    • I would have thought that evidence gained the next day would have been enough to support the her word against his word situation.
The numbers involved are horrific though, has the whole getting to know you situation come to the caveman/Muslim approach in New Zealand.

    • Hmm speed date? And an airline pilot? I’d probably agree with Kea here. My wife, sister and brother all worked in various aspects of the airline industry. Conservative in matters sexual is not a strong feature of that industry ( and no, not all pilots bang everything they see, but there are rumours… )
However, reading the full article ( and it took a lot for me to read a Herald article,) there does seem to be something dodgy about the guy and his actions. Not sure on this one. Too many questions…

Problem with a date gone wrong is there are usually no witnesses, and its very much he says she says. Further spurious rape complaints make it harder for genuine cases to get justice. I suppose that’s were being faithfully married has advantages.

      • Modern society im afraid, ladys are more promiscuous than ever as its their rights to sleep with who ever when ever they like, thinking that there is no repercussions to their actions, they have a booze fuelled night, maybe have a train run on them and then in the morning its what have I done bloke so n so i don’t like so therefore was rape not regret. Should get prison time if the allegation is found false and put on a cries wolf list so if they do it again they have to prove that it happened before they destroy a fellas life

  1. Because you don’t get your own way or is it because you don’t get a slice of the action, you run off the the UN and file a complaint, hoping the UN will stop local progress.

Who runs this country, the duly elected Government through the will of the people or the UN, for whom no one voted for?

It seems Maori in South Taranaki chose to try and stop progress in this country through an unelected organisation, the UN, when other legal alternatives for them fail. I wonder, when the UN takes over this country’s Pandemic Response, as is currently proposed (and for which the Ministry of Health is currently calling for submissions on) and Maori like all New Zealanders subsequently become subject to the whims and demands of the unelected UN, will Maori then be so happy to grizzle to the same UN?

“A hapū environment committee representative, Mere Brooks, said the exclusion of proper tikanga-led consultation was a “blatant continued imposition of colonialism which will not be accepted”.

Maori Elite seem in this country, to be on a mission to try and totally control every aspect of life in New Zealand and not accept that they ceded Governance of the Country to the Queen and subsequently to a duly elected Government, put there by the will of the people. Time they learnt that the Maori Elite are only a very small percentage of the population of this country and put right back in their backward, self serving, box.

    • hooli, i just wish this govt would consult with a group of everyday maori and not the iwi elite or activist types that clearly only represent their own selfish needs and not those of everyday maori.

imagine the cries of outrage is say they randomly selected a couple hundred everyday maori from across the country and created a working group from them to consult with. sure youd by chance select a few staunch/activist types but the others would balance it out.
iwi would have a meltdown but couldnt deny the fact they consulted with those the greedy clack bunts were claiming to represent!
the only thing iwi represent is their own financial interests, as soon as the mention “our people” its just their subtle way of indicating blackmail.

      • It was Johnny Key that allowed Pita Sharples to sign the UNDRIP.
Helen Clark refused to sign it; in 2007.
One of 4 holdouts incl AU and US.
All have since signed up .

For luxflakes to say they will ‘unsign ‘ it is like Colon Craig saying about Rachel McGregor whom it would appear he was harassing, but in a very Christian way, ‘perhaps she can unresign’

H Clark also blocked the foreshore and seabed.
Johnny sold us out on so many levels
Mass migration from 2013 , instead of focusing on productivity, further messed up local bodies (Councils) that lead to where we are today……Massive rate rises all round.

Key did a significant amount of damage in his eight years ; whilst Adrain was blatant in hers, Key was more subtle, but still destructive.

He sold us out to the globalists by a massive multiple over H Clark.
UN DRIP, Billions a year on the Paris accord , locked in globalist pet projects .
As soon as Trump was elected Keys got benched . Fucking globalists.

Lange opened the door, Bolger took it further and it was Key’s mob esp with the rear gunner Finlayson who really opened the floodgates incl the mass amount of multi billion dollar settlements with later top ups if others got more.

It was March 2017 under finlayson and blinglish who made the Wanganui River a legal entry.
They had already done that with the Ureweras; circa 2014 AFAIR.
Had they been in again in 2017 I imagine there would have been more of these deals.

So lets put the ownership where it belongs.
Notional in the last 34 years have not been constructive nor made a single attempt to build a strong , productive economy.

An explosion at a fireworks factory in central Thailand killed about 20 people, according to provincial officials, though the devastation at the scene has made the death toll uncertain.
    https://www.1news.co.nz/2024/01/18/about-20-dead-after-thailand-fireworks-factory-explosion/

Kritsada Manee-In, a rescue worker with the Samerkun Suphan Buri Rescue Foundation, who earlier estimated that around 15 to 17 people had been killed, said an exact count was difficult because the bodies were in pieces.

The blast came less than a month before Chinese New Year in February, when demand for fireworks is strong. The national disaster agency said the cause of the explosion is under investigation.

  3. Why the rules need to change.

A Whanganui state house tenant abandoned her place last February, a relative was living there rent-free but it wasn’t until last month that the Crown entity got a ruling terminating her tenancy for which she must pay $13,300 back rent.

New Zealand’s largest residential landlord, Kāinga Ora Homes and Communities, brought a case against their tenant at the Tenancy Tribunal.

The tribunal issued its decision on December 6 and published it this week.

The state house agency is in charge of 72,000 residences nationally, providing housing for around 200,000 Kiwis. It sought an order for back rent on the Whanganui home but it all took a long time.

  4. More fear pron from Met service.
The southwest Pacific’s first tropical cyclone of 2024 could form within days – but meteorologists say there’s no sign yet of any risk to New Zealand.

Forecasters are closely tracking potential for a tropical low over the Coral Sea to form into a cyclone system, with Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology currently giving a “high” chance (or 55 per cent) of it reaching cyclone strength by early next week.

MetService’s latest outlook picked a moderate risk (20 to 50 per cent) of a system developing in the area, between Queensland’s northeast coast and New Caledonia, from Saturday.

    https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/regions-first-tropical-cyclone-of-2024-could-form-within-days-risk-to-nz-unclear/J6XHJBY5VZD5ZM2AVXVBZJQWEE/

    • Windy.com shows that low developing, but by the 27th its still off the coast of Australia and although a large system, is tracking into cooler waters where cyclone formation does not happen. I find 55% as deemed a High Chance seems strange.

    • What BOM predicts is now taken with a grain of salt, Cairns got pummelled after a cyclone past through, scared the living christ out of everyone for days, but when the shit hit the fan a few days after, it was Saturday night and not a word from them.
we were told this week nothing, had two inches yesterday near southern Grampians. Most farmers have now stopped following BOM for predictions, they think they know what is going to happen in 40 years, they haven’t got a clue what is going to happen this week.
Just looked at there long term average for western Victoria same as before, we were not going to get any rain all summer, January we have had 80 mm in 18 days long term average 34mm, more rain today, cloudy all month, I do not believe a word they say. I use this site, it does show you what is happening accurately, can zoom in wherever, son works marine and he swears by it

  5. Good morning, another humid day here in Hamilton.
Why the hell WEF think they have any concerns regarding this misinformation in our daily lives Is it from the press? No, I did not think so. as usual they use the misinformation from deal leader or other so called politicians, suzy wiles etc. they are a pack of absolute bastards and they would not have a bit of influence over our lives if only the government would stand up to them and say F U C K off and never come back. I would like to know who went over there from NZ? And what the hell was their purpose in going? I am certain people went from here, but they had no right to go to this debacle of a meeting which ran over weeks rather than days. It’s the same as Davos no one should go from here. Why would they go apart from learning Klaus new regime?

  6. Argentina’s Javier Milei Destroys the Narrative of the Elites at Davos: ‘Long Live Freedom Damnit!’

“Another conflict presented by socialists is that of humans against nature claiming that we, human beings, damage the planet which should be protected at all costs, even going as far as advocating for population control mechanisms or that bloody abortion agenda…Do not be intimidated either by the political class or by parasites who live off the state. Do not surrender to political class that only wants to stay in power and retain its privileges.”

  7. Just returned from a there and back trip to Invercargill. Appears very obvious that a tremendous amount of “Roading” money is being frittered away on “Traffic Management” and left over signs.
A number of 30/50 km signs when no works in progress – stop/go lights working at Maheno but one person one end and two the other standing by them. People are no longer slowing down that much when they see unattended work signs.

  10. Minister demands action from Kāinga Ora over thousands of empty state homes
Housing Minister Chris Bishop is cracking the whip over the thousands of state houses that sit empty in New Zealand, demanding Kāinga Ora work with “utmost urgency” to fill them.

Bishop today released a letter he had penned yesterday to Kāinga Ora board chairman and former Labour minister Vui Mark Gosche after a response to an Official Information Act request seen by his office which showed 3906 public homes, 5 per cent of the country’s public housing stock, were vacant as of October 31.

More than 25,000 people were currently on the social housing waitlist.

The response outlined how 786 homes – 20 per cent of new public homes built between June, 2022 and October last year – were empty. Of those homes, 287 of them were empty for more than 120 days.

  11. Ya think the Nats are going to change their brown spots?
Prime Minister Christopher Luxon fronts media at post-speech press conference

Speaking to media, Luxon said National MPs Tama Potaka and Dan Bidois would be at this weekend’s hui organised by the Māori King.

Luxon defended his absence, saying it wasn’t a political event and cited his meeting with the King earlier this week. He described that meeting as constructive.

The pair had a conversation about how to achieve outcomes, Luxon said, delivering outcomes for Māori with respect to education, economic matters and healthcare.

He said he had met with the King several times.

The King and Luxon last met while having lunch at the Koroneihana.

He dismissed claims that the hui was about responding to government policy, instead saying the hui was about establishing a pathway forward for Māori.

He disagreed with his fellow Cabinet member Shane Jones’ description of the hui as a “monumental moan session”.

Luxon was looking forward to what was coming out of the hui and how the Government could work in partnership with Māori.

“The politicians aren’t front and centre,” Luxon said of the hui.

“Not at all,” Luxon said when asked if he wasn’t attending the hui because he was wary of potential backlash.

He would be attending Rātana and Waitangi.

  13. Why do so many evangelicals see the former president as God’s anointed one?

On October 15, 2020, in a rare display of humility, Donald Trump told a campaign rally in Greenville, North Carolina, that he was not as famous as Jesus Christ.

“Somebody said to me the other day, ‘You’re the most famous person in the world, by far.’ I said, ‘No, I’m not.’ They said, ‘Yes, you are. I said no.’ They said, ‘Who’s more famous?’ I said, ‘Jesus Christ.’”

This exhibition of modesty was out of character.

Trump, his family and his supporters have been more than willing to claim that Trump is ordained by God for a special mission, to restore America as a Christian nation.

In recent weeks, for example, the former president posted a video called “God Made Trump” on Truth Social that was produced by a conservative media group technically independent of the Trump campaign. He has also screened it at campaign rallies.

The video begins as a narrator with a voice reminiscent of Paul Harvey’s declares: “On June 14, 1946, God looked down on his planned paradise and said: ‘I need a caretaker.’ So God gave us Trump.”

Why was Trump chosen? The video continues:

    • Rol, we have a very simple recycling system… a steel 44 gallon drum out back of the house that we burn a couple times per week.
old gumboots in that thing go great and are very satisfying knowing ive just undone some greeny wankers best efforts 🙂

  14. IAASB, A couple of years ago we decided to have a burn off at the back of our section on the beach which is inaccessible to the public ,it was mainly dry foliage and old bits of wood etc that had accumulated over a year or 2 so I set the blaze around 10 metres out on the beach and started piling on the stuff and it was going great until a half dozen firemen came streaming down the steps from our house yelling at me about some fire restrictions and how they were going to fine me ,luckily I didn’t carry on with my usual behaviour with people visiting my place for the purpose of selling or pushing some political or social B/S and asking for donations which is “ Fcuk off” .
When I went back up to the house there were 2 full sized fire appliances parked at my gate on the wrong side of the road with all the lights going etc ,apparently some Karen on the other side of the harbour had rung and told them our house was on fire .
From then on we have used a 44 cut length wise on our jetty with a piece of 12mm steel next to it and although it hasn’t been tested yet I reckon my explanation about having a BBQ will stand up to scrutiny , to be fair the fire service is one government department that I’d never abuse no matter what because IMHO they are one service that does exactly what they are meant to do and very efficiently as well👍👍👍
