Time should up for this from the Immigration Minister Iain Lee’s Galloway immigration is supposed to be for law abiding people with business skill or other skills needed to help the work force not for people that have a string of convictions.

      • I read that the government has allocated $17m to double the forensic work of Internal Affairs, bolster the Chief Censors work to assess and make fast decisions, strengthen our laws to respond swiftly to violent extremist material, and have a look at how our online providers should be regulated as part of the media.

What a pointless waste of hard earnt funds taken from taxpayers.

I do not need or want any of that. I did not ask for it.

I do not want online providers regulated by our government. I do not need more cash handed to the Chief Censor and I am not worried about extremist material, violent or otherwise. As for putting more money into Internal Affairs, need some evidence they are making useful progress now before adding more in.

If this is a sequel to the half baked Christchurch Call, and the UN, I am not interested.

    • The government is following the UN directives as shown in the

“” UN Migration Pact in Objective 17. …. to shape perceptions of migration …..
33 ….. in conformity with international human rights law…..
….. protect freedom of expression in accordance with international law, …..
      a) ….. Enact, implement or maintain legislation that penalizes hate crimes and aggravated hate crimes targeting migrants, and train law enforcement and other public officials to identify, prevent and respond ….
      b) ….. ensure that those who actively participate in the commission of a hate crime targeting migrants are held accountable, in accordance with national legislation, while upholding international human rights law, in particular the right to freedom of expression

      https://www.un.org/pga/72/wp-content/uploads/sites/51/2018/07/migration.pdf
Read Objective 17 intro and a) to g) as that shows that another list of ministries to be set up, to guide us in their wisdom. 🙁

Winston Peters and Ardern said there will be no binding effect. Yeah right.

11 mins 55 secs. [Speech completed in first 10 minutes]

…… My Government’s priority has always been to secure the United Kingdom’s departure from the European Union on 31 October. My Government intends to work towards a new partnership with the European Union, based on free trade and friendly cooperation [European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Bill].

My Ministers will work to implement new regimes for fisheries, agriculture and trade, seizing the opportunities that arise from leaving the European Union [Fisheries Bill, Agriculture Bill and Trade Bill]. An immigration bill, ending free movement, will lay the foundation for a fair, modern and global immigration system. …….. etc. …..
…… As the United Kingdom leaves the European Union, my Government will ensure that it continues to play a leading role in global affairs, defending its interests and promoting its values. ….. etc. …..

The old girl is a well practiced hand at this stage, and kept her Charlie son as just a hand to help down some steps.

A few stiff “upper lips” there! 🙂
Boris looked pretty relaxed. It seems like he has cracked it, though I never do like counting chickens until they have hatched.

Brexit; target in sight and looking like a clear line of delivery , 31 October, this year. 🙂
God bless the UK. and all who will sail in her..
Long Live the Queen, well for now any way.

    • Like the words but Brexit as envisaged by the leave voters is not certain and Nigel Farage has doubts and with Nigels 20+ years of experience of the Evil Union I value his judgement against Boris’s words until the 1/11/2019 with the UK having left the EU without any deal or hooks when I will congratulate Boris.

      • I agree, and do not trust EU and the time wasting to set their barbs, and use a later option to reel the UK back in.
Still it is a step, in the process, even if only 10 minutes.
The pageantry did add to the gravitas, showing an inevitably of leaving the EU. 🙂

Despite protestations, so far no politician moved for a vote of “no confidence” and an early Christmas for turkeys.

Nigel Farage as Commissioner to Europe? 🙂
        https://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/1187016/Brexit-news-Nigel-Farage-Steve-Baker-European-Commissioner-eu-exit-no-deal
The real spine in Brexit, the Uk’s leaving.

Boris has to lead, and show this by draining the swamp. and win the next election. I think he is flakey, but it seems he is getting beyond the point of no return.

A lot of game playing, cards to play with twists and turns.

There is a lot of money floating around in the system and many want to be able in their different ways to keep clipping the ticket, and retain power.

  8. Poll: Should restaurants be required to cater for food allergies?
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/shows/2019/10/poll-should-restaurants-be-required-to-cater-for-food-allergies.html

All those who have chosen to jump on the dietary food allergy bandwagon without medical diagnosis have made it more difficult for those who truly require to eliminate foods from their diet. The restaurants are having to cater for these self-diagnosed nutters.

    • I was taken out of a restaurant on a stretcher one night after eating ice cream.
I am allergic to eggs and they made the ice cream with raw egg.
It was no joke and I was as good as dead with an anaphylaxic attack.Have also had two episodes with reaction to bee stings.
I would like to know why allergies are becoming more common.
No-one has come up with the answer.

      0

      0

      • Sorry to hear that wiseowl. Obviously I was saying it is harder for people with real allergies to be taken seriously by restaurant staff due to all those with self-diagnosed food allergies. I have a diagnosed food allergy but it is non-life threatening so I don’t ask for special catering instead order carefully from the menu.

      • Agree WG .
        So nice Sooty.
One can be careful choosing from a menu but I can assure you it is possible to get a meal with peanuts or egg or whatever included that no-one thinks of.I gave you an example as I never expected ice cream to be ‘home made’ with egg when you normally get Tip Top.
It’s easy to get caught out.
I have had a cheese burger from McD ‘s that had mayonnaise in it !

  9. Looks like Andrew Little has finally made his move on weakening our justice system.
Last night I braved Jack Tame on QA&A.
He had a Maori judge on for an interview.
He has been appointed to reform the district courts.
His main thrust is to make them more maori and ethnic friendly so that users of the court system will feel more inclusive
He will be pushing Maori mare based justice to all district courts.
He cited the case ten years ago where a repeat offender found his maori roots and is now a perfect citizen.

I say One law for all!

    • Plenty of those authoritative approved systems to pick from

1 • Taqiyya (Shia) or Muda’rat (Sunni): tactical deceit for the purposes of spreading Islam, to hide Mohammad’s deeds & actions & exactly what your doctrine is.

2 • Kitman : deceit by omission. like by quoting peaceful verses, though they know they are abrogated.

3 •Tawriya: deceit by deliberate ambiguity. appearing to agree but muslims are in their minds on another subject, inshallah.

4 •Taysir: deceit through facilitation (not observing all the tenets of Sharia by ‘making things easier’).

5 •Darura: deceit through necessity (to engage in something “Haram” or forbidden such as drinking alcohol to exploit non-Muslims).
By appearing contrary, like drinking, to hide a muslims real intentions.

6 •Muruna: ‘flexibility’ or temporary suspension of Sharia to make Muslim migrants appear ‘moderate’ and blend in until Muslims are numerically strong enough to enforce Sharia.

Muslims imitate Allah ‘THE BEST OF DECEIVERS’.

Tu quoque You or they, did it too.

Squirrels: as in babies, engagement, wedding?

  10. Winston Peters unloads on Shane Jones’ critics over AR-15 photo
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2019/10/winston-peters-unloads-on-shane-jones-critics-over-ar-15-photo.html

“Earlier on Tuesday, Politik political journalist Richard Harman said Jones was “dog-whistling to those who have little time for metropolitan political correctness”.

“The Prime Minister may express her abhorrence at the picture, but it looked like a wink and a nod that could well resonate among the many gun owners frustrated with the Government’s gun clampdown,” he wrote in an article.”

So NZF are putting a stake in the ground that they don’t agree with Ardern’s gun buyback scheme.

  11. Man killed in Northland sailing tragedy was ACT Party candidate Stuart Pedersen
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2019/10/man-killed-in-northland-sailing-tragedy-was-act-party-candidate-stuart-pedersen.html

“The sailer killed after a yacht sank off the coast of Northland on Monday was an ACT Party candidate.

Stuart Pedersen died and another three were injured after the 47-foot yacht ran into trouble in bad weather and went down around 37 kilometres off the coast of Cape Brett.”

I presume Scott Palmer of Newshub meant Mr Pedersen was a sailor.
Condolences to his family and the Act Party.

  12. Speaker Trevor Mallard limits Simon Bridges’ questions in Parliament over refusing to remove attack ads
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2019/10/speaker-trevor-mallard-limits-simon-bridges-questions-in-parliament-over-refusing-to-remove-attack-ads.html

“The House Speaker ruled on Tuesday that the Leader of the Opposition will have a maximum of five supplementary questions – or follow-up questions – each day in Parliament this week. ”

The number of supplementary questions Simon Bridges can ask the PTPM reduced. That saves Cindy having to answer so many questions from the leader of the opposition. What a surprise Trev.

  13. Been a bit wet and cold in Gizzy today…so I thought I’d bake hubby a belated bday cake…
Checked through a few recipes and alighted upon a Marmalade cake…. (that could use up some of my runny marmalade, I thought)….. then I found a marmalade and parsnip cake online, that looked tempting… especially as I had a couple of manky parsnips lurking at the bottom of the fridge… but it was a Yank recipe… full of oil and odd types of sugar/flour, so I consulted one of my old tomes and got waylaid by a Gingerbread recipe….

Being a Graduate of the Letitia Cropley school of Culinary Arts, I’ve combined all the recipes (and added half a grated carrot)…. Cake is rising nicely in the oven at the moment… husband sniffing around expectantly….

  14. We think we have some fools in our COL but the Democrats take foolishness to it’s highest level yet.
They are having their impeachment charade hearings and have spent 11 hours talking to a high level witness about that phone call. It turns out that witness was not even working in the White House at the time of the call. She had resigned before the call occurred.

  15. Sanctions on Turkey signed.

United States troops coming out of Syria will now redeploy and remain in the region to monitor the situation and prevent a repeat of 2014, when the neglected threat of ISIS raged across Syria and Iraq.

“The United States will aggressively use economic sanctions to target those who enable, facilitate, and finance these heinous acts in Syria. I am fully prepared to swiftly destroy Turkey’s economy if Turkish leaders continue down this dangerous and destructive path,” he said.
    https://www.business-standard.com/article/news-ani/trump-authorises-us-treasury-state-dept-to-sanction-those-involved-in-actions-that-deteriorate-stability-in-syria-119101500100_1.html

  16. The biggest problem I have with the modern left is not that I simply disagree with their stated beliefs. It is that they do not believe their own statements.

This is the age of fake, where virtue signalling and optics are put before truth and outcomes. It is not overstating it to describe this as the new dark age, where reason is persecuted as ignorance.

This will have consequences for us all and they will be severe.

  17. Government should be more willing to wipe off beneficiaries’ debt for school uniforms and power bills, advocates say

    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/government-should-more-willing-wipe-off-beneficiaries-debt-school-uniforms-and-power-bills-advocates-say?auto=0

“The Government is being told it should be more willing to write off debts run up by beneficiaries to pay for basic living costs such as school uniforms, power bills and car repairs.

Almost $550 million is owed to the Ministry for Social Development for recoverable hardship assistance and grants – up more than $100 million on what it was four years ago.

Ms Grant said even though the repayments are interest free, and the maximum weekly repayment is $40, people can struggle to repay them and cover the rest of their living expenses.”

Does she understand working people are paying tax to support the country. It is not generated by Government.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2019/10/labour-under-fire-from-frustrated-impatient-unions-calling-for-sector-wide-fair-pay-agreements.html

“Union members voiced that frustration to Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters on Tuesday, who opted out of the singalong, using his speech to give unions stick for striking under this Government.

“We are being attacked by the union movement in this country,” said Peters.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is far more in tune with the unions, singing but still on the defensive – telling union members to sit tight.”

The union paymasters want their payback.

  20. Sean Plunket has just interviewed Simon Bridges on Magic Talk about his reaction to Mallard’s biased and openly partisan actions against him and National in the House.

Fuck me. Bridges is just hopeless. He was given a perfect opportunity right from the start to come out fighting …. and all he did was waffle ineffectually for ten minutes! A totally pathetic performance.

If this is the state of New Zealand’s ‘opposition’ to the destruction of our country, then we are well and truly fucked.
