    • Luv it. even though I am an early riser ,which time I use to annoy some around here ,I luv daylight saving.
Gives me time after work to do gardening.
Its all just a matter of attitude you know..
Rethinking what you do and when.
do you talk to your neighbours at 5 am.?
Do you go shopping at 5 am.?
Yep I can understand why you grumble but use your evenings more.
anyway we will go back to the dark ages very soon.

  1. Perhaps I should have said Happy Easter to everyone today as I believe the hopeless semi so called president of the old US of A believes it is a very special Trans recognition day or something like that, he comes out as a catholic , well????? I am not sure that is catholic teaching is it? Or is it?????????? Though with this pope who would know?
I see Ed has lowered the temperatures this morning it’s bloody cold out there this morning. I cannot wait till next Sunday when daylight savings is at an end. It’s so dark taking the dogs out but the sun comes up as soon as we get to the top off the hill and is a joy to behold.

  2. Morning all… Still not raining so the drought is holding in the Mighty Waikato. Bit nippy. Hubby has the Vogel’s thick raisin toast and coffee on and the gas fire is pumping.

All is well. Stay safe. ☀️ 🕶️

A good laugh, but sadly the mad immigration schemes continue, and cinching in the Digital ID. has passed in the Upper House, the Senate, with little opposition.

  4. An elderly husband and wife visit their doctor when they begin forgetting little things.
Their doctor tells them that many people find it useful to write themselves little notes.
When they get home, the wife says, “Dear, will you please go to the kitchen and get me a dish of ice cream? And maybe write that down so you won’t forget?”
“Nonsense,” says the husband, “I can remember a dish of ice cream.”
“Well,” says the wife, “I’d also like some strawberries and whipped cream on it.”
“My memory’s not all that bad,” says the husband. “No problem – a dish of ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream. I don’t need to write it down.”
He goes into the kitchen; his wife hears pots and pans banging around. The husband finally emerges from the kitchen and presents his wife with a plate of bacon and eggs.
She looks at the plate and asks, “Hey, where’s the toast I asked for?”

“NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Day of Visibility. I call upon all Americans to join us in lifting up the lives and voices of transgender people throughout our Nation and to work toward eliminating violence and discrimination based on gender identity.”

    • Seriously conflicted this morning. I woke up expecting to celebrate Easter Sunday but now I find that the senile old duffer in the White House has declared that today is “Transgender Day of Visibility” What to do, what to do? The best I can come up with is try to find a transgender to insult on my way to church.

    • Showing how this became quietly imbedded in Australia, & as in New Zealand, circa the same time
      .
…. Since 1984, the federal Sex Discrimination Act 1984 has prohibited discrimination throughout Australia on the basis of mainly sexism, homophobia, transphobia and biphobia,
as well as sex, marital or relationship status, actual or potential pregnancy,
sexual orientation, gender identity, intersex status or
breastfeeding in a range of areas of public life, including work, accommodation, education, the provision of goods, facilities and services,
the activities of clubs and the administration of Commonwealth laws and programs. ….

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sex_Discrimination_Act_1984
      .
…. “Trans women have played with the club for at least 20 years, at levels ranging from beginner to skilled, just like our cis women players. ….

      .
      Exposes in depth here.
      .
….. Dennis launched his smaller female opponent towards a metal fence using an aggressive tackle as the two chased down the ball.
      .
Reduxx was provided footage of the match, which showed the female player laying on her side, unmoving, as the transgender player casually walked away. …
The month prior, Dennis was said to have injured another female player, who reportedly had to seek hospital attention as a result of her injury. …..
      .
….. attendees were told that a decision to boycott participation by forfeiting matches against The Flying Bats would result in “disciplinary action” being issued.
      .
“If there was a concerted effort by teams to forfeit games against a particular opposition that would be viewed as an act of discrimination,” …..
      .
….. The Football New South Wales Gender Diversity Policy prohibits “discrimination against a person on the basis of their sex or gender identity,” and defines gender identity as:
“The gender related identity, appearance or mannerisms or other gender-related characteristics of a person (whether by way of medical intervention or not), with or without regard to the person’s designated sex at birth.”
      .
“Discrimination or harassment of players engaging in Football is not tolerated at any level of the Game. Australian Federal and State legislation prohibits discrimination against a person on the basis of their Sex or Gender Identity, including in sport,” reads the policy. ….

      https://reduxx.info/exclusive-transgender-youtuber-who-injured-female-athletes-among-five-males-on-australian-womens-soccer-team/
      .
      “an Act of Discrimination”
So they could possibly use the power & resources of the state?
      Plus all the activists.
Seems very similar to the policing actions on Posie Parker.
      .
The problem has metastasized in so many parts of government, bureaucracy & media, to the “karen public”.

  7. Prior to the election the National Party signalled their intentions to abolish Labour’s ‘one (low) speed fits all’ policies & confirmed it in a statement titled “Accelerate NZ”. https://assets.nationbuilder.com/nationalparty/pages/18410/attachments/original/1695502195/Accelerate_NZ.pdf?1695502195 It promises to:

    # Reverse Labour’s blanket speed limit reductions on many state highways and local roads.

    # This will mean many of the state highways that have had their speed limit reduced to 80 km/h will be restored to
100, and many of the local roads that have been reduced to 30 km/h will be restored to 50.

    # Funding will be provided to progress these changes, with priority given to roads where roads where previous
consultation has already indicated a high level of opposition to reduced speed limits – for example State Highway
2 connecting the Rimutakas with Masterton.

Great, except that it hasn’t happened, no timeline exists as to when it will happen & questions to the Minister are answered with pontification on the need to consult communities.

He must think we’re mad. The only consultations NZ Ministries listen to are those that agree with their intentions & everything else finds its way to File 13. If the Minister wants to advance National policies then the answer is simple. Sack two of NZTA’s overpaid bureaucrats every day until resistance disappears.

    • I wonder when on earth that will happen? I thought all the maori stuff/names etc was over, and the road speed restrictions were over as well. It’s a very sad start to the coalition that things are taking as long as they are. I do actually blame national for the delays in implementing these changes. They never take out liarbors rules and regulations.

      10

      0

      • Lots of signs and regs to change at what cost just cause you wanna go faster. Think of all the speed cameras; that have to be changed including all the new ones.

        good things take time.
Unlike naaska who can build miles of roads over the hills overnight.

        3

        6

        • Since there is very little evidence that the speed limits in place actually reduce accidents it would seem to make sense to remove all speed limits and issue a universal speed advisory such as “Drive according to the road conditions.” Put that in place for, say, five years and at the end of the period we would have some concrete evidence to compare the effects of speed limits with.
Of course such an advisory would impact the revenue gathering efforts of the police and, as I do not believe it would lead to an increase in the “road toll,” so it will never happen.

          10

          0

          • The old “Limited Speed Zone”
            Drive accordingly to the Conditions.

Like is it busy? Traffic Density, like near a school.
Are School Kids on the way to school or home walking nearby?

Flashing lights on some slower moving tractor?

            Fog? heavy rain?

On a marked road be able to stop in the view of what you can see.
On an unmarked road, stop in half the distance you can see,
Sort of reasonably pertinent on a windy narrow back country “metal” road. 🙂

            9

            0

            • Not unsympathetic to that view at all. Have driven my current vehicle a long way and hardly ever look at the speedo. Its in the centre of the consol so means taking my eyes of the attraction around me that nmatter. The last two the LED on the speedo needle crapped out early in their career so couldn’t see that one either.

The problem is that people think they can drive , feed the kids, pat the dog, answer the phone, wave to their mates, txt and concentrate on a cellphone call whiclst driving. all those things all use the same bit of the brains and are not connected to their eyes while doing that. Hence limit their optical sense to their brains. (when they have them). Women in town do lll that.

Just use my common sense and the rule of being able to stop in half the clear distance ahead.
The biggy though is people who drift into opposing lanes. stop, that stop a lot of crashes that are deadly.

      21 March 2024
Cabinet has agreed on the coalition Government’s direction of travel for a new Land Transport Rule to be signed by the end of 2024. This new rule will reverse the previous government’s blanket speed reductions imposed on motorists across New Zealand, Transport Minister Simeon Brown says.
      ————————

So, a ‘direction of travel for a new Land Transport Rule’ or mere policy by end of 2024.
      yik yak
      ———–
      and on same paper
“Later this year, we will also publish new objectives for road safety which focus on safer roads, safer drivers, and safer vehicles. This will target the highest contributing factors in fatal road crashes, particularly alcohol and drugs.”

The new Land Transport Rule is currently being developed and will go out for public consultation in the coming months. Following this, the rule will be signed by the Minister of Transport before the end of this year.
      ————-

So um, yeah, Liebour did not consult when imposing this shit on us; just reverse it OK.
They are creating big ol’ consulting committees like liebour did .
Will this be handed over to Steven Joyce?
What has really changed from 2016?

Reading between the lines : WEF handbrake luxon is dragging this out.
      WEF is anti car.

Remembering the moron S Joyce – bastard for everything – decided to reverse the right turn/give way at intersections rule in 2010 but decided to leave it until after the Rugby WC in Nov 2011 ‘so that it does not confuse visitors to NZ.’
Well hell, Stevie, all other countries had dropped that rule more than a decade before, even Australia where it was copied from.

      Vacillation is the gig.
It is back to announcements of announcements.
      Liebour lite.

  8. A rooster wakes up early Easter Sunday morning. He sticks his head out of the chicken coop, and sees all the multicoloured eggs all over the barnyard. He takes a look at the eggs, takes a look at the hens,.

He thinks about it for a minute, then he walks across the barnyard and kicks the living shit out of the peacock.

    • An interesting article Alice, but mainly cause of what it doesn’t go into.
I have three brothers who hunt deer on a fairly regular basis and one of them many years ago told me of a conversation he had with a deer stalking buddy who happens to work for DOC. When the Moa were still around, their effects on the undergrowth is similar to what deer do. It’s not normal for our forests to be cluttered up like we see in areas where there is no goats, deer or any other browsers. The issue he saw it was that before when the moa numbers was kept in check by the Haast eagle, nature had a healthy balance.
Deer have only man as a predator, so we need to keep the numbers to a healthy managed level. Having no browsers (especially deer which tend to pick ) in our forests is actually less natural for our forests. Possums on the other hand has no counterpart and just a pest in any level above low amounts.

  10. I’ve just received an email from VFF. Apparently they have succeeded in getting one of their vaccine injury ads in the NZ Herald and Sunday Star Times last week and this morning:

……..”…with once-taboo topics now permissible in the struggling legacy media.

Maybe it’s desperation for ad revenue.

Maybe it’s the change in government.

Maybe it is because more and more people see the impact of adverse events from the so-called vaccine on those around them.

Whatever it is, we are glad to have pushed the conversation under the noses of middle New Zealand so that those impacted can be identified, acknowledged, understood, supported, and (one day) compensated.”…….

Road closed after barge hits bridge in Oklahoma
    https://www.1news.co.nz/2024/03/31/road-closed-after-barge-hits-bridge-in-oklahoma/

A barge has hit an Oklahoma bridge over the Arkansas River.

Troopers closed South US Highway 59 after the incident and diverted traffic from the area, the state patrol said on social media. The bridge, which crosses the Arkansas River where it enters the Robert S. Kerr Reservoir, will remain closed until it could be inspected, the agency said.
