The Government hopes to save more than $4 billion over 10 years and accelerate payments to New Zealand businesses by moving all government departments to electronic invoicing and making it mandatory to pay within 10 business days.
Cabinet has signed off on re-writing Rule 51 of the Government Procurement Rules, which sets invoice repayment expectations of government agencies.
As an explicit requirement, approximately 135 government agencies will be expected to pay 90% of all domestic invoices within 10 business days from January 1, 2025, with this number to increase to 95% from January 2026.
This will exclude certain specified agencies such as the pharmaceutical management agency (Pharmac).

Crimson has also added management consultant and ex-Labour Party leader David Cunliffe to its advisory board, joining former Prime Minister Sir John Key, ex-Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and Clinton-era Treasury Secretary and ex-Harvard president Larry Summers.
While Cunliffe won’t want to re-live the 2014 election (where he led his party to a defeat as Key’s National Party was elected), he was well-regarded on both sides of the aisle for his time as Communications Minister – a grunty stint that included the operational separation of Telecom.

Interesting development up this way. Marsden Maritime Holdings have apparently bought the GAS self serve station at the marina. This also includes the fuel jetty in the marina. Surprised me, I thought they had always owned it. Anyway, this was always one of the cheapest gas stations in Northland. Their price was always pretty much the same as Caltex Oakleigh and Gull Whangarei which are normally the cheapest. All of a sudden their diesel prices have gone from the cheapest to the most expensive in the area. Even the rip off Indians on Port Marsden highway are cheaper! The whole neighbourhood is up in arms over this, it now costs a fortune to fill the boat up, most of the commercial boats are now going up to Whangarei to fill up. Something is seriously wrong at MMH to do something like this, they are exposing themselves as a greedy corporate killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. Meanwhile they have a truck load of useless staff wandering around doing bugger all while their share price drops like a stone and they wonder why.
