              Nah, neither have I.

              • It was an agreement between the Ananu and the National Park at handback. The Ananu requested it stop in 1985, but agreed that when less than 20% of visitors climb the rock the climb will be closed instead. They support some of the tourism around here and are learning western skills and trades (cleaners, waiters, etc) but still live in a reasonable amount of poverty. Self-inflicted to a degree, as many still live in their old ways, but wearing western clothes.

            • All the climbs. Partly because it is sacred, partly due to the deaths each year, parrly to preserve it because tourists do tend to fuck things up if left unrestrained.

Imagine, some paintings are lost because tourists threw water on them to make the colours more vivid for photos.

    • I like the look too, except that on my phone the caption to the picture doesn’t show on the main page so it loses a little bit of impact for the casual reader.

Is it absolutely necessary to change our passwords? Can we not leave them as they are?

    • Very good Ed.

I wonder if you can increase the number in “recent comments”.

This is more important as nesting comments, makes one have to search more if one can not check on “recent comments”.
I find “recent comments” of value, as otherwise one has to check through all the comments to find newer comments and so becomes more time consuming, particularly as hoped for, that there will be many more comments.

  6. It is ok as this is not white supremacy.
It is ok if it can just be called “general bullying”.

    https://www.theage.com.au/national/victoria/jewish-boys-taunted-in-anti-semitic-bullying-at-melbourne-schools-20191003-p52xen.html

“filmed, photographed and shared on social media”. but not on school grounds.
“While school staff were not able to substantiate that any negative interactions were anti-Semitic in nature, on the basis of those investigations, school staff identified an incident that involved children laughing at [the boy],”

    koran (3:110) Mohsin Khan (translation):-
You [true believers in Islamic Monotheism, and real followers of Prophet Muhammad SAW and his Sunnah (legal ways, etc.)] are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind; you enjoin Al-Ma’ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam has ordained) and forbid Al-Munkar (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden), and you believe in Allah. And had the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) believed, it would have been better for them; among them are some who have faith, but most of them are Al-Fasiqun (disobedient to Allah – and rebellious against Allah’s Command).

If it is called out for what it is, then would it be called demonizing immigrants? and we need lessons in how to be more welcoming and tolerant, so as to enjoy the cultural enrichment.

  8. Another example of Labour politics the penalizes those that pay their Bill’s and don’t have a bad credit rating. I pay by direct credit and have never had my power disconnected but now I lose my bonuses because the Government need to keep helping the poor who want help themselves.Barry Soper has this right that power price will increase for the middle income earners through this stupid Government. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12273488
This Government is not about New Zealanders it’s all about getting votes and remaining in power at the expense of those that pay tax and receive no handouts.

    • I fail to see what the hell they are doing happychappy? I can only be at a disadvantage as I am the same pay direct credit and get a so called discount. I hate this COL with a passion.

      0

      0

    • I use smoothpay it averages at around $30 a week and the account usually has a few hundy in reserve for the higher usage in winter which alway included the prompt payment discount now we get penalised for being diligent and being a contributing member of society these pricks won’t be happy until the ferals have everything we have worked our asses off for, Fuck you Labour & your mongoloid voting base

      0

      0

    • I have been quite OK with paying the power bill on time and getting a prompt payment discount.

I may be thick in that I simply do not understand what Megan Woods issue is with that. I do not waste cash on booze, shagging, or fast foods thus can afford to have lights and the heater on when necessary. Old fashioned values leave me wanting to pay accounts owing when due.

My view, Minister Woods is wasting her time and our money. The power companies do not need her telling them how to run their businesses. I would be more than irritated if I was a share holder and the government is setting up to interfere in the business.

  10. I find the big black and red boxes with the reverse script at the top of the home page a bit heavy handed, design wise.

Reverse text is generally thought to be harder to read than dark-on-light and for this reason designers usually reserve it for one or two word attention grabbers (like ‘Sale’ or ‘Coming soon’ etc).

I think the reverse text boxes detract from an otherwise cool design. Just saying…..

p.s. How about black and red text on a very light grey background?

The man who killed four policemen in Paris yesterday was a recent convert to which religion?

        • There are zero French colonies that are first world.
Contrast that with the Brits: NZ, AU, Canada ….

The French took more slaves to the Caribbean than the Brits took to mainland USA – which Britain controlled for most of the time slaves were transported there.
You probably wont hear that from MSM or Hollyweirdland.

          0

          0

          • Weren’t the slaves that inhabit the Caribbean those that were too sick to continue the boat trip to the USA? Seem to remember reading they were left behind as seen as too weak to make the rest of the journey.

            0

            0

            • No there were three distinct countries bringing slaves across the Atlantic to the ‘new world’
              France, Britain, and Spain.
This was to the Caribbean islands.
They did not swap around and were often at war with each other.

USA was not formed until 1776 at the Declaration of Independence and 10 more years before it began to be operational.
The Caribbean islands were not far from the southern tip of USA although prior to 1800 when most of the slave trade occurred Louisiana was still French and at 1776 – the year the American Revolution began and went on for a few years – there were only 13 Brit colonies in the USA.

There is huge misinformation spread about the reality.
Also, slaves cost money so were an investment. There is more disinformation about cruelty when in fact they needed them strong and healthy for the hard work. Revisionist shit misleads.
Casual labour from Britain, Germanic states, and Italy for example were treated far worse than the slaves were.

There were 4 million African slaves – of 12 million in total in the trans Atlantic transfer- that were taken to Brazil by Portugal.
Only one tenth that number – less than 400,000 were taken to USA mainland.
Despite all the revisionist shit about slavery less than 400,000 of 12 million trans Atlantic slaves went to USA – 3% -and the vast majority was under the British who ruled until 1776.

Slave transfer died off pretty rapidly early in the 1800s as opposition grew.
Don’t rely on the pussy grabbers of Hollyweird or the MSM to deliver any facts on these matters.

  13. I’ve got to say that picture at the top of Wile E. Coyote realising the cliff has snapped and he is done for is not a great parallel to the PT PM. You can see awareness in Wile E. Coyote’s eyes. Awareness of impending doom is not something Cindy is capable of. Hence we are watching the COL disintergrate like watching a slow motion car crash. Cindy thinks her lies are covering all the crevasses splitting under the COL’s bad policy and their inept and corrupt behaviour. The voters are not mushrooms who enjoy being covered in bullshit.

  14. https://www.stuff.co.nz/southland-times/southland-top-stories/116306933/agriculture-minister-oconnor-under-fire-at-gore-meeting
While he told the crowd the one thing the Government needed to front up to was how banks were treating farmers at the moment, it wasn’t long before a heckler said it was O’Connor’s Government that was driving the equity out of farmer’s balance sheets.
To which he replied: “Get over it. Get over it … I don’t accept that for a moment.”
“Clutha-Southland MP Hamish Walker said, “it was again disappointing that yet again officials couldn’t answer basic questions raised from the floor and farmers who are trying to seek clarity were still left with giant question marks.”
And this clown show still dont seem to grasp why this great country is going backwards at a rapid rate of knots

    0

        • Well I don’t want to heap too much praise on Jamie McKay because he is in to the climate change bs but he did tackle O’Connor on the new water regulations and had a robust discussion with him.He followed up with Nathan Guy when it would have been preferable to hear Todd Mullers response.
          So a ‘robust’ interview.

  15. This is how a leader speaks to the lying, whoring media

At a press conference with the PM of Finland a Jim Acosta wannabe (how sad is that -aspiring to be like Jim Acosta is like aspiring to be catshit) decides it’s the right time to ask about the Ukraine investigation.

A justifiably angry Trump roasts him (NB it’st the second clip)

You don’t indulge these assholes, you don’t act politely, they have lost any pretence of integrity, they act like spoilt nasty children – you have to slap them down and call them what they are – corrupt!

  19. Immigration Minister Iain Lees-Galloway dumps National Party’s refugee quota policy
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2019/10/immigration-minister-iain-lees-galloway-dumps-national-party-s-refugee-quota-policy.html

“Immigration Minister Iain Lees-Galloway said the Government will remove the former National-led Government’s requirement for quota refugees from Africa and the Middle East to have family already in New Zealand.

“We are proud to be a welcoming and inclusive nation committed to supporting some of the world’s most vulnerable people to rebuild their lives and thrive in New Zealand,” the minister said Friday. “

  20. The old open door policy in action in Sweden, NZ is destined for the same fate.

When it comes to refugees, [U.N. Secretary-General Antonio] Guterres praised Sweden for being “absolutely exemplary” and said Europe had failed to provide support by taking coordinated action to ensure equal distribution in the area.

“Instead, Europe was totally unable to find solidarity for this kind of integrated European solution. There was no European solution. As there was no solidarity at all, two countries, Sweden and Germany have essentially been the ones receiving the overwhelming majority of the refugees, which is absolutely unfair, which doesn’t make any sense.”

About 13 percent of the population in Sweden experience problems in their own residential areas with crime, violence or vandalism. It is one of the highest proportions in Europe.” By comparison, the other Nordic countries were placed among the countries with the lowest percentage of the population who experience such problems….” — Statistics Sweden, April 25, 2019.

Swedes are on the move. Problems in many municipalities are prompting Swedes to leave for other areas with fewer socioeconomic problems. The issue has recently gained the attention of the Swedish mainstream media.

    0

    0

    • Your talk of municipalities has a different meaning and understanding after taking in this video, and from that a better understanding.

As posted by “Alice” the other day.
“Be like Sweden” might not be the best example these days.
This is in Swedish with sub titles but is worth watching.
      It is a dire warning:
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZGDWgsaDlE&t=1431s
      32 mins 43 secs.

Take your time, stop and repeat if necessary.
This guy really opens up on the Swedish system.

and as I wrote late last night.
This guy is like how a professor should be, and strips bare and indepth what is happening in Sweden and with his own background and experience.
The path of the politics in turning into an islamic state, and how it is harnessing the socialist identity politics, feminist reasoning, the tightening up on ‘freedom of speech’, police issues, immigration, and the escalating emigration flight, increasing immigration, taxes, welfare state etc..
He brings up many points in the symptoms and signs, and how the politics of “double pincer movements” are pushing the speed of this.

As he points out, many countries will be falling unwittingly into this deep quicksand, as so far the consequences are not allowed to be discussed.

      0

      0

      • Yes I agree, and I will watch the video when I get a bit more time.
Sweden wanted to virtue signal to Europe and is now paying the price.
The Swedes are voting with their feet and the country is destined to become more of a cot case than it has aspired to be.
Those European countries that have resisted the tidal wave of “refugees” have attracted a lot of criticism from the “woke” but at least they are not facing the Swedish problem.

        0

        0

    • I do not wish to see New Zealand follow Sweden. That is an inter generational shambles where the Swedes and their present culture seems doomed to be overtaken by an invading religious ideology.

Minister Galloway and his words do not find acceptance with me. Tough luck for the refugees but they need to sort it out in their own countries. Accepting people from already over populated and badly governed parts of the world is not a solution. Minister Galloway is out of touch on this matter as he seems to be on others.

I’ll be taking my MAGA hat again!

    0

    0

    • That point of view, MAGA, needs to be shown, as example of cutting through all this relativism that hides truths.

We and many more must be the ones to hold to truth, not multi cultural, diversity, relativism where truth is twisted and kept hidden by academia, media, politicians.

Truth can seem to be hurtful, but truth can be the balm, that acts as an antidote.
Truth served with love, not stepping back, but also backing ourselves.

So hold firm, to truth, free speech, not feelings. 🙂

The ruling comes despite a clinical psychologist submitting expert evidence to the hearing suggesting the 36-year-old, referred to as ‘JB’, represents a “moderate risk” of sexual offending, particularly in respect of vulnerable individuals, and can neither understand a woman’s consent is fundamental in sexual situations, nor engaging in non-consensual sexual activity is a criminal offence.

  28. Samuels said his client’s offending had been influenced by her desire to comply with tikanga Māori, supported by a cultural report, while the pre-sentence report had understated the defendant’s remorse.

The offending, involving more than $111,000, was between 2012 and 2015 while Shepherd worked for CCS Disability Action as regional manager of the Hononga Rawhiti region. They involved unauthorised spending on accommodation, cash withdrawals, credit card buys, flights, rental cars and petrol.

The offending, and the laying of charges, predates her appointment as academy director for the Sweet As trade training course run by Kaitaia’s He Korowai Trust, where, according to the trust’s website yesterday, she is the deputy chief executive.

A couple of months home detention would be about par for the course. Expect an appeal against sentence.

    • From Maggy’s link:

…..” “If women don’t go to the police with their complaints against clerics, it’s difficult for the authorities to act.””……

Why would they when under Sharia law they’re odds on to end up stoned to death!

Shakespeare recognised the effects religious morality & double standards have on authority when he wrote, “the policeman who lashes the whore has a hot need to use her for the very offense for which he plies the lash”.

Islam took the sickness to a whole new level.

      • I don’t recall Shakespeare writing about a policeman… (weren’t they invented post Shakespeare?). It’s a Beadle King Lear is addressing.

“Why dost thou lash that whore? Strip thine own back; Thou hotly lust’st to use her in that kind For which thou whipp’st her.

(I have a feeling that we must have rushed through this bit of King Lear in my 7th Form English.)

        • Full marks Maggy! You sent this poorly educated retired cocky to Google in a panic in case I’d misquoted. I had been referring to a piece in Christopher Hitchens’, “God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything.

          The original read:

……”“Lear, “… There thou mightst behold the great image of authority: a dog’s obey’d in office. – Thou rascal beadle, hold thy bloody hand! Why dost though lash that whore? Strip thine own back; Thou hotly lusts to use her in that kind For which thou whipst her. The usurer hangs the cozener.”

― William Shakespeare, King Lear “…..

I don’t think it lost much in the update. 🙂

        • As a matter of no importance at all I guess we all have our favourite quotes.

Mine, courtesy of Joseph Heller is:

……” “You have no respect for excessive authority or obsolete traditions. You’re dangerous and depraved, and you ought to be taken outside and shot!” “……

I’ve lived my life in accordance with those principles. 🙂

  29. In case Kiwiblog don’t like me lifting stuff from the Premium Version of NZ Herald, here it is in full.
“This seems to be the gist of it.
“A raft of internal NZ First documents have been leaked to the media and National, revealing internal discontent about the way the party ran the last election campaign and coalition negotiations. The documents include minutes from electorate meetings, a formal complaint from several members in the Auckland branch about the way the election campaign was run, and email correspondence between NZ First’s Tracey Martin and a party member about coalition negotiations.T he papers show some were critical of Peters for planning to take legal action against National Party figures before coalition negotiation began and questioned what impact that had on Martin replied with an angry email, saying she was “deeply disappointed” by the comments. It is a very rare breach of the internal secrecy of the party and will be a blow to party leader Winston Peters.” It comes just a week before New Zealand First’s annual conference and days after its president, Lester Gray, resigned after citing concerns about the party’s handling of its donations and finances. Leaked emails reveal a standoff between party members and Martin. Members were upset about the fact Peters had filed to sue the National Party over their alleged leaking of his Superannuation information just one day before the 2017 election. A member sought an explanation from Peters as to how true and fair the Coalition negotiations were, given Peters was in the process of suing National while attempting to hammer out a deal to be in Government. None of us were aware of the papers filed by the Rt. Hon. Winston Peters because that was his private business and nothing to do with the formation of a government. None of us, particularly the Rt. Hon. Winston Peters, are that shallow,” the email went on to say. Martin also appeared upset at the implication that Peters conducted the coalition negotiations without seeking advice from his caucus. She also said she was “deeply offended” that members questioned not only the character of the Peters but had, by implication, suggested she, NZ First MPs and board members were puppets in these negotiations. Documented minutes of a party meeting in November 2017 show members levelling criticism at Peters. One member said New Zealand First needed to “come up with solutions and start a succession plan post Winston Peters”.Another said: “Resources for the campaign were not provided, no cogent policies, signs unreadable, distribution of sign issues, listing was confidential, no plan B (or even A) for Jacinder [sic]”. After the 2017 election, Helen Peterson – a long-time party member, who has stood for election three times – wrote a report titled “NZ First Concerns and issues regarding Election 2017” – she has been approached for comment. “A number of members nationwide have been extremely disappointed in the way in which the 2017 election campaign was handled,” it said. The documents reveal members felt the party’s list showed disrespect for hardworking, loyal, hardworking and long-serving members, and favoured candidates who had personal relationships with those who select the list placement. Members also complained the list process was sexist, as only three of the candidates in the top 18 were female. It also shows members thought the campaign was unorganised, lacked leadership and had no strategy. New Zealand First candidates were “for the most part unsupported” and given minimal mentoring or support by the board. “The extent and magnitude of the issues demonstrate how the party will remain a third party for the foreseeable future unless there is an enormous shift towards accountability, adherence to the constitution and respect for its members.” Asked for comment, a spokesman for Peters said the Deputy Prime Minister “has no comment and party related documents, if that is what this is, should be referred to the party for comment”. Martin have been approached for comment”

  31. I see the St Albans/St Lukes pervert is continuing to stalk Maggy at Kiwiblog. All the anonymous moderator has to say is “Thanks for the heads-up”. Those of us who have watched Stephieboy’s descent into perversion at Kiwiblog over many years know that he won’t stop. What a piece of shit he is.

      • Nasska:

Rodney Randall has provided an expert opinion:

You forgot to add local lurker at the Yoga Pantry beneath St Albans. If you had seen this guys facebook profile you would swear that when Ralph was born, he narrowly avoided Down’s Syndrome. Either that, or he is the product of Brother/Sister relations.

My non-expert opinion is more straightforward: Stephieboy looks like a creepy pervert who you wouldn’t want anywhere near your daughter or granddaughter!

I must admit my strategy of identifying every time Stephieboy stalks me (abuse or irrelevant remark) is proving rather tiresome.
I may have to undertake a reset.

          • Maggy:

            Have you looked at Netsafe?

Stephieboy has arguably breached principle 9: “A digital communication should not … incite or encourage an individual to commit suicide”. He gave a Kiwiblog commenter step-by-step instructions on how to use a plastic bag to kill himself. In your case he’s arguably breached principles 5 (“be used to harass an individual”) and 6 (“make a false allegation”). His obsession with your underwear, linking you to alt-right groups, and generally smearing your family name, has gone far beyond what DPF should allow on his blog.

My suggestion: keep a record of Stephieboy’s comments and send them to Netsafe if DPF doesn’t want to deal with them.

            • Oh yes,
I know all the legal ins & outs.. and pointed out to DPF a couple of years ago that Stephieboy was indulging in harassment … and Griff before him ..defamation..
DPF basically told me I could piss off.

If I was really worried, I’d be contacting Peter McKnight.

However, I won’t be doing anything apart from continuing to niggle away at KB.
