century were much warmer than now.

Yet it’s worth noting that spending millions of dollars to paint rainbows on crossings & constructing unused cycle lanes while neglecting maintenance on infrastructure has a downside.

      • It’s interesting how MSM is now treating this stuff. They still have a ever shrinking smirk on their face, but the outright scepticism is now gone. There’s two reasons for that. Our modern fast paced social media demands sensational news stories every 24 hours. True or not. It doesn’t get much bigger than aliens. The second reason is far too many military people and civilian’s of good character are now coming forward to share their stories; many before they die.

I used to think if these stories were true, authorities should just get it over and done with and announce aliens have/ are visiting earth. I’ve changed my mind even though I believe it’s inevitable. I’ve come to the conclusion far too many people would lose their minds… unable to digest a worldview where humans and their God are not at the top of the food chain, and aren’t in any way special. Just another species in the universe.

    • Saggy, I find it odd that the MSM have not and are not questioning Labour, Hipkins or Robertson on this Governments borrowings and more importantly on the huge multi Billion Dollar Interest Payments that are subsequently required for which you and your children and grandchildren will handsomely pay for and that are only increasing by the week.

Either the MSM are financially illiterate and don’t understand basic economics, accounting or simple finances and when you have the quality of Journalist like Liam Dann, Audrey Young, Jack Tame, Jenna Lynch, Amelia wade etc, I guess you can understand. Or these Journalists wish to protect their chosen Political persuasion or, they are paid to look away. I suspect all three.

Ambitious tech project partnering US giant and govt agency founders

A confidential government project with a big US tech firm was aimed at sparking “government system-wide change” – but went nowhere.

The idea was hatched by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) as a so-called “lighthouse” project in 2020-21 after Internal Affairs asked it to come up with some special work for Microsoft.

OIA papers said the principles of “openness” and “transparency” undergirded the project.

However, it was set up and run under an exclusive memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Microsoft that was not disclosed to the public till earlier this year.

I am however concerned that there is an individual constantly on here who will not brook any view contrary to his own and berates those who may not share his view. One can only scroll past his views and broken links for a few years before exasperation sets in
    Just saying….

  25. Good question.

    @Bournebright
There is more to you than meets the eye.

Who amongst your ex friends could have withstood the kind of anger and hatred that was thrown your way during the last 3 yrs simply for being strong enough to stand by your principles?

How many could have done it?

    Exactly.

  26. Thursday night quote:

“In your 20s, you really do care about what people think about you.
You get to be 40, you don’t really care what people think about you.
Then you get to be 60, you realize no one thought of you in the first place.”

  27. Aw thank you for the kind comments fellow bloggers. I confess that I am somewhat in awe of the wit and intelligence here. Thank you Ed. Not kissing ass, but I greatly enjoy the divergent views and witticisms. And Viking, I know you will castigate me , but although you’re into sadomasocism, bestiality and necrophilia, will you please stop flogging a dead horse?

We will all eventually go the same way. As our former bitch of a PM said more than once, BE KIND////
He’s not the only supporter of Democracy NZ on this blog

        • No , just been very busy with work and spreading the word in other ways.
For people who complain about what has gone on the last 6 years, there seem to be many here who are accepting that changing colours will change our country when indeed it needs a better sense of purpose and direction and more importantly recognition of two things.
Our countries soverignty and citizens rights to the freedom to choose.
Both have been removed from our country. ( which many have complained about.)

Surely that is an obvious reason to change.
I have no doubt that after the election results and the machinations of parties and policies Iis finished there will be more than a few here that start complaining all over again.

Think about that for a bit.

Ed, you need to up the payments to me if I’m to stick around. I am the star performer on this blog as you are well aware and as such the folding needs to increase.

      • With respect Ed, I will never be old.
Age is but a number and you are on your way there.
I have cataracts in both eyes from long-term use of medication which I would rather not take but have to.
Can’t see properly all the time. 12k to get fixed. Coming up soon. No subsidy for me.
But I try and I will never give up because I will learn to talk the pages. You could put a Microphone on like MS has on their word and mail. You would just have to silence squawky bird.

  28. The other day I posted on the wisdom of Luxon not ruling out Winston. I praised whoever was advising him. Thankfully I’m not the only one thinking like this. My fear now is if Luxton moves well into the 40s he may mistakenly believe he can rule Winston out.

This sheila also is thinking along similar lines to me. That makes her an excellent writer even though I have never heard of her.

    Quote:

”Never say never and never say always, is a good mantra to live by.

Despite Jason Walls’ expressed outrage at Luxon’s refusal to rule Peter’s in or out, I believe Luxon’s strategy is the right one; although in the very latest August Curia poll National, still stubbornly at 35%, (8% ahead of Labour) is able to form a government with Act with a 64 seat majority.”

The voting public is a fickle beast, and if Luxon ruled Peters out they might flock to him out of pure bloody mindedness. With National’s stubborn mid to low 30s figures, a Plan B must be in National’s mind.

”In the worse case scenario it will be easier for Luxon to phone Peters on election night with no animosity between them, which would not be the case if Luxon had taken Walls’ advice and ruled him out.”

        • I probably didn’t phrase it well. My point is that there are only three options should Peters be returned with a block of seats which he almost certainly will. He could stay on the benches but that won’t produce much in the way of baubles. Both Peters & Hipkins have ruled each other out.

Now there is absolutely no point in Luxon climbing on the bandwagon. Antagonising a potential coalition partner who could be used to temper ACT’s demands for no electoral gain makes no sense.

            • But does Winston Peters antagonism is that he does not really want to deliver?
To be a Don Quixote, railing & charging against some major issues but often doing a bait & switch & then flailing at windmills, that supposedly others raised to block him.
But a good flail at a windmill makes WP look effective, while keeping & raising his profile.

It is has always a good point on how others have always blocked him, but now he has to be a part of the delivery to the demise of maori seats, & special provision for maori.

Would it be that Winston does not want Seymour holding his feet to the fire on what he has said, so there is less chance of WP hiding behind the bluster?

    • winnie will be much easier to please then seymour.

hey winnie, heres a big sack of cash for shane to go blow again, yup heres a new race track and a few baubles…. done deal.

now do you think seymour will roll over that easy?

james shaw will be easily bought with a limo and large amounts of emission spewing flights around the world, he wont even have to push climate crap or emission reductions cuz luxon will do it anyways

i think luxon shouldve ruled him out when chippy did to tank winnies support, but now its dragged on this long if luxon bows down to media pressure it will be seen and portrayed as being very weak.
he missed the opportunity… something nz is going to have to get used to from pm luxtard. mind you labour havent exactly set a high standard to beat.

      • Worth considering where the voters that Labour has shed will end up. The Greens seem to have been the recipients of about half of them but it would be a massive step for your average tacked on Labour supporter to enter National’s embrace. The MSM by pigeonholing ACT as ‘far right’ has ensured that option is anathematic for them.

        Only leaves NZ First.

        • Your average Lairbour voter has worked out that a vote for the nats is going to be the same as a liarbour vote, so they will be voting for national to keep liabours policies. National have never ever changed any liarbour policy decisions ever.

  29. ‘Public Given Allowance To Voice Opinion On Bill To Lower Voting Age’
(Courtesy of The Daily Examiner NZ)

Apologies if this has been posted before, but it will no doubt be of interest.

As labour never does anything without good reason (And ALWAYS to it’s own advantage), it’s noticeable that submissions close six days AFTER the General election, presumably so that it will give chippy et al a chance to say that they have ‘The People’s Mandate’ to ignore whatever is submitted and introduce the necessary legislation – as they intended to do right from the start.

    This is merely window dressing.

  30. Dire Strait: Decision delayed on Interislander mega ferry terminal cost blow-out

KiwiRail wanted a decision from ministers on its “significantly more costly” mega ferry terminals by July, documents reveal, but the problem remains unresolved and there’s no promise it will be sorted out before the election.

A $551 million contract has already been signed with a South Korean shipyard to build two new mega ferries to replace Interislander’s ageing and increasingly unreliable fleet. They are due to arrive in 2025 and 2026.

But a final design for the landside infrastructure on either side of Cook Strait, including wharves, seawalls and new passenger terminal buildings, is yet to be confirmed.
