        A 23-year-old Syrian armed with a knife on Friday ran into a Berlin synagogue, and was arrested at the entrance.

  3. On Monday, a man hijacked a lorry and ploughed into eight vehicles waiting at a traffic light, injuring eight people. Seven were treated in hospital.

    A thirty-two year-old suspect has been arrested.

    Originally from Syria, the man has been living in Germany since 2015, local reports say.

    Public broadcaster ZDF quoted sources as saying the incident was being treated by investigators as having a “terrorist background”, although Interior Minister Horst Seehofer said on Tuesday he could not yet say how the incident was being classified.

  4. Just an update on my polls campaign
    I emailed Reid research and Colmar Brunton asking when the next polls are.
    They both emailed back and told me that they could not tell me as it may influence the results!
    I also looked up on Curia’s website and it seems that a poll with one supplementary question would cost about $2,000 and take 3 weeks.

    • DN15 why the obsession with polls? We all know they’re just a tool of the corrupt and dishonest MSM, with the advent of cellphones they’re also hopelessly unreliable. It’s not like the expenditure would deliver you anything that is reliable or worth anything.

      We can tell as much from the absence of polls as we can from running them. Obviously when the left is doing badly, the MSM don’t want to run any polls as they basically disprove their narrative (and evil globalists pay good money to have their narrative pushed – regardless of the facts).

      The MSM are holding off on them at present in the hope that the PTPM is going to get an utterly worthless Nobel prize and then they’ll:

  5. Govt quietly abandons electric vehicle target

    The Government has quietly backed away from a pledge to make its fleet emissions-free by mid-2025. The goal was part of the Labour-NZ First coalition agreement, Marc Daalder reports.

    There are 15,473 vehicles in the government fleet and only 78 are electric. When the coalition Government came into power in late 2017, the agreement between Labour and New Zealand First stipulated that the entire fleet would be emissions-free by mid-2025, “where practicable”.

    Although it was repeated as recently as June, that goal has been quietly revised to a commitment that, after mid-2025, all new vehicles entering the fleet will be emissions-free.

    • Local Government management is not above stupid decisions to purchase electric vehicles and consider placing charging stations to enable the stupidity. This despite a reality one remote location charging station may provide 3 charges a week.

      Local Government does not have a role to virtual signal this inefficiency on the ratepayers account.

    I particularly reject the notion tax taken here can be used by the UN to redistribute wealth. i resent every dollar of tax taken and wasted by our government; sending anything, expending anything, on the UN, is the height of wasted effort by our tax paying businesses and citizens.

      It never occurred to them to raise the deeper purpose of Extinction Rebellion. Its leaders have been quoted as hailing the movement as “the best chance we have of bringing down capitalism” and that people “might die” in the process of “bringing down governments”. As the Telegraph reported:

  22. At the weekend I witnessed an incident while using the hotel toilet. There was a woman at the mirror as I entered who was putting on makeup who mistook the next woman for a man and directed him to the mens toilet. ‘She’ had a short-back and sides haircut and was dressed in mens’ trousers and shirt. When she was told “I am a woman” the first woman apologised but you could cut the atmosphere with a knife!
    I’ve been pondering why if you are a lesbian and get snippy at being mistaken for a man why you don’t have your own personal style instead of dressing just like a man?

    They should immediately implement the following measures:

    1. Charge market rates for electricity at charging stations.
    2. A tax sufficient to cover the billions of dollars needed for infrastructure, by 2025.
    3. A tax to cover the 100’s of billions needed for new power plants.
    4. The usual taxes for ACC, Roading, infrastructure etc.
    5. Another tax to research ways of mitigating the huge environmental harm of making batteries.
    6. Another tax to run disposal facilities for the batteries.
    7. Another tax to pay for the loss of production in the economy by using electric.
    8. A 75% levy on the grand total of the above – for being a wanker.
