  1. Yesterday’s coverage of the special votes showed the Masters wise choice of not ruling Winston out. If he had succumbed to pressure, especially from media, we MAY have been going back to the polls. Worse, Chippy may have buckled and reconsidered a coalition with NZ1.

The other wise move is Dave being first to break the ice with Winston. Winston has not replied. It would be advisable for Winston to respond soon. The public are in no mood for Winston playing games. The problem is Winston is old school and that means utu must be served in some form, no matter how long it takes. The media are finding that out at the moment.

We are not out of the woods yet. The final coalition draft I’m guessing will both please and infuriate voters on the right.

    • Winston does not trust Seymour. And quite rightly so. I don’t trust Seymour, and I always used to vote ACT. Even ‘dyed in the wool’ National voters who did two ticks National, are far more comfortable with Winston in a coalition than Seymour. ‘Arrogant jumped up jerk’ is a description I have heard more than once about Seymour. Some of those voters believe that Seymour may stay outside of cabinet and be a disruption and a stopper.

It is only the media that paint Winston as an egotistical ogre. On the balance of probabilities Winston, Seymour, and Luxon will all know people killed or injured by the vaccine. Anyone in power that is in vaccine death / vaccine injury denial has (a) Drunk the WEF Koolaid, or (b) is in permanent fear and crapping their pants at the thought of what will happen of they speak out or (c) are speaking out.

Luxon is most likely an (a), Winston a (c), and I’ll let you decide if Seymour is an underpants soiler. But he is not an (a) and not a (c).

Seymour’s narrative is “don’t talk about the war, don’t talk about vaccine injuries or death”. He almost has a ‘cool as a cucumber’ suppressed panic about him

Winston is playing it cool. Getting everyone in the room together so that there are no secret meetings and no side play. Open and transparent, no deception, no back stabbing, no bullshit.

      Go Winston.

Why would anything change this time around?
Like I said before the election. What’s in it for Winnie. That is all that matters.

      • ”Winston does not trust Seymour. And quite rightly so. I don’t trust Seymour, and I always used to vote ACT.”

You disappoint me, Dylan. Not voting for ACT is a retrograde step for a person of intelligence. To be fair, if there was a Libertarian Party, I wouldn’t be wasting my time with ACT.

”Even ‘dyed in the wool’ National voters who did two ticks National, are far more comfortable with Winston in a coalition than Seymour.”

True. Winston is a true Conservative. He’s old school National. And National folk expect the baubles of office to be translated into their private lives. ACT lean more towards Libertarianism( but they aren’t Libertarians). That means no baubles of office, quango appointments and old boys and girls clubs. You want cigars and brandy, pay for it yourselves.

”It is only the media that paint Winston as an egotistical ogre.”

Not quite true. But it is true Winston in real life is nothing like the media portray him. Met him at one of his rallies. A potent speaker and master of hecklers.

”Seymour’s narrative is “don’t talk about the war, don’t talk about vaccine injuries or death”. He almost has a ‘cool as a cucumber’ suppressed panic about him.”

That may be because vaccines and wars are yesterday’s news to Dave, just like they are to most NZers. When we fixate on an issue, the whole world configures to that issue. I fixate on Muslims. I have to continually break that bubble and try to find reasoned responses when talking about them. Otherwise I would go down the track of the racist rants we get on this blog about Maori. It’s not easy do do I must admit.

”Winston is playing it cool. Getting everyone in the room together so that there are no secret meetings and no side play. Open and transparent, no deception, no back stabbing, no bullshit.”

Let’s hope that’s true. Winston has no choice but to act like that. In fact all three players are in a straight jacket to some degree so it behoves them to play it straight.

        • That may be because vaccines and wars are yesterday’s news to Dave, just like they are to most NZers.

The death toll is climbing. Injuries are climbing.
It is today’s news, it is just that the media are not saying so. Stop drinking the media Koolaid. Take the red pill and wake up.

  3. The attack below on anyone not on the extreme authoritarian left is similar to many other rants I have seen from Jews. Even as leftists riot and protest in the streets for the destruction of Israel and Jews. Top leftist universities being among the worse. This is resulting in physical violence against Jews around the world. Yet they are still promoting mass Muslim immigration for every white country and extreme left totalitarianism.

This my friends is why people have turned on Jews everywhere they have appeared in numbers and influence. Not because they are Jews but because of their conduct and the damage they do. Anti semitism is like islamaphobia – a fake condition made up to avoid the real issue of them being judged by their actions not their religion. Countries that have taken the strongest action to protect themselves from Jews are the same ones that once welcomed “gods chosen ones” {self declared] and allowed them to prosper.

Jewish culture needs to address their leftist totalitarian streak. If they can hear themselves think over the shrieking of triggered meat puppets babbling about the holocaust and other tired memes, when ever the issue is raised.

If you want Jewish votes, don’t pander to the far-right while you cheer for Israel

    • The best thing that could happen in that whole region would be an iranian nuclear accident.. there are obviously too many people living there for the resources available so something will have to give.

      6

      1

      • Dougal
what harm has an Iranian ever done to you?
what harm has a Russian ever done to you?
what harm has a Syrian ever done to you?
what harm has an Iraqi ever done to you?

Be wary of following war monger propaganda.

In the US it is much worse. The propaganda is omni present .
that is why there are people there who opt out; go bush; off grid, etc
It is actually not so bad here .
But lots of people succumb to propaganda as we saw with convid.
It looks like you have as well.

It was the US who did the coup in Iran in 1953 to overthrow the elected leader- as They have done in more than 70 countries.
The US is the only country to have dropped atom bombs on a civilian population.
        More than once.
no other country ever has; in 80 years.
Despite the MSM sabre rattling and eternal lies.

The Iranians chucked them out in 1979. As is their right. THE US backed Shah that is.
US and UK immediately stole all their overseas assets. Billions of dollars in 1979 dollar value.
Now I tend to find Iranian women rather crazy. Golriz G as one example. There was a reality teevee Iranian woman of high profile in NZ about 10 years ago called Naz. Mad as.
But this is not reason to hate on a race of people. The Persians in this case.
They have their ways that are different from or own.

Libya kept church and state separate.
Islam was the official religion but it was not integrated to the State.
In Iran the Church is the State .
I dont agree but it in not my country .
Remember when all these overseas people esp Australians were telling us 3 years ago how wonderful our young and vibrant PM ardern was,…
        I do remember. I hated it .
It was not up to overseas people to tell us how we should think .

Why should we tell Iranians how to think or behave. Most of what you hear is propaganda by war mongers.
US has wanted to get back at at Iran since 1979.
Currently US wants war with the 90 million people of Iran and to tell them how to think and dress as they did after the coup of 1953 .

Libya kept the Religion and State separate, They had free healthcare for all (unlike USA) and had higher literacy than the USA (probably NZ as it is now as well)
And still it was destroyed by the US with help from England and France.

        Fuck your warmongers Dougal.
        Leave Iran alone.
They traded with NZ when England told us to fuck off in 1972.

    • Good to see you not on the meth like last Sunday, Kea
Or was it dehydration from a mountain run??!!

The second para I largely agree with but lets stay away from the term anti-semitism. That is for the uneducated and is an emotive term that has been stolen.
It is like people who use the term ‘decimate’ to describe annihilation.
annihilation is from Latin Nihil = Nil. Nothing left. Decimation is removal of a mere 10% of the population. Deci = ten
The term decimate was used a lot in early 2023 to describe flood damage in various places. In fact the damage was far more than 10% in prescribed locations. But that is MSM for you.

About 80% of the people of Jewish faith are from Caucasian or East European origins. Religious converts. Like Ivanka Trump.
Madeline Albright; Kirk Douglas; George Soros; Tony Curtis; Robert/Ghislaine Maxwell are East Euro convert descendent jews all with changed names.
They are not Semites. To dislike their actions is not to be anti-Semite at all. They are not Semites.

You start off OK, birdy, then in the third para resort to the meat puppet chant.
This is what Penny Bright used to do.
Put up a valid argument, then abuse the audience.
      Duh.

        • Penny B was OK when you spoke to her one on one.
          Without the hyperbole.

She did have a large database of info.
You cant deny her commitment to events .
She was honest- to a fault.
Which is more than you can say for the politicians she opposed .
She made me aware of the complete fakeness of so called Transparency International.

and yes, she could make her point then keep going, too far, and lose the room.

          Standing for mayor many times

  4. I am trying to get my kids not to go farming after hundreds and hundreds of years of it being the family job . The next 50 years of life with the socialist crap going on ,would be well served by having a highly mobile career choice that will allow them to move regularly and easily and not be tied to a piece of dirt in one country. The other thing is 50% of the country who voter lab, green and tpm hate you.

    12

    • I remember my eldest brother telling me say 60 years (he had by then taking over the family farm) not to go into farming as there was no future in it and too hard to get into it. Since that time his two sons are very successful farmers and land owners themselves around Rakaia, one now buying a farm for his son in Central Otago. One daughter married into a very successful farming family.
Was he right – don’t really think so but In have seen the corporation of the old family sized farms and the continual bureaucratic interference in the running of the owners land.

        • Selling PPE to a govt for a fake covid scam. Better than a Nigerian Prince scam.

A 1% backhander would buy you a farm. A 30% profit margin buys a lot of Labour votes and Labour loyalty.

          Who profited?

          Follow the money!

And now you know why people are still in denial. They are in the shit balls deep.

“Jesus Frank. You can’t be commenting on Facebook about Covid being a scam. If they trace it back to us, it will question the legitimacy of the PPE sales. Holy crap, a future govt might ask us to pay back the $250,000,000. It’s all spent on my yacht and your Ferrari. My holiday home in the Caymen’s and your villa in France. My wife’s boob job and your kid’s private schooling. Not to mention the nanny.”

    • The item was bought during the pandemic to keep us safe……. Hahahahaha what a freaking joke. All those jabbed have been so ill with the covid, it’s a laugh a minute. Sorry/not sorry they deserve it for keeping away from unjabbed people like me who were out to kill their grandmothers etc evil for not getting it. All those who succumbed to the single voice of truth get F**KED it was a total farce. It made the coffers of those administering it richer, even the nurses were paid at least $50 an hour to jab people, then there were all the others surrounding the tents special people of course. How much did they get paid?????? Maori were the biggest winners of the pandemic they received a truck load of money for their premises for jabbing people and because they are special people of course. Politicians received lots of $$$$$$$ for their keeping quiet, so imagine how much the whole thing really cost us all. I hope that Winston and his party parliamentarians have an enquiry into the whole thing and let the single source of truth believers know it was a farce to end all farces.
Keep safe people and have a great day.

        • How many would be triggered by hearing the words NSA.

Not NSA as in National Security Agency, but NSA as in Numbered Swiss Account.

When you put people with greedy dispositions, into positions of trust, overseeing squillions of dollars, the temptation is too much. Socialists, Communists, Fascist, Tyrants all have greedy dispositions.

Altruistic redistribution of wealth is underpinned with the idea that they alone can determine who is deserving of other peoples money, i.e. theft and therefore always accompanied by skimming.

          7

      • ”All those jabbed have been so ill with the covid.”

Those type of statements give promoters of vaccines the license to call anti vaxxers nutters.

”Maori were the biggest winners of the pandemic they received a truck load of money.”

I personally didn’t. But over the course of the pandemic I received two boxes of products to help with illness. I valued each box at over $200 each

        Sorry about that.

        • A doctorial statement told to me.

My Doctor told me that if I had Covid, and had any problems he said the only treatment he would give me was Remdesivrir, & if I did not respond to that, then onto a ventilator.

Then a new antiviral also under an EUA Paxlovid became a available, & though far from perfect, seems to not have any major side effects.

I figure rightly or wrongly, the Covid Commission will not look into the dosage of remdesivrir as treatment for Covid either.
They should look at all the treatments possible.

To note how contentious it was it then echoed on the Emergency Use Approval EUA
          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remdesivir

As covid vaxx was on a Phase 3 trial as an experimental, only gaining an EUA, then surely the real duty of care, should have all participants fully recorded, and fully monitored.
Then though the data may be anonymized it then should be available to all independent analysts to consider & see if there are any patterns, good or bad.
          If not? Why not?

      • Lizzie, I was talking to a Maori mate and a fellow workmate, on Wednesday, about exactly this great waste and how Maori had been manipulated over COVID. His opinion, from a thoughtful ordinary hard working Maori was that Maori had been manipulated greatly by the Maori Elite and Government. His opinion was that the Maori Elite had hugely enriched themselves and had allowed the Government to put the fear that Maori were lesser beings, more susceptible to COVID than Honky and would die as a result. In his opinion, this has not happened and that the wool had been well and truly pulled over Maori eyes and that Maori will not allow Government to manipulate them or New Zealanders again in this manner, well not for the next 2 generations at least. His opinion was the Government has tried to scare Maori and New Zealanders with SAR’s, Monkey Pox, AID’s Avian Flu, and countless other viruses and epidemics.

He may be right, but Government and the WHO / UN will try again probably sooner than later.

        • Well the Maori voted this time to not back lying liebour.
There is 6 from 6 Special Maori Only seats that went to the Maori party.
A 300% swing against liebour and its behaviour

          Either
Something about the radical behaviour of the Two hats made the voting maori people back Te Pati Maori
          or,
they have been so repelled by liebour and the elite Rsole group within the Liebour cabinet that they rejected them
I am not sure which but the ousting of Nanaia Mahoota is a big clue that there is major dissatisfaction.

I spent two dollars and had a play with them, my Mango tested positive as did a fizzy drink, I binned the fizzy and ate the Mango, what complete and utter bullshit the entire world has been fed, and it is still going on.

          • Yep, whatever the RAT tests did, they were not testing for Covid. As no lab, including those that created the RAT tests, actually have a full isolated Covid DNA sequence sample.

And multiple tests on the same person gives multiple outcomes.

“Fuck Jimmy, your positive, now your not, now your positive, now your not. Jesus Jimmy you have the Car Indicator Covid Virus.”

And probably why Medsafe didn’t bother to test or certify the RAT tests. A back street fortune teller would probably be more reliable in telling if you have “Covid”.

RAT tests – actually a WOW test – a “Week Off Work” test, paid for by the govt. Another Labour election bribe. The cost of RAT tests, along with other things, should have been added to the Labour Party electioneering expenses total.

            Pure and utter bullshit.

    • The first casualty when war comes is truth
      —————————
      We don’t really know
We do know that MSM has been lying profusely about the Ukraine -Russian conflict.

We know there was was massive government propaganda on the US War of aggression against The people of Vietnam. That is when I gave up on tee vee so called gnews 50 years ago.
I could see on the one goo-mint channel available it was massive propaganda and truth was among the victims.

Remember back when Goo-mint controlled the teevee; and radio was government controlled only. It was illegal in the 1960s to have private radio even for playing music.
Freedom of information has seldom been a thing.
      —————
When a non goo-mint teevee station was opened in 1989 -tv3- the goo-mint station people used a taxpayer monies war chest of $26 million (1989 dollars) to knock it off the air.
In 6 months it was in its first receivership. It was brought to heel.
I refuse to ever watch the teevee scum aka tv1. It is vile.
I was at a networking function about 6 years ago. There was teevee-scum executive wanker there. I told him
your station of just coronation street and fake gnews.
He spilt his drink over his shirt as apoplexy took over.
      ——————-
So there will be lots of stories about the Middle east. Less than a quarter will be true.

    • Fucking Ragheads. And yet here we bend over backwards to appease them. Look the Mosque killings were grotesque. However, there have been massacres of innocent people in religious settings all over the place, and mostly perpetrated by Ragheads. My patience is wearing thin. I don’t agree with Israel indiscriminately bombing civilians, just Bomber Harris and the yanks should maybe have been charged with war crimes, (as well as any other commander that knowingly targeted civilians, the list is too long to report here), but the eradication of every Hamas fighter will only be a good thing. Lastly who knows what is truth coming out of that hell hole. We have a far better idea of the truth in the Ukranian conflict, but even that is often iffy.

    • I notice on the side of that page that Roger Fox Big and was turned down for partial funding to go to the 2024 Jazz Educational Network (JEN) Conference in New Orleans. They wanted $89,000 out of a budget of $182,000.
Now, while that (to me) seems a lot, the grants by Creative NZ so far this year have included
$47,400 for the rehearsal for two people for two new comedy solo shows about growing up outside of te ao maori in cults…
$74,345 – towards a programme of Cubbin works for children under 5 in Otautahi Christchurch (yeah, no idea)
$67,749 – towards a joint application for Sione Tuivailala Monū and Edith Amituanai to travel to Samoa, with cinematographer Ralph
$50,000 – towards a National community arts project celebrating the rainbow of diversity created by NZ Youth through monochromatic photos
$46,770 – towards a choreographic/digital interarts development addressing queer notions of reproduction (ye gods!)

Perhaps jazz isn’t maori or queer enough?

        • H, Mr Fox maybe a star and certainly Quincy Conserve was one of the great Bands to come out of this country, but from personal experience in a business I was a Director of, Mr Fox and money had serious compatibility problems. I also know from personal experience that Eldred Stebbing, of this country’s oldest Recording Studios fame, Stebbing Recording Studios in Auckland, would not have Mr Fox in the door with out having Fox’s cash in his hand and Eldred counting it many times over and holding every dollar note up to the light to see the watermark, such was Mr Fox’s dealing in money so dodgy.

I would suggest Creative New Zealand and Mr Fox have had dealings before, hence CNZ reticence to even partially fund Fox’s Band to New Orleans.

He is has never been a great performer ( the finance outfits he is involved with) and as a self promoter he gets favourable publicity from the inept MSM who are financially illiterate (or why else would they have supported the massive debt hole created by liebour in the last 3 years, with such vigour)

Riding down the hill yesterday I come across 2 of them. They missed the corner. Straight over the barrier and down the side of the rocky incline. Upon closer inspection, he was dead, and madam was unconscious after headbutting a large tree. Oh dear. 🤔
An unpleasant start to Huntys day. (and before you ask, no I didn’t cop a look, I covered her in my raincoat). Ambulance arrived, quite quickly I must say, and I moved on…

    • The patu strike will come soon for Willie. The truth is white Labour find Maori a millstone around their necks. Maori should just be there to make up the numbers… and not demanding and receiving tailored policy for their own benefit.

      • Labour enjoyed the welded on support of Maori since Labour were first elected to government in 1935 largely through their alliance with the Ratana church. Every three years the dutiful Uncle Toms would be elected, go on the sauce at Bellamys & do absolutely fuck all for their people. No-one really knew why Maori backed Labour…….they just did, okay?

          • The Ratana political movement got going in 1923 but didn’t get an MP into the House until 1932. The second followed in the 1935 election coinciding with the 1st Labour Government. Labour had a 37 seat majority so certainly didn’t have to chase the Maori MPs.

……..”Following the formation of the First Labour Government in 1935, the two Rātana MPs agreed to vote with Labour. This alliance was formalised with the Rātana movement joining the Labour Party in a meeting between Rātana and Prime Minister Michael Savage on 22 April 1936. The Prime Minister was given four symbolic gifts: a potato, a broken gold watch, a pounamu hei-tiki, and a huia feather. The potato represented loss of Māori land and means of sustenance, the broken watch represented the broken promises of the Treaty of Waitangi, and the pounamu represented the mana of the Māori people. If Savage could restore these three, he would earn the right to wear the huia feather to signify his chiefly status. The gifts were regarded as so precious they were buried with Savage at his state funeral in 1940″……

            • Good, you know your history,

And do you think Maori seats are still an anachronism to Labour? Or can they do without them. Much like National does? But National did include the Maori Party under Key… but only as buffer,

              • The Maori seats were only ever intended to be temporary to introduce the natives to the concept of Westminster government.

If they are going to be permanently attached to Labour because of tradition rather than reason they should go. The fact that they are swinging between TMP & the woke, socialist no-hopers suggest that they are useful to Maori.

Yet as they stand they are a seven seat handbrake that any centre right coalition has to climb over.

An anachronism or a vehicle for Maori advancement? I don’t know.

        • To wear a black with white tipped huia feather that was decimated for the privilege of wearing that feather. “precious plumes, worn by people of high rank”.
          Last sighted in1907
Symbolic of the supposed return of the huia too ???
Now a days 1 of those feathers would fetch $8,000 dollars.

NZ First did clean sweep the Maori seats in the 1996 elections and those maoris were known as the “Tight Five” for 1 term.
It was thought that Winston Peters was going to go with Labour, but he had them double back to support the National Bolger government.

          • Yep, yep that is what is !
Nigh on 40% of New Zealand was burnt over by the the time of Captain Cook arrived.

….. difficult to separate the effects of climate change and anthropogenic activities on past fire regimes .
In New Zealand, however, the arrival of Polynesians (Māori) at c. AD 1280 had a profound influence
            on New Zealand ecosystems.
Palaeoecological records show that both islands of New Zealand were extensively forested
before human settlement , but by the time of European arrival in the mid-nineteenth century,
up to 40% of the forest had been lost .
The age of the earliest dated archaeological sites is associated with numerous faunal extinctions,
evidence of the introduced Pacific rat (Rattus exulans) and evidence of widespread deforestation.
Unprecedented levels of charcoal particles in palaeoecological records dating to this time
point to anthropogenic burning as the cause of forest loss.
Although over 150 pollen records from New Zealand show this association between fire,
arrival of people and vegetation change, questions still remain with respect to the timing,
            pattern and …

            https://www.academia.edu/7105331/Rapid_deforestation_of_South_Island_New_Zealand_by_early_Polynesian_fires

For some reason all the tree burning is heaped onto other later settlers,
when a lot of land was manuka, tussock & a hell of lot of fern.

I do not believe any maori put out a fire, where it was volcanic, lightning or from one of the maori fires.
A maori fire might go out, lack of fuel, but if it spread, so be it.

And so man kept on, but then again it was no problem to sell the land,
and receive the full amount value of it at the time & then councils/government demand rates/taxes,
so the land had to be put into into some form of production to make a return.
The council were expected to set up roads. Rates
Government to set up schools. Taxes.

            • ……”I do not believe any maori put out a fire, where it was volcanic, lightning or from one of the maori fires.”…….

In the Wairarapa the local Ngati Kahungunu fired the coastal forest deliberately to deny cover to invading war parties from the North & West. If they could see them coming they had time to head up to Heretaunga or Wairoa where their cousies would protect them.

I will need to check that it doesn’t sound right by a long shot.

You also aren’t mentioning the impact of settlers who practiced pastural farming. Pastoral faming requires deforestation and wetland drainage.

  12. Is Davos Dave pissy now Winston included in coalition?

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2023/11/act-s-david-seymour-says-logical-possibility-of-party-sitting-on-crossbenches.html
David Seymour has not ruled out ACT sitting on Parliament’s crossbenches instead of entering a coalition with National and NZ First.

“That is still a logical possibility. We reserve the right to represent our voters and do what we see is being best for New Zealand, and that can have a number of different ways of fitting together,” Seymour told host Simon Shepherd.

A man with a 10-page criminal record of appalling violence, including rape, must be released from prison within the next three months despite being considered “a very high risk of reoffending”.

William Spring Tawhai, 56, is in jail for wounding an ex-partner with intent to injure and two charges of assault on a person in a family relationship.

  14. *WHEN A FLY FALLS INTO A CUP OF COFFEE . . .*
( from Telegram , the current war explained)

“*The Italian –* throws the cup, breaks it, and walks away in a fit of rage.

*The German –* carefully washes the cup, sterilizes it and makes a new cup of coffee.

*The Frenchman –* takes out the fly, and drinks the coffee.

*The Chinese –* eats the fly and throws away the coffee.

*The Russian –* Drinks the coffee with the fly, since it was extra with no charge.

*The Israeli –* sells the coffee to the Frenchman, sells the fly to the Chinese, sells the cup to the Italian, drinks a cup of tea, and uses the extra money to invent a device that prevents flies from falling into coffee.

*The Palestinian –* blames the Israeli for the fly falling into his coffee,
protests the act of aggression to the UN,
takes a loan from the European Union to buy a new cup of coffee,
uses the money to purchase explosives and then blows up the coffee house
where the Italian, the Frenchman, the Chinese, the German and the Russian are all trying to explain
to the Israeli that he should give away his cup of coffee to the Palestinian so there will be peace.”
