  1. I’ve just watched an interview with Winston Peters about the Māori bullshit being inflicted on our country,I pledge to never call him the “Wellington maggot” again .
Is it possible we could see an actual government crackdown on the bleeding septic sore that is ruining the country ??

    • Winston Peters is speaking more truth each day, but it seems, Luxon does not want to hear the truth, for apparently, he is going to speak to Peters about his “rhetoric” and toning down his language.

Well it is long overdue the truth of what is going on in this country and if it is Peters who speaks it, then he has my support. It is a great pity for this country that Luxon is so meek.

      • TAH, Don’t you mean Luxon is going to have a nice fireside chat with Peters? If there is one thing consistent about Winny it’s that he doesn’t back down from honest comments he has made .
The National caucus should go to an engineering firm and get them redesign a Zimmer frame that can be quickly strapped to nude nuts arse so he won’t fall over as he back-pedals at supersonic speed every 2nd fcuking day..

      • Luxon mistakenly thinks the Maorification of NZ is not a big thing – he is right its a fucking massive thing and if he carries on this way National will be the minor party in an ACT/NZ1st Govt.

    • I’m with you Rev. I didn’t want Winston in govt as I’ll never forgive him for bringing Ardern govt to power. He is largely responsible for the shit this country is in now. However, now I’m glad he’s here. Luxon doesn’t have the spine that I was hoping for – he’s too interested in trying to be everyone’s friend.
What I’m praying for is that the last six years have been so bad that a critical mass of people have had enough and will back the severe measures that are required to get things back on track. Maybe that’s a plus of the Ardern govt – if it wasn’t as destructive as it was we may have allowed this shit to simmer away for many more years to come.

      • English was telling him that the national party wanted him gone, so what was Winston to do actually? I think it was fair enough when that is what Bill was telling him, Bill English should have kept his mouth shut and all would have been well perhaps???? That is what he told us at the Hamilton meeting anyway. Truth or not it was a fair answer. Who was Winston to deal with?

  2. Good morning, hope all well on this blog and be safe, revtech120 I voted for Winston and am very pleased with how they are standing up to this lot, including National, I could not vote for either luxflakes nor David again after his take on all things jabby so it was Winston or no one and listened to him in Hamilton and thought he has most of what I want to see in a government, and I have to say he is delivering on most of what I wanted. I am very pleased he is there. Have a great day people.

    • So did I Lizziep and extremely/proud that I did – the whole thing worked out exactly as I had hoped and the coalition make up is also exactly as I had hoped.
This is in spite of the fact that I had joined my first ever Political Party – Democracy NZ in October 2022, delivered pamphlets, had a billboard on my fence for a year – but saw that it was going to be a wasted vote.

Saggy – if Peters had gone/propped up National in 2017 it is probably certain they would have been tossed in 2020 – they were a failing commodity. Ardern would have probably then been elected in 2020 and guess what – probably into her second term right now. I think National would have gone with the World Wide lockdown Covid hysteria – i.e. look at Britain under a Conservative Government – Peters would have been tainted as well so who would be all looking to be a leader right now.
Be thankful He went with Labour in 2017.

  3. I have written here before about WAI262 and this has basically been ignored, but I guarantee this is likely to be the biggest Claim bought by IWI before the Waitangi Tribunal and will be the biggest Claim that any Government, particularly a Labour Government will bring into Law, when the Waitangi Tribunal hand down their recommendations in favour of a few Maori.

“WAI 262 is commonly known as the Fauna, Flora and Intellectual Property Rights claim. It seeks the protection of taonga Māori by tangata Māori.”

Wai262 was initially made before the Waitangi Tribunal in 1991 and is still ongoing and growing in its’ broad approach by the day. Why has it taken so long for the Waitangi Tribunal to make a finding. Well they are waiting for a compliant Government which will adopt their very radical recommendations and findings.

What WAI262 gives a few Maori, is ownership of each and every Native plant in New Zealand, what can be done with it and a payment for the use and development of every Native plant. This will be as big or bigger than the claims for the Foreshore and Seabed and as I point out, most people have missed it or its’ impact on the country. It is a disaster for this country in waiting.

    Be very worried.

    • “A first-of-its-kind study has revealed small-town New Zealanders are bigger boozers than city dwellers.”

Well, these dumb arseholes who are undertaking this study, do not understand the reason for this.

It is because of all the pain, City’s like Wellington have inflicted on small rural towns like Taumarunui. At the end of the 1980’s there were 14 operating sawmills within a very close proximity to Taumarunui. Helen Clark saw the end of them. Sheep and beef farming was very strong around Taumarunui up until recently. Labour and their Carbon Forests and Credit programme are seeing the end of that productive food producing activity. The number of 7,000 acre farms being turned into trees would make you weep.

No wonder rural areas drink more.

      16

      0

      • It’s the same everywhere. The percentage of drinkers just looks bigger in a smaller sample.
        Tekuiti has let’s say 10000 people. 5000 are drinkers. That’s 50%.
Hamilton has 200000 people and 100000 drinkers. That’s still 50%

        • Who cares anyway what they say, did they ask me? Nope, never been asked anything from a survey, it’s very interesting how they never ask people that I know, so who did they ask? The ones bleating about social housing?????I bet they are the ones they asked.

……“We hope that New Zealanders can overcome the stereotype that Māori and Pasifika are big drinkers.”……

There’s a grain of truth in this otherwise cringeworthy observation. They don’t necessarily drink all that much……..it’s more that they can’t hold their piss.

      • nasska, In the late 70s early 80s I was living in Germany working as a builders labourer, there were a half dozen beer vending machines in the huge home base workshop and workers would have a bottle of beer if they wanted it at anytime of the day ,it wasn’t unusual to see a worker eating a fresh bread roll and a large piece of cheese with a beer on their way to work.
The only person you’d ever see pissed and rowdy even at local town beer festivals was a tourist or imported worker usually from the UK , Aussie, NZ or South Africa ( including myself early on in my stay),the drinking culture is nothing like ours, EG at the Munich beer festival the greatest trouble at that time always came from the colonial tents , LMFAO.

        • Interesting. I’ve long considered that the habits learned from the 6 o’clock swill put into place in 1919 & not repealed until 1968 have taken two generations plus to modify.

It’s unlikely that those who get their rocks off by deciding our morals & channelling our behaviour will take any notice but when you treat adults as children then they act like children.

    2 mins 53 secs : 17th March, 2024 : Reef Rebels

Dr Peter Ridd has been researching the Great Barrier Reef since 1984, has invented a range of advanced scientific instrumentation, and written over 100 scientific publications.
Since being fired by James Cook University for raising concerns about science quality assurance issues,
1 Peter Ridd works unpaid as an Adjunct Fellow in the Project for Real Science run by the Institute of Public Affairs.

What else will the crazed scientism claim or ignore?
To claim there are problems, create a fairy tale, narrative, sort of faraway, that can not easily be checked up on, where the city folk can not see.

  5. U.S., like China, may end up with massive ‘EV graveyards’.

A subsidy-fuelled boom helped build China into an electric-car giant, but left weed-infested lots across the nation brimming with unwanted battery-powered vehicles.

    Why are EVs unwanted?

Maybe it’s because they need recharging every 3.5 hours with charging taking a minimum of 45 minutes. Maybe it’s because runtime is decreased in cold weather. Maybe it’s because they’re prone to experiencing “Thermal runaway,” bursting into 5,000F flames that firefighters cannot extinguish. Perhaps it’s because they also burst into flames if they hit something, or are in wet environments, like heavy rain. Or perhaps it’s because they’re typically 30% heavier than gasoline vehicles, meaning more road wear, faster tire wear, higher road noise.

    • From the article Francis linked to:

…….”It happened because climate fanatics became coupled with massive wasteful government infusion of taxpayer’s money and regulations into a free market economy. The problem is too much government control and mandates over a capitalistic system. A true capitalistic system will correct itself with supply and demand, if left alone.”…….

A fact that escapes all the political parties who dictate what happens in NZ.

  7. I am at Countdown scanning and bagging my almost $300 worth of groceries while the employee that wants $25 an hour “monitors” and then this happened.
Her – why are you double bagging all of your groceries?
    Me – excuse me?
Her – you are wasting our bags!
Me – if you don’t like the way I’m bagging the groceries, feel free to come on over here and bag them yourself.
Her – that’s not my job!
Me – okay, then I will bag my groceries how I please if that’s all right with you.
Her – why are you using two bags?!
Me – because the bags are weak and I don’t want the handles to break or the bottoms to rip out.
Her – well that’s because you are putting too much stuff in the bag. If you took half of that stuff out and put it in a different bag then you wouldn’t need to double bag.
*10 seconds of me just staring at her.
Me – so you want me to split these items in half and put half of them in a different bag so that I don’t have to double bag.
    Her – exactly.
Me – so I would still be using two bags to hold the same number of items.
Her – no because you wouldn’t be double bagging.
*me pressing two fingers to my left eye in an attempt to make it stop twitching.
Me – okay so here I have a bottle of milk and a bottle of juice double bagged. If I take the milk out and remove the double bagging and just put the milk in the single bag and the juice in that single bag I’m still using two bags for these two items.
Her- no because you are not double bagging them so it’s not the same number of bags.
*me looking around at about 10 other customers who at this point are enjoying the show.
Me- is this like that new Native math stuff I keep hearing about?
Her- never mind you just don’t get it.
And with that, she went back to her little Podium so she could continue texting or playing games on her phone or whatever it was she was doing before she decided to come over and critique my bagging skills.😂😂

    • I trust that is a third parry story Mr. Ed and you were not in countdown/woolies.

I cant understand why one would go to countdown and pay 25% more for the product than Pak n Save, where they at least process the items fast. Pak n Save and New World tend to vary a lot but countdown is perennially bad.- as is Woolies in Australia, its foreign owner.

Eg. New World Mt Roskill is great with superb quality Fruit and Vege.
N.W. Waikanae is a bit weak.
Pak n Save Royal Oak is excellent and is busy most of the 14 hours a day it is open.
Pak n Save Little Mogadishu aka. Mt Albert is one to not darken the doors. It is dark enough.

Data, the one item Congress nearly unanimously agreed upon when it came to a social media platform compared to the wide variety of actually dangerous data sharing issues. Studies have shown that cars may be susceptible to hacking. “Cars have microphones and people have all kinds of sensitive conversations in them. Cars have cameras that face inward and outward,” a researcher with Mozilla Foundation told the Los Angeles Times. In fact, 19 automakers in 2023 admitted that they have the ability to sell your personal data without notice. Law enforcement may subpoena these records as well. 16. Harvard has halted its long-planned atmospheric geoengineering experiment
The decision follows years of controversy and the departure of one of the program’s key researchers.

Proponents of solar geoengineering research argue we should investigate the concept because it may significantly reduce the dangers of climate change. Further research could help scientists better understand the potential benefits, risks and tradeoffs between various approaches.

But critics argue that even studying the possibility of solar geoengineering eases the societal pressure to cut greenhouse gas emissions. They also fear such research could create a slippery slope that increases the odds that nations or rogue actors will one day deploy it, despite the possibility of dangerous side-effects, including decreasing precipitation and agricultural output in some parts of the world.

Part of it is a description of the prison ‘accommodation’ by a Kiwi who has spent time as a guest of the Thai authorities:

……””The memory will absolutely stay with me forever,” he admitted. “When I was walking into the cell I thought I was going to die.”

“I was very young at the time and it was extremely scary.

He described it as being “rat-infested” and said prisoners were stripped down to their underwear, and “relied on people on the outside for food”.

“You don’t get your own cell, you don’t get your own bed,” he said. “The place stinks.” ……..

I don’t know whether NZ & Thailand have a ‘transfer of sentence’ arrangement where it is possible to serve your sentence in your own country but it’s a possibility the Day brothers will be exploring.
