Gilbert Mair is a very interesting character AH. He was very pro maori and from memory an honory member of Te Arawa.
If you can get hold of it there is a book of short stories that he penned called Maori Stories which is well worth a read. Amongst other stories it tells of the purchase of the Kaingaroa forest land.
The chief that pushed the sale died before settlement so when the funds were delivered in cash by horseback the old chief was dug and and brought back to be part of the celebrations.
I got the book from the Rotorua Library about 10 years ago.

i sleep more now then in my 20s rev, used to do all nighters 2 sometimes 3 times per week and may have only had an hours sleep at lunch.
both my parents hardly sleep, my brother hardly sleeps and are kids are… well just kids at the moment so their sleep is pretty fickle too.
if i go to bed before 10pm ill be awake at 2 or 3am bouncin off the walls, im usually midnight-1am bed most nights and 530-6 wakey wakey.

CCCs are issued when a building is completed and provide the most accurate indication of new housing supply.
The Auckland Council figures include CCCs issued within the Auckland region by Kainga Ora.

Several people spoken to by 1News say they believe they know the identity of people who took items from the launch after it ran aground near their settlement.
