And a good morning to you ma’am.

Some of us ARE up and about this morning, but it would seem that indeed the ‘weather’ and darkness are affecting the membership.

No doubt someone will wander along later…..

    Have a great day.

      • Big mines are expensive. Although Shane is keen to sign and fast track, the billion dollar finance deals aren’t ready. The high interest rates make capital raisings even scarier at the moment. He would do better focusing on small / family scale / funding ready projects &/or decimating the Resource Consent Laws, the regional council sewage tsunami of development laws. Consents are just troughs for the office bound non productive class.

        • Never understood why we have to pay fees to Council and regional council officials as we already pay them, apart from largely being self opiniated arrogant incomepetent bludgers what the fuck do they do thats of any value when not obstructing their paying rate and tax[ayers from doing what they weant to their own properties.

  2. Appreciated the last lot of rain, but not the wind to bring on the autumn change.
Nice to have stayed dry yesterday, and another cloudy day.
Morning darkness until the end of this month, for the daylight savers.
Which ever way, make the most of the daylight. 🙂

Keeps us all busy so we sleep in.

Jones changes will still allow the part-time hori’s to stomp on everything,
They will have their filthy hands out as usual.
They have usurped the meaning of Property Rights via the sluch of the Waitangi outfit.

  4. Australian Bank Closes 45 Branches to Become Digital Only
The move continues an ongoing push towards cashless transactions across society.

Bankwest will become a digital-only bank, closing 45 branches in Western Australia and transitioning 15 to Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) branches.

The bank is planning to convert to a digital bank completely by October 2024, closing or converting all the remaining bank branches it operates in Australia.
Explaining the change, the bank claimed 97 percent of transactions are now completed digitally and only two percent of customers visit a branch.
Bankwest closed the Subiaco branch in Perth after 60 years of service in July 2023, and a further three Perth metro branches in late 2023.
In 2022, the bank closed all 14 branches on the east coast of Australia and reduced opening hours at regional branches in Western Australia (WA).

The bank claimed its Western Australian branches now average just 30 over-the-counter transactions each day and 15 in regional WA.

  5. Harvard Ends COVID-19 Shot Mandate

Harvard University announced on March 5 that it had ended the COVID-19 shot mandate, walking back on its announcement just weeks earlier that all students needed the shot to register for the fall semester.
The university made the announcement in a post on its website, stating: “Harvard University Health Services (HUHS) will no longer require students to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. We strongly recommend that all members of the Harvard community stay up-to-date on COVID-19 vaccines, including boosters if eligible.”

  7. Lynn and Bob, two frequent users of an AOL chat room,
discovered that they had a lot in common. Eventually, they
abandoned the chat room for a more intimate correspondence.
After months of virtual kinkiness, the two decided to meet
each other face-to-face at a small cafe.

Lynn arrived a little late. One customer, a short, frail
man with an eye patch, sat at the back of the cafe.

    “Are you Bob?” asked Lynn.

    “Yes I am,” said Bob.

“Unbelievable!” Lynn exclaimed. “You told me you were tall,
    dark and handsome.”

“How do you think I feel?” Bob asked, his face turning red
with shame. “You told me you were skinny, blonde,
    and female!”

    • I recently heard Christine Rankin talking on boot camps WINZ used to send long term unemployed on. She talked of many participants coming from dreadful backgrounds who would be in tears at the end of the 6 week? course that gave them a routine, organisational skills, etc as they didn’t want to return to their dysfunctional lives.

He Whenua Taurikura National Centre of Research Excellence was set up in June 2022 and is hosted by Victoria University. The director of the Centre is Professor Joanna Kidman, appointed for a three year term by then PM Ardern. Funding is provided to the Centre by the He Whenua Taurikura charitable trust.

Its accounts for its first year to 30 June 2023 show that it received $1.423m from DPMC but a description and quantification of its outputs show that it had started none of its work during that year other than to hold a hui in December 2022.

The accounts try to justify this by claiming that they only received “the bulk” of its funding in the last month of its financial year.

NIWA climate change scientists honoured in Prime Minister’s top science prizes

The nine-member team, which comes under the umbrella of the Centre for Chemical and Physical Oceanography based at the University of Otago, has carried out some of the largest experiments ever undertaken to understand the central role the ocean has played in influencing climate over the past one million years.

Their findings have helped position New Zealand as a leader in the debate about whether manipulating the oceans to remove carbon dioxide emissions from the air – a form of geo-engineering – could mitigate or solve global warming.

  13. El Salvador’s Ministry of Education announced that it will stop teaching gender theory to children.
“Confirmed: we have removed all traces of gender ideology from public schools,” Minister of Education José Mauricio Pineda told El Pais.
Salvadorian feminists are of course screeching over the decision.
Meanwhile in Argentina, President Javier Milei is on a similar mission to undo years of feminist policies – demoting the Minister of Women, Gender and Diversity to the level of undersecretary, and announcing that the government will prohibit so-called ‘inclusive’ language and “anything related to the gender perspective” in the administration.

  14. Legislation introduced on March 5 would strip COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers of liability protections, enabling Americans injured by the shots to sue the companies.
Mr. Roy’s bill already has 19 co-sponsors, including Reps. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), Clary Higgins (R-La.), Ralph Norman (R-S.C.), and Andy Harris (R-Md.).
“Many Americans were wrongly forced to take a COVID-19 vaccine,” Rep. Eric Burlison (R-Mo.), another co-sponsor, said in a statement. “Of course, they should be allowed to sue if they become injured by the shot.”

    • That would be amazing but in my opinion very unlikely.

Money talks and the damn covid “vaccine” manufacturers have a lot of money to spend buying senators and representatives loyalty.

The billions of profits would have gone to places that the courts would not be able to access.

The best we can hope for is that some of the heads of these corporations end up serving some long prison terms.

They are pledged to bring the world population down from nearly eight billion people to just one billion.

  16. Few things scream, “Public benefit” less than what the initiative in reality aims to achieve: summed up, it’s the introduction of digital ID, linked to user bank accounts.
Both for democracy and free speech advocates, and repressively-acting governments, the 2022 trucker protest in Canada was an excellent showcase of how legitimate dissent can be stifled by cutting people off from their money.

      as I said years ago.
Unless the manufacturers have a standard charging interface (like a USB method; y’know Universal Serial Bus) then it was another reason to give EVs an F for fail.

  17. A top pathologist has warned that there has been a 55% increase in turbo cancers among the 18 to 69 year old population since the jab rollout. Ivana Pavic did an extensive study in Croatia that found that while 55% of the 18 to 69 year olds are vaccinated, 65% of the carcinoma cases in that age group had one or more shots.
Steve Kirsch reports: If you do the math, it means that the COVID vaccines increased your risk of getting cancer by a whopping 52%. Did they warn you about that before they gave you the shots?
In short, this is a train wreck, and there is no other explanation for this differential since the only difference between the groups was whether they were vaccinated or not.

  18. Karen’s will have a field day!!
They say life and death rest on the tongue, and in the case of California, your own words and thoughts can and will be used against you. CA vs Hate is a new program brought forward by Governor Gavin Newsom that encourages neighbours to turn on one another and lose trust in their own communities. The state has invested $110 million into this thought policing policy that entices individuals to report “hate speech” to the government.
Anything anti-establish can be qualified as hate speech!

  19. Another anti Coalition “Poll”.

“More people disapprove of the Government than approve of it.
A net 3.9 per cent of people disapprove of the Government, a shift of 8.4 points on last month’s poll.”

This “Poll” says the Hutt Valley Sausage Roll Muncher, Hipkins is far more popular than Christopher Luxon. I am surprised that did not say Hipkins was far more honest, open and visionary than Nude Nut. Maybe they will tomorrow,

What a bunch of fucking Muppets the MSM are. They should come to my place of work, which was previously infested by Labour supporters. Not anymore, these people now see some positivity and a plan for the future being generated by the Coalition Government, something Labour and the dishonest Ginga Dwarf, Hipkins will never understand let alone come to grips with. 20. So there have been a few cuts. In my view the last three words shows the disconnect that has led to this.

“TVNZ Chief Executive Jodi O’Donnell says it’s been a difficult day for TVNZers with some incredibly tough conversations for many around the business, including the newsroom.

“Midday, Tonight, Fair Go and Sunday are programmes with a long and celebrated legacy at Te Reo Tātaki.”

did he see the writing on the wall or just driven out by the toxicity ?

There has never been a need for teevee Enzed to be in downtown prime city real estate.

  21. A recent health study which revealed that nine out of 10 countries with the most number of obese people in the world are from the Pacific means “the notion of being big is beautiful” is no longer the case, RNZ’s Tonga correspondent says.

The research published in The Lancet ranked American Samoa as the most obese nation in the world, followed by Tonga, which has the highest number of obese women.

According to the study, involving 1500 researchers worldwide, more than a billion people are living with obesity around the world, including about 880 million adults and 159 million children.

    • Did you see the rust in the side of the Lada?

Reminded me of here in Godzone in the 1980’s. The then USSR & the NZ Dairy Board had a dairy for cars swap when Russia was hard up for cash. Russia had bought the moulds, jigs & whathaveyou of the Italians when the Fiat 1500 ceased production so the car was out of date & Kiwis weren’t in any great rush to buy them. Urban legend has it that when Fonterra was formed to replace the Dairy Board they found themselves the not so proud owners of a warehouse full of unsold Ladas.

Anyway the shitbuckets were made out of crap Russian steel which started to rust before they were delivered. After a couple of years you could kick holes in the doors & mudguards with your bare feet. About the only willing buyers were the crews of the joint venture fishing boats from Vladivostok who worked the hoki season on the West Coast. At the end of their stay they would tour the second hand car yards buying up Ladas, strapping them down as deck cargo on the trip home.

Apparently they onsold them for good coin once they got them back home but I shudder at the thought of the rust problems the new owners would have faced.

  22. So Enoch Powell is known for his Rivers of Blood speech on immigration. But have you seen him on a pogo stick promoting healthy lifestyles, with his family looking on in surprise, during his period as Health Minister:

    https://images-cdn.bridgemanimages.com/api/1.0/image/600wm.UIG.57607050.7055475/5067496.jpg

Enoch served in British Intelligence during the war and became a Brigadier. He also taught Latin and Greek in Sydney University. His Rivers of Blood was a quote from Virgil, “War, fierce war I see: and the Tiber foaming with much blood”

    • Powell was very bright.
      A professor at 25
Conversant in Greek at a young age.
It would appear he was high in IQ, low in EQ.
      ——————–
In 1937, he was appointed Professor of Greek at the University of Sydney aged 25 (failing in his aim of beating Nietzsche’s record of becoming a professor at 24). He was the youngest professor in the British Empire.[60] Among his students was future Labor Prime Minister of Australia, Gough Whitlam, who described his lectures as ‘dry as dust’.

  23. The minister of Wine and cheese has died
    ———

Labour Party’s one of the longest-serving MPs, Jonathan Hunt, has died aged 85.

First elected to the Parliament in 1966, Hunt was an MP for 39 years, 30 of which were as MP for New Lynn. He was a Minister in the David Lange Government and Speaker of the House under Helen Clark before heading to London.

    ——————–
That is a very good innings considering his diet.
He also used to ring up the biggest taxi charges
    Probably too pissed to drive.
Did not want to do a Ruth Dyson

to be fair, he seemed rather gentlemanly with none of the raw malice we see today with Brylcreem, McAnulty, White-with-fright wee Willie Jackson, Feral verrall, and Gin-soaked Anderson.
