    • Their problem is that the land is worth more for housing and so they see the $ in that although they haven’t said so.
It would be interesting to see if the farm pays its way as well. Given the original land cost should be well absorbed then its not a hard to make a dollar.
As for the claim that meat consumption is going down, that’s simply not true. Meat is used in more products today than ever and if we stop killing then what are we going to replace that with in these products. Tallow being a good example. Like oil and its downstream products.

These people are brain dead lefties.
      But then its Christchurch.

Odds are that some developer is driving this. Green did ya say?
worse though is that like most school teachers they seem too have swallowed all the cool aid and want to eat bugs or rubbish of that kind.

    • Oh, what a bunch of hypocrites, are the Board and the School’s Head of Science, David Newsham-West. I see the students are wearing leather shoes. Don’t tell me that the leather came from sustainable animals. I also note the soles of the shoes are probably “synthetic”, made from oil, a sustainable natural product.

I hope the school uniform does not consist of a woolen jersey during the winter.

And these clowns are in charge of some of the country’s children. God help us.

    • It will become worse.
The Principal, “a useful idiot”, thinks he will be in control, but now he has opened a can of worms for even worse results.
To bear in mind how ruthlessly the system did over the Taihape School Farm.

…. 2018 …. The ministry broke its promise several years ago that the school would keep the 13-hectare farm the whole town helped set up in the 1990s. …..
      .
…… The farm should have been a school asset worth several million dollars, but instead has ended up in the Treaty landbank, owned by the government.
Bureaucrats told the Education Minister in 2017 they did not know the farm was being used by students – which was not true. …..

  1. Meanwhile the nasty arsehole Mallard is shitting ducks.
Political appointees should offer to resign, says former deputy PM

Political appointees are obliged to offer their resignations upon a change of Government, says former deputy prime minister Don McKinnon.

McKinnon will be offering his own resignation from the Defence Strategy Review, to which he was appointed by Labour’s Peeni Henare: “It’s the right thing to do”.

    https://www.thepost.co.nz/a/politics/350095154/political-appointees-should-offer-resign-says-former-deputy-pm?cx_testId=1&cx_testVariant=cx_1&cx_artPos=5&cx_experienceId=EXLK9YLJ8JM4&utm_content=end-of-article-test&cx_qa=true#cxrecs_s

Mallard trespassed Peters from Parliament Grounds during the 2022 occupation. Sources told The Post that action rankled Peters, and there could be repercussions were he to return to the portfolio.

The cost of the responding to Peters’ legal challenge of the trespass order included $45,651.73 the Speaker’s office spent on lawyers, and $9,791 in a settlement to cover Peters’ legal costs.

From Dublin, Mallard referred questions about his future back to MFAT head office in Wellington, with “nice try” his only comment.

    Sack that piece of shit.

    • No chance of a luxflake in hell will Mallard be sacked by the incoming ‘cut wasteful spending’ government.

      • Stand at attention, private.

When Helen Clark ascended to the leadership of Helengrad, Banskie pleaded with Aunty on his talkback show not to sack Jim Bolger as the Ambassador in Washington. Banksie’s stellar crawling allowed Bolger to see out his term of eating finger food and talking inanities.

Let’s leave Mallard where he is. He’s more suited to the culture of Northern Ireland. We don’t need or want him.

Oh, and private, if I ever catch you hiring ” Driving Miss Daisy” again to help with your morning 5km run, I will PT your arse until your prostate gland explodes.

        Dismissed!!

        • mallard is ambassador to Ireland.
Northern Ireland is part of UK and is under Phar Goff ambassador duties.

There is no animosity between Klarkenfuhrer and IRA (Irish Republican Arsehole) Bolger.
Bolger was appointed the First Chairman of Kiwirail.
Bolger sold off NZ rail real cheap to Fay Richwhite and co and A US RailCo.
Bolger said Government should not run rail.
But he was first in to be chairman of an underperforming goo-mint owned railco in 2008.
Bolger then appointed one of his catholic mates – a Jim Quinn – to be Ceo of Kiwirail. Quinn had zero rail experience and was never re-appointed CEO after a troublesome (but lucrative) one term .

Jim Bolger is an Irish Republican Arsehole.
Ronnie is very light on facts.

    • Viking, the problem is the quality of bureaucrats and people appointed to head up Government Departments. These people are mostly career pen pushers, have no idea what is happening out in the community, or what the community needs, or how to work as a conduit between what the people need and the Government, or how to deliver the best outcome for the dollar given to them.

Problem is, they are arse lickers not target seekers.

      • True that and I think that was her p;oint was, is it not. They need transformation, booting out the boot lickers , devolvingmore and more locally.

good example. Each school do thier own payroll. Use Smartly and get it done in no time. Get rid of the wage”structure that hamper principles everyday and get rid of the union that controls it. Only do that by devolving to tasks.

    • If we take the Education Ministry as an example. The number of Wellington staff increased by about 50% under Labour (according to Seymour) but we all know the achievement rates of the kids are falling , attendance rates are absolutely abysmal etc. The pruning shears need to come out as part of your transformation, Josie.

I’m sure there are plenty of other departments which can be viewed in the same way.

  3. I got stopped by the cops on my way home last night.

‘Do you know why we stopped you, Sir?’

‘Yeah. I was weaving all over the road.’

‘How much have you had to drink tonight, Sir?’

    ‘Oh, nothing.’

‘So why were you weaving all over the road, then?’

‘I live round here. I was just avoiding the fucking potholes.’

    • Speaking of potholes, I found the roads in Hokkaido to be in a worse state of repair than they were the last time I toured there in the last century. No potholes, but a lot of patches and cracks. Freeze-thawing really cracks the asphalt surface, and I suspect that the local governments are a little short of money up in the far north of Japan.
On the other hand, the absence of speed cameras and predatory police was a nice change from New Zealand. The speed limit on the open, empty roads in Hokkaido is 50 km/h. Everybody drives at 80 (safely). Nobody drives at 50, except for geriatric drivers in their little mini-trucks.

    • Returned from a trip down in the South Island this week. The roads down Westland and heading over to Otago we’re in the best shape. I said to the Mrs that there’s no potholes and I’m not used to that.

      • Brian, i agree. from hawea through to haast and all up the coast has great roads.
i put it down to not too many side roads to maintain so 90% of the effort and budget is on the main road.

ive noticed around the south island that any “scenic route” usually has very good road surface, detour off them however and youll either see endless road cones n signs or the wifes tits will be bouncing all over the place.

    • Some resealing has been carried out just north of Oamaru. Two Sundays ago there was Stop/Go as it had been for the previous couple of weeks. Last Sunday they had all gone but left behind a really big pot hole, at least a foot and a half to two feet long , 9 inches wide and fairly deep. This was in line with your right wheel line when driving.
I have no idea how that could possibly develop under a week to that extent, somewhere along the line quality control is sadly lacking.

The new Government will need to figure out how to turn around the performance of the public sector. It will need better ideas than “let’s just cut it”. If they want to transform the economy, they will have to transform government first.

Plans to build more stuff, reform health and education depend on a state capable of designing and implementing those policies effectively.

Targets are sensible but, alone, will not be enough. It will need to be frank about why the public sector has become so uneven at delivery and poor at developing ideas.

Therefore he despised the US Deep state; who went after him and promoted terr^^or!!ists in the region.

When they go on about the Kurds remember it was the English bastards at Versailles in 1919 who split the Kurds across 3 countries instead of giving them their own. It was the english that reneged on a deal to make Kuwait a province of Iraq in 1919.

    @CranmerWrites
Mediaworks has released its (heavily qualified) auditor’s opinion from PWC which casts doubt over the ability of the company to operate as a going concern. It highlights a stonking loss of $125.9m for the year ended Dec 2022. At that point current liabilities exceeded current assets by $19.4m (ie the company is balance sheet insolvent). PWC notes that “a material uncertainty exists that may cast significant doubt on the Group’s ability to continue as a going concern.” Very high probability that Mediaworks enters an insolvency process imminently. One of the Quadrant directors left the board in August.

The original teevee three company went under – forced out by goo-mint funded teevee one -in 6 months from start in Nov 1989.

The collapse in 2013 was to avoid an over $20 million tax bill.
They are tax dodgers.Started up again very soon after.
Split a few years back to radio and teevee..

The directors will be trading insolvently and personally liable for any debt, if this is the case.

  10. Hubby and I saw the GP today. I only went because he asked to see me before issuing ongoing prescriptions and hubby had a little health concern that turned out to be nothing. GP knows we weren’t jabbed, then asked if we’d had covid? He told us he’d been sick with covid for 15 days in a row and his wife had it, she took anti-virals then sick again when she finished the course. Both of them jabbed up wazoo.

He told us we were the healthiest people he’d seen all day.

I told the GP I am now on high dose Vit.D prescribed by my specialist after I asked for it. GP asked where I got the info so I put him onto the good Dr John Campbell’s videos. He might learn from Dr John the jabby is not ideal although I’m surprised if he doesn’t already know. Hubby now has a prescription for Vit.D. GP said maybe he needed to take some as well !!!

The govt won’t pay for Vit D blood test but your doctor can prescribe it to you.

  11. Does your Doctor believe in the duty of your individual care?

The public health system has become insidious, as it sways from side to side, following & swallowing whatever is the current flavour as it has done since the distance ages.
It always has been follow the science, and note that includes scientism as well as $money.

Realize that many Doctors have decided on their own volition, & in good conscience.
The Doctors work for the “body politic” .. which “regards the Doctor’s duty is to …. & the nation as prioritized over the Doctor’s duty to an individual”

I have written a little of this based on this video, and I am sure many can see the recent times & players of today.

Note how sometimes an official opposition can be allowed, so long as it does not over-reach.
Their initial small successes allowed much more “mission creep” over the years then.

So it would seem similar thoughts have been spoken in recent years, and certain laws have been eased up, to allow the system to cope, & other laws are still in place, that can made binding.
So it would seem a success to be built on, in this current age. 🙁
