    • A tragedy unfolding.
Just what is to be done to stop the import, making, and use of such drugs?

Lower the price of other drugs, like cannabis?

Poverty, housing, employment, is often blamed for drug taking.
Perhaps some of the people do not value themselves, to take responsibility, and accountability, and that is to themselves, and to take the steps to solve those problems.

Which encourages the problems? Police system? Judiciary system? Health system? Education system? Climate Change system? Extinction Rebellion system? Globalisation system?

I am ok with the drugging of people, freedom of choice, but not with extorting money with menaces with no responsibility or accountability for all their “feelz good factors” through all the “wellness” taxes that disappear into the “systems”

  1. How is the tourism business – booming I would think. Last Wednesday driving from Mossburn to Te Anau (50km) in the evening had 11 tourist buses pass us going back to Queenstown (probably). Next morning walking down a 5 minute Main Road stretch saw one leaving who had stayed the night.
Travelling back yesterday saw a large number of Asian (Chinese?) drivers between Te Anau and the Franklin/Queenstown turnoff. Could tell it was them driving by the constant drifting over the yellow lines and corner markings, the braking lights going on before every corner and slight rise, the almost uniform white SUV type vehicles and most of all by the passing on the double yellow lines. The one with a smashed in front and seemingly colliding with a tractor that we all had to crawl past was definitely Asian.

    • I think I heard her call Mike, Michael.

She was pissed off about him daring to claim she was soft on drugs.

The latest Labour sex case where Ardern & Robbo “I know nothing” appears to have slipped under the radar along with numerous others.

There must be a heap just sitting there waiting to be outed.

      • Yeah the complicit lying, whoring MSM and the UN escape worked.

We’re sheeple and we can be fooled every time. They’ll keep on lying and abusing young women and we’ll keep on letting them off the hook.

        It’s depressing.

    • Mike is really helping our PTPM, she’s getting better

It was an interesting session, . The first thing is that it’s clear a lot of time and money is being poured into the PTPM’s media training, she’s definitely upped her game from her uhhhming and aaaahing of the earlier part of the year. Body language was interesting too, again the training is kicking in about looking relaxed and in control. She’s getting better at it, not anywhere near John Key’s ‘man of the people’ standard but she is getting better. She still has a real problem with her ‘liar’s tell’. Her wildly twitching hands were giving away how deeply uncomfortable she was throughout the whole process.

Also, when Mike calls out the real issue (ie that kids know she is soft on drugs) she resorts to the usual defence of the left – that is to say she protests “personal offence”. Which basically means she knew she lost the argument and was retreating. From that point on she could only resort to talking points about side-issues that did not relate to the central thesis behind Mike’s questions.

Also, what the fuck NZ Herald, can you just for once give the Fake News fucktardery a fucking rest! The headline “Jacinda Ardern chides Mike Hosking on soft on drugs claim: ‘Do you know how ridiculous you sound right now?’ was exactly what a propaganda outlet would say.

The PTPM knows that Mike has a huge following, she knows he nails her every single time, she is working hard but still coming up short. However, she is getting better – which all goes to prove the old saw “Whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”. He isn’t killing her (electorally) and he is definitely making her stronger.

      0

      0

      • Apparently all the woke lefties on Twitter are having orgasms that the PTPM put Mike in his place by telling him how ridiculous Mike was for pointing out the truth to her.

I guess if you live in a progressive bubble like our PTPM you are not used to people calling out your lies, and I guess under those circumstances it would seem ridiculous to be put on the spot – still it doesn’t detract from what Mike was saying to be true “the PTPM IS soft on drugs”.

  2. How can you trust a Government to honor promises to NZer’s when they continually break promises they made to themselves like having the Government car fleet emissions free by 2025.
    https://i.stuff.co.nz/motoring/news/116395302/government-abandons-electric-vehicle-target-for-public-service-fleet
There are 15,473 cars in the Govt fleet and only 78 are electric, so we know this have no worry to shit on their own when it suits their needs so expect more of their promise to go if they get another term.

      • What is the chance that knob-end Twitford will be an Auckland Mayoral candidate in 3 years time – or 6 years.
        He has zero self awareness.
His ability to Phail knows no limits.

Given the current options to vote for Mayor – or any position – I am looking for a candidate to tick called ‘Hold my beer’
        The rest are a W.O.F.T.

When will Christine Fletcher give it a rest?
She has traded on the Fl. family name for briefly marrying a Fletcher 30+ years ago.
It is not like being sister in law to dripping wet Hugh Fletcher was anything to be proud of.
I think I’ll save the voting papers for 5 November.

I was rooting for him when he first stood for the Republican candidacy.
I know he wants to pull out of all the Middle east wars, but I am disappointed that he seems to be deserting the Kurds, who are a moderate people and who really helped in the fight against ISIS.

    • An interesting article with in the article.
Judge Naughton’s reasons why the name had to be permanently suppressed.

When challenged “New Zealand Bar Association president Clive Elliott QC for what he called a “vindictive” and “personal” attack on a judge”.

The “systems” seem to be all in censorship, so divide and rule by “identity politics” can be given a free ride and to keep the public in a type of fear, while being able to say “we have got your back, and this is “well being kindness” justice.

  7. Surplus swells to $7.5 billion as Government collects more in tax on wages
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2019/10/surplus-swells-to-7-5-billion-as-government-collects-more-in-tax-on-wages.html

“The surplus is $4 billion ahead of the forecast in Budget 2019, but the variation is largely due to one-off factors that are not likely to continue over time, such as $2 billion from the revaluation of rail assets.”

Or our taxes are too high!

    0

    0

    • Yeah Right

” $2 billion from the revaluation of rail assets.”
      Not real money.

It has no resale value as it would not be purchased by a shareholder backed trading, tax-paying entity.
To revalue is a scam but its the COL- whats new?

“KiwiRail, a state-owned enterprise, now has its assets valued based as a public benefit entity, taking into account the benefits that it provides at a community level, rather than a purely profit-oriented entity.

“A valuation for the rail freight network that only reflected its cash-generating potential was no longer appropriate,” the Treasury said in its Financial Statements.”

      What a load of bollocks.
We say its worth more, Coz Feelz, not money.

So Treasury is now full of Crap like Adrian Orr’s Reserve Bank.
      Free bananas for all.
All that beating up on public servants by ministers esp Shame Jones – has had its payoff.

      0

      • I hope some finance people or accountants are publicly highly critical of this revaluation or better still a banker says he would ignore the revaluation if he/she was weighing up lending to such an organisation. It is meaningless garbage.

        0

      • According to Robertson all is well. I don’t believe a word of it. The economy under the COL is running on a wing and a prayer. The next phase will be crash and burn. I pity those who do have not a stable financial footing or taxpayer funded employment.

    • Someone with more brains than me just pointed out that the COL have loaded 3.5 bilion onto Housing NZ and 2 billion to the DHBs. So that is 5.5 billion of it.

It is underhand not to disclose it!

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/rural/2019/10/despicable-struggling-farmer-s-emotional-message-to-thieves.html

“To the miserable, despicable people who entered our farm property last night, the old Kaimata Dairy factory on Tarata Rd, Kaimata and stole one and a half tonnes of both calf powder and calf meal, thanks a bunch,” she posted on Facebook.

She said the feed was worth up to $10,000 and was a blow for the family farming business and a new calving venture.

“Murray works 12 hour days atm, in our struggling egg business as well as feeding 600 calves every day, on 2 increasingly painful, worn-out hips, awaiting a double hip replacement that has been put off twice, in the last 8 months.”

They can grow their hooch plants amongst hemp plantations, and provide a valuable service to the wider community at the same time.

The comment by Natalie Bridges ( below) the wife of New Zealands leader of Opposition and our local MP, has involved herself publicly in a silly issue by the Deputy mayors wife, Kathryn Clout. A sticker on a hoarding.

How does the local MPs wife endorse a candidate. It’s very disappointing to see someone in such a high position in New Zealand speaking out against a group. A group of decent citizens who have been broken, destroyed, made ill, from the actions of the local council led by Kathryn Clouts husband.

For the last 6 years Kelvin Clout as Deputy Mayor has helped break our city. Maybe Natalie Bridges is too busy to see whats gone on here. How she can can come out singing Clouts integrity and defend the bullying, the incompetence, the corruption, the destruction of our City, defies belief. TCC are in such a state that they are now being monitored by government. Natalie Bridged stance is beyond me. Catherine Clout has made a big issue over a sticker on a hoarding calling our group (of over 3000 people) toxic. That sticker was probably a joke, just like what was written on Erica Harveys hoarding. Did Kathryn rush onto her platform and call that out? Was that written by her husbands team??? OF COURSE NOT! Many people have those stickers.

So we have seen the office of Simon Bridges get involved in these local body elections and now his wife has. Its now clear why Simon Bridges did nothing about Bella Vista and NEVER responded to me. He was in Clouts camp. My visit to Simon Bridges probably made things worse for me/us not better.

Its no wonder he allowed his local council to destroy 16 homes and the lives of 21 homeowners. Its no wonder our housing crisis in Tauranga has been added to because of this disgraceful Council. It clear theses two woman a running the city not two men.

Natalie might like to check out the issues we are all enduring and not use a wee sticker to promote a candidate and embarrass her husband!

The group didn’t apply the sticker an individual did.

    See the link for more.

Simons wife is not that wise. Makes us wonder why we should vote for Simon.
    Nah it doesn’t. I won.t

  13. I see Gaylord has not been getting much face time in the photo shoots recently. I wonder if he is in rehab or if there are problems at home.

I know he does not have any legal problems, as the Police Commissioner was adamant the police would not investigate any allegations or wrong doing. He said that in a public statement.

Which laid the basis for the second part of the cover up, where a specially assembled team of expensive lawyers would go after anyone who spoke out, based on what the pigs had said about them not investigating Gaylord.

They tried this after the violent sexual assaults against kids at the Labour camp. It only failed there due to independent media and numerous victims and witnesses.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/world/2019/10/italian-authorities-investigating-aggravated-threats-after-greta-thunberg-effigy-hung-from-noose.html

“We hanged Greta Thunberg in Rome. The dummy has its face and even its braids. Other actions will follow,” said the group which claimed responsibility, according to Italian newspaper la Repubblica

The effigy was removed from the bridge on Via Isacco Newton by Rome firefighters accompanied by police.

Rome mayor Virginia Raggi took to Twitter to denounce the act as “shameful”. She expressed solidarity to the 16-year-old, along with the message “our climate commitment does not stop”.

Oh dear. How sad. Never Mind.

  15. Kiwiblog moderation.

    My comment submitted at 6.30pm.

    Swifty said:

    For Aucklanders – cheap eats

My foodie daughter and I have been to plenty on this list – there are none I would not recommend.

    I responded:

Stephieboy recommends Robert Harris at St Lukes! Apparently the coffee is good and the other customers are friendly.

It’s now 8.15pm and my comment is still “awaiting moderation”.

I would’ve thought 6.30pm-8.10pm was a busy time for Kiwiblog moderators – but apparently not! What’s the point of a discussion forum if participants are practically sending penpal letters to each other due to timing delays?

Edit: can we perhaps “rethink” the Labour Party billboard appraoch for blockquote comments? 🙂

  16. Free Speech Coalition

    Dear Freedom Lovers,

There has been close to universal condemnation of last week’s decision by the High Court to reject our application for judicial review of the decision of Regional Facilities Auckland last year to de-platform two Canadian speakers who the Mayor didn’t like.

Unless we appeal this decision, the likes of ‘Auckland Peace Action’ will be successful in bullying officials to cancel events they disapprove of. Officials will be able to point to last week’s decision to justify ‘health and safety’ as a trump card to rights of freedom of speech (including your right to peacefully assemble and receive information).

Even many of our detractors, such as legal academics who support hate-speech laws, are saying publicly that the Judge’s ruling is wrong. By ruling that RFA was not exercising a ‘public power’ by cancelling the booking, the judge was able to avoid the key issues of free speech and the rights of Aucklanders to hear from who they choose. The Judge says these considerations just don’t apply.

If we let this stand, the Mayor’s officials are free to ban whoever they like from Council-owned venues at any hint of opposition.

Our steering group have met with the lawyers – and we are all agreed that we can’t let this precedent stand.

That’s why in a few hours, we will be announcing our intention to appeal the ruling to the Court of Appeal.
But we are relying on your support to make this happen

To mount a persuasive appeal, we need at least $50,000 before we can file our appeal with the Court of Appeal. That’s factoring-in the extremely generous offers of pro bono time and volunteer work by our legal team.

So to make this happen, we need your help to get us to the $50,000 target in the next few weeks.

Ensure Phil Goff doesn’t have the last laugh by donating now so we can file this essential legal challenge.

    https://www.freespeechcoalition.nz/donate?utm_campaign=fsc_funding_for_appeal&utm_medium=email&utm_source=freespeech

Thank you for your support – because, without you, no one would be mounting the case in favour of free speech.
    Dr David Cumin

So could not figure out how to do it on android, so I fired up the old PC and played around. So I’m back in colour!

  18. Government no longer to fund the Clinton Foundations’ flagship aid programme

The Government has ended its more than six-year relationship with the Clinton Foundation’s flagship aid project, revealing it will no longer fund the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI).

Since 2014, the Government has given the initiative – a non-profit organisation with a focus on reducing the cost of HIV/AIDS medicine in sub-Saharan Africa – just over $10 million.

This was thought to be from New Zealand’s overall overseas aid and development budget.

An official information act (OIA) request to the Taxpayers’ Union shows that the final instalment of Government funding to CHAI was on August 30.
    https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12274531&fbclid=IwAR2MkW4UkU1YahNasULWY5gvt2nhRTPwG5AZR-cQp7JttERWh3IP42Z_8oo

So while KB has languished David has been on the job at the taxpayers union.
