  1. Another drought laden day as NIWA predicted here in the darkest King Country with heavy rain, wind, strangled frogs in the rain swollen Ohura River and small dogs being blown down the Forgotten World Highway this afternoon, as Summer rolls on.

    • pissin down here too hooli, this long hot dry summer is rather damp. we got a bit dry before xmas but since then its rained pretty much 5 days a week… great for harvesting our grain crops////// ffs we’re lucky to get 1 or 2 days harvesting then shut down for another bloody week.

      • SA, come and get it, it is all here for the uptake.

But before you do, you will have to negotiate with the myriad of IWI here who claim ownership of the once free water. And when you do find the water you want that you will be taking from here, make sure that you find the IWI that will charge you the least, as the once free water, falling from the sky is now a tradable and claimable item and I am sure with a bit of horse trading you will be able to play one IWI off against the other, then find one who says if you can find another IWI selling the once free water, cheaper than any other IWI, you will be able to get a 15% discount, you know, much like what Bunnings offer.

  2. Debbie Packer demonstrates why she should apply to the Henry Bennett Centre to become a permanent Resident, does a new head count of attendee’s at the Tainui King’s Turangawaewae moan fest and poses for a picture of the Maori Party Caucus to prove the mental health of this country is in dire straits and that lunacy has become the norm, well for her anyway.

If you were a used car salesman and told as many lies as she has in this short piece, you would be before a Disciplinary Tribunal Toot Sweet.

    • “If the boot were on the other foot, and Māori were doing this to Pākehā, I believe violent revolution could occur.”… what a dumb ignorant piece of shit she is!, if maori werent doing this shit then there would be no problems right now ffs theyve renlentlessly pushed and pushed and now gone too far. sadly no violent revolution has occurred hence why maori have been emboldened to do this racist seperatist crap as their was virtually no opposition to it.

      • It’s a great photo HP, Debbie in her traditional Maori designed and developed felt top hat, a bloke with a cowboy hat that looks like his face has had a major mishap at the Government Printers Office and who has a long dead whale jaw bone giving him neck pain, a naturally blond shiela with milk bottle bottoms that have replaced the polycarbonate lenses in her glasses and a schoolgirl with no experience in life.

All of them there to tell you how to live your life as they know how you should do it, much better than you.

        • I had no idea of the cost of tattoos my grandson and his partner came the other day and are tattooed up, as are my grandsons in the Uk. My grandson was saying how much the average tat costs!!! I was pretty shocked at the cost of them but they like to go to someone that is good so that could make a difference, but for a face scribble its possibly $400 the full face I would have no idea as to the cost of that. Unless of course they have mob members that do it for them?????? sorry, not sorry I meant tribal members. Isn’t it fascinating that beneficiary woman have them but cannot feed their children????

    • I particularly enjoyed the top photo of the Aotearoa Liberation League and Te Waka Hourua protest.
Ten people, one dark, one sort of dark, and eight white. Pretty much equal to the racial split in this country, but they think that only the two coloured should decide for the rest of us.
Apart from that, ten people protesting is a marvellous turn out – was it a work day and the other thousand or so couldn’t make it, or is this just some university hazing prank on these individuals?

  3. “Police decided not to pursue, due to the manner of driving,” Hoyes said.

The police Eagle helicopter then monitored the car and relayed its position to ground staff, who were able to get ahead of it, deploying road spikes to stop it on Airfield Rd in Takanini.

“It has continued on for about another 300 metres before coming to a stop, and the five occupants fled on foot.

“Police quickly located all five and took them into custody without further incident,” Hoyes said.

The offenders, aged between 11 and 13, will all be referred to Youth Aid.

Lots of police time, helicopter time and so on. How long are us taxpayers going to have to put up with this shit?

Nothing will stop this until Mum & Dad arebefore the court. They lose any benefits and the kids get properly disciplined.

    • I blame the plethora of automatic cars. At least when the cars were mainly manual, you needed one child to change gear and another to work the pedals. Live has become too easy for these miscreants.
Now they just aim it at a shop window without any respect for a correct parallel park.

      • Ban all automatic cars.

If you had written to the toothy Adrain critter when it was PM and said

        Dear Jathinda

        please ban all ortomatic cars,
        I dont feelz safe,
I am a ten year old girl at Waka Waka primary skewl in Taranaki.
My teacher is Miss Ngawawawa . She says 11 year olds can now drive. and this is bad.
She says private cars are bad anyways and we should cath the bus
Miss Ngawawawa says she votes Green but you are amazeballs.
I think you are amazeballs 2
My Aunty Huia has a picture of you in her lounge and thinks you are amazeballs

It must be nice your boyfriend is a fisherman and you can have fish every day.
I wish I could have fish every day but when I turn 16 I will become a vegetarian
I would like to vote when I am 16 . Then I can vote for you.
you are so good at fixing things.

please, pretty please ban ortomatic cars

        Thank you
        Yours

        • Perfect Howi, she would have made a Captains Call, on the basis of that letter and banned all Automatic Vehicles in the country. The roads would now be clear of traffic and Downers would become far more profitable company as they would not have to employ staff to fill or who claim to fill the potholes in the country’s roads.

A win/win all round and it would have been another milestone world first achievement for New Zealand’s once highest paid solo mother, Ardern.

  5. if luxtard and other nat mps are too cowardly to discuss the treaty or just bow down to maori and media and fail to acknowledge that its a concern to many national supporters then i rekon david seymour teaches them a lesson and demand renegotiations or just walk away from the coalition. obviously im not meaning right now! but maybe once his bill is in progess and going through the motions, just before or just after his stint as deputy pm begins i rekon.

im hoping, but not holding my breath that as this debate heats up that nats/luxtards support starts dropping and act/seymours starts rising.

I would prefer Buongiorno, or since we live in a country that was civilized by Britain, Good Morning. I know its petty but I am sick of being greeted in a language I don’t speak or care to. National calls for review into Govt contracts awarded to firm run by partner of Peeni Henare

A just-released review has found the ministry failed to raise any concerns about any conflicts of interest when it awarded seven contracts to Tātou between 2021 and 2022 when its chief executive was Henare’s partner Skye Kimura.

      “The issue is the Revolution”
All the other ‘issues’ are tools to be used to dismantle then move on to the next issue.
In a way the most difficult thing to sometimes to see is the big picture, as it seems to be a war on so many fronts, with different depths.
So where do we make a stand, what hill are you prepared to die on.
Bare in mind that any concession you make will be taken as your lose, & interpreted as a win, that encourages them.
While pushing under the bus those others to keep the revolution going.

They systematically want to throw the whole baby out with the bathwater,
To have no previous foundation from any previous history.
Another guru, to tell you how to reinvent the history, to put you in that collective place to change how the “human rights” came to be.

      Lies, lies and more lies.
Human Rights, are just another creation that needed to be shifted along.
      .
Some of the worst crimes in history were committed in the name of fictional stories that people believed.
Very few wars are about objective material things: it’s when people can’t agree on the story that conflict arises.
How can we create good common stories that benefit people and prevent bad stories that cause huge misery?
First, we need to understand that humans like us created the stories – so we can also change them.

Sounds nice an easy on the first take of Yuval, and so many are happy to take away those foundations, because some mistakes were made, but in some ways we learnt from it, & though not perfect, build on it, to understand the consequences, like how the USA Declaration of Rights was contested & thought through, by people who had experienced life, well read, taking the time to ponder & reason.
      .
Once you deny the justification for your rights, then you can deny the rights, so then the “Build Back Better” as the new man, but in that controlling collective.
So who is setting up this absolute total control & what measures, contacts, networks, are they using to bring this about to control all people of the world?

Who cares, they can get into smoking if they want, at least it’s a choice, and if we cannot have choice life is then a total piss off. Choice is what gives humans rights. “We hope that for Māori, they see this on a job description and think, I’ve got that, I’ve been on a Marae, I’ve cooked. I’ve cleaned. I’ve had all these other valuable skills like manaakitanga, which sometimes can’t be put on paper.”

The New York Times noted that the organization had raised about $100 million from its founding through 2021, but lost court battles have led to expenses mounting up.

A youth social worker with no prior record who admitted to a prolonged, fatal attack on an innocent bystander — yelling “Where’s the kids?” while in an apparent delusional state — had been acting strangely for hours before inflicting the “jackhammer”-style wounds with a knife in each fist.

    • I do not understand how car manufacturers building fewer EVs is going to cause the second hand EV market to go down.
If fewer EVs are built then existing EV’s will become more rare and I would expect their prices to go up.

      2

      0

        • The cost of a reconditioned or rebuilt battery would suggest that the break even point must be fairly close for many second hand EVs imported over the past decade. From https://evdb.nz/leaf-battery-guide

          ……”Prices quoted by EVs Enhanced:

$5000 NZD (going from 24 kWh 55% SoH to 24 kWh 75% SoH).
          $10,000 NZD (going from 24 kWh 55% to 30 kWh at 85% SoH) “……..

Secondhand Leaf batteries range in price from $3,000 – $13,000 (for 2018- models) & an imported 40 kWh Leaf can be purchased for just over $20,000.

In the real world you wouldn’t be able to give away a five year old EV but “feelz”.

    • A while ago, I read in a comment whether this increasing gender-dysphoria in one’s off spring, could be related to the where the woman stopping the contraceptive pill to become pregnant & falls pregnant with in a very short period of time stopping.
So no time for the female body to have flushed itself totally clear of those contradictory contraceptive hormones.
Were there any studies done into affects on children born from woman like this in the trials years ago?
It was an ongoing pot of gold for the companies that developed that contraceptive.

      … Causes of gender differences
There are several different potential causes of gender differences, these include hormonal changes, exposure to estrogenic drugs and so forth. …..

      https://www.news-medical.net/health/Causes-of-Gender-Dysphoria.aspx

“An estrogen (E) is a type of medication which is used most commonly in hormonal birth control ….”

It seems to have been in the past a much lower incidence, of gender dysphoria, though much more amplified by social media, etc. and the new stories for “human rights” to actually increase & tooled into a resulting divisiveness.

Or is it in the recycled water we drink?

      3

      0

      • ……”Or is it in the recycled water we drink?”……

Personally I think that’s the most plausible explanation. It could be worthwhile do a comparison of gender confusion amongst Waikato children & their counterparts in Nelson or Westland.

I’m hazy on the details but dairy farmers use female hormones on an industrial scale to get their cows to cycle at the right time & this coupled with the human consumption of oestrogen & progesterone must show up in water sampling. Those unfortunate enough to live in Hamilton & surrounds are drinking water that has run off farms & passed through many kidneys before it finds its way into their lattes.

If our beloved editor can inform us off his bra cup size we might be able to kick off research on this very blog. 🙂

    • Nasska : Yes it would be worth a study.

Some dairy farms juice up their cows to have synchronized mating and / or to avoid late calving.

I know in beef cattle New Zealand did use some hormone growth promotants that were hormone bonus, but as far as I am aware one had to be pretty well on to it to make it worth while & did not seem to be overdone.

However in Europe I was shocked & surprized how it was used & abused, like injecting a brew of the choices, & dosing up much often,
One could tell that those cattle had been overdone, as the cattle seemed rude to me, like Belgian Blue.
Sort of rude like the woman having put far too much lip collagen. then Botox, etc.

lots of young stock (dairy) still get PGd, sometimes double jabbed to synchronize them for AI. alot of dairy farms i worked on had done away with cidr programs and PGing cows as it messed with them too much and had a far lower sucess rate at getting in calf. much cheaper and successfull to run a non cycler mob with a few bulls.

the beef hormones i know a few years back the works started paying alot less for those animals so i think it stopped being used, who knows it may even be banned now?

theres lots of other hormones going into food and our daily environment too, soy for starters then as mentioned birth control, bpa. farmers/growers also spray hormones on pastures, crops, fruit trees, vines etc…. and then theres the endless other agrichemicals used that who the fark knows what the long term effects really are?

  15. The Earthquake Commission knew David Seymour was the new Minister responsible for EQC and Southern Response but Seymour’s office thought it was someone else
but its not that clear cut and oh boy why don’t we just shut it down?
“This means that you are able to direct Toka Tū Ake EQC and Southern Response in certain respects, however, this is a mechanism that we would advise only be used in exceptional circumstances.”

But who in the new government is the Minister in charge of this?

The Treasury’s briefing was for the Minister of Finance – which is Nicola Willis – but the new minister responsible for Toka Tū Ake EQC and Southern Response appears to be David Seymour.
However when Seymour’s office was contacted on Thursday to confirm this, Interest.co.nz was told EQC was overseen by Chris Penk – not Seymour.

Penk is the new Minister for Land Information, Veterans, Building and Construction and Associate Minister of Defence and Immigration.

    It continues.

Number of new homes consented down 25% last year
There’s a looming crunch coming for the residential construction industry as new dwelling consents continue to tumble

The latest figures from Statistics NZ show that 37,239 new dwellings were consented last year, which was 12,299 fewer (-25%) than in 2022.

The figures show that new housing starts probably peaked over 2021 and 2022, with more than 49,000 new dwellings consented in each of those years.

The biggest decline was for apartments, with just 2518 apartments consented in 2023, down 42.6% compared with 2022.

That was followed by stand alone houses -26.8%, retirement village units -23.3% and townhouses and units -19.3%.

  18. Ardern still looking to silence ‘wrong think’..
Last week, we learned that an important Government initiative with prominent international standing is creeping way beyond is mission, and could be used to suppress the views of Kiwis.

The Christchurch Call was launched after the Christchurch Terror Attack in March 2019. Its stated aim is to undermine terrorism and violent extremism online.

If that was what the Call was actually doing, and all that it was doing, it would be difficult to argue against. It goes without saying that terrorism and violent extremism are antithetical to free speech.

But buried within 370 pages of documents released under the Official Information Act, which our team analysed, are details that show that The Call has morphed into an Orwellian assault on speech rights.

The Christchurch Call, headed by Jacinda Ardern, now is specifically looking at gender-based ‘hatred’ as one of its core functions.

For example, a briefing paper to Jacinda Ardern in June 2023 outlines that NZ is working with the US, Microsoft, Twitter and OpenMined to develop an algorithmic tool that is intended to be used by social media companies. The paper notes, “We have committed to looking specifically at gender-based (including anti-LGBTQIA+) violence/hatred as a feature of the radicalisation journey.”

As Philip Crump, the Editor of ZB Plus notes “Ardern has a Senior Policy Advisor within The Call Unit whose lead responsibility is “gender issues. There doesn’t appear to be any advisors with responsibilities covering terrorism or extremism. Why has The Call moved so far from its original purpose and when was the NZ public told of this development?”

The specific mention of “LGBTQIA+ communities” raised an immediate red flag for me. Gender identity is a ‘sacred cow’ of our time and Free Speech Union has had to intervene on several occasions to aid Kiwis who were punished or threatened for expressing views on the subject. It is one of the most aggressively policed subjects by opponents of free speech.

Despite being a woman and a lesbian, the prospect of this “gender-based” addition to The Call doesn’t make me feel protected at all.

Does it mean that if you hold the opinion that trans-women are men you are an extremist AND as dangerous as a terrorist – your opinion so unsafe it must be censored from the internet?

we can’t sit by and watch as terms like violence and terrorism are used to manipulate debate and suppress legitimate views. The Christchurch Call must not become a tool for politicised bureaucrats to beat down on ideas they don’t want discussed.
    <>

The same OIA reveals that when Special Envoy Jacinda Ardern met Second Gentlemen of the United States Douglas Emhoff (Vice President Harris’ husband) to discuss the work of the Christchurch Call, they spoke about ‘countering hate’, ‘celebrating diverse communities’ and ‘prioritising issues…that affect youth, women and LGBTQIA+ communities’, all in the name of promoting “social cohesion”.

I don’t know about you, but to me this sounds less like stopping actual terrorists and more like punishing wrong-think and social engineering…and besides, you don’t promote social cohesion by demonising and censoring your ideological foes, you harm it!

We cannot allow the “Christchurch Call” to become the thought police of the internet. Would you sign our petition now?

We call on the Prime Minister to stop funding and favouring the people who’ve been abusing our sympathy and anxiety about terrorism for power to suppress free speech.

We call on him not to be their dupe.

We call on him to put people in charge who’ll focus on violent extremism, not views unpopular with those in power..

We cannot sit idly by as The Call turns into another cog in the growing censorship machine, where any content dissenting from the Government’s diversity and inclusion narrative is deemed to be too dangerous to be shared online preventing legitimate public discourse. The internet must remain an open and free space where varied opinions can be shared – we cannot let this die in the name of the dubious new civil religion of diversity and inclusion.

We cannot let this new Christchurch Call become another nail in the coffin of our freedom of thought and speech.
This mission creep must be reversed.

Sign our petition to reverse the “mission creep” of the Christchurch Call.
We have a track record of banding together successfully to prevent unjust infringements to our freedom of speech. Will you stand with us again?

    Yours in wrong-think,
    Ani O’Brien
    Council Member
    Free Speech Union

  19. Proposed increase in the trustee tax rate to 39%
The Government has proposed that from the 2024/25 income year, the tax rate applying to trustee income will increase to 39% to align with the top personal tax rate. These changes were included in the Taxation (Annual Rates for 2023-24, Multinational Tax, and Remedial Matters) Bill introduced on 18 May 2023. The proposals in the Bill are not legislation until enacted and are subject to change through the parliamentary process.

      • Sort out the 28,000 tax exempt charidees first

It should be whittled down to under 4,000 in total
        Reapply every five years.
With proof of last five year activities

Charidees cost the taxpayer multi millions.

If people donate to them they can claim back from the taxpayer pool 33 cents in the dollar
Donate $300 to a so called charidee and you can claim back $100 from the tax payer pool.
        Stupid.

A proper cleanout would save multi, multi millions and more than pay for itself.

        Currently it is a rort.

    • I hope they allow some independent wise people to have some input into the scope, to make sure it is wide & fair.

Public consultation will begin this month on expanding the inquiry’s scope to include:

      ✪ Use of multiple lockdowns
      ✪ Vaccine procurement and efficacy
✪ The social and economic impacts on both regional and national levels
✪ Whether the decisions made, and steps taken, were justified
✪ The cost-effectiveness of the government’s policies, and whether the rules set by the government appropriately balanced Covid-19 elimination with other goals
✪ The government’s utilisation of partnerships with business and professional groups
✪ The extent of disruption to New Zealanders’ health, education, and business as a result of the government’s policies
✪ If the government’s response was consistent with the rule of law
✪ How New Zealand’s pandemic preparedness compared to other countries

The Royal Commission will shortly announce details on how people can have their say on the consultation and share their experiences of the pandemic.
      https://www.1news.co.nz/2024/02/02/government-expands-scope-of-inquiry-into-covid-19-response/

It seems to cover most things, and hopefully has not blocked off to shelter some people.
Like what was in the vaccine & did it comply with the contract & were there any breaches of that contract.
The MedSafeNZ dance with MAAC & how much did NZ rely on the US Department of Defence for supply of Pfizers with the shell game of FDA, CDC, etc. advice.

Wiser and more informed heads than mine, hopefully can have a good input to the expanded inquiry questions.

  21. The economic impact of lockdowns and vaccine effectiveness are set to be considered by a beefed up inquiry into the Covid-19 response.

Internal Affairs Minister Brooke van Velden said the government had committed to the expanded scope as part of the National Party’s coalition agreements with both ACT and New Zealand First and wanted the public to have its say.

“The current terms of reference were decided by the same government responsible for the Covid-19 response and they place significant limits on what the inquiry can consider,” she said.

“New Zealanders deserve a frank assessment of what occurred and how we can learn from it.”

The Royal Commission of Inquiry into the pandemic response last year delayed hearing public submissions until 2024 while the National-led coalition government reviewed its scope.

Public consultation will begin this month on expanding the inquiry’s scope to include:

    Use of multiple lockdowns
    Vaccine procurement and efficacy
The social and economic impacts on both regional and national levels
Whether the decisions made, and steps taken, were justified

If the government’s response was consistent with the rule of law
How New Zealand’s pandemic preparedness compared to other countries

The Royal Commission will shortly announce details on how people can have their say on the consultation and share their experiences of the pandemic.

“This is a forward-thinking piece of work. It is not simply about learning what went wrong, but working out what we need to do right in the future,” van Velden said.

“This government is ensuring all New Zealanders’ concerns are heard.”

Nothing though about whether it was necessary at all and what the medical effect were on the population and the dismissal of the freedom to choose. etc.
Just another bloody political white wash.

  22. Prime Minister Christopher Luxon said a meeting with iwi leaders at Kerikeri today was “positive, constructive” and “direct” – going both ways.

The annual National Iwi Chairs Forum is an opportunity for those iwi leaders to come face to face with the Government, ahead of Waitangi Day next week.

Luxon confirmed he, New Zealand First deputy leader Shane Jones and ACT leader David Seymour spoke at the hui, which was closed to the public and media.

Afterwards, he told reporters the relationship between the Crown and Māori needed to be built on trust, and there was “goodwill on both sides” to make the relationship “work incredibly well”.
