    • For once Hooton is right.

Unless the right wake up and start working the fact of Hooton’s description of the harridan, start actually projecting themselves as an attractive alternative the CoL will romp in in 2020.

      • Jacinda can do it all on her own without help, the more that narrative is pushed the better.

    • Labour and green supporters will vote for the same gang of idiots even when they fail time and time again. Low-IQ people who can vote and dangerous.

  1. Hooton used to talk sense but somewhere along the way he had a ‘road to Damascus’ moment. I am skeptical of his insight.

  2. Old Joe Biden has announced his run for the presidency of the USA. He will be 78 on when he takes office. Biden says he asked Obama not to endorse his run as president, and said he’s running for president because everything about American democracy is “at stake” under a Trump presidency.

    • Biden is too white for the “woke” crowd lol. The Dims have no idea what they actually stand for.

Based on their last two presidential candidates they stand for far too much.

  3. The CoL announced the way to deal with Mycoplasma bovis was to cull any infected herd. A year on where are the rural sector with this? Mycoplasma bovis has not been eliminated and there are families suffering out there in the rural sector with their livelihoods in shreds. In 5 weeks time it will be the annual “Gypsy Day” when the dairy herds around the country are moved on 1 June as sharemilkers take over the running of a new farm.

      • Banning the word “Gypsy” would just be virtue signalling. It does not change the fact that the dairy herds of NZ are about to ‘play musical chairs’ as the bovine ladies ‘waltz’ around the country swapping farms. Is it time for the CoL to admit Mycoplasma bovis is here to stay in NZ and the health of our dairy herds needs to be managed not culled.

I jiggled my trouser pocket and said, “It appears that I do.”
I thanked him for his interest and walked on.

  5. I am looking forward to the National Party Central North Island Conference this weekend starting with drinks and nibbles at 5 pm today. Free speech will be the top of my agenda.

    • Where are they holding the conference Chuck? I do hope National are hungry to be elected and are prepared to fight for that win. A hint of steel in their backbone to show the electorate they mean business and are not on the same virtue signalling path as the CoL. NZ’ers need a government committed to a growing economy, lower taxes, practical and commonsense policies, and business need less red tape strangling productivity. Please report back after your conference.

      • WG, the conference is at Sky City Hamilton. If you are a member you could probably still go. The cost is $130 + $60 if you want dinner on Saturday evening.

I think they can be too hungry for winning 2020. That may sound silly but I believe National should not be totally poll driven. That happened with the firearm confiscation. I hope that will not be the case will free speech. They should have objected to the ban on the manifesto. I see in Stuff that it is claimed that the alleged murderer was a Christian. There is no reason to believe that this is true.

So far I hear Simon Bridges talk of a grey area in regards free speech. I disagree. There certainly should be laws against incitement to violence which is the case. I do not think the pamphlet that Little wanted banned was appropriate or smart. If some group wanted the end of racist seats referring to Maori as stone age people does not help their cause. However, it should not be banned.

  6. After a week off, I am back to try and show you righties who is the shining light in NZ politics. Jacinda has been outstanding in her pole as PM recently. And now she is going to Paris to co-chair a talk fest with the other outstanding youth adjacent world leader, Macron. All you old fogies need to realise that there is a new order taking over. Just slink away to your caves and your gin and tonics and reminisce about the good old days

    • Please please can your dear leader stay over there and show the world just how big an airhead she really is. After all , Paris is just a step on her way to the UN.

      • I see that your government is wanting it self to control the media?
That’s what the nazis did in germany, aswell as Stalin in russia.
Louisa Wall would not have put this up with out been asked by JacinDUH!
Is this even worse than Custard Clares, sneaky meetings that got Carol fired for lying?

        • JaciDUH owns the media in NZ!
They all rolled over to her!

    • Thanks for the visual of Cindy on her pole. ?
Her poll results would be more realistic if the msm were doing their job and reporting on the total incompetence of ‘she-who-must-be-obeyed’ and her shallow carpark puddle of MP’s.

      • A smile is all she’s got. I’m looking forward to see her and the privacy commissioner try and take on Facebook and social media.

  7. The Yellow Vests in Paris have won some concessions from Macron. Macron has announced a cut in taxes and intends to reduce the size of the French civil service.
Time will tell if he achieves a cut of government employees.

  8. Another major fail from our idiot PM. Rubbing noses with the Prince !!!

Yee gods… has she been keeping her Maori heritage a secret. Her ability to dress up in different nations costumes never ceases to amaze me. Worse than Jim Bolger and his various accents.

Seem to remember Clark wearing a trouser suit and putting her arm around the Queen so Ardern has been reading her book on how to be crass.

Today will we be subjected to more photos of the Prince and his new best friend desperately trying to put her arms around him ?

    • I believe it was Michelle Obama who put her arm around the Queen. Nobody touches the Queen. Helen is not a royalist so was dismissive of royal protocol. Helen wore a trouser suit instead of a dress to a formal dinner and then she took her seat before the Queen sat down. That slight would have been noted by the Palace.

  9. As well as the government I would not be surprised that Dunedin rate payers would also be a soft touch.

When Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern visited the mosque yesterday, Dr Rizwan told her that it would need Government support to reach its funding goals.

She told him to work through the request with local MPs.

The association has set up a fundraising page on the website Givealittle.

There had already been discussions between the association and other organisations such as the Dunedin City Council about how they could help, he said.

At this stage there were no detailed plans for the upgrade but the aim was to build another storey on top of one of the existing rooms, Dr Rizwan said.

If successful, the association’s medium and long-term plan was to build more mosques in the city, he said.
    https://www.odt.co.nz/news/dunedin/community-has-outgrown-its-mosque

I wonder if a “bell tower” could be built on the side. It will not hinder Friday prayers, but could ring out on Sundays just to help everybody to be inclusive. ūüôā

        • Yes, for the time of day and the decibels bell ringing would need to apply
          Probably need a RMA now.

Note the last sentence of that article.
“If successful, the association’s medium and long-term plan was to build more mosques in the city”, he said.
A part of the plan, if they build them, then they will come.
